Last summer it was so hot that I decided to try a body spray from IOE to cool down. I used two body sprays and although they were nice, I found the scents to strong and sweet and the spray did not moisturise my skin very much. I therefore decided to try the moisturising body spray from Enchanted as I loved their products that I had previously tried. With my next Enchanted order I got a Strawberry Buttercream and an Island Hopping Moisturising Body Spray.
The sprays come in silver bottles which contain 50ml of product. According to the Enchanted website (http://www.enchantedbath.co.uk) the moisturising body spray is a cross between a lotion and a body spray. I've also found that it is excellent for fragrancing your skin as you can smell the scent as clearly as if you were wearing a perfume. When you spray this product on to your skin it is amazing at cooling you down as well as moisturising and highly scenting the skin. If you rub it into the skin it absorbs quickly but you can also just leave it on the skin if you want to cool down. It is much better than the IOE version in my opinion and you can choose from an extensive fragrance list on the Enchanted website.
Strawberry Buttercream is an amazing strawberry milkshake type scent. I bought a scrub in this scent as well because it is so gorgeous. Island Hopping is a summery scent which makes it perfect for spraying on my skin to refresh me and wake me up. It has a lovely tropical, fruity smell.
A 50ml bottle of this spray costs £7.50 which is quite expensive considering the amount you get. However, I do not use mine sparingly and I have plenty left. Also I am of the opinion that it is quality that matters instead of quantity. I am now considering buying a lavender type fragrance to use before bed.
I am not usually a big fan of body sprays- they remind me of the changing rooms after PE at school when everyone went a bit mad with Impulse sprays, resulting in most of us wheezing for the rest of the day!
However when I saw that Enchanted make moisturising body sprays, I thought I would give them a try. Partly because I liked the idea of moisturising my skin while I fragrance it- thinking about it, surely alcohol-based perfumes can't be that kind to the skin? And of course, partly because I'm addicted to so many scents by Enchanted that it was an excuse to buy another product in some unique and gorgeous scents I know that I love!
There is no getting around the fact that this body spray is pricey. At £7.50 for a 50ml spray, this is not something I would usually buy. However I decided to treat myself with my last Dooyoo cheque. I had very high expectations given the price, and because of the price tag I was expecting a strong, long-lasting scent, and to see a noticeable difference in the condition of my skin given it's moisturising properties.
The Enchanted website www.enchantedbath.co.uk describes this products as "A cross between a lotion and a body spray, this lovely water based product provides a light level of moisturisation and good scent hold. Spray directly on to skin for an instant moisture and scent boost." I love the idea of it being a cross between a lotion and a body spray, and hoped it would nourish and care for my skin as well as making me smell delicious!
Any product is available in any scent by Enchanted, which I really like, as it means I can layer the scents by using a body scrub, body wash, body cream, and then a body spray or perfume in the same scent. It is also fun to mix and match the scents to create a unique overall combination of fragrances.
I ordered this spray in Banana Drama, which to me smells of those foam banana sweets I used to get for 2p from the local newsagents when I was little. As all Enchanted products are made to order, it took about a month from the day I ordered till the day I received my goodies. However as I ordered at a friend's Enchanted party, there was a high volume of other orders submitted at the same time, which I think slowed down the process slightly. Previous orders have arrived within 2-3 weeks. In any case, it's always worth the wait!
The spray arrived in a silver canister, with a simple but classy black label listing the product name, fragrance, and list of ingredients. When I squirted it onto my skin, I was surprised to see a small amount of white froth come out of the cannister. It is different to any body spray I have tried. There were no fumes like with traditional Impulse body sprays, and the bubbles in the froth quickly popped, and my skin gobbled up the liquid really fast. I used 3 squirts on each wrist, and the smell was really delicious- lovely and strong, and very accurate. This is such a unique scent, as it is a lovely natural sweet banana smell. It is not nasty and artificial like so many fruit scents on the market these days.
Given that this is only a body spray rather than a perfume, I was impressed with how long the scent lingered for, as I could still smell it a good few hours later. It would need topping up once or twice throughout the day if I was going to wear it as my scent all day long, but I don't think that is unreasonable. My skin was left feeling soft and hydrated. This spray is not a replacement for a deeply moisturising product like a body cream or butter, but for a light daily moisture boost, I think this product really delivers.
Personally I think I prefer the eau de parfams from Enchanted, purely because they last longer and don't need reapplyiong through the day. However of course the eau de parfam is dearer, at £6 for 10ml or £15 for 30ml. At £7.50 for 50ml, when compared to the prices of the eau de parfam, the price of this body spray suddenly seems a lot more reasonable! In addition there are occasional sales where the body sprays have been reduced to a fiver, which I think is very good value.
In summary, if you regularly use body sprays, I would recommend giving these moisturising body sprays from Enchanted a try. They are without doubt a higher quality spray than the ones you get for 99p in the supermarket- they produce no fumes, they are lightly moisturising, and the scent has stronger staying power. I think they would be great for younger girls who are perhaps too young for perfumes, but still enjoy funky fragrances. The price tag is higher than standard body sprays, but given the quality of the product I don't think it's a bad price. Personally I would probably stick with the eau de parfams, purely for the convenience of not having to reapply it throughout the day. However if you're on a budget and the perfumes are out of your price range then the body spray is definitely a nice alternative. Another fab product from Enchanted.
I received my bottle of Moisturising Body Spray in the Spellbinder scent this morning from www.enchantedbath.co.uk and it is fabulous.
The scent is gorgeous (I sprayed it literally as soon as I tore it out of the packaging!) It is described as "An intoxicating fruity-wood fragrance with bergamot and rose top notes, sweet rich blackberries, dry leaves, and an amber base". The amber and blackberries mixed together is the most genuis idea. The two compliment each other perfectly and smell great when applied to the skin. It is exactly as the description says - fruity but woody. Picture yourself picking fruits in a woodland and you are already halfway there as to what the scent is like.
The price per 50ml bottle is £7.50 which is more than your average body spray but this is no average body spray. Forget all the supermarket purchased body sprays because this one knocks them well out of the running. One spray and you will never want to go back! And it comes in a lovely little aluminium spray bottle too.
Again, it is a moisturising body spray and my skin absolutely drinks it in. I sprayed it this morning at about 10am and although the scent has settled down a little bit, I can still smell it strongly. Anoher great buy.
