I got this for Christmas as a present it was part of the FCUK Signature set and I LOVE IT!
It comes in a handy travel sized bottle of 75ml, the bottle itself looks very attractive with a nice purple and gold design, it states to be a fruity oriental frangrance, there is no information on the bottle itself to tell you what goes into making this spray but I still like it.
Its hard to explain the smell but it is very pleasant and quite a sweet smell, I will say ONE spray is enough as it is very strong smelling any more would simply be overpowering (don't want to smell like you bathed in it!)
It comes in a clear plastic spray bottle which is easy to use, it is made in Thailand.
I love this product its great for any time of the day, its size is very practical and fits nicely into my bag and you end up smelling like a million bucks, defo get if you haven't already well worth it!
I got this FCUK body spray as part of a gift set.
I have used a few of their different body sprays over the years and some scents I have been more impressed with than others.
~ Packaging ~
The body spray comes in a clear plastic bottle with a dark purple plastic spray dispenser and lid. The body spray itself is also clear.
The front of the bottle has a clear sticker on with the outline of some flowers drawn in gold. There is a purple band around the bottom of the sticker with the words, 'FCUK body spray - accessorize your body with a fruity oriental fragrance'.
The bottle contains 150ml of body spray and the packaging is recyclable.
~ Price ~
A 150ml bottle of this body spray costs around £4.50, which I think is quite pricey for a body spray.
~ In use ~
The body spray comes out in a fine mist.
It has a very pleasant scent. It has an floral-oriental scent to it, which has a sharpness to it, but there is also a sweet, creaminess to this scent, which helps to balance it out.
The sticker on the back of the bottle describes this as "a seductive body must-have, this body spray is scented with FCUK Signature, a sparkling fruity oriental fragrance. Top notes of luscious, exotic fruits blend over a mysterious and enticing floral bouquet. Simply exotic..."
I can detect fresh, fruity notes in this fragrance when it is first sprayed, but they disappear very quickly and you are left with a strong floral-oriental scent with an added touch of sweet, creaminess.
I think it has quite a sophisticated and expensive smell.
It lasts for a few hours on my skin, before fading away, offering a nice boost of freshness during the day.
Being quite a heavy, strong scent I find this is one you have to be in the mood to wear. It can be a bit headache inducing sometimes.
I have been known to carry this around with me in my handbag, but I do prefer to carry aerosols as I have known these type of bottles to leak before and I could do without the worry of that happening again.
The bottle is a bit bigger than your average 75ml aerosol body spray as well, but my handbag is big enough for it.
This tends to be one I leave at home on the shelf and just use now and again before going out.
It has lasted me well so far and there is still plenty left in the bottle so this should keep me going for quite some time.
I really like the scent of this body spray and I would consider buying it again in the future if I was ever to run out.
I think it is appropriate for women of all ages. I think some people may find it a bit harsh as floral-oriental scents can often be, but it is down to personal taste really.
~ Conclusion ~
I really like the scent of this body spray. I think it smells quite expensive.
I like the bottle design, although it is fairly plain and simple, it suits the scent inside. I don't mean that in a bad way.
The scent lingers on your skin for a while after spraying. I have found that it's a scent that you have to be in the mood for. Sometimes it irritates me and I find it a bit headache inducing.
I think it is quite expensive at £4.50 a bottle, but mine has lasted me quite a while.
I would consider repurchasing this body spray as I really like the scent.
My sister and I are fans of the FCUK range and sometime in January sales I picked up a box set of the FCUK Signature body range. It contained a body lotion, scrub, a shower puff and this body spray. It was on sale for about £6 or so in Boots so I couldn't resist!
The spray is a little plastic bottle which is transparent with an elegant gold and purple design and trim. I have a rather small 75ml sized bottle which is quite a nice handy travel size and can be thrown into my handbag easily and doesn't take up too much room. The only downside to this body spray is it really looks and reminds me of a room and linen air freshener! It has the usual removable cap and spray pump feature which does look a bit basic but I guess you pay for what you get.
The liquid looks like water, but one spray and it proves there is nothing watery about this at all! The scent is described as a fruity, oriental scent which is "simply exotic". To me on first spray it comes out really strong and is really sweet but really sharp at the same time. It does have an oriental twist to it in that it reminds me of a blend of vanilla, rose, jasmine with a teeny citrus undertone. There is not actually any scent notes given on the bottle but from my opinion this is the best way to describe it!
As I mentioned one spray is enough to cover my whole body and it soaks into my clothes well. It is much more like a perfume though than like a body spray so it does not need to be used as frequently. The lasting power with this is a bit weak, as within a few hours the smell really is practically non-existent. However, whilst it is on, it is a nice warm, sensual smell which I think is much more well suited to warm, summery weather than on a cold winter day as it fades rather rapidly.
I have since seen a bottle of this in the 150ml bottle costing only £1.15 in the sale on the FCUK website so I absolutely know it has most likely been discontinued and perhaps not so popular at this price! However, it is not awful and combined with the other products in the range it does actually smell quite nice and I have liked using it.
Overall I would recommend this body spray as it smells nice, just only use a little at a time! It's a shame about the longevity of the wear so I'd have to knock off 2 stars.
In a previous review I mentioned how much I like the French Connection toiletries range. I love their Pure collection but I adore their Signature range!
FCUK Signature Body Spray:
'French Connection body spray is scented with FCUK Signature, a sparkling fruity oriental fragrance. Spray over the body anytime of the day for an all-over fragrance'
I tried the Signature range for the first time early this year in a large gift set I received as a Christmas present. When I opened the bag I was expecting to see the Pure range again but to my surprise it was the newer Signature products!
First item I tried was the body spray; I do use a lot of sprays so was intrigued to see what this smelt like. It states that it is a fruity oriental fragrance. As I like my scents to be on the fruity side I dived right it! My first impressions were that is was a rather different from their Pure collection.
The scent was rather sweet, slightly fruity with hints of vanilla from the FCUK fragrances this one has to be my favourite one. First applying the Signature body spray you would think the staying power would be brilliant as it is a little strong at first. However it soon mellows down then lingers for a good few hours.
Once it has been sat on my skin awhile I find the aroma to be lovely, warm and sweet. With soft fruity, slightly rich scents and a small dose of vanilla. I'm not sure if vanilla is in the fragrance at all but I certainly smell it.
The bottle looks rather classy with French Connection taking a more up market feel, the liquid is clear and I haven't noticed any staining when spraying over clothing. It is a plastic bottle which does let the feel down slight but I guess this saved on costing.
It is a spray lid top, nice and easy to squirt I haven't had any problems with the bottles I have purchased so far. Once empty can be recycled.
Price and Availability:
To buy this body spray on its own the 150ml will cost you around £4.50, it does last me a couple of months so I think it is good value. You can also get this in some awesome gift sets from Boots on the run up to Christmas.
I would fully recommend this body spray; it develops into a lovely scent which has a good staying power. Great for when out and about to freshen up.
Five out five stars from me.
Thank you for reading.
After Christmas I was lucky enough to find a FCUK (French Connection) bag in the sale at boots for a bargain 70% off, not only was I super impressed with getting a FCUK for such a great price it also came with toiletries inside. Now it had been quite some time since I purchased any FCUK branded toiletries so I was really looking forward to trying them out. One of the items contained in the bag was a bottle of FCUK signiture bodyspray.
The body spray came in a 150ml bottle, obviously this was part of the set that came in the bag which I paid just £10.75 for. I have looked to purchase this body spray separately since but have yet been able to track it down which is a little disappointing.
The bodyspray comes in a clear plastic bottle with a purple pump action spray top dispenser which is covered with a clear plastic cap. The bottle is very elegant looking with gold floral outlines on the front and a small purple band that wraps around the bottom of the bottle which details information about the bodyspray on it. It states on the label to 'accessorize your body with a fruity oriental fragrance'. On the back of the bottle there is a little more information about the body spray as well as directions for use.
The bodyspray is said to be scented with the FCUK signature perfume which is described as a fruity oriental fragrance with top notes of exotic fruits over a mysterious floral bouquet.
The bodyspray is really easy to dispense from the pump spray dispenser which sprays the clear bodyspray in a fine mist. The bodyspray does seem a little wet like water at first but seems to quickly dry and as it is clear it does not stain on your clothing. I tend to spray the body spray lightly on my skin after moisturising then give my clothing a little spritz too just to make the scent more noticeable. The scent itself in my opinion is just lovely, it has been a while since I used a body spray rather than a perfume but this is one that I will certainly be purchasing again, that is if I can track it down! It does have quite a fruity fragrance but also a nice light floral one too which seem to work together perfectly to give a lovely fresh, slightly sweet scent. I think the only downside is that the fragrance does not seem very long lasting but to be honest this is only a bodyspray and it does not have the strength of a perfume.
Overall I think this is beautiful, delicately fragranced body spray that I would certainly recommend for anyone to try. Personally I always associated body sprays for being more for teenagers but this seems to be a more grown-up version and also is much cheaper than purchasing a perfume for everyday use.
(Sorry about the title!!)
A few months ago I cashed in a substantial amount of vouchers that I had been saving towards on a survey site. Having perused the choice of where to spend them, I opted for good old Boots the chemist so I could go and indulge my love of buying beauty items for 'free'.
One of the items I came home with was this body spray by French Connection UK, or as they are more commonly know 'FCUK'. Though FCUK are responsible for many different fragrances for both men and women along with a strong iconic clothing line, it is the body spray version of their Signature scent that my review focuses on, so lets begin..
Price, Packaging & Availability*~*
When I went into Boots on a mini shopping expedition recently my main aim was to buy the entire range of their own Natural Collection as I used to spend a lot of money on these products years ago and was always very pleased with the majority. Having found that my local Boots had somewhat downsized this collection I was disappointed so started looking elsewhere when I spotted a rather large FCUK display nearby. I was amazed at the prices, given that this is considered a "premium" brand I found that the full sized perfumes were only £11 to £15 which I deemed to be very good value. After a quick spray of the various testers I decided that the Signature scent was my favourite, but decided to purchase the body spray version as it was only a reasonable £1.99 for a 75 ml.
The packaging for this body spray is actually quite attractive and very aesthetically pleasing unlike some spray versions of fragrances which are quite basic and plain, this is certainly not.
The spray is presented in an upright standing, slimline cylindrical shaped bottle. The bottle, which is made of recyclable plastic, is almost entirely transparent as is the liquid itself.
Apart from an unobtrusive golden etch of a flower on the front the bottle itself features a dark purple stripe at the bottom and has a matching theme at the top where the there is also the deep alluring purple colour that is used on the nozzle and lid.
The Signature scent is described as being Oriental/ Fruity with a Floral Bouquet and apart from this description I am unable to find any more relevant information on it. I found this disappointing as I have quite an extensive collection of fragrances (ranging from parfum's, EDT's through to body sprays) and I do like to know which notes are used to see if I am able to notice them when I am wearing that particular scent.
My experience of wearing this*~*
Removing the lid there is an easy to use plastic nozzle which emits a fine mist when pressed. The consistency is very thin and watery as is the appearance and because of this the spray comes out very fast when applied.
As this opens with oriental notes it's quite a heavy scent so I'm glad I opted to buy the body spray format and not the EDT as I think that would have been a little bit too strong.
The thing I noticed when I wore this for the first time was the strength of the body spray - it is almost on a par with the EDT which for the price I paid for this made it very good value and an economical buy.
The scent is difficult for me to describe but I'll do my best! It opens with obvious oriental notes and is very woody with a slight hint of musk. After the spray started to dry on my skin (this takes a good few minutes) there was a definite floral vibe and to me I could detect water lily? I'm no expert though so could be completely wrong but it is definitely a very delicate floral note that is used as it compliments the heaviness of the opening musky notes by counteracting them and toning the overall scent down.
After about ten minutes the overall scent that was left on my skin was one that was a soft, earthy and musky fragrance which just had the most beautiful smell about it. For a body spray I was highly impressed with the longevity of this as a few sporadic spritzes all over my body in the morning was still evident several hours later - for a body spray this is very good in my opinion as I have had full strength parfums that haven't lasted nowhere near as long.
Though I bought this whilst priced at £1.99 it is available for around £4.50 and even at this price I still think it is very good value as it just lasts. Though the bottle for the actual perfume is very attractive I am glad I didn't spend the money on it as the spray lasts such a long time and has the staying power equal to an EDT so this is highly recommended.
If you are a fan of oriental fragrances then I would really suggest this as it is a beautiful, long lasting scent that if bought in body spray format is also a very economical buy.
