I looked this product up after I had been using this for a couple of weeks. It had given me a very nasty, bumpy, itchy rash! Just to make sure I stopped using it for a few days and the rash calmed down. I used it again today and it has come back after a couple of hours wearing it. I have had to wash it off as I am now quite sore! It is going in the bin! I have never had a reaction to any roll on deodorant before! I shall never use it again! WARNING ! DON'T USE !
I also had a reaction to this product. It actually took me a few months to work out that it was this deodorant that was causing the problem as the reaction built from an occasional rash to an itchy, bumpy, painful rash that wouldn't go away. That progressed into actual sores. I completely stopped using it a couple of weeks ago and switched to another brand. Now the rash has almost completely disappeared and the sores are healing rapidly.
I used this deodrant for the first time two years ago and came out in a rash which then turned to red inflamed burning sore skin under both my armpits for two weeks I couldn't wear any deodrant to keep myself fresh until it started to fade then just the other day whilst in shopping I picked it up totally forgeting the disaster that had happened before! So used It the previous day only for the red really itchy rash to appear which then turned to the red sore inflamed weepy way that it had done the previous time that's when I remembered it was the same deodrant from before I strongly advise people not to buy or use it I'm still in pain with it and its not exactly clearing up fast really think there should be a warning about this brand/make as no other deodrant in 20 years has made me have a reaction like that.
I seem not to be the only one to have developed a horrid reaction to this product!
I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this Mineral Invisible Anti-perspirant! They claim it works for 48 hours but I was lucky if it lasted 4 hours! - And I don't sweat that much! The best thing about this product is the on-off slider! This is the worst anti-perspirant EVER!
I thought I'd try the Garnier UltraDry as a change from my usual and I think it was on offer - I was OK for a while with it, but suddenly got an itchy rash, first under one arm, then both.
I got red pimples but also some of the skin was raw, thin & inflamed.
Very disappointing, after all this business of "no alcohol and no parabens". I've never had an allergy to a deodorant before, and as a result of this experience I do not feel I could ever trust any of Garnier's products.
After struggling to cool the rash with Calamine I eventually got it under control with Witch Hazel. It took the best part of a month for the rash to go completely, during which time I didn't use any deodorant at all. Trying again with Garnier the rash came back.
Never again! Waste of money!
Thanks to my mum buying toiletries when they are on offer, I have an array of deodorants and shower gels to use up. When my deodorant ran out this week, I just stuck my hand into the bag she gave me, and this was the first deodorant that came out.
This product claims to be 'specially designed for ultimate 48 hour protection even under extreme conditions'. What kind of extreme conditions these may be, I do not know. Apparently it is also 'enriched with powerful Mineralite, an ultra-absorbent mineral from volcanic origin that naturally and continuously absorbs perspiration.' Oooh volcanoes... FANCY.
It's great that Garnier make all these claims, but look guys, all I pretty much want from a deodorant is a) for it to make me less sweaty, and b) not to smell of BO.
This Garnier Mineral Ultra Antiperspirant Deodorant comes in either 150ml or 250ml bottles. I have the 250ml bottle, which is great for keeping in the bathroom/bedroom. Handbag-sized it is NOT... unless you have a huge celeb-type handbag that is bigger than you are.
The bottle itself is mainly white, with a picture on the front of some crystals. The top of it is green - there is no lid so you can just spray it as and when it is needed.
This has no specific scent. It's quite a cool, fresh smell, and both men and women could get away with using this I reckon. The smell of it did strike me as a bit 'school changing rooms', but I prefer strong, fresh smells of deodorant as I always feel they work better than more light, floral scents.
When I sprayed this, it didn't feel too wet under my arms. It dried quickly, and created no white marks or chalkiness. I had quite a busy day today so this deodorant really got put to the test.
I sprayed this at 7.30am before heading to work. I had a stressful meeting and did get a bit hot and flustered, but I didn't sweat too much, nor did I smell the deodorant. When I went home at lunchtime I didn't need to apply this again despite my stressful morning. I decided to apply it again anyway just to be on the safe side. That was at 1pm. After that I came home, cleaned the house, then took my dog out for a walk - we went 3 miles or so and it was a reasonably warm day. Again I didn't feel I was sweating too much and I didn't smell.
DOES THIS LAST FOR 48 HOURS?
I have no idea - nor do I ever plan on finding out. Unless I get stranded somewhere with no money and no deodorant, I doubt I will ever *need* to go for 48 hours without having a shower, a wash, or spraying deodorant. You are very welcome to try it, but I certainly won't be!
This costs around £3 for the 250ml bottle, and around £2.29 for the 150ml bottle. I didn't pay for this, but I would say that the 250ml version offers much better value for money.
WOULD I BUY THIS?
Yes, I would buy this. £3 is a tad pricey but when it comes to deodorant I don't really want to take chances on a cheap product. I was sufficiently impressed enough with the longevity of this product to find the £3 price tag worth it.
This is a review of Garnier invisimineral deodorant. It's unique feature is that it lasts 48 hours and is also anti white marks. I always buy roll ons as I hate the sensations that a spray on deodorant leaves in my throat and I start to choke when I am in the same room as anyone using one!
I bought two of these roll on deodorants from the supermarket on offer for around the £3 mark. Each roll on is 50 ml.
I have had good results from mineral makeup so figured this deodorant may be OK too. It was on offer which is always a good point in my mind and I needed a couple of deodorants during the summer as I was going on holiday for a month and didn't want to run out whilst away.
First of all, I do wonder who wants their deodorant to last 48 hours. Surely there's chance to have a wash within a two day window? I really only want mine to last 24 hours unless I am going on a very long journey so I'm not sure why this is such an important feature on a deodorant other than it makes you think 'this must be really good!'
Does it work?
This works fine but is to me a normal roll on and is nothing beyond any other I have used. I like to buy whatever is on offer and don't go for the same type of anti perspirant every time, I do think your body gets used to it if you use the same one for years.
To me it smells nice and fresh and a little minty. Perfect amount of fragrance.
Kind to skin
I have in the past had bad reactions to deodorants where they are too drying on the skin to the point where they become itchy, but I find this particular deodorant just right.
If it was on offer I would buy this again. It has not marked my clothes in any way and whilst I don't necessarily agree with the 48 hour claim, I didn't buy it for that purpose anyway.
The roll on is a pleasing hourglass shape so easy to hold and it sits upside down so is ready for use straight away as all the liquid falls on to the roller ball inside. It is a green colour and has an easy to remove screw cap. The label proclaims it as a 'new' product and has a little black dress on it to promote the anti white feature.
This is a good deodorant and works well for me. I like the smell of it and the application feels just right with a quick drying time for clothing going on afterwards. I would rebuy but only if the price is competitive with other roll ons. This roll on has also lasted me ages - I didn't need to take two of them away really as one was more than adequate.
I am pretty sure this deodorant comes in 2 sizes, 150ml and 250ml, the price for these is usually around £2.00 for the small one and up to £3.00 for the larger one.
In my opinion, I liked the price tag until I seen the results of this deodorant.
With its size being 250ml, its very big, long and tall, so this isn't great to carry around in your handbag ( unless its pretty big! ) as it tends to take up a lot of space.
The can is white in colour and fades down to a light blue and has the Garnier logo on the front along with a lot more useful information which is spread around the can in the colours light green and a light blue.
The lid is pale green in colour and there is a safety lock which is useful for if it is in your handbag, it won't go off and also handy for if you have kids and they like to test out your new stuff!
Overall, the can really reminds me of the TV advert, on the advert is a woman who looks as if she is in a forest, it looks very fresh and clean and she herself looks very natural, looking at this can I get the exact same message, its very natural and fresh looking, doesn't look cheap at all.
After using Garnier hair products, I found them to be great and really good for me and I this is why I picked up this deodorant, I was hoping to get the same results from it, and it was on offer too!
The deodorant promises that it is anti-white marks and will give you 48hours freshness and dryness, it also says it has a long lasting fragrance, well lets see if it lived up to what it said..
Well, it doesn't feel uncomfortable in your hand, very easy to hold, I do find it a bit difficult to spray though but I find this with almost everything, reason being I'm just a weak duckling me thinks!
When first sprayed the deodorant felt very wet under my arms and instantly I was put off the deodorant because I am so used to having a dry feeling with the other deodorants I use.
After a few seconds of being on my under arms began to really itch and I have never experienced this before but I think it was down to the wet feeling and just not being used to it, the itching feeling stopped after around 10 minutes anyway..
So, was there any white marks?
Yes, hate to say it but as I sprayed a lot of white powder fell onto my clothes and skin, I have been using this for over a week and still find the same problem happening again and again!
How about 48 hours freshness and dryness?
I shower everyday so couldn't tell you about the 48 hour freshness and dry thing, but I can tell you about if it provides 24 hour freshness and dryness, well it does...BUT for the first few hours it feels quite wet on, this isn't sweat its just the deodorant feeling sticky and wet, eventually it dries up though and then feels fine and keeps me dry and fresh for the rest of the day, barely has to be reapplied unless I am doing some serious work and working up a sweat!
What about the long lasting fragrance?
I have to say it has a gorgeous fragrance which you can really smell throughout the whole day, the smell reminds me of the Charlie perfume collection, it has something like that about it, its very fresh and girly and the smell is quite strong and I can even smell it over my perfume ( probably because I'm using a crap one at the minute though! )
My overall opinion of this is its just okay, nothing special and it definitely doesn't live up to its expectations, I wouldn't buy it again because of the way it leaves you feeling wet for a few hours and has a lot of white powder, it is good though with the way it smells so good and the dryness after a few hours! but just remember, this could work great for some people..different things work for different people!
Garnier mineral 48 hour invisible anti-perspirant is not a name that immediately trips off the tongue, but is certainly one worth remembering on your next shopping outing in my opinion. In fact I am a bit surprised to be writing such a positive review for one that appears to have a mixed reaction on Dooyoo. Without any anti-perspirant I am not the dryest person, and for the past four years the only deodorant I have worn is Revlon's Mitchum aerosol, and I genuinely believe this Garnier deodorant is a close second, and is better than Mitchum in some areas.
The Garnier deodorant is available in a 150 ml and 250 ml can, I have the 250 ml can and it stands at about a foot tall. It does look quite bulky, too big for a handbag, although I think the 150 ml would serve this pirpose well. It has a simple green, white and baby blue colour scheme, and I personally think it looks more attractive than the Mitchum bottle I now have next to it.
Looks winner Garnier
Running total: Garnier vs Mitchum 1-0
Ease of Use
The Garnier comes without a cap and instead has a ridged slider on the back, which you can slide back and forth to lock and unlock the deodrant, being big the can is still easy to hold, aided by the grip on the spray top. Both produce a fine mist of equal quality per spray. I always lose the cap on my Mitchum, and it falls off in my bag quite a lot, so not one I recommend to carry with you.
Ease of use winner: Garnier
Running total: 2-0 to Garnier
I have the Garnier Invisible which I expected to be unperfumed but it's actually a nice clean shower scent, in fact exactly like my Boots Natural Collection Samphire and Sea Minerals Body Spray. There is another option which is called Fresh, although I think my deodorant smells fresh enough. Mitchum make four varieties for women: Powder Fresh, Waterlily, Shower Fresh and Unperfumed. Out of all the scents the most similar to the Garnier is the Shower Fresh, but I think the Garnier smells less chemical. Neither of these brands leave a lasting scent for long, but with the Garnier particularly, I can easily add some Natural Collection body spray throughout the day to top up.
Scent Range winner: Mitchum
My favourite scent: Garnier
Running total: 3-1 to Garnier
White Mark Minimisation
Garnier's invisible surely isn't called invisible for nothing right? Well initially no I did get white marks with the first five or so uses, but since then I have no white marks to report. I find the Mitchum range has improved the white mark reduction, but I do still notice white marks on my black clothes.
White Mark Minimisation Winner: Garnier
Running Total: Garnier 4-1
Stay dry promise?
I would argue that neither of these deodorants make the forty eight hours, I have usually showered before then anyway. When I wake up in a morning, just before my daily shower, I do notice that I do feel dryer and fresher with the Mitchum, but I do feel as though I need a reapplication or shower with both with gentle wear. I still sweat with both when exercising, although the Mitchum less so. This is not to say the Garnier is bad, far from it, I certainly make it all the way before going to bed feeling fresh, and with no need to reapply.
Stay Dry winner: Mitchum - it is still the best mass market anti-perspirant
Running total: 4-2 to Garnier
I am pleased to say both are alcohol free. Garnier use natural volcanic minerals and state the product is paraben free, the Mitchum does explicitly state this, although I can't see any in the ingredients. After shaving, I would definitely say the Garnier is more gentle. Although I get stinging with both as I often apply deodorant straight after shaving.
Sensitive Skin winner: Garnier
Running total: 5-2 to Garnier
Price and Availability?
Both of these products are easily available at all good supermarkets and large chemists. A 200 ml bottle of Mitchum is close to £3 with the Garnier following behing at about £2.80 but for 250 ml. As far as value is concerned this makes the Garnier the better buy.
Price winner: Garnier
Grand total: Garnier 6-2 Mitchum.
The above score would suggest that I think Garnier is the best out of these two 48 hour deodorants, in terms of keeping you dry the Mitchum is the winner, which is surely the main reason for buying the deodorant. As I have mentioned Garnier does have some redeeming features. I would recommend to those that swear by Mitchum to give it a go on the less hot and strenuous days, as I think my skin feels better for it, and switch back to Mitchum for the hot and stressful situations. If you normally use a twenty four hour deodorant which is more gentle, which is fine for the less strenuous days, but doesn't hold up to other situations I would also recommend giving the Garnier a go as it will probably more than suffice for those times when you really want to stay fresh and dry.
Rating: I think these are both five star deodorants for different reasons, for a more lightweight (in a good way) alternative to Mitchum, I highly recommend Garnier Mineral Invisible 48 hour anti-perspirant deodorant. (Phew!)
I bought this deodorant because it was on offer in boots last time I needed a new one and I do like to save money on toiletries where ever possible. Garnier as a brand have a good reputation for me making good basic products but as with many of their more innovative features the 48hr protection leaves me unconvinced.
This is a roll on deodorant very much like any other in how it works- a rolling ball at the top enables you to roll the liquid deodorant onto your underarm. The product shape however is very different, instead of the usual conical shape, it is more of a thin hour glass widening at the top to accomodate the ball. I find this unique shae to be an advantage. If your hands are wet from when you do to ut on your deodorant, unlike the customary shape which if slippery is difficult to hold, this shape allows for very easy grip-definately an improvement on other deodorants.
The label and cap are bright blue and green. An attractive and fresh looking shade making the product look inviting.
A problem I have experienced with many deodorants is that the ball often gets stuck or dries out quickly. I am pleased to say I have never experienced either problem with this product (although I have not had it for long so will update this review if either does start to occur.)
The deodorant has a mild but very fresh smell. The liquid is not too thick and pleasantly cooling as you apply it. Although a creamy texture and white colour, it drys quickly and I have not experienced any problems at all with white marks. Once dry(only takes a few seconds) this deodorant has kept me dry for the day and I have felt fresh. I have also noticed that it doesn't dry out the skin on my underarms and as it says on the label this deodorant contains no alcohol-something I look out for in a deodorant.
~~48 hr claim~~
As much as it is an innovative idea I would like to think there are few people who would try using just one application for 48hrs and I certainly would not-although I gave it a go for the purposes of writing this review fairly. Used for my normal length of time-about 12 hrs this deodorant is my favourite of the many different ones I have used. Even if I then go out for the evening/night it lasts fine and keeps me fresh and dry. This is for a maximum of 16hrs though.
My experience of testing the deodorant for 48hrs wasn't a complete disaster. The deodorant kept me almost dry and relatively odour free. Having said that though- I tested it out over a few days when I was not leaving the house and did nothing more strenuous than climbing a flight of stairs a few times every day. By the second day I certainly didn't feel very fresh. I think if I had been conducting my normal routines- walking everywhere, dance class and practice this deodorant would definately not have held up and for doing anything more than sitting round the house I would not advise anyone to try using it for 48hrs.
Overall, ignoring the 48hr claim this is a great deodorant and one I will buy in future. The price is round about the same as other deodorants although it is sometimes on offer. Despite it being my new favourite, in my rating I cannot ignore the fact that it makes the 48hr claim which it does not hold up to and for that reason I have taken off one star.
Don't get me wrong, I do find this deodorant to be effective. (Before you ask, yes I have tried about 15 and been disappointed every time) I do think it lasts 12-15 hours, but 48.. not with me!
I find that sweating has affected me throughout school and is still an issue up until I brought this product. I had roll-ons, powders, ones that you used over-night and still didn't really find any of these useful (or in the case of the over night one, always able to do it). So I brought this product about 6 months ago, on special offer £2, and thought why not? I was lead on with the 2 days of dryness, because even though I doubted it, I did think well it probably does last for 12 hours.
I am impressed with the product, it does dry very quickly, and I find it keeps me sweat free for hours, and it doesn't smell over powering either, meaning your perfume isn't pushed away.
I have recommend this product to others as just a general deodorant, because I don't think it is for people who suffer with profusely sweating, yet find that reapplying everyday sometimes twice is day is sufficient for me and it works well.
I would not recommend this product if you are looking for an extra special deodorant, and are sick of being let down, and also if you sweat badly. Go for something stronger, like one that you can wear over night.
I've always been told that you should change the brand of deodorant that you use every six months so that your body doesn't become too used to that brand that you are using. I don't know if this is true or not but, out of fear of smelling, I have always switched my deodorant every six months. Usually, I use Dove so when my six month period was up I had to go out and find another deodorant that would give me the same protection.
== Garnier Mineral Deodorant ==
This Garnier deodorant claims to be 'enriched with mineralite' to allow your skin to breathe whilst giving complete anti-perspirant protection. This deodorant is alcohol and paraben free.
I'm not sure how much this RRPs at but I picked it up on offer in Wilkos for around £1.
== Packaging ==
This is a roll on deodorant that comes in a bottle which I can only describe as being '8 shaped' (the shape of an 8). The lid of the bottle is on the bottom with the base being flat to allow the bottle to stand.
The bottle is plain white and has green and black writing describing the product. This product claims to provide '48 hour silky smooth underarms'. The lid of the bottle is green with a pink outline; there are no descriptions on the lid. The caps is a twist and pull and is very easy to remove, however, if you do not put it back on tight enough it will fall off easily.
== The Deodorant ==
The deodorant itself is very thick and white. It has a faint fruity smell which isn't too strong and struggles to cover up the chemical-y smell that comes with the product (this reminds me of cheap washing up liquid).
== Thoughts ==
I found that it was quite difficult to get the ball rolling in the bottle as the deodorant itself is so thick it doesn't seem like it is going to be able to fit through that ball. However, given some time and patience, I eventually got it to work properly and after this is worked effectively every time I used it.
The fact that the deodorant is so thick means that you only need to apply once in the morning to allow complete coverage and protection throughout the day. This was great as this one bottle seemed to last 3 months, rather than the 21 that I would usually get out of Dove's deodorant. Surprisingly, the thick deodorant did not leave any white marks which is another bonus!
As I picked this up on offer, I am not sure how much it usually RRPs at but I would recommend paying the full price if you have to as it does last a long time and it is very effective.
The only problem that I had with this deodorant was that the fruity smell didn't cover up the cheap chemical-y smell that seems to come with cheap deodorants and made me feel like I was actually wearing a cheap deodorant. If you can see past this then this would be the perfect product for you. Sadly, it did put me off enough to only buy it again if it was on offer and I was switching from Dove for a short time.
As for the '48 hour silky smooth underams' part, my underarms just felt the same as they usually do, whether that is silky smooth or not I do not know but I wouldn't hold them to this claim.
I'm not too fussy what deodorant I use aslong as it works so when I saw this on promotions I thought i'd give it a try. It usually sells for £2.80 but seems to be an offer at £2 in numerous places at the moment which for a 250ml tin seems pretty reasonable.
The tin is white with a green crystal on it and green and black writing on it with the garnier leaf, it has a green lid and has a sliding switch to stop you squirting it accidently which I thinks great if you travel. On the rear you have the usual ingredients, caution for pressurised containers and a warning about solvent abuse. The deodorant states it contains no alcohol and no parabens - whatever they are!
So what claims do they make? fresh intense fragrance for 48 hours, allows skin to breathe, anti odour and anti humidity. So are the claims true? in a word no, the deodorant has a lovely fresh woody fragrance and does offer protection but not for 4r8 hours. I like this deodorant as it is a powerful squirt so you don't seem to use much and you can put a black top straight on with no white marks. I like the fact that I can lock the aerosol to prevent my 3 year old setting it off and that it keeps me feeling fresh for the day.
I would recommend this product, it's not badly priced and I really like the scent and the tin seems to last forever.
Recently I've noticed quite a few reviews about Garnier Mineral Deodorant and they seem to be split into opposite extremes. Some people love it and rave about it and others find it useless. As a fan of the crystal deodorants you can buy I found myself intrigued by this product and had to give it a try. On a trip to Boyes not long ago I noticed they had some for 99p so I chose the sensitive roll on from this range.
The bottle for this roll on is a bit odd, well not so much the bottle as the lid. The product stands on the lid and it has 2 sections either side where the lid snaps back on, to be honest if I'm in a rush or I have damp hads I find this lid a bit annoying. The sensitive version I chose smells alot like talcum powder and claims to give 48 hour protection with no alcohol, no parabens and sweet almond oil to soothe the skin. Sounds good so far. It is actually an anti-perspirant rather than a deodorant even though Garnier have called it both on the front label.
The mineral is something Garnier have called mineralite and then on the back have given the information "mineralite=perlite" so it's perlite really. Perlite is a porous rock that gets more porous the hotter it gets so it should work well in theory. As I said before I often use the crystal deodorants and find they work really well for me so I'm not really a particularly sweaty person, nor do I indulge in lots of sports because my joints don't allow me to, so I'm not an extreme example in any way.
The first time I used this roll on I found some rather sharp grains of white stuff on the ball, I hoped this would be a one off but I've actually found them several times since and if you don't notice them and roll away under your arms it can be quite painful. I suspect this is something to do with the perlite as the crystal deodorants can sometimes get sharp edges too. I found if I rub my thumb over the ball first I can remove these. Once I'd applied it I found it took a few minutes to dry, I've used roll ons that take longer and some that take less time so nothing out of the ordinary there. It wasn't especially warm when I first started using this, it was the beginning of winter after all and initially it worked very well.
However, fast forward a couple of weeks and the temperature in our part of the UK plummeted to minus 15 so everyone was layering their clothes and having their heating turned up to hothouse temperatures and that's when this stopped being effective. I found when I went inside with the heat turned up this roll on didn't prevent wetness. There was no nasty odours so it did work for that but it really let me down from an anti-perspirant viewpoint. The warmer I got the stronger the talc scent got from this which wasn't a huge problem but I don't really like my deodorant to outdo my perfume! I persevered for a few more days during this very cold weather outside and very hot houses inside era but it really just wasn't keeping my underarms dry if I got warm. That proves to me this wouldn't work for me in the summer so I've actually binned mine and gone back to other brands.
I'm obviously in the "it's not for me camp" and wouldn't hurry to recommend it to others but I'm well aware some people really like it. I don't really know why it's so hit and miss but it's a definite miss for me. A lowly 2 star rating from me and I don't recommend it.
