For most toiletries, I am not really loyal to any brand, except when it comes to deodorant; I have a huge fear of smelling so when I find a brand that works, I stick to it. For around 7years now, this is the brand I have been using on a daily basis.
The deodorant can be found in most supermarkets and places such as Superdrug and Wilkos, surprisingly though, this isn’t stocked online at Boots which I think is quite strange. There are two different sizes available, a 100ml canister which retails for around £2 and a 250ml canister for around £3, I do think this is expensive when compared to similar brands on the market however it is one brand that is frequently on offer. I normally go for the bigger bottles and pick them up from Superdrug when they are ‘better than half price’.
The deodorant comes in a tall white bottle which is topped with a pale green spray; it doesn’t have a lid as such however the spray does have a little slider switch on the back so you can lock this when not in use. The front of the bottle is the Garnier logo in black lettering, beneath which is a pale green pattern.
In all the time I have been using this, I have only ever ones experienced an issue with the deodorant not coming out the bottle and that was last week, it seems to have blocked completely and just wouldn’t come out the canister. Luckily, there wasn’t much left and I had a few stashed away on the bathroom so I just started a new one.
The deodorant has a really nice fresh clean smell to it and I would say it is quite summery, when I give myself a top up at work, several people have commented on how nice I smell. Garnier claim that this will give you 48hour protection, to be honest, I have never tried this out as I shower daily however the next morning, and I still smell lovely and clean.
When applying, the deodorant doesn’t sting like others have in the past; it comes out the canister easily, in a nice fine mist and doesn’t leave that ‘wet’ feeling that other deodorants have in the past. It dries almost instantly, my morning routine is that I get dressed immediately after applying and I have never suffered with any marks on my clothes.
After applying, the skin under my arms looks and feels really soft so I think the moisturising elements on the deodorant are excellent.
I would recommend this deodorant; it keeps me fresh and dry all day long which means I only have to reapply in extreme circumstances so it lasts me ages. This gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
I'm quite fussy as far as deodorant is concerned. I know which ones are my favourites, which ones to avoid and which ones are just 'okay'. A deodorant that I often use is Garnier Mineral Ultra Dry (Ultimate Protection 48hr).
The deodorant comes in a 150ml aerosol can. The can is white and has a green coloured top. It looks nice enough. It doesn't have a lid, instead you push down on the top of the can to spray the deodorant. This is much more convenient than faffing around taking off/putting on the lid every time you want to use the deodorant. It also has a lock on it, which ensures it doesn't spray when you don't want it to - this makes it suitable for taking out and about in your bag etc (and is also handy if you have young children in the house).
The smell of a deodorant is very important to me. A lot of deodorants smell chemically and wrong. Garnier Mineral smells lovely and nothing like you would expect. It smells more like a body spray or perfume than a deodorant. It's very strong, florally, womanly and is one of my most favourite smelling deodorants ever!
Garnier Mineral is an anti-perspirant that contains no alcohol. It is said to be 'enriched with mineralite, an ultra-absorbent mineral from volcanic origin' and is said to offer '48hr non-stop protection against perspiration'. The deodorant is really kind to my skin, I have never had irritation whilst using the deodorant (even after shaving). My underarms always seem soft and smooth whilst using it.
The '48hr non-stop protection' claim is a bit of an exaggeration - I don't think there will ever be a deodorant that protects for 2 days! However the deodorant is very effective and I am happy to wear it all day long, usually without the need to re-apply (depending on my level of activity of course. I would want to re-apply if I were doing lots of exercise etc). In my experience many anti-perspirants don't tackle perspiration like they promise to and some anti-perspirants even make perspiration worse! I feel confident using Garnier Mineral and know that I won't get clammy or wet underarms, which can cause wet patches on clothes and destroy confidence. I applied today's deodorant about 3 hours ago, I just touched my underarms (nice!) and they're bone dry. I also quite like the fact that the 'ultra-absorbent mineral' is from a natural source, even if the rest of the deodorant isn't!
The directions state that you should hold the can 15cm from the underarms and spray. I'm pleased to say that I haven't experienced any white marks from this deodorant.
Garnier is said to test their products human volunteers rather than unwilling animals. Although there isn't any information on the can regarding testing and not very much on the website either, which I find slightly worrying. I would strongly consider switching brands if I discovered that Garnier tested their products on animals...
Garnier Mineral Ultra Dry can be found in most supermarkets etc. It generally costs around £2.00, which I think is a reasonable price to pay for a good anti-perspirant deodorant. You can quite often find it on offer too (I got my most recent can for just £1.00). I'm happy to recommend.
I loved this product!!! It works extremely well and there is no need to keep topping up with deodorant after every use. Also i am a very sporty person and i only had to put it on once a day. It is a very reliable deodorant that has a great smell to it and is very attractive.
It comes in a few different scents and all of them were appealing to me. Although it says it lasts for 48 hours, I have not tried it for that long as it is hard to trust any deodorant for this long. However given how well it lasted throughout the day i would not be surprised if it did work for this long. Just remember that different bodies react differently to it.
However, a major downfall to this product is the price. It is extremely pricey for how much you get as although it is a fairly large bottle, all deodorant go rather quickly. And as much as i love the product, i would only buy it when on offer
I recently bought this deodorant in Tescos and have found it to be very effective.
The deodorant is available in 2 sizes the large size is 250ml and the smaller one is 150 ml.
The larger size is the one that I use for everyday at home and it cost £2.69
The smaller size is ideal for travelling or to pop in your handbag, I picked one up in tesco for 99p last week.
The smell is very fresh not at all flowery or sickly like many other deodorants, it dries almost instantly and I have had no problems with white marks.
The deodorant states 48 hour protection I can't vouch for this as I use it every day but for daily use it is effective even in the heat.
The deodorant does not contain alcohol and my skin has been soft and smooth since I started to use it.
Both the large can and the smaller size have a lock on the top which is handy when carrying it in your bag to avoid accidental spillages.
Overall this is one of the best deodorants that I have used recently both for it's anti perspirant qualities and the fact that it dries very quickly no waiting around to get dressed after spraying it.
I would definately recommend this product.
I had been using Mitchum stick for some time but decided to try something new as it was on offer, but I've had it so long I can't remember how much it cost. I hadn't used an aerosol before and was a little dubious but I only need a very brief squirt every other day and I stay fresh and stain-free, even though I shower inbetween. I even find it effective at the gym. I like the fresh scent and it leaves no white marks on dark clothes.
As a teenager, I suffered terribly from excessive perspiration and just wish I had had it then!
This is a good product at a reasonable price - especially if on special offer. I will buy it again and have bought it for both of my teenager daughters (although they are a bit generous with the squirting so it might be the stick or roll-on for them next time.)
I have been using the same deodorant for a while now and was finding it becoming increasingly ineffective, so went on the hunt for a replacement.
Now I tend to use a roll on and a spray together for protection and freshness but for the purpose of this review I have just used the spray.
Garnier Mineral deodorant comes in a 250ml aerosol can and can be found in most supermarkets and pharmaceutical outlets such as Boots and Superdrug. This particular product was on offer at £1.99 when I bought it, down from £2.49 I believe. Neither of which are bad prices.
The version I have has a green lid and the markings around the can are green on a white background. The information on the front says that it contains no Parabens and no alcohol whilst maintaining its antiperspirant qualities and the Garnier logo is clear on the front of the can.
Garnier have "enriched" this product with Mineralite - a naturally absorbent mineral. It also claims to offer non-stop 48 hour intense freshness, 48 hour anti-odour, 48 hour anti-humidity and is new to the Garnier range.
I love this deodorant; the fragrance is very fresh and smells clean. There is no floral scent to this which I prefer and it doesn't smell overly artificial.
Using this product couldn't be easier. The lid has a lockable feature with a small plastic bar which slides from left to right. I have never owned a deodorant which locks before, but it is extremely useful when placing it in a handbag as it doesn't have a cap to protect it. The lock is easy to use and doesn't get stuck. The top has a round depressor which when pressure is applied releases the spray from the aerosol. Again this is easy to use and doesn't require much exertion.
I haven't found this deodorant to leave unsightly white marks on my clothes, but I have found that I need a re-spray throughout the day, especially in the recent heat. I would not for a minute suggest that this would offer 48 hour freshness, but it does a better job that my previous purchases.
I would recommend but drop a star for its claim to last longer than it really does.
