“ Brand: Cusson / Type: Spray / Gender: for women / Suitable for: Body „
Not very often do I allow myself to run low in deodorant however my bathroom is littered with bath and body products at the moment so I stopped buying buying so many things for it. When I noticed though I was down to half of my current aeresol deodorant, when I went in my local Poundland store I spotted this and bought it but only due to the little choice they had that day if I'm to be perfectly honest as the packaging of it was quite frankly rather dull!
The can this comes in is aluminum and is a light pink and white in colour with a light pink plastic lid that covers a press button aerosol sprayer and on the front of that product we are are told what it is who it is buy and that it offers 24 hour protection and then on the back of the product we are told a bit about the product, cautions and ingredients are listed, the size is stated which is 150ml and contact details for the manufacturer are given. This is a nice enough looking can though rather simple but informative enough at the same time to be fair to it.
The Deodorant Itself:
Well this is a spray on deodorant that you are meant to spray under clean arms and that I do. This has a fresh and clean and slightly floral fragrance to it and I really do like the fragrance of this one!
If I spray it to my underarms at a fair distance away (at arms length) then it dries really very well indeed and leaves no residue behind it at all however if I spray it too close to my skin it does leave a thick and heavy residue there of a horrible white powder that stains my clothes terribly.
However now I know how to use it in the correct way I am fine and this leaves no residue at all and it
protects me from be BO for at least 24 hours in an none greasy or drying way.
This is actually a really good deodorant and I love the fragrance and the protection it gives me and although the packaging of this product is rather boring I personally will not not hesitate in purchasing it again in the future!
I saw the Imperial Leather Anti Perspirant deodorant Silk in my local Wilkinson in the reduced to clear for only 76p (usually 85p in Wilkinson) and although never tried any Imperial Leather products before, I thought you can't go wrong for 76p!
The product is in a 150ml can which is coloured in pink and white, with the recognisable logo of Imperial Leather in red. Imperial Leather claims that the product will "leave you feeling fresh" and the product is an "effective anti perspirant". Ingredients and safety instructions are also on the back of the can.
The product is used like any other deodorant, just press the button and it releases the spray. It is recommended that it is position about 6inches away from skin, as it gives a strong blast of spray. It was very easy to use the can, but no easier then other deodorants I've tried. While applying the deodorant had a more powder texture to it, which was different to more liquid types, I thought it would be a problem, due to leaving white marks on my clothes, but actually it left no marks and wasn't powdery on my skin after application.
The scent of the deodorant was quite perfume like, almost similar to floral smelling soaps, which I quite like, but not to everyone's tastes, and is not a particularly girly smell, which I'm more used too. The scent is quite strong and stays quite strong after use, which isn't a particularly bad thing; I'm just used to fainter smelling deodorants.
As a deodorant, it is a really powerful and works well, it eliminates BO smells and does make the skin feel a lot fresher. Also the strength lasts all day, without loosing power or needing to re spray, which I think is a huge plus and not many deodorants give me that much power. I also use the deodorant as a freshener for my skin and doesn't dry out or make my skin feel uncomfortable. It is perfect for all skin types.
I would highly recommend the Imperial Leather Silk deodorant, the smell isn't particularly great, but the deodorant's power is really good, and effectively keeps skin feeling fresh and without damaging the skin. It is so much better then I've ever tried before. My definite favourite!
Imperial Leather deodorant is available at most supermarkets and pharmacists, and ranges in price from 80-£1, sometimes more.
Imperial Leather Anti-Perspirant Silk
Lets get straight to the point:
I bought mine at Wilkinsons for about 84p, and it is well worth the 84p, but if it were to be 1.50 pounds like other Deodorants i think I'd pass on it, it works well just like any anti perspirant should but the smell seems too bland and a bit simple(maybe thats a good thing) unlike the soap..i love there soap.
bottle: the bottle is 150ml and pink colored , i guess its a nice antique pink, it has 24 hour protection written on it, but i feel that when i spray it , it sprays too much out compared to others I've tried, and therefor allot of it is going to waste.
Overall protection is good for mild to moderate B.O
The smell: it's a bit hard to explain, but do any of you remember when spray antiperspirants just came out? the ones that were kind of unisex smelling? well it kind of smells like that but with a small hint of floral soap in it.
i think its an all round okay antiperspirant, it kind of smells like you got out of the shower and put on old lady-ish perfume which is not necessarily a bad thing! i guess its a bit outdated and maybe slightly vintage and i guess thats what makes it a bit different from the other antiperspirants.
its like you went into a shop and picked out a perfume at random because you know nothing about perfumes, and so you just wear it because it smells better then not wearing anything at all...if you get what i mean lol..
Overall it does the job its affordable and its made by imperial leather and imperial leather has a good reputation and a history which is a plus.
i dunno, i guess i like it in a weird way, i'm still trying to figure out why lol, perhaps i'm old at heart?
I've come to rely on Imperial Leather a lot lately as I am currently a very poor student! I've been using their soap, which is great, and I've also been buying their deodorants. I used to use Dove until I found out they were part of the Unilever group who exploit rainforests for palm oil.
So far, I've tried the Imperial Leather Original Deodorant, Active Deodorant, and Silk Deodorant, which is what I am reviewing here. I think all of their deodorants are fantastic but this one is my favourite.
Their deodorants are always the cheapest in the shop, at about £1.09. You can get them at all chemists. This deodorant is in an attractive pink can which tells you straight away that it's a women's deodorant. You get 150ml which is a standard size for deodorant.
On the back of the can all of the information is printed clearly, including the instructions which are:
SHAKE WELL. Hold about 6 inchs away from the underarm and spray. Take care to avoid the face and eyes. If the spray fails to operate rinse the spray button in warm water and resume use.
It is important that you do spray it from a fair distance because unfortunately this does tend to leave a white mark if you're not careful. And you should spray for about 2 seconds on each area to ensure maximum protection.
Odour-wise, this is brilliant. It really does offer 24-hour protection like it says on the tin, but it also gives a mild, soft feminine fragrance which can continue to be smelled throughout the day and is comforting and reassuring.
Imperial Leather is owned by PZ Cussons who do not conduct animal testing or commission others to do so unless required by law.
Imperial leather Silk Deodorant is a great favourite of mine. This deodorant is a perfect smell and it's better than most deodorants out there. It really stops the build up of sweat and smell keeping you dry and fresh. I started using this years ago and I don't like using much else. It gives me just enough and lasts through out the day. Cussions and imperial leather have made such a great product here and the best part is it's as cheap as chips! I don't like to spend too much on beauty products, as I like saving my money so this price really helps.
It is priced at £1.00 in most shops and chemists its not so popular so it might not be on every shelf as many new deodorants have come out since this but the old ones tend to be the best! You can pick this up online for a similar price or maybe even cheaper! There is 150ml of spray in the can so you get your moneys worth.
I like the smell its a rose type smell but also very feminine and fresh. I'm not a fan of imperial leather soaps because they are very over powering but a huge fan of this deodorant. It's easy to pop in my bag even though its quite big I still take it out with me because I like to feel fresh throughout the day.
Make sure you use this sensibly keep away from open flames as it is highly flammable and don't allow small children to get their hands on it as it can be highly dangerous for them. Do not spray near children as this smell is slightly strong and it's only supposed to be sprayed in an open area not a confined space.
You only need one small spray of this as it is strong and does the job fast. Spray at least 7 inches from the armpit area and wash area if irritation occurs but this is very unlikely. I have used this deodorant for years and its still keeping me fresh and saving me money!
So there is no reason to change, you can also try other ranges of the deodorant by imperial leather like the original for example.
I would recommend this product to anyone woman in need of saving a few pennies on the beauty buys but still want to be really fresh.
My friends also use this from time to time and even they say it's a bargin!
I don't know what I would do without a deodorant as I often sweat a fair bit, more so when the weather gets quite warm. If it was not for the existence of deodorant I don't think I could face leaving my house with the stench of odour. I like to stock up with plenty of deodorant and have just enough in my house in case of in an emergency when I run out.
I tend to like trying out different deodorants to see which one works best for me, and mostly buying them if it is on special offer (such as reduced in price or buy one get one free). I have been buying imperial leather silk deodorant on and off for some time now, normally when I fancy a change of anti-perspirant.
I normally buy it from my local pound shop close to where I live as a 150ml one costs just 99p. However some shops can charge a bit more up to £1 more in price. The packaging is nice enough to look at but nothing as fancy as the dove deodorant. The deodorant comes with a light pink lid and the bottle is pink and white with the details of what is in the bottle on the back with usage details.
I quite like the smell of the deodorant as it has a nice sweet pleasant smell not to strong or over bearing; it kind of reminds me of baby powder in some ways. The deodorant helps to keep me protected from odour for a good number of hours. However when using the product it is best not to use to much at once or spray it on too near to your underarm or it could form/leave a cloudy white power residue and leave some white marks on your clothes.
Since learning from experience when using this product, it is best to try and spray it on at a wider distance say 15cm from your underarm and use it sparingly. Say one light squirt at a time.
Overall, the product may not be to everyone's taste but it does the job fairly well as an effective anti-per spirant deodorant that you can trust to leave you feeling fresh and protected for a good set of hours. I would highly recommend you try it out for yourselves if you have not done so already.
I rate this product 4/5 stars
I have been trying very hard recently to save money on our shopping and that goes for toiletries too. As my husband often steals whichever deodorant I'm using out of the bathroom cupboard I try to buy ones which could be deemed as unisex and often find Dove or Sure is a winner for us both.. That was working fine until our shopping budget became significantly smaller so when I saw this I thought I'd give it a go..
What is it?~
This is an anti-perspirant deodorant spray from Imperial Leather and is made by Cussons. Though it comes in various other fragrances the one I picked and am reviewing is 'Active'.
The spray comes housed in a cylindrical shaped can which is predominantly white with sky blue stripes cascading down the sides. The can features an 'old fashioned' spray nozzle on top as opposed to the new integrated designs that seem to be the norm nowadays. This comes in a standard size of 150ml and can be found at various shops for as little as £1, however my local Netto sells this for a mere 69p - bargain! Or is it?
My experience of using the spray~
I used this for the first time in the morning after showering. On removing the blue plastic lid that protects the nozzle I held it the required 6 inches away from my under arm area and proceeded to spray.
The deodorant blasts out very quickly and feels icy cold on the skin. It's white in colour and is very powdery on contact, unlike some which have a moisturising feel. The fragrance is difficult to describe exactly; the only thing I can say is it has a soapy, fresh sporty scent.
After doing the usual power walk on the school run, carrying food shopping home and flitting back on forth on various errands I was pleased this seemed to do it's job of keeping my underarm area dry and smelling freshly showered. Though it states it gives 24 hour protection I can't vouch for that as I don't go that long between washing; so I can't comment on whether it works for that period of time or not.
What I like about it~
Firstly I liked the fact it only cost 69p! Secondly it worked incredibly well at keeping me *fresh* plus it was gentle on my skin.
What I didn't like about it~
This is one of those deodorants that unfortunately 'clumps' when sprayed which is always a bad feature as far as I'm concerned. It also leaves white marks on clothing so be careful when you apply it to your skin.
Those two negatives are far outweighed by the positives though and this is a anti perspirant that I will most definitely be buying again, especially at that low price.
Imperial Leather is a brand that I have used for many years so when I first saw this item on the shelve for £1 I thought I was getting a real bargain.
I usually pick this item up from my local pound shop. Although I have used lots of roll on and spray deodorants over the years, I've found that I have now developed a loyalty for this product because it really does do what it promises. On the bottle it claims to offer 24 hour protection and it certainly leaves me fresh throughout the day. It also has the word "active" on the tin, I am constantly running around and this product keeps me fresh throughout the day.
I'd say that there are no frills with this product, it comes in a plain tin and the scent is quite a plain and fresh, but it does what it says on the tin - it leaves you feeling fresh and that's what I want out of a deodorant.
Some will find this product quite old fashioned, the packaging isn't anything to write home about and it is a basic deodorant. However, personally this doesn't bother me, because it keeps me fresh throughout the day and I pick it up at a good price.
I brought this deodorant in Poundland because I like the Imperial Leather Soap and shower gels but am not keen on it and wouldn't have wanted to pay more for it.
It's the old fashioned type and has got a lid that you have to take on and off every time you want to spray it, I prefer Sure that comes with the spray built into the lid.
The smell is nice and proper feminine, it smells of baby powder a bit and is lovely and sweet. I had already sprayed a bit into the lid in Poundland so I knew I'd like the smell but as soon as I used it for the first time I didn't like the deodorant.
When I sprayed it on I got loads of little white clumps of powder under my arms and when I put my arms down they all flew down to the floor, it made a proper manky mess. It surprised me because this deodorant isn't a cheap brand, I reckon anyone who tries the cheapo deodorants looking for a bargain will know the clumpy powder feel of some of them. This one is 10 times worse than the cheapest deodorant I've ever used and I had to flap my arms over the bath to make sure there was no white bits left to drop onto my clothes.
It works as a light deodorant and I've used it 3 times now with no problems. I'm not a sweaty person so it suits me because it's light and easy to wear but I get the feeling that it might be too light if you usually use a strongish deodorant. I wouldn't put it to the test in the gym if you see what I mean! lol
I won't buy it again and won't use the one I've already got again either because the powdery clumps are a nightmare and I actually have to vac the bathroom carpet every time I use it! Nah, too much effort just to save 84p on a can of Sure!
During my UK tour of the festivals this past summer; I often needed to stock up on vital things to keep me sane and also smelling nice. I came across this Imperial Leather spray whilst shopping in Tesco. Initially I wasn't attracted to it and wouldn't normally but it was on special offer at only £1 for the large sized bottle so I bought it.
The usual price for this product is usually around the £2 mark so I was lucky to get to try it for only half of that.
The packaging is really simple. It is pink and white and has Imperial Leather written on it clearly. It has a clear pink lid on the top that is easy to pull off in order to use the spray itself. On the back, there are directions and also a list of ingredients for those that need to check what it is made of.
I liked the smell of this product, it smelt a bit like baby talcum powder and made my under arms feel smooth and clean. I felt instantly refreshed whilst using this. It's important to add that this isn't anti white marks proof, so be careful when spraying as if you use too much, it may turn your under arms a white colour. I wasn't too bothered by this though as I was mainly wearing long sleeved tops.
I would defiantly buy this again, even more so if it's on offer as it lasted a long time, in fact I still have some left and I've been using it for about 1 ½ months. Definitely worth the money.
Most of us use deodorant or anti-perspirant or both in one product like me - and you don't, why not?!
I have tried many different products over the years including roll-on deodorants which are very good but seem to take age to dry with your arms stuck up in the air, lol!
So I prefer spray on stuff as it's a lot quicker and just as effective at stopping my sweating so much and deodorising my natural body odour...
One of the body care products I have tried was 'Imperial Leather Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Silk' made by Cussons and offering 24 hour protection. The can is pressurised and a solvent so can be dangerous if pierced or overheated plus keep away from children.
This comes in a pretty pink and white metal canister with 150ml which I paid 99p for - good value I thought as this type of stuff lasts ages even with daily use.
The write on the back says this is made in England and promises you will be left feeling 'fresh and protected'. It has an advanced formulation to give the wearer added confidence that will stay fresh all day but does it actually work and what does it smell like?
Well yes it works really well, better than a lot of other named brands I have tried and it smells very girly, like perfumed talc or a flowery perfume. The fine list that comes out dries like a thin film of talc too so you feel drier under your arms straight away and it is invisible :)
The results are instant and that's what I like, the fragrance is strong but really nice and pleasant and does last for hours too. I don't get those awful white patches under my arms from this either like some sprays leave :(
It so simple to use of course you just hold the can about six inches away from the area you want to use in on and spray for a few seconds.
The skin feels really nice a refreshed and really dry which is great so I think this Silk variety of Imperial Leather deodorant deserves five stars from me :)
