“ Brand: Cusson / Gender: for women / Type: Roll-on / Subcategory: Deodorant / Suitable for: Body „
The container I have of this is slightly different than the picture; my one is more hour glass shaped. I love Imperial Leather soap and talc and know it is a good brand so happily buy these products. I bought this anti-perspirant deodorant as it was on offer for £1 at my local Tescos.
The container is a 50ml hour glass shaped plastic roll on, the bottom section is white, with a peachy/orange screw on lid. The back has a barcode and a list of ingredients as well as instruction on how to use it?? I love the smell of this deodorant, it doesn't smell like the soap but it is very flowery and nice, every now and again during the day you get wafts of this scent which is nice. This does tend to come out a lot quicker than most roll ons, I don't know whether this is because the deodorant itself is thinner but my underarms tend to be wetter for longer with this. The ball itself is a lot bigger than most roll ons as well so that may have something to do with it also. This works well as a deodorant, it keeps you clean and fresh smelling all day, it also keeps the scent all day as well.
I dont wear this with anything black as it is quite wet and it does leave white marks. It is ok if you make sure yours arm pits are dry before getting dressed. For everyday t-shirt wearing it is fine though.
I recently tried this after seeing it for only £1 at my local chemists, as I used to use the aerosol version years ago and I remembered liking the scent.
I usually stick to Sanex for my roll on, as they do a 'clear' one which doesn't leave white marks on your clothes and which doesn't irritate my skin, but I have to say I am now pretty much converted!
I really like the smell of this product, which for me is THE most important thing as there is nothing worse than not quite liking the smell when you keep getting a whiff of it all day long! It is a lovely fresh clean smell. Secondly it is very effective at doing it's job, which is obvioulsy also very important! In addition I have had no problem with it causing white marks on my clothes, it is fair to say that I am pretty careful with it, but some deodorants are a pain for leaving white marks even when you are super careful.
I have also found it to be gentle, non-irritant and not at all drying to my under-arm skin.
It does everything I need it to and it is an absolute bargain!
As you will see from a previous review my usual deodorant is the Tesco Value one, however I recently saw Imperial Leather Original Deodorant in my local Netto, running out of my normal one I thought I would give it a try and so far so good.
Imperial Leather Original Deodorant comes in a slightly curved white bottle with a large red lid. It has a small label on the front of the bottle, again this is mainly in red and white. It has the words Imperial Leather written in the usual red curved oval shape, beneath this is the word Original this is written in gold lettering with a crest behind it. Right at the bottom of the label is written Antiperspirant Deodorant. The back of the bottle has the same white label in it with information such as directions for use and the ingredients, all of this information is written in black lettering nad is very easy to read. The large red lid simply screws on and off and is very easy to remove. The end of the lid is flat which means you can stand the bottle upside down to drain the remainder of the deodorant out. This is a roller ball deodorant, when you remove the lid the ball which applies the deodorant is clear in colour and rotates very smoothly, so far I have not had any problems with it drying out and sticking.
When I first applied this deodorant I noticed that quite a lot of the liquid came out at once, not so it was running of off you skin but enough to have to wait for it to dry before putting your top on, for first thing in the morning this is not too much of a problem as I can apply it a while before I get dresses giving it plenty of time to dry, however if you were in a bit of a rush wearing this deodorant may not be a good idea as you could end up with white marks under your arms where it has not dried properly. As soon as you smell this deodorant you can tell it is an Imperial Leather product it has that distinctive smell that a lot of their products have. I have to say personally I think it has quite a strong smell to it in the bottle, however once applied this does not appear to be as overpowering. The main question about it really is does it work as an antiperspirant, yes it does. I can apply this product to my underarms in the morning and can honestly say it leaves me feeling and smelling fresh all day. I re-apply the deodorant if I going out in the evening, but for work I do not have the need to re-apply. This product does not actually say that it is suitable for sensitive skin, however in the past I have had a few problems with some deodorants being too strong for me and making the skin under my arms very sore, however so far with Imperial Leather Original I have not had any problems, I wouldn't go as far to say it would be OK for anyone with sensitive skin to use but it has been OK for me so far, I do not think it is the harshest of deodorants.
I bought my Imperial Leather Original Deodorant for just over 70p from my local Netto, however I believe it usually retails at just over £1 however I am not sure of the exact price. For 70p I get a 50ml bottle, personally I find this very long lasting, as you do not need to keep re-applying half a dozen times a day like with some deodorants you use hardly any at one time, I find a bottle of this usually lasts me a couple of months so at 70p it is a real bargain. I think I would even pay full price for this product as it does the job it says it will an lasts a long time.
Directions for Use
Well we all know how to use deodorant, however if the back of the bottle it feels the need to tell you, so it says to use this product you need to shake well prior to use, apply to the under arms and screw the lid back on tightly. So there nothing too complicated really
These too are on the back of the bottle, again all common sense really, but the warning they give are this product should not be used on damaged or irritated skin. Now before I said that in the past I had had problems with various deodorants but not with this one, what the manufacture is saying here is if your skin under your arms is already damaged or irritated by possibly another deodorant or for other reasons do not use this product. I am just speaking from personal experience that I do have sensitive skin under my arms but do not have any problems with this particular product, however everyone is different.
I would certainly recommend this product, although it does take a bit of time to dry it does do a good job of keeping me feeling and smelling fresh all day. It really does do what a deodorant is supposed to do. There is no need to keep reapplying and it is very good value for money!!!
I bought this a while ago in my local Boots shop, it was £0.89 for one 50 ml deodorant. I purchased it because I love Imperial Leather soap.
I didnt hold out much hope because a ladies deodorant is up near £1.50 to £2 for a good one, but I think I`ve tried them all, being a sweaty person.
The first thing i liked about it is that the smell doesnt over power you like some makes, and as I get an headache wearing perfume I didnt want a "smelly" deodorant, I wanted a silent but deadly one.
When applied underarm, it gives off a pleasant odour and then as it dries its hardly noticeable at all. Which is great. When you put your clothes on over the top even black ones it doesnt mark and it doesnt turn into an hard substance on your clothes throughout the course of the day.
I also roll it uder my boobs as well because I found that you dont sweat so much if you do, it keeps you feeling dry all day , and there are no damp patches on your clothes.
It contains :-
I listed these because I know some people are allergic to certain things like I am.

I suffer from sensitive skin and have to watch what I put on my skin, but I can throughly recommend this and even found it in the £1 shop where they were selling 3 for £1, so I have a good stock at the moment
An excellent deodorant that keeps you feeling fresh all day without the overpowing smell
I tried this the other week for the first time and had to write a review because I was so very impressed! I bought it for the price mainly - it was 75 pence and I could not believe a decent brand like Imperial Leather could be that cheap! I was a littel unsure about whether it would be any good but I figures it SHOULD be due to the brand.
It smells very much like the traditional Imperial Leather soap that you can get. I personally like this smell but think it is a bit masculine. However, it is not very strong in the deoderant so I didn't mind that.
The smell of imperial leather did not last all day. However, there was no bad smell from my armpits at all. In fact, I didn't reapply or wash it off for 24 hours and still there was no BO. What a result!
I have got my husband to use it as well, as he really likes Imperial Leather soap. He is finding it even works well on stinking mens' armpits! Well his anyway!
I would really recommend this deoderant. Do not be put off by teh cheap price tag. It really works!
I was getting low on deodorant recently and put it on my list for when I went shopping. I do like Dove and Sure but with the 'credit crunch' still gripping our purse strings tight (well mine anyway) I saw this roll on by Imperial Leather at a cheap and cheerful price so decided to give it a go...
The Price and Packaging~
Well there is nothing too fancy about this packaging - it's quite standard looking. The bottle is upright standing and mainly white plastic. From the front view the bottle has a plump hour glass shape, but from the side it nips in leaving the bottle looking top heavy.
On the front is a sticker with the familiar 'Imperial Leather' logo and on the back is the barcode and ingredients. It's all topped off with a red plastic screw top cap.
I have seen this in various shops for under £1 and I bought it for the purse friendly 69p!
Using the roll on~
Well it's all very well buying something that's cheap to save money but is it going to work? I don't want to skimp on something like deodorant then be terrified of lifting my arms!
I applied the roll on first thing in the morning after a shower and it glided on my under arm area quite easy. The roll on ball isn't as big as say ones by Sure but it's not the size that counts right?!
The deodorant seemed to take quite a while to dry despite me wafting my arms round like I was trying to take off!
Once dried however it was time to see if it would keep me dry and smelling fresh as a daisy..
A few hours later~
I was slightly paranoid and kept sniffing under my arms but right up until bed time almost the deodorant did it's job.
I do a lot of walking back and forth on the school run and it surpassed all my expectations and kept me dry and sweet smelling..very impressive!
This deodorant is excellent and so cheap! I was worried it would be no good but it certainly worked and it's a product I will be buying again.
The roll on has the clean scent of the soap and if applied after a shower leaves you with that fresh just been showered smell all day long.
A complete bargain - try it!
I haven't seen this product around for a few years now in the normal toilettry stockists (Boots, superdrug etc) but I have seen it it still sold in the pound shops...
I have used the anti perspirant version of this, which has a great smell. It is one of those products if you use it for a while, the stop, then go back to it, the smell of it will take you back a few years to what you were doing when you last used it- so it has a nostalgic scent.
You will pick up one can of the spray anti perspirant for around £1. The only drawback I found with using this is it does leave white marks on your clothes and after you have sprayed it on and it has dried a little, as soon as you move you get the equivalent of a load of talc falling off your arms- so this is maybe why you don't see this around very much.
If you like the scent, I would recommend the roll on as it is less likey to cover your clothes in a talcy residue.
I don't know whether all branches of Tesco's are the same but our local branch has a display of seriously cheap items which includes cereals, household cleaners and toiletries amongst others.
When I was shopping there a couple of weeks ago I noticed a roll on deodorant for £1 and decided to give it a try. It was Cussons Imperial leather Original so it was a brand that I trusted so I thought I wouldn't go far wrong.
I normally stick to Dove for my deodorants as i know they all work well and don't sting even after shaving but occasionally I like to try something different - I don't want to miss anything do I?
As I said it is called Imperial Leather Original and it comes in a white container with a bright pink screw top. The container is an odd curved shape so that it is easy to grip and use. The label on the front announces that it is 'anti perspirant and deodorant'.
Once you unscrew the cap you are faced with a nice big ball (ooer missus!) which makes applying the deodorant to your underarms nice and easy. The deodorant runs freely and there is never any problem with it drying out.
I was really impressed with the fragrance of this one. It is fresh and flowery and I kept getting a whiff of it every so often during the day which was nice. Obviously I was going somewhere special and wearing nice perfume this wouldn't be appropriate as the fragrances would compete, but for an every day deodorant I really liked the smell.
Did it work?
Well of course this is the most important question isn't it? Having a deodorant that looks nice on the shelf and smells nice under my arms is no good at all if it doesn't work!
I am pleased to report that the deodorising and antiperspirant effect lasts all day even when I am working in the garden or spending the day on the promenade selling lifeboat souvenirs.
I must admit that when I shaved under my arms I used my usual Dove for a couple of days so I can't comment on whether it is painless after shaving!
I did notice that it went on slightly wetter than Dove and my armpits took just a little longer to dry than usual, but it wasn't too much difference. I didn't have to flap my arms around to dry it so I didn't frighten the cat!
As I have already said the cost of the deodorant was just £1 and for this I got a 50ml of deodorant which is the same size container as my usual Dove. After all it isn't worth getting a 'bargain' if you then find that the volume in the container is less than usual.
Being a roll on, it is in a small container making it ideal to take on holiday, and as it contains no propellant it can be taken on an aeroplane with no fear of explosions.
The other advantage of using a roll on deodorant is that it is kind to the environment, as it does not contain any CFC gases.
Even though the container is a strange curved shape the top of the lid is flat which means that, when you get to what appears to be the end of the deodorant, you can store it upside down and get at least another week's worth of fresh armpits. It might sound a bit scrooge like but I don't like wasting anything and we are in the middle of a credit crunch after all!
All in all I am very impressed with this deodorant - it works well, it is cheap and it smells lovely! I shall definitely buy it again.
