=== Introduction: ===
Impulse, a subsidiary of the Unilever company, has been around since 1972. They are known for their wide range of sweet smelling body sprays and body washes.
=== Range: ===
Impulse have a fairly small range, having only 10-15 fragrances at any one time. They do have limited edition sprays however. From their base range, they have some wonderful smells, my favorites are Romantic Spark, True love and Goddess.
=== Branding: ===
These products are in a standard canister, and are a silvery-white colour, with the bottom half coloured in corresponding with the smell. There is also a flower or some other design on the front. For example, Romantic Spark has a purple violet and a purple bottom. The colours are quite eye catching, and it is pretty easy to pick out the fragrance that you want.
=== Smell: ===
I love the smell of Impulse, their body sprays have a lovely fresh, sweet smell that usually isn''''t too strong and is very pleasant! Of course, this depends on the fragrance and your personal tastes.
=== Application: ===
It''''s easy enough to apply, just spray over your body, and you''''re good to go!
=== Results: ===
This stuff works very well, it lasts the whole day!
=== Price and Availability: ===
This stuff is readily available in Asda, Tesco, Superdrug, Boots and some small convenience stores. The standard size is 75ml, though you can get a smaller travel one (35ml)
(75ml)It''''s normally priced at £2 in each store, but you can sometimes get it for £1 when its on offer.
(35ml) is normally priced at £1.15
=== Overall Opinion: ===
I love this stuff, it smells great and has an all day smell. The range is quite small, but there''''s something to suit everyones'''' tastes. It can be a little pricey, but it''''s well worth it! :)

I buy Impulse body sprays sometimes when I am buying deodrant and spot them on offer. They range in price from 99p to around £2.19 depending on when you buy them and if there is an offer on. They are available in chemists like Boots, Superdrug and Savers and in supermarkets. They're also sometimes in shops like Poundland and The 99p Shop.
The can they come in is different to most body sprays because of the lid. These don't have a removable lid, instead it twists round to cover or uncover the hole where the spray comes out of. This is very useful because it means you can never lose the lid and it cannot come open in your bag. You can spray them on your skin or over your clothes and the scents are usually strong at first, they fade to a lighter scent but they do stay all day.
There are so many different scents available in Impulse body sprays and a few different ranges such as The City Collection. The City Collection are a range of three different body sprays, each with the name of a different city. The range includes London, Paris and New York. They are supposed to represent those cities... I've tried them all and my favourite is London. The Paris one comes in pink packaging and is very, very sweet and floral. I'd definitely call it a young scent but I find it very sickly if you use too much. I usually like to spray quite a bit of body spray all over but I can't do that with Paris, it's just too sickly sweet. Also, I don't think is represents Paris in any way, shape or form. The London one is a bit more 'serious' but still refreshing, I really like it. It comes in purple packaging. The packaging states that it has notes of sandalwood, vanilla and grapefruit. I think those scents came across very well, for an Impulse body spray. I'm sure it doesn't contain any of those things but I could definitely smell them. The vanilla adds some sweetness and cuts through the other intense smells which is nice. The grapefruit adds some freshness and citrus to it and the sandalwood gives it that woody, deep smell. This could definitely be a more night-time kind of scent but it's just as good for the daytime. The last spray in The City Collection is New York, it comes in green packaging. The scent is very fresh and light, it's fresher and less intense than the two others in the range. It has notes of green apple which is very refreshing, crisp rather than sweet which is a nice change. The jasmine notes make it a bit more 'grown up' than a lot of Impulse sprays and there are also some fruity, maybe berry notes to this spray. It is fruity but not sickly at all, I wouldn't describe it as sweet, I would probably call this one a summer scent. I am not convinced that these sprays represent those cities in any way but ignoring that, they're good body sprays.
Some of my favourite Impulse sprays, out of the ones I've tried are Romantic Spark, Into Glamour and Tease.
Romantic Spark is my favourite out of all of them, it has the woody smell which I like but isn't too dark or intense. It has notes of violet, these go together perfectly to make a more glamorous smelling Impulse spray. It isn't sweet or fruity but it's light enough for the daytime. It comes in a lilac can with pictures of purple flowers and stars.
Into Glamour is a bit more intense, it has notes of sandalwood and vanilla. The sandalwood gives it a deep, woody smell and the vanilla adds sweetness to it, it's a lovely scent and the sandalwood and vanilla go together perfectly. It definitely lives up to its name, it's one of the more sophisticated Impulse sprays, in my opinion.
Tease is more playful and youthful, without being sickly sweet. It has woody, pineapple and red fruit notes. The woody scent isn't intense but it turns the fruity fragrance into something more special. The pineapple is fresh and adds a bit of sweetness, the red fruit notes aren't sickly or sweet though, they're more of a tangy smell and very feminine.
My least favourites are probably Musk and True Love. I used True Love for quite a while when I was younger and hadn't tried other fragrances but I find it too sickly sweet and artificial now. Very Very Pink is also too sickly sweet for me. Very Very Pink claims to have 'sophisticated white wood' but that doesn't stand out to me at all, instead I can smell the orangey, sweet smell. Instead of being a refreshing, citrus scent, the orange notes smell very artificial and cheap.
There is plenty to choose from in the Impulse range, especially if you look in shops like Savers and Poundland because they sometimes stock discontinued scents which you can't find in other shops. Some do smell too cheap, artificial and sickly to me but they're worth trying. I think these are perfect for teenagers, when I was in school I used these along with the Charlie body sprays and the So.... sprays. I have noticed the high price in some places lately and I'm not sure they're worth £.2.20 each, especially as I have tried a few Boots own brand sprays and noticed similarities. I have knocked one star off just because of this.
I would definitely recommend these to someone who wants something cheap and fun. You can spray them all over without breaking the bank and there are enough to experiment with to find out which one you like. I think they're good for teenagers as well as adults. they're definitely not only suitable for young people. The scents do vary a lot, some are very sweet and some are more serious so I think they suit a range of tastes.
I remember buying impulse body sprays when I was younger, the range back then had limited scents but now there are a lot more different scents and flavours available to choose from. This is great as it means there is a scent to suit almost everyone and at all ages which is why I still find myself using the impulse branded body sprays today, as I have always been happy with the long lasting fragrances that the impulse brand are known for.
The Impulse body spray I am going to review today is the Romantic Spark version. The impulse aerosol can describes the fragrance as having a combination of wild violet notes and elements of wild wood scents.
This particular Romantic Spark brand was released back in 2009. The shape is like most other aerosol cans and has long thin cylinder shaped design. It has a relatively newer spray dispenser design that consists of a twistable dial that releases a visible hole when twisted into the correct position; this is where the spray is released.
The can has a lilac and purple colour scheme with a heart shape clearly visible on the front of the can; the heart clearly representing the romantic element which on the design is made of flowery petals and leafs; which is great as it lets the buyer know that the spray has floral essences in the fragrance.
I found that the spray had a really nice pleasant soft aroma with floral elements. The violet notes are very noticeable but too over powering. The scent in my opinion is nice and sweet and has a hint of musk lingering around after the initial spray.
The spray left a nice feminine fragrance that was not too over powering, which is great as I find strong fragrances tend to give me bad head aches. The violet scent reminds me a bit of a nice violet flavoured sweet, which leaves me smelling fresh and flowery.
The scent of this Impulse in my view is great for teenagers and young adults, and lasts a long time once it is spray. I found that the fragrance was still noticeable hours after application which is one the reasons why I purchase impulse spray due to their quality fragrances
I remember it from my local Asda supermarket a while ago, but the price should be relatively the same at around £1.50. It can also be purchased from other well known supermarkets and store such as Tesco's, Sainsbury's, Boots etc.
Overall I would definitely recommend this to teenagers and young adults, as it has a nice young smelling floral fragrance that has leaves you smelling fresh and sweet for long periods. The Price is also very reasonable, so I can not really fault this body spray.
*I am reviewing a particular scent which dooyoo do not have in the database - thanks*
~Impulse Love Puzzle~
Impulse is a range of scented body sprays. There are more than 10 Impulse scents available but I will be discussing a Limited Edition scent known as Love Puzzle. Love Puzzle is described as 'a luscious fruity floral scent that will inspire romantic words'. This body spray has been dermatologically tested.
This body spray is presented in a slim, aerosol can. The can itself is white and features lots of colourful prints with words on them including 'love' and 'together'. The can features a twisty top rather than a lid that can be lost easily and all the important product information is printed on the can. The can is fit for recycling once the spray has been used up.
~Price and Availability~
A 75ml can of Impulse retails at around £2.00 but is often on offer. It is available from Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets. At the moment, both Boots and Asda have an offer on and Love Puzzle can be bought for just £1.00.
I love trying out new body sprays and like the Impulse range as a cheaper alternative to my favourite Soap and Glory body sprays. I bought my can of Love Puzzle from Asda recently during the £1.00 promotion. I never pay more than £1.00 for Impulse. It pays to shop around and find an offer somewhere. I was spoiled for choice by scents that I had used previously and a few which I hadn't so selected a new (to me) scent.
The can does look attractive and is just the right size to carry around in my handbag. It is easy to use too - a quick twist of the lid reveals a small spray hole. As with any body spray, it is recommended that you spray in a ventilated area. I am always careful not to spray it around my son or in an enclosed space as it is likely to encourage a coughing fit!
A quick press on the spray top releases a powerful mist which absorbs instantly when it makes contact with my skin. This body spray is incredibly gentle and hasn't irritated my sensitive skin. It hasn't caused any discolouration or damage to my clothing either. Once the initial, alcohol type scent disappears, my skin is left beautifully scented thanks to this body spray. It is nicely perfumed and doesn't smell unnatural or too strong.
The scent is quite fresh and light. To me, it smells girly as it has a sweet, fruity aroma which reminds me of berries and a touch of citrus. There is a very delicate, floral undertone but for the main part, the scent is simply sweet smelling.
I find that this body spray leaves my skin feeling and smelling refreshed and nicely scented. It isn't a strong scent but I can tell that I am wearing it. As with most body sprays (and Impulse in general), the scent doesn't last long on my skin. I find that it starts to fade quite quickly after an hour or so but that is to be expected. It is best for a quick, top up of scent through the day. I do really like the scent of Love Puzzle and would say it is one of the nicer Impulse scents. I can wear it alongside a fruity perfume without witnessing any 'muddled' scent and it is perfect for using all year round.
Because the scent doesn't last long on my skin, I need to top it up regularly. I don't used this everyday as I would run out far too quick. One can doesn't last long but it is a cheap product (when on offer) to buy and provides me with a scent 'pick me up' through the day. I will happily buy it again.
4 stars - recommended as a simply, beautiful smelling body spray.
Thanks for reading :)
"It's a fragrance worth a thousand words. A blend of lusciously floral scents with fruity notes that will leave you feeling playful, witty and spirited. Spray it on. And let it speak for you"
Impulse has been my choice of body spray for a while now. I am especially addicted to the "Loving Words" body spray as it's fun and youthful, and doesn't brake a students bank.
This can be picked up from Asda, Boots and Tesco for around £1.
Sainsburies and Superdrug both charge £2.
For ease, i usually buy this from Asda and find that there is usually deals on the product.
It comes in a little turquoise spray, which is the perfect size for throwing in your bag and using throughout the days to keep you smelling as fresh as a daisy. It can be spotted from the other scents from impulse as it has a heart on the front which is constructed of "loving words".
It's really easy to use. All you do is swivel the top and press to spray. It's light, transportable, and very handy. It's quiet when sprayed also, so can sneakily be sprayed when no ones looking.
The scent is very girly and flowery. It's a youthful scent but one more mature than the scents from Charlie, which i have also tried in the past. I think this scent is for people who want a fruity and flowery scent, yet not too youthful.
I adore the the scent of this body spray. For £1, it lasts for a while and i can't really fault the product. I would definitely recommend this product.
My usually choice of body spray is charlie pink but I have recently started buying impulse sprays. This is due to my friend wearing them and they smell great! The first one I bought which was recommended is the impulse temptation body spray. I paid £1.00 for it from quality save which is the same price I usually pay for body spray. The spray lasts me around the week as I use it a couple of times a day so £1 a week is great value for money! It smells great not too strong or over powering and is good for just wearing at work or home rather than using perfume which is much more expensive. Since buying that one I have bought true love, very pink. new york and hint of musk. They all smell great except for the hint of musk which was just too strong and a smell that just didn't suit me. the spray can is great as it is small enough to fit in my handbag so I take it everywhere with me (you never know when you might need it - nothing worse than sweating or smelling and have no spray with you!)
Only negative thing I can say about the product is I can't use it as a deodorant as it burns. I don't know whether it is just me who has sensitive under arms or whether other people have suffered the same. Other than that it is a great body spray which is cheap enough for everyone to afford.
Impulse Body Spray always takes me back to my teenage years. I think back this there were quite popular, this was a few years ago now and all my friends seemed to be wearing one or other of the different scents. Plus, I think it was probably the only form of "perfume" we could afford and we all wanted to smell nice to be able to pull the boys at the disco on a saturday night.
I recently bought some more as they were in offer in Boots, only £1 for a 75ml can which I thought was a great deal. The can actually doesn't last that long if you spray it over your whole body, I would say probably a weeks worth of application but if you don't use it all the time then it's quite a nice investment. There are times when you don't always want to wear something as heavy as perfume but want a bit of scent on your body. I find that this spray is nice when I go to the gym or a class. I don't want to smell like perfume and get dressed up in anyway but I still want to smell quite nice and fresh.
Impulse Body Sprays are perfect for this. They are extremely easy to use. They have a spray function at the top of the can and you basically spray them all over your body. They are just really a mist so they do not make you wet or do they stain your clothes in any way. I find most of the scents are quite sweet but intoxicating and do last on the body well. They are not overpowering in any way and are nice for something a bit different. They are hardly very sophisticated but then that's not the look or smell you are hoping to achieve with these body sprays.
I have been using and loving Impulse body sprays for a while now and they are just great. I specially love the impulse shakers range, which was designed for summer and was amazing, i wish they would just bring them back.
I picked up impulse popstar one day before valentines day. Im not 100% but i think this was a valentines special.
Impulse popstar has a heart on the can with things on top like, heels, lipstick and a microphone. Its very nice and attractive. The lid is a classic impulse lid, as you just have to twist it and spray.
On the back it says
Dazzle him with new impulse popstar, a blend of jasmine, lime and sandalwood to wear everyday and carry wherever you go. Get ready to be in the spotlight!
The scent is quite sweet, but with a twist to it.
Im not sure if you can buy these anymore as it is special edition but if you can, get your hands on it asap.
Yes yes, I know they are mainly designed for the girlies, but we live in a unisex world these days and actually I admit it, I used to use Mum anti perspirant, so I have no qualms using Impulse. My mum had some lurking in her bathroom cabinet begging to be sampled. This is more a fragrance for the body than a tool to stop you sweating. The one she had hidden away was called Temptation..such an apt name!
For your one pound fifty or so, you can get a cannister of spray with rather fancy artwork on it. I like the look of the brand and that was possibly what drew me in. I was also drawn to the smell that was promised, vanilla and amber roses. You cannot get the smell until you have sprayed the stuff anyway.
The first blast caught my attention with a gentle waft of vanilla. It had a sweet and rippling undertone to it that could be deemed sickly if you overdid it. As for the roses, they arrived afterwards and were subtle enough to be noticed without being too prominent. The spray smelt pretty good when I used it across the chest and seemed to work especially well as an after shower spray. I did try it under the armpits, though it did not do that much for perspiration, so I would only ever dabble with this as a bodyspray.
I would use it for going out at night I think, just to give the body a little zest here and there. The smell stays with you for quite a while once it has been sprayed and it is not half as feminine as one might expect. If I could change anything I might ditch the roses and go for a vanilla and cocoa spray because that would be even more sensual. Nonetheless, a rather enchanting and creamy spray that worked for me.
impulse body spray fragrences always smell sweet and inviting. The smell is never overpowering and lasts for a decent amount of time compared to other brands. This product is great when you just want to freshen up throughout ur day or to just giv you that little boost about your appearence. The products are also known to be gentel on the skin which prevents irritation. The product bottles are always delicatly designed,creating the product to appear expensive when in reality the product is relativly cheap. the design always relates somehow to the smell of the product for example the godess impulse range is portray in a gold canister with peach hearts and gold diamonds to give that elegant feel to the product. The canisters are just the right size to fit in your bag and are great for day to day use. i recommend this product to women of all ages. it smells lovley.
Impulse produce a range of body sprays marketed at teenagers and young women. You can recognise them in the shops by their slim pastel coloured aerosol cans with lots of pretty writing and pictures on them, a 75ml can generally costs around £1.89 but if you hunt around then you will find them on offer a lot of the time either on a BOGOF basis or reduced to a pound a can.
I remember liking Impulse when I was a teenager, the brand have obviously captured a range of scents which appeal to immature nasal passages as now my daughter loves these sprays. I detest them now that I am an old fuddy duddy and my impulse is to bin them.
I have two sprays in front of me, the first is called Goddess and claims to be a blend of oriental scents and citrus notes. When I first spray it onto my skin as well as feeling really cold I am overwhelmed with the alcohol that is within the spray which makes me want to cough. When the alcohol smell calms down a bit I have an extremely sweet smelling arm, there is a hint of vanilla in there as well as some spicy undertones but what strikes me the most is the cloying sweetness of the spray.
The second Impulse spray I have in front of me today is called Romantic Spark described as a blend of wild violet notes and wild wood scents. Again I start choking when I spray it onto my arm and am hit with the smell of the propellant. When this dies down I again have a very sweet scent which smells like parma violets and I imagine every wasp in a 10 mile radius will want to swarm to my arm to attempt to feast on what smells like an overload of sugar.
The Impulse sprays don't last too long on your skin, with the scent rapidly fading and being gone entirely within a few hours. The scent does linger when you spray it in a room however, I remember being overwhelmed by the Impulse smell one day when coming home around teatime after my daughter had sprayed it in her bedroom with the windows closed.
Teenage girls are not exactly known for their subtle and understated use of beauty products and my girl uses half a can at a time and when sprayed in this manner the resulting cloud of gas catches at the back of everyone in the households throat. Once she sprayed her Impulse in the back of the car and me and my nephew almost choked to death from the fumes. She is now banned from spraying her impulse in any room except her bedroom to limit lung damage to the rest of the household but I'm sure there is a hole in the ozone layer caused entirely by her Impulse usage. It's almost enough to make you develop some sympathy for PE teachers, just imagine being in a changing room with 30 girls all spraying Impulse at the same time, I wonder if the toxic cloud of Impulse fumes is what accounts for female PE teachers all developing sadistic personality traits? I think someone should study that hypothesis of mine in further detail.
I have produced a guide for any teenage girl reading on how to use Impulse:
1 It is a body spray, not a clothes spray or an air freshener. Spray onto your skin not your clothes or the air.
2 Less is more. Spray on a subtle film of body spray, try to make a can last for more than three uses. Try not to smell like you have been bathing in the stuff.
3 It won't do anything for stinky pits so make sure you use a deodorant as well.
It's obvious that Impulse has got the teenage body spray marked cornered so they must be doing something right. I have attempted to buy cheaper sprays for my daughter but after one spray she decides they are just not as good, I just hope that my lungs can withstand this assault on them until she grows up and moves onto more grown up smells. The only good thing I can see about Impulse from an adult point of view is that they produce gift sets at this time of year which make a cheap and cheerful gift that teenagers will adore.
I love using Impulse body spray and have tried every fragrance at least once and have never found one I havenmt liked yet, I am currently using the hint of musk type although I normally have more than one at a time and always have one in my handbag. It is fantastic when Impulse on offer in my local supermarket or shop as it is nearly always buy one get one free or half price which means I can buy them for only 99p, a bargain when money is tight esopecially when my teenage daughter wants them too. The thing I like best about impulse is that the fragrances are always fresh and youthful ( I dont like products which make me smell old - no offence to any older readers) without been over powering and a little goes a long way and lasts a long time. My biggest disadvantage is having a daughter who aquires them all in her room which means I have to enter that dark place.
Impulse body spray
I used Impulse body spray long ago and i still do. The smell is so fresh like lemon and lime, i didn't normally go for lemon smelling sprays because i used to always stay to berry ones but this spray is wonderful and is definitely one to try. It really brightens up my mood and gives me an energy boost whenever i use it because of its uplifting smell. I think it is great 'summer` body spray, you know does clean, fresh heavenly smells.
A bonus is that it is so cheap; 2 times a box of chips equals one impulse body spray. There is nothing bad about Impulse except for the way you have to open it. The first time i tried to open it properly i turned the lid the wrong way and broke it. I have just seen the new impulse body spray can and they are so much better than the old ones so if you're buying it at this time, you're lucky. I've always hated those kind of `turning` lids because i normally end up breaking them.
Overall, it has a great scent, for putting out stinky stenches and its cheap too. its also a leading brand in the deodrant market.
I apologise in advance to all you 'Impulse' lovers out there but this is one impulse buy I shan't be repeating.
I have stayed away from Impulse in the past (note to self: always listen to your instinct) because deoderants alone are quite expensive in and of themselves, so to splash out on another undefined kind of semi perfume/mini deoderant seemed like a waste of time and money.
But they were on offer at my local store so I quickly grabbed one and headed for home.
The bottle is cute and the colours and design are funky so it is nice to look at and have on display on your bathroom shelf.
My bottle happened to be one of the new ones with the clever little twist lid, which is a bit of a novelty - until that is I actually use it.
The only way i could describe the 'fragrance' (and I use the term loosely) is 'chemically'. It does have an undertone of nana's talc mixed with hairspray (mmmmm lovely) but there is an overpowering smell of, well, chemicals.
It is a strong, overbearing smell and there is no way I could add perfume on top of this for risk of poisoning myself.
I would recommend this product if your boss starts harrassing you at work and you want to repel him.
Sorry guys, its really not a nice smell, and I shan't be trying it again anytime soon.
I am reviewing Impulse Body Fragrance from the limited edition City Collection in London.
Who will like this product:
Those looking for a reliable body spray product with a pleasent scent and iconic bottle.
Where to find this product:
Superdrug, Boots and most supermarkets.
£1.99 for a 75ml can.
Probably one of the most famous body spray brand with everyone from the Spice Girls to julien Macdonald designing a limited edition version of their own. this product is from the City collection. London comes in a purple spray can, with a handy screw shut lid (i always loose the detachable kind). There is an iconic image of a girl with a British bulldog on a lead. This product is dermotologically tested and is gentle on the skin. It smells sweet and slightly of raspberry.
How to use:
Unscrew lid and hold 15cm from skin and spray.
Smells pretty and compliments most perfumes. Scent lingers on skin throughout the day for long lasting freshness.
I love all the Impulse range. I'd also recommend 02 and Tease.
Impulse body fragrances and anti-perspirants are designed to make you feel irresistible inside and out / Each of the eight fragrances contain fine oils, drawing inspiration from the latest fashion, colour and culture trends /
