I never thought that I would find true love in Superdrug, but there it was, winking at me from the shelves. My boyfriend can rest easily as this latest love of mine is just a can of Impulse body spray going by the True Love name. I caught a whiff of it when some girls were spraying some around in the shop as a tester I suppose, and I liked it straight away. It was on a half price offer, at a pound for 75ml, so I picked up a can.
I'm sure Impulse describe their scents with their tongues firmly in cheek. This one is apparently as "rare and magical as true love itself" according to the can. It promises to stir the soul, overwhelm the heart, and turn men into lovebirds. Yeah, right. Back down on earth, the scent is described as Freesia and Tangerine. I don't think the True Love spray smells quite like those beautiful flowers, but there is definitely a overall generic floral aroma. It's distinctive but not too overpowering. It definitely makes the scent seem somehow bright and summery, even when used in the depths of January. What I really like is the tangerine element though. I can smell a surprisingly authentic and fresh orange scent briefly when I first spray this, which fades to a more general zesty aroma, before the floral elements dominate. As the day wears on, I mostly notice a warmer, spicier, earthier undertone. I don't know what it is supposed to be, someone suggested Amber and they may be right but it isn't a scent I would recognise. It stops the fragrance being too cloying anyway, while keeping it feminine. I was surprised that the scent wasn't more one dimensional, and having disliked the only other Impulse spray I have bought in recent years, this True Love has restored my faith in the brand.
A couple of brief sprays releases lots of scent, and I can smell it pleasantly for hours afterwards. I think it lasts well for a bodyspray.
I would definitely recommend this to lovers of fresh, lighter floral scents. I would like the tangerine to linger around more as it works well with the freesia, but I do enjoy using the bodyspray just as it is. The can is a nice easy size to pop in your handbag for a bit of freshening up throughout the day. It is good value, especially as the Impulse body fragrances always seem to be on offer for a pound or so somewhere. I have also seen the full size sprays in Poundland and Poundworld sometimes although not this variety specifically, but you may have more luck.
I really like the fragrance of many impulse products, including this one. True Love provides a pleasant, floral and feminine scent that is long lasting. Due to the small size of the spray (75ml, the same size as many body sprays on the market) I tend to take one in my bag to top up once or twice during the day.
I rarely pay full price for Impulse body spray (£1.99) as there is almost always a half price offer. I usually buy mine from Wilkinsons or Sainsburys, but I have found Impulse is quite popular and available in many stores (including Boots, Superdrug, Savers etc.)
A single body spray lasts quite a while, but I recommend picking up a few of your favourite scent when you see them on offer. Even though they are on sale often, certain fragrances which are especially popular can sell out quickly. I have never seen True Love sold out, but there are rarely that many left on the shelves.
I use this product on a daily basis, as an addition to anti-perspirant, and feel this fragrance goes well with other deodorants. However, I would not use this particular product for a special event as I feel the floral tones are quite powerful and I personally prefer a more subtle perfume for these occasions.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this product and use it myself daily, alternating True Love with a few other body sprays in the Impulse range. For the price, I have found it hard to find an alternative which has such a pleasant scent.
I love to try different Impulse scents.

Impulse costs £1.99 per 75ml can, but can often be picked up for £1.00 on offer.

I am not a big fan of the name of this scent, but this is a lovely fruity-floral fragrance.
At first I am hit by the light, pleasant, floral notes and then the tangerine becomes evident. The tangerine in this scent is quite intense, but it is always accompanied by the light, floral scent of the freesia and you don’t really experience the two independently.
It is one of my favourite scents from the Impulse range. It is pretty and delicate. It smells almost pink. It is a very feminine scent, but I wouldn’t say it was too young and girly.
It is a unique scent and is different to any other scents I have tried.
There are no harsh notes so I don’t think anyone would find it offensive.
I think this body spray would appeal to women of all ages and I would recommend it.
The scent lingers for a few hours before wearing off and it offers a nice boost of freshness during the day.
Each can lasts me around 3-4 weeks with regular use.
This body spray is really handy and with it being quite small it fits easily into my handbag. I have a huge handbag, but in the nicer weather I have been using smaller ones and a can of Impulse always fits in.
This is one of my favourite body sprays from Impulse and I would definitely buy it again.
I will definitely buy this body spray again as it is one of my favourites from the range. I love their fruity scents.
I was sent a 75 ml Impulse “True Love” Body Fragrance spray along with a set of Nivea products as a very much appreciated Secret Santa present. I later discovered who the secret Santa was and I will say that it was a fellow reviewer.
This is a lovely body spray and definitely, in my opinion, deserves to be given a five star rating.
The scent of “True Love” is lovely; it’s really pretty and subtle. It has a pretty floral scent. I would say that it is just right for a body spray, not being as strong as a perfume or eau de toilette. The strength of this spray is simply perfect for a body spray.
I think that for a body spray it lasts well. I can detect the scent on my skin for a fair time after first applying.
This product is deodorising as well as refreshing. It is an ideal product to carry around or to pack to take away perhaps for a weekend jaunt.
I love the fact that the spray is lockable which makes it perfect for packing in a suitcase, weekend or overnight bag. It’s good to know that liquids and sprays won’t spill out onto other luggage.
But this spray is also an ideal product to carry around in a handbag to freshen up during a day or evening out. I have popped it into my handbag a couple of times and as the spray bottle is small and light it is good for this purpose.
Impulse 75ml True Love Body Fragrance Spray is available from:
===The Product=== Can of Impulse True Love Body Spray. Tall white can with pink hearts and floral images. Freesia and tangerine body fragrance. Cinched in neck to can. 75 mls and highly flammable. White spray cap which is self sealing. Dermatologically tested ? gentle on your skin. Hold can 15cms from body when spraying. Lots of warnings regarding the spray can ? do not puncture, do not spray near naked flames or while smoking, do not inhale etc. The main ingredient is alcohol denat. Made by unilever. ===Cost=== 98p at Superdrug. I believe the full price is around 1.99. Comes in11 varieties. ===My Opinion=== Impulse Sprays are a bargain range of products produced by Unilever. I do not buy them regularly but recently while ordering from Superdrug I ordered one for 98p to make up the total to 10 pounds to save paying postage. The design of the images on the cans have changed since I last bought one so I decided to try a different one so ordered this True Love version. Not having tried any in the shops it was just a random choice but I do like citrus smells so figured one with tangerine might be a good bet. For the price these cans are great value. The top has to be twisted for the spray part to pop up ? very handy as you never loose the cap and its a good way of shutting the can if you carry it around in your bag ? safer than a glass bottle of perfume and also very lightweight. The smell of this spray is quite strong when first sprayed on and it does come out in a strong blast ? not only does it perfume yourself but also the room ? so a great inexpensive room freshener as well ? or if you buy one that you are not too keen on. This spray is quite sharp and citrusy ? not exactly identifiable as tnagerine but it does have a sharpness to it but it is also very fresh and clean smelling. I do not detect any floral freesia fragrance but the overall smell is quite pleasing and invigorating. It smells quite strongly for an hour, then faintly for perhaps an hour or so more. Not in the league of an expensive perfume of course but great to carry with you for a quick freshen up and to have a quick blast of fragrance. I mush prefer to carry a can in my bag rather than a glass bottle, especially as I love my handbags so much. You can be freshened up anywhere and one or two squirts is all that is needed. At under a pound they provide an inexpenisve treat and a good change of fragrance without breaking the bank. I am giving 4 stars as although the fragrance does not last for very long they are inexpensive. ===Star Rating=== 4 stars. ===Would I Recommend?=== Yes. ===Website=== www.impulsefragrances.co.uk www.unilever.com
I've been wearing Impulse body spray since 1978 when I used to work in a busy office. I would give myself a quick spray in the morning and then forget about it. Other people would notice it and comment on the lovely perfume I was wearing.
Nothing has changed - I'm still wearing it in 2013 and still getting compliments. The spray can has changed shape a little over the year and I like the cool, matt finish. The white background with pink flowers is really pretty. The off-white plastic top can be twisted to open or close. The can contains 75 ml.
This particular fragrance is really nice as it is soft and quite sweet and it does last all day. Like all of the Impulse fragrances, they smell a lot more expensive than they really are and it's great to have lots of smells to choose from. This is one of the best.
One of my favourite daily body sprays is True Love by Impulse.
To get the spray out you have to press the top to squirt out the spray. What I like about these cans is that they have a 'twisty top' so that you can twist the top round so that it won't spray when you don't want it to. The can is a great size - it's fairly slim and so easily fits in your handbag - great as because the spray tends to fade, I tend to have to keep reapplying it throughout the day and so for me the size is great as it means that it is easy to carry around in my bag as it does not take up too much space.
When first applied, the spray does smell quite strongly, however it does fades after an hour or so, and so I tend to keep on reapplying it throughout the day. I find that a can doesn't last me that long - only around three or four days if I have to keep reapplying it throughout the day which is annoying as unless these sprays are on offer then they are not really cheap to be able to buy all the time which is a shame as I really like this scent.
I like the fact that the scent is very clean and fresh and makes me feel really girlie and feminine. I like wearing this scent and I find that when I am at work lots of people comment on my lovely perfume and seem to be quite suprised when I tell them it's 'only Impulse'. This spray seems to appeal to lots of women and so I would say that it is suitable for women of all ages. I know teenagers, young women and women in their 50's and 60's who wear this perfume.
Impulse True Love (as well as the rest of the Impulse range) is available to buy from places such as Boots, Superdrugs and supermarkets. They tend to retail at around £2 which I do think is quite expensive - although I have to say that they are nice body sprays even if I do think that they are quite expensive. However, they are regularly on offer - usually for less than a pound and so I tend to stock up whenever I see them on offer so it is worth shopping around to see if you can buy them on offer -as you usually can.
All in all, I would definitely recommend Impulse True Love.
Thanks for reading!

This is a body fragrance from Impulse called "true love". I didn't realise until I saw the above image that this is infact an old Impulse fragrance that I have just in new packaging. My favourite impulse is tease but I received a true love gift set recently and so have been keeping this body spray in my handbag.
The packaging is simple but functional. It is a small thin pink and white canister with a spinning plastic top that reveals the aperture where the spray is released upon pressing down. The packaging is very girly and petite. On the front is the product name and on the back there are directions for use, safety instructions and manufacturer details. There is 75ml of product.
You can often find the impulse range on offer in places like Wilkinsons where you can pick them up for £1.
This is a product you just can't go wrong with really. The product sprays evenly and easily from the can and the smell is always lovely no matter what variety you choose. This "true love" impulse has a very fruity scent and I put that down to the tangerine description. The smell lasts for quite a while on the body although the smell does fade after the first half hour or so but you can easily reapply a quick blast if needs be. I always have an impulse in my handbag and tend to use it just to freshen up especially if I've had a long day or I'm off to meet somebody. The fella also compliments me when using this impulse which is always a bonus, it's just one of those go to products really.
Overall a really nice product at a reasonable price. It's not ronseal but it does exactly what it says on the tin. 5 stars.
Impulse is quite a popular brand and can be found easily in most stores from supermarkets to shops such as Boots and Superdrug. I bought this impulse true love body spray from Boots where it was on offer at 99p down from £1.99.
I decided to go for the true love scent, I always want to try different products rather than going for the same one each time.. but I find impulse change their packaging quite often that I always forget which one I've tried before. For instance I thought I hadn't tried this one before from looking at the packaging and so got it, but now looking at the above picture I can see it is one I previously used to buy.. the design has just changed. (I'm awful at remembering the names - as there is so many!)
The packaging has a colourscheme of pink and white and it is quite a girly packaging. There's pictures of flowers and hearts on the cannister and the scent is of freesia and tangerine.
The back of the can has quite a loved up description where it claims it is a fragrance that 'overwhelms the heart and turns men into lovebirds' (along with a few other lines) haha.. I never tend to read the description of the body sprays but they are quite unrealistic and optimistic! I'd rather it just stated how nice the floral fragrance was.
The scent itself is a nice one, it is floral and lasts a while and is different to the impulse I previously reviewed.
I think all their scents rely upon a fruity or floral scent and are quite distinctive and feminine.
I tend not to buy body sprays as much as I used to and have started purchasing perfumes more, but the sprays are still nice to purchase every now and again and use instead of perfume.. plus they are a lot cheaper.
To spray, you just hold the can at arms distance and spray in short bursts. You should not spray it on irritated or broken skin and obviously keep away from your eyes.
I give the product 5 stars and will probably purchase it again when it is on offer.
Thanks for reading :)
(this review may also be on ciao)
Body sprays are something that I can live without. I use an anti-perspirant deodorant on a daily basis and usually top that up with a standard deodorant just to ensure that I have no problems at all. I use perfume on a daily basis, sometimes more than once per day, and occasionally I will use a Champneys body spray that comes provided within a kit that I buy regularly, however, in all body sprays are not something that I actively spend money on. For Christmas 2011 I was fortunate enough to receive lots of lovely gifts, particularly from my Mum and sister, and one such gift was an Impulse Body Spray gift set. This was one of my smaller presents and was likely intended as a stocking filler type gift and was a gift that I was really happy to receive. One body spray that I received within the set was this 'True Love' one and this usually costs around £1.99 per 75ml spray with frequent special offers available, particularly in Boots. I received a 35ml can of this which was quite sweet and nice.
Impulse is a brand that I used to love when I was in secondary school, however, because I have moved on to slightly more expensive products since then I haven't ever really been tempted back to buying or using their items again. As this was a gift set I figured I'd give each fragrance a try and as it turned out I've really liked having one of the cans I received in my handbag just in case I encounter a nasty smell or notice that my clothes aren't smelling quite as fresh as I would like them to be.
The packaging is quite sweet. A pretty standard can with a nice girlie looking detail on it. There is a heart on the front made up of different colours and the lid is simple to remove. A simple press on the dispenser sprays a reasonable amount of spray without being overpowering. The 35ml versions look slightly different to the 75ml version but obviously this does not affect the quality of the product inside so makes no difference to me at all. I would say the packaging is functional and yet eye catching at the same time, although not as much as some of the other Impulse fragrances available.
This sounds like quite a floral fragrance upon first glance, with mentions of freesias in the ingredients, however, despite my dislike for most floral fragrances I figured I'd give this a try anyway. This fragrance is actually nothing like I expected. While there are floral tones to it they are not overpowering and they certainly do not make up the whole fragrance. This spray felt light and breezy when I sprayed it on and while the scent did last for quite some time I did not worry that it would be overly noticeable. I would say that this is a real spring time spray as its light and perfect for spring days when the weather is just starting to freshen up and you might even venture out in to the garden without your coat on. I would say that I could notice the scent for at least an hour but potentially it lasted longer than this and I just got used to smelling it.
In all I have been pleasantly surprised by 'True Love'. I thought it might be overpowering and very floral once I glanced at the ingredients, however, I was surprised by just how light and refreshing this scent actually turned out to be. I would definitely recommend this to ladies who are big fans of body sprays. The price for a 75ml bottle if a little steep at £1.99, if you ask me, but I feel that a 3 for 2 or buy one get one free offer represents really good value for money, particularly as I've tried several of the other body sprays too recently and they've been just as nice too! There are quite a few to choose from but I would definitely recommend this one if you don't want anything too overpowering.
I think its obvious but I'll say anything that I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. The packaging is nice, there are frequent special offers, the spray is long lasting without being too strong or floral and in all it ticks all the boxes.
Impulse True Love is a fantastic smelling deodorant, you need only use a small amount to smell fresh and sweet.
True Love comes in varied can sizes, and I was lucky enough to get a box of twenty 35ml mini cans from a friend, unfortunately they have all gone now, which is a great disappointment.
These small cans were incredibly handy for adventures out and if you can find them they are a great purchase.
All cans have been dermatologically tested, which means no harm will come to your skin.
True Love is a Unilever brand, which seems quite a good achievement as they have recently aimed to halve their products footprint.
Although recently, Unilever have been criticised by Greenpeace for causing deforestation, this could have a very negative effect on their products.
There are serious disadvantages such as, when too much deodorant is sprayed it can be quite a overpowering smell and it makes you feel slightly ill, and you don't wish to use it anymore.
The price for this sized can is very expensive and not good value for money, unless you can find a good deal which should be available in certain stores.
-Small cans are good value for money and easy to use and carry around.
-Gentle on skin.
-Expensive for bigger sized cans.
In my bathroom cabinet I have a range of body sprays to pick from each morning which tend to come from two brands - Boots Natural Collection and Impulse. Both of these ranges smell great, and are affordable and good quality. Of the two I tend to buy more of the Impulse range as there is such a wide range of scents and they last on your skin for hours.
Impulse was founded in 1972 in South Africa initially and was then brought to the UK in 1979 by Elida Gibbs. It was tagged with the by-line 'Men can't help acting on impulse", with new fragrances being added regularly.
It was only in 2009 that the whole brand was re-vamped to make it more contemporary, into the packaging we now all know and love. They are now the UK's number one in the women's body spray market. Their revised mission statement was to offer consumers delicate everyday sections and have been launching a new fragrance every year meaning the range is constantly updated and kept up to day.
One of my favourite fragrances from Impulse is True Love which has notes of a freesias coming through as soon as you begin spraying it. It is said to be a mix of Freesias, Amber and Muguet designed to "inspire romance and attraction". It is sold in one of Impulses standard sized aerosol cans which hold 75 ml. The Impulse cans are tall and slim. The top turns around to reveal the spray nozzle which you depress to apply. The can's are well designed and in the case is predominantly white/cream with a red-ish heart design in the middle. These 75ml cans are priced at around £1.99 each, but it tend to but them when they are on offer, normally either 99p each of 2 for £2 which makes them much better value.
The True Love fragrance is a light floral scent. You can instantly pick up on the scent of the freesias. It is a very feminine scent that is not too heavy of strong. It is ideal for everyday use.
The spray nozzle allows a wide diffusion of the body spray and works not only when the can is upright but when angled allowing easy application. The 75 ml can last me around 2 weeks when used once/twice daily. I often carry a can in my handbag as well to allow me to freshen up if I need to and as the cans are so slim they easily fit without taking up any room.
The Impulse range is well presented and looks great. The have a wonderful range of fragrances that is updated and added to each year. The True Love scent is light but still lasts all day and has never irritated my sensitive skin so it really is ideal for daily use. The price of £1.99 may seem a little steep for how small the cans are but their long lasting scent is worht the money as many cheaper versions wear off very quickly
Every year for Christmas my mum makes sure to get me a little pack of body sprays, often testing the waters with different brands, so that I can enter the new year smelling fresh and good. This year was no different, and one of the sprays I was given is the True Love fragrance from Impulse.
I've used Impulse for a number of years now and am usually delighted with their products. The smell is typically sweet and feminine and they last a pretty long time. This spray is now different, as it provides you with a spring-time flowery fragrance that is pleasant enough, and doesn't choke your sense, or simply drown your skin. It is very gentle on skin I have found, particularly if I spray before putting on my outerwear, which is useful because as someone with sensitive skin, these things can often be an issue.
You can buy a 75ml bottle or a 35ml although the latter often comes as part of a group with an array of other Impulse body sprays. The 75ml bottle is usually around £1-3 depending where you buy, and if you keep your eyes are you are sure to find deals especially in Superdrug and Boots.
It is important to remember, however, that this is not a deodorant and is you are planning on spending lots of time in heated conditions or exercising excessively, it is necessary to spray some deodorant firsthand to avoid any unwanted smells. Similarly, because it is not a deodorant it doesn't limit perspiration and is simply a delightful smell to cloak yourself in.
I'm very glad I was given this as a gift and since then have used it frequently, although personally I enjoy rotating my body sprays to sample a variety of different products and fragrances. This is one of only 3 scents I have enjoyed enough to consistently go back to (the other being an Impulse brand spray and a Lynx for women spray which is a bit pricier). It has been dermatological tested lasts me for a couple of hours, long enough to go out for the day without feeling its effects wear off.
It is definitely something I would recommend, as well as the entire Impulse brand itself, as they always ensure quality and smell great!
I like to use the Impulse body sprays when I need a bit of fragrance in my life but don't want to use my expensive perfumes. These little spray tins of lovely different fragrances do just the trick, they are cheap, smell nice and offer different smells for different moods that you are in. To be honest I bought this one just because I like the canister it came in and did not really bother giving it a smell as the fragrance description on the tin sounded fine. For £1.99 for a 75ml you couldn't really go wrong anyway even if you ended up not liking the fragrance.
The can is a light light pink colour and features a big pink heart made out of lots of little red and pink hearts. Its a really nice romantic design and one that wouldn't look out of place on a more expensive perfume. In fact this Impulse body spray is all about romance. Impulse say that True Love inspires romantic reactions in men, live the teal love you dreamed about. Well, I can't say that my husband showers me in flowers and diamonds when I wear this fragrance but he does say that he likes the smell.
The smell is described as having notes of freesias, muguet and amber. To me its quite flowery and somewhat light with a nice after smell when you have applied it for a while. It is really pleasant and not too overpowering or sweet in any way. It is such a nice day time fragrance and you can really wear it all day long. It does have a bit of a aerosol smell to it meaning that you can tell its come from a can but its still nice for a basic fragrance.
The can is just like all the other Impulse sprays, the top swivels to allow you to shut off the spray when you are not using the can. This is useful if you keep it in your makeup bag or carry it around with you so it does not go off accidentally. All in all a nice version in the Impulse range.
As with the majority of my beauty buys I tend to try and buy these when they are on offer as it seems that they often go on offers such as 3 for 2. I tend to wear a bodyspray after my deodorant rather than a perfume when I am working as working in the care industry you do feel that you need to keep reapplying due to the smells you are subjected to.
The impulse range can be bought in supermarkets, chemists and often discount stores although I still find the supermarket is the cheapest when they have the offers on. The bodysprays retail at £1.99 when not on offer and this is for a 75ml tin.
The tins are slender and the top has a turning spray piece so that you can turn it to the off position when you are not using it and therefore it is not likely to be accidentally sprayed when in your handbag which I like. On the front of the tin is the name of the make and of the fragrance and then there is a picture of a cross which is made up of lovely pink and red hearts and then there are a couple of stray hearts too. As the tins main colour is cream the design stands out really well and makes the tin very attractive.
On the rear of the tin you are told that this is dermatologically tested and that it is gentle on your skin, to use you need to hold the product 15cm away from your skin and spray. The spray is quite powerful and you only need a little to give a musky flowery smell as the smell is quite strong. You are also given lots of warnings on the tin such as the usual keep out of direct sunlight and then you have a list of ingredients and contact information for the makers Unilever.
I like the impulse range but this is not one of my favourites simply as the smell is a little too strong for me, the spray is gentle to your skin and doesn't irritate at all and these are certainly worth the price especially when on offers.
