I recently bought a can of this Impulse 'Very Pink' body spray from a local chemist chain. I have to be honest and say that I usually opt for the cheapest spray on offer but this time I opted for Impulse because I liked the look of the can. The body fragrance stands out on the shelf because the can is coloured black and there is a heart picture in sexy neon pink and red lights on the front. The overall impression I immediately took from seeing the packaging design was that this body spray is very feminine but is a fragrance that can be quite sensual, sexy and sophisticated.

Impulse call this a "body fragrance" and it is meant to freshen you and provide you with a pleasant scent but it has no anti-perspirant qualities to it. The brand describe the fragrance mix as being fruity with a "blend of pink grapefruit" and a "sweet base of vanilla". They hint that this fragrane will definitely appeal to your man!

The product comes as a 75ml aerosol can. It is a lightweight thing which I can fit easily into my handbag. The top is very well designed and has a large base button which could never be detached by accident. There is also a plastic cape around the nozzle which you can twist around to conceal or reveal the dispensing nozzle. There is a handy indent in the bottle near the top which allows for an easier grip.

The bottle is printed with lots of information including directions for use, warnings and contact information. There are a lot of warnings, actually including a large "extremely flammable" notice so perhaps you need to be extra careful with this. The blurb on the can also tells me that the spray is dermatologically tested and is made to be kind and gentle on the skin.

The spray action is quite forceful and a lot of product comes out in a sharp, powerful blast of mist. I find it necessary to hold the can further away from myself than I think would be necessary or else I feel like I am spraying myself with ice-cold fire. This is particularly important if using this near sensitive skin areas. Even though this product is meant to be gentle to skin I find myself stinging a little especially in areas like armpits and chest.

The fragrance of the product doesn't dissapoint. It's much more powerful than the cheaper spray alternatives I'm used to using. Infact when you first spray this it's like jumping into a cloud of sweet smells. It's not so strong that you choke on the scent though! The fragrance seems to have many different components to it and feels complicated and interesting. There is a definite citrus fruit flavour to the mix but to my nose it smells more like sun kissed tangerines than pink grapefruit. There is a deeper, more complex note of sweet smokey vanilla which is lovely. This subtle sweetness seems to warm up on the skin and assume a mature, intelligent identity. Combined these elements smell like a blended fruity cocktail in a sugar rimmed glass or like winter puddings. There is certainly a sense of romance to the fragrance and I have been told I smell lovely by others after applying it, so that pleases me!

I would describe the fragrance as being suitable for all ages but it definitely could be suitable for the more mature lady too as it is such a refined and complex fragrance. I also find it long lasting and it is fine for just dusting over your clothes if you like to freshen up that way.

My only problems with the body fragrance is that the spray comes out a little too harshly and can cause a brief stinging sensation on sensitive parts of the body. I also dislike the name of the fragrance - 'Very Pink' sounds pretty bland to me and it doesn't desribe how rich and amazing the fragrance really is.

This cost me £1.99 and I would say this is a fair price to pay.
