One of the products I have had from Lush is their Coconut Deodorant Powder, its a different take on how we all tend to think a deodorant should be these days. Most deodorants are either in spray or roll on form, so when I first spotted the Lush Coconut Deodorant I was sceptical about its uses.

A very helpful assistant at the Lush store happily showed me several products, which she thought may suit my requirements and the coconut deo powder was amongst those.

It comes packed in a small matt black container with holes punched through the lid, so that you can shake a little of the product onto the area you need to deodorize. You can also sprinkle a little powder onto the palm of your hand and apply the deo that way.

The lid closes back over the holes when the powder is not in use, to keep the deo fresh and fragrant. The container is clearly labelled with the date of manufacture, the expiry date and even the name of the employee who made it.

You get 50g of product for £3.80, which may seem pricey, but as the small tub lasts at least several weeks if not more, its not as bad as it seems. Using it more sparingly will also make it last a little longer.

The main ingredients in the deo powder are cornstarch, desiccated coconut, grated coconut cream, extra virgin coconut oil, vetivert oil and tapioca flour. The tapioca flour is mainly used due to its absorbant qualities, which any good deo product needs.

You can use the deo powder both under the armpits and on other areas of the body. Just shake a small amount of powder where and when needed and you will immediately be reminded of exotic beach holidays and coconut suntan lotion, Malibu cocktails and coconut milk. The fragrance is so light and soft that its very pleasant indeed and its not at all over powering once in use.

I wouldn't say its 100% succesful as a stand alone under arm deo, it does have its faults. It is a loose powder so over the course of the day, its easily rubbed off, so may need re applying for maximum effect.

I think as a light deodorizing all over body powder it works at its best. It can be lightly dusted on and does a more subtle job than a spray product. You could combine it with the Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers G fragrance, as I do, which matches and compliments very well.

I would recommend it, but as above, more of an all over dusting of absorbent powder, rather than an under arm deo. Lush do have one or two other products which are more suited to whiffy under arms than this one. They too are worth taking a look at. Rating this as 4 stars for all over body dusting as its more suited to that.
