I have always been a fan of the Lynx brand and use this as my main body spray. Lynx has been around for many years and outside of the UK the brand is known as "Axe" The Lynx brand is produced by Unilever and has been produced since the early 1980's. There is in excess of 15 different types of the Lynx body sprays.
The Lynx excite has a strong unique scent to it which in my opinion is very pleasant, it is generally quite long lasting also.
Lynx themselves have recently researched the Compressed can and the cans available now are different to the photo's posted on this site. The newer cans have a twist top which allow you press the cap and release the scent. The benefit of this is that it ensures that when the top is in the closed mode that it can not be accidentally released and wasting the spray which is of a benefit.
As with all Lynx products they tend to be fairly expensive compared to other brands and this 150 ml can is currently £3.19 at my local Lidls' on they have an offer of two cans for £4.00. There are offers to be had on the Lynx excite and it is available at discounted stores like Home bargains, B&M's etc considerately cheaper.
Lynx Excite is available in two sizes which are the 150 ml and the newer 200 ml "XL" size which is obviously more expensive. Lynx excite is also available in a shower gel format.
I am a fan of the Lynx brand and this is yet another great unique smelling body spray which I would recommend.
*** Lynx Excite Fragrance ***
This fragrance I find quite strange, it doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the Lynx range and is very original. Although I do kind of like it for this reason, it still isn't one of my favorite fragrances.
This spray has an extremely diverse range of smells, many of which I would originally not put together. It combines the smells of a musty and wood-like scent with a subtle floral aroma as well as a hint of vanilla - the longer you spend smelling the fragrance, the more you will be able to pick out. You will certainly have enough to to do this as I was very impressed with how long this fragrance in particular lasted once applied. Even after spraying first thing in the morning, it can still be smelt on me and my clothes before going to bed. The smell is obviously a bit more subtle after this time but it can still be noticed well.
The smell seems to stray from the usual Lynx range of fragrances and it seems to have a more mature and sophisticated association. As this is still relatively new to the market, maybe this is a sign of Lynx moving towards fragrances for this age bracket instead of their current teenage to late 20s main demographic?
*** Lynx Deodorant in General ***
I have grew up using Lynx deodorant, every morning I will go into my wardrobe and at random pick up one of the 10 or 11 different fragrances I have in my "Lynx Box" - yes, I actually have an entire box dedicated to lynx products (deodorants, antiperspirants, shower gels and even shampoos), - and spray myself for a couple of seconds to instantly make myself attractive to the opposite sex (At least this is what the adverts claim - I have a feeling this may be a bit of an exaggeration though, no girls have crawled out of an overturned bus for me... yet).
For those of you who may be interested to see this "Lynx Box", I have taken a photo just for you:
The packaging of the deodorants seems to change pretty much yearly. The deodorant comes in a pretty standard metal cylindrical container as many deodorants do, from the cheap no-brand deodorants to the more expensive ones, therefore there is nothing really remarkable here which would make you want to purchase this over another. However, the main difference between this packaging and others is the twist top mechanism on top of the metal container. As the description suggests, this mechanism means that in order to reveal the button to initiate the aerosol dispersion, the user must twist the lid to reveal it. When untwisted, the button is completely level with the top of the lid and is also jammed meaning that there is no change of accidental dispersion in, for example, a bag. With traditional containers, such as you will generally now see on the un-branded deodorants, I always found myself opening up my karate bag to a very pleasant smell - this is definitely not what I expect to find and although this sounds good, it meant that my deodorant can was now empty without me wanting it to be.
Very very very goood spray. Not too strong like the others i actually enjoy the smell . Sometimes i use it like a perfume just cause i love the smell. Doesnt seem like deodorant more like a good spray for smell which i use it for mostly. Its really good and better than some of the other axe bottles which have a strong odor and last only a couple minutes. I use this and still smell it hours later Very long lasting love it. Very affortable use for everything as deodorant , perfume , quick spray whatever u want.
I love Lynx stuff - I have my favourites but I love to try out the different smells. My dear other half bought me some Lynx Excite deodorant. It comes in a manly looking bold can and doesn't look at all girly or feminine. I do have a personal hygiene problem, and I take medication to try to help reduce the excessive perspiration but it doesn't work and I need to use a really good strong deodorant. I do use a Mitchum unperformed 48 hour one, but over the top I spray this Lynx Excite one and because the Mitchum one isn't perfumed, then there are no clashes. This is just during the week, but at weekends (especially on an evening, after my shower) I like to use the Lynx one on its own.
I thinking this is a very grown up scent and aimed at 'real men' rather than teenage lads. It is a woody musky heavy scent and my dear other half says she loves it. I pay £2.75 for my can but it lasts me for ages and the smell hangs around for hours after I have sprayed it under my pits. I can smell it the next day on my shirt as it still clings to the material.
It doesn't leave any white marks on my darker clothes, which is brilliant as far as I am concerned. The smell seems to cling to my body and suits my skin. It never gives me a rash or an itch and I do have a sensitive skin. It works well and I find it basically will keep me perspiration free and smelling fresh throughout the entire day.
I also like to use this as a kind of body spray and if I am going out straight after work I will spray it all over my shirt and trousers and down my chest, just to make the smell stays around for a bit longer. I also have this smell in the shower gel and when I use the two products together it has a double whammy effect.
I have been complimented a few times at work about how nice I smell - even from the women, so it must be good stuff! I will keep on using this because it isn't expensive, it works a treat and it makes me smell great.
I have long been a fan of Lynx products and have owned pretty much every one of their deodorants at some point over the years. I like the range of scents they have and that they work well. The look of the can is eye catching and has the usual Lynx design. Excite is one of the newer deodorants in the Lynx range and I have owned a couple of cans of it since it was released and would certainly buy it again when I'm close to runnning out of deodorant in the future. Lynx Excite was designed by the fragrance expert Ann Gottlieb.
The fragrance has Oriental Mixture Of Fresh Green Accords And Woody Base Notes, other notes include Vanilla, Caramel and a woody scent which combines with leafy notes to give a rather nice and sophisticated scent. It smells like a more expensive fragrance than it is and keeps the scent well which is another plus and keeps the Lynx brand strong. It seems to be another example of how Lynx have become a little more upmarket with their scents in the past few years with a strong line of excellent fragrances that also feature the shower gel too. The scent is also available in Eau De Toilette which is an ideal cheaper alternative to the more expensive fragrances on the market. You can find the deodorant for around £2-£3 but there are some great deals like buy one get one free or two for three.
I would recommend this deodorant to mainly the younger male but it has a scent which is suitable for a wide age range. I really like the new more up market direction that Lynx have gone in over the past few years and it's working out to be very popular indeed. This is a deodorant that lasts well and smells very nice indeed sprayed onto your body after a shower or bath and really works well with the Lynx Excite shower gel too. There are some great deals available on Lynx deodorants and shower gels so why not give them a try on your next shop or next time you are running out of the stuff. It's a really nice fragrance that will generate compliments from people who ask what you're wearing.
I have always been partial to lynx but recently I had gone through a phase of experimentation. However with this lynx product I am firmly back in the fold. Initially I bought this because my girlfriend like the smell but I have been pleasantly surprised and I have to say I am a full convert now. Firstly the best thing about this is the smell. I have never been one for strong deodorants and this definitely has a distinct but pleasant and subtle aroma. You don't have to be conscious of putting on a nice amount in the morning as it is not overpowering in any way. I have to also say it is long lasting which is unusual for a spray deodorant and is usually the remit for the stick or roll on deodorant. I am well impressed by its long lasting ability. As someone who works long hours in an office environment with little or no air conditioning, this product usually lasts me my working day. I think the only gripe that I have is that being from lynx it is a slight bit on the expensive side. However there are two things to note with this. 1) it is worth it and 2) there are often deals in the supermarkets for pharmacies....3 for 2...2 for x amount etc. I usually buy this way. Just keep an eye out for those deals. In short this is a great smelling and long lasting deodorant if a little on the expensive side.
This has to the best deodorant lynx have made. It smells great! I purchased this before Christmas and have been using it since. It had a really nice fragrance that you can actually smell on yourself and it lasted pretty much all day! It's not going to stop you from sweating, but it covers up any smells! Brilliant!
The lynx range is generally very expensive. I only tried this deodorant because it was on offer at tesco! It was buy one get one free :) so glad I tried it because it's amazing, it's smells like an after shave! But is not over powering. Just a lovely fresh and manly scent. Other lynx deodorants don't compare to this, it smells way better than other competitor brands. Ok it's expensive, but it's worth the money. Lynx is one of the most advertised brands out there, so you would really expect the product to be as good as they say! And to be honest it really doesn't dissapoint, lynx have produced a wonderful smell that is great for all occasions.
Easy of use/style:
It sprays really well and is easy to use, i use quite a lot, so it costs me lots of money to replace! It's worth it because I have found something I really like! (hope they keep making it and dont decide to stop!)
Also the actual deodorant can looks really stylish on the shelf. Looks great on my bathroom shelf. You almost don't want to throw the used ones away because they look so good. They are really well designed.
I really like this product and I think it's worth giving lynx excite a go. It's perfect for any ages. Lynx excite is brilliant! Lynx as a brand is expensive! But when there products are on offer they are well worth a try, I have found lynx excite to be the best smelling deodorant! I would prefer if they released a lynx excite antiperspirant so it would stop the sweat than that may appeal to a wider market, but this works well and I am happy with it.
Overall I would give this product 5 stars :)
Thanks you for reading!!
I had two body sets of Lynx at christmas one of which been "africa", one of my all time favourites and this new "excite" fragrance.. I thought i'd dive straight in to the new one and come back to my old time favourite after, but after getting a wiff of this I physically was excited! It was one of the only products that literally did what it said on the tin! "Sad I know.."
Anyway in terms of deodrant what can you say you open the lid or in this case turn the lid and then spray, when it runs out you through it away! So why the hefty price tag?
Well Lynx is just one of them names that when you hear the name or see the bottle no matter what the damage is at the till if it looks and smells the part then we will buy it, even if it means we could of had 3 bottles of Asda's value spray for the same price!
I believe that Lynx has a much more dominant smell about it in comparison to the competition and its definitely one of them smells that you could just pick out who's wearing it and who's not!
Even when applying quite a lot at once it isn't too overpowering, its just more of a nice inviting smell which generally lasts all day long..
If your the type of person who works in a very active job or generally sweats a lot then I would advise the use of Lynx over the cheaper brands and also my new personal favourite "Excite"!
Well I guess that being that it is present giving time it was inevitable that a glut of deodorant reviews was in the pipeline. Lynx is a brand I have used in the past, but have found just a tad expensive to be my preferred deodorant. They certainly seem to have captured the market with their enthusiastic and clever adds.
Lynx excite is quite a nice deodorant, and the subtle but evident hints of vanilla give it a slightly sweet overtone. It also has hints of some floral aromas, which I am not adverse to. There is also a freshness about it which I rather like, whether I'd have called it excite though is doubtful, refresh might have been more appropriate. It comes in the now ever familiar black can with twist top to prevent spraying unnecessarily. All the Lynx cans are the same with the exception of the main colour and obviously the sub name in this case Excite.
The Lynx range is expensive in comparison to other deo's, but it does have one obvious advantage, and that is its longevity. The scents are quite strong and they last for pretty much most of the day, which is not something one can say of the cheaper brands. Unfortunately the adverts which are both colourful and a bit tongue in cheek portray the deodorant as captivating to women and a lure if you will. It does not unfortunately work as well with me not Angels flocking to my door, no queue's of babes strolling to me in twos, but I do smell nice, so I guess the defective part of my own private add is ME.
At around £3.39 per normal can size it is dearer than most other deo's, as to its effectiveness well that would have to be a big plus, another plus would be the nice scent of this version, so I guess in the end you get what you pay for. There are quite a few different variations of Lynx and some are just a bit too sweet for me, but this one is rather nice.
