Lynx has become the dominant brand of mens deodorant and comes in many fragrances from great to questionable. Instinct lies somewhere in the middle. The scent is unmistakably masculine and could be described as quite soapy. It's not great, but it does the job. The fragrance is very strong - a little goes a long way, which means it lasts longer than other brands. It also works quite well at reducing perspiration, despite only being a body spray rather than an anti-perspirant. The best part of the new Lynx cans is that the spray is concealed in a twisting mechanism, meaning the spray cannot go off accidentally in a bag - useful if you travel a lot or do sports. Out of all of the lynx series I would not reccomend this one particularly, especially not to smell 'presentable', but it does the job of a deodorant in every day situations and sports. Manages well when I go running in the morning!
Linx body spray is a brand I use on a regular basis as I always know it is such a good quality spray and it has a nice fragrance to it, it is always good value for money and they are always super smelling fragrances, that suit my lifestyle for everyday usage. I bought this one recently from Sainsbury's it was priced at only £2.69 for 150ml and it is a nice design canister and it has a screw top, the spray disperses just how I like it, when being sprayed all over my body and under my arms, it keeps me nice and dry for a very long time and it also makes me smell nice and fresh. It is a masculine fragrance and it is does not contain too much scent for my liking and I use the Linx spray brand for casual outings and for work, I find it is not over powering, and I just spray a little under my arms and body and it keeps me fresh for most of the day. The can is small enough to place in an over night bag, which I often take these sprays with me when I work away or go on holiday or over night stays and the can fits nicely in my bag and takes no room up, considering some other brands tend to be a little on the large size for those occasions but this one is a nice size. I love the way the spray sits on the skin after use, it is easy to press the nozzle and it sprays an even spray and it does not at all feel too wet after spraying, in fact it is quite the opposite, it dries in no time and it does not feel tacky on my skin either. It is well worth every penny and the smell of this one is more like an aftershave smell as I can only describe it in my words, I really like this one as it makes me feel I have a little extra aftershave on but not with the added extra smell to make me smell as if I have just come out of a fragrance shop etc. This is a deodorant spray as well as a body spray and so it is twice as good for the use of it, and I find it very quick to use in the mornings after my shower and I am ready for the day etc and it saves me having to use 2 sprays on a weekday and so saves me lots of time to stay nice and fresh. This one does not leave a residue on my clothing as it dries fairly quickly and I have used it in the summer months too and I have found it always keeps me nice and dry and my shirt has never had any stains etc, which is good as that can look appalling. I think this is also a nice one for anyone who is trying to save a few pennies as it is a super one for evening wear as well as every day wear and I like it a lot. The fragrance does last for a long time too on the skin and my wife loves this one too and she has used it a few times as she likes to use my Linx products from time to time, which I do not mind, as it tells me she really does like the smell herself too. i highly recommend this one as it is 2 for the price of 1, a deodorant and a body spray and worth the price. I rate this one 5 stars.
I got this as part of a Christmas present last year. i got a double pack of this 150ml Body Sprays along with something else. I tend to get a lot of Smelly things for Christmas. Not sure if people are trying to tell me something, or just that most men get lots of these things, but it saves me from buying my own for a large chunk of the year. I had never tried this lynx before, but I like most of the ones i've tried. This has the same look as other Lynx Sprays. The black tin with the twisty lid. The writing is in white for the Lynx part, and the rest of it is a medium brown colour. Looks a bit like the colour of mud, and from the look of it I somehow think of Caveman for some reason. I think the 150ml tin costs around the usual £2.50 but the double packs cost £4 normally in my local Asda. So how did this smell? Quite odd. It smells like Leathers, and there is a heavy smell to this. There is no other way to describe this other than Leather goods like, Imagine a Leather Jacket in the sun and you aren't far short of the mark of this. It smells very masculine, and although I aren't overly keen on this due to the "different" scent, there is something sort of ok about this. Not really for me, but sure other people who like dfferent smells would probably like it. Since I still see this for sale then someone somewhere must be buying it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lynx Instinct Deodorant Body Spray -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do like to smell nice and I hope other people too, because I don't really like people that smell badly. It's never really nice especially not when you have to work with somebody or sit in the train next to somebody that smells. That's why we use deodorant! And I'm a fan of the lynx range. Lynx Instinct Deodorant Body Spray is just one of the many that Lynx has in his range of products, but it shows that even Lynx can get it wrong! Lynx has quite a range of products and these days it shows adverts on television where you see the man getting women by using this product. Well I don't know if that's a plus or negative, because I imagine it would be quiet annoying having a group of women running behind you every day. So no, it never happened to me or anyone else that I know. But does it work and preventing me to smell badly? Well it depends really if you like the scent, because for me it's not really working. Normally a Lynx deodorant is nice and fresh and sometimes a little bit sweet, but not this one. This is more very sweet, but like leather and that's not the smell I like. It's not awful and it's something you can definitely were without people looking funny at you. The new can that Lynx have been using now is really nice and handy. This screw cap on the can prevents you for spraying per accident or that the can will leak in your bag. It's easy to use. It got a really good design. Lynx Instinct Deodorant Body Spray isn't really one I would recommend for smelling nice during the day or you like the scent of leather, then you can use this one. But for me it's too sweet and I like more of a fresh smell. The spray is very friendly to my skin and it never irritates, which is really important. Overall Lynx got better ones to choice from.
One of Lynx's newer lines, and one which I've not been sure about for a while (though my thoughts have been confirmed on here!). I too have used Lynx products since the year dot. This was marketed well enough for me to buy a canister when I was browsing through the Lynx deodorant sprays in the shop. It doesn't look quite as garish as some of their deodorant sprays. I just wanted a spray on deodorant for after sport - something that was cheap enough to chuck in my kit bag and spray on without upsetting the entire change room. Whilst this isn't the worst Lynx spray on that I've tried, it isn't the nicest smelling: The promise of the "aroma of rare leathers" isn't far off the mark. It's dry, and does smell quite like leather. It just doesn't happen to smell particularly nice. I haven't sent anyone running from the changing room just yet, but it's one of those sprays where you probably don't mind trying it, but I wouldn't buy another.
**Introduction** I have long been a user of all things Lynx and have probably owned all the different varieties at some point in the last ten-fifteen years. I would have thought that nearly all of you got some kind of toiletries for Christmas, as most people do. Amongst others I received a Lynx Instinct gift set which I thought would be another good fragrance from Lynx when I heard it was being released last year. Things however didn't go quite to plan and this is my review of Lynx Instinct Deodorant Body Spray. **Instinct** As I mentioned in the Introduction I have always liked Lynx products and apart from a couple of bad experiences have been very satisfied with their products. Lynx Instinct was released in 2009, The scent includes notes of cardamom, amber, and atlas cedar to produce a spicy scent of leather. This is where the fragrance separates from the normal Lynx and sadly it's not an entirely good departure. Spray it on after a bath or shower and it mixes well and has a nice fresh smell but after time it does get rather stale and the scent begins to smell rather musky and not in a good way. **Price and Offers** You will be able to find this deodorant for around £2 in most places and as usual there are plenty of offers on Lynx deodorants so I'm sure you'll be able to find it in a buy one get one free or another similar offer. If you get it for the first time it might be worth picking up a Lynx you know you like as well just in case you don't like the smell of this one once it changes scent after a few hours. **Overall** I would give this deodorant three stars out of five as although it's not up there with the best from Lynx it does smell alright from out of the shower or bath. If you have been tempted by this deodorant then give it a test next time you are in Boots or wherever you see it. This deodorant is also available in the Bullet version which is a small top up kind of thing for when you are out and need a spray of freshness. If you were to buy Lynx Instinct I would recommend you have another deodorant too as it might grate on you if it was the only one you were using. I won't be buying this any time soon.
Lynx instinct is a fairly new fragrance from lynx, its got a great name, and a great bottle and I had really high hoped for this product as it had a great advertising campaign behind it as well but really it just didn't do all that well, the smell is nothing special, its not that bad, but just not that nice, not like most the lynx fragrances are any way and so this is definitely one lynx that I wont be buying in any hurry in the future. The smell is described as smelling of rare leathers, I'm not sure if that should be a good thing or bad thing, and I'm not sure what rare leathers are meant to exactly smell like, so for all I know they may have got the scent perfect. However its just not a smell I enjoyed, its fairly sweet, but not in the way the dark temptation chocolate one is, this one isn't a very nice sweet smell, perhaps too sweet and over powering, and I just don't like it much at all. The spray set me back about £2.60 and so I'm fairly disappointed in this purchase, and its certainly one that I wont be getting again, as well as warning my friends not to buy it either, just not a great scent from lynx this time.
My overall review score: 2/10 I must say that I have to totally agree with Bishopview on this one! I too received this Lynx Instinct bodyspray as a christmas gift and was initally quite happy as I have always used Lynx products in the past. This soon turned to extreme disappointment when I actually used the product. I think they may have tried to be a bit too extreme with this fragrance! When I initally sprayed the lynx, it took me way back to the days when my dad used to use Brut (sorry to all those Brut lovers)! It certainly is a strange pungent smell. I can vaguely see where Lynx are coming from with the 'scent of real leathers' statement on the can but to me it smells more like insence sticks or old pot pourri thats been sat on the bathroom window sill for months. The price/can size is the same as all the other Lynx bodysprays although I must say I do like the twist type tops that Lynx are now putting on their products! To sum up, I would definitely opt for the Pulse or Twist over the Instinct any day. I suspect this may well turn out to be a flop!!
For Christmas my husband received a parcel from a distant relative. Fully expecting the usual gift of a few pairs of dodgy looking socks. We were both pleasantly surprised when he discovered that this year they had ditched the socks for a lovely and totally suitable lynx gift set. My husband has always, since ive known him chosen the lynx brand as his preferred deodorant spray and shower gel. He really loves the Africa scent and so do I but he has in the past tried various other scents and they are always really manly and very sexy. Instinct is the newest fragrance in the lynx range. It is presented in the usual black lynx style aerosol can. It is 150ml. Although very similar to the other lynx sprays in design, I have to say I was disappointed with the design on the packaging. It was neither innovative or exciting. Infact it was rather bland and lacked that certain spark that you would expect from a new product. What struck me as most weird was the descriptive statement regarding the actual fragrance. It is described on the can as a scent of rare leathers. Now this may just be me, but I do not find the prospect of my husband smelling like a rare bit of leather appealing at all. Infact I think the smell of leather is quite a cow pat kind of smell!! When my husband got round to spraying the deodorant. We were both overwhelmed by the sweetness of the scent. It is really overpowering. The smell is manly and dark and quite heavy. There are certainly overtones of spices that conjure up thoughts of a foreign, exciting place. However the sweetness soon overtakes all the nice aspects of the scent and in our opinion just left a pungent and rather sweaty kind of stink. My husband couldn't stand it anymore and had to shower it off. I understand that this is just our opinion, and there are bound to be other consumers out there who love this spray. However I find it so sweet and strong it was bordering on offensive and this product went straight in the recycling. So I guess its back to socks next year!!!
