I bought this when I was working abroad as I can never get FCUK bodyspray abroad. I have used different Linx sprays before (and will write reviews soon) and this was one I really like.
They say "there is nothing quite like the Lynx effect" and that is quite true with this one, one of many in the Lynx bodyspray and shower gel family.
Lynx, also known as Axe outside of the UK, has been around for 30 years so it makes me feel confident that's its a decent & also safe product to use, it's also part of the Unilever group which owns many other famous brands like Dove, Hellmans, Lux, PG Tips, Ben & Jerrys... I like it being part of a big group as it gives me confidence in the product.
The Lynx brand is catered & marketed towards the younger male and I can see why.
This Lynx Rise is a real modern fresh fragrance, has a zesty lime scent, really makes you wake up and feel alert & fresh for the day ahead. Comes in the usual black Lynx bottle but this has a rather funky modern design on the front unlike some of the older Lynx scents.
I have used Lynx deodorants for years and have tried just about every one they have released and always try their new products when they come out. I recently saw this one in my local Boots store and thought I'd try it as It was an offer on all deodorants and shower gels in certain ranges. I can't remember which other deodorant I bought at the time but it wasn't a Lynx one as the offer was on several brands as is quite usual in Boots. So what is this deodorant like and would I recommend this one to you as I would many of their previous products.
Right from the off you get that lovely citrus mix of lemon and lime which is fresh and very pleasant. I was impressed from the first spray so I left it a little bit and got on with my day, It's an excellent deodorant and it lasts rather well compared to some similarly priced deodorants as Lynx are one of the relatively cheaper brands. This can is a 150ml can which will last you quite a while even with sole regular use if you are someone who tends to have only one can at a time and renew when needed. Like the other Lynx deodorants there's also the shower gel of the same "Rise" variety. I've always found that the combination of the deodorant and the shower gel works well together.
**On the skin**
When I first used this shower gel I felt it was very smooth and felt good on the skin whilst applying and also once I had dried and dressed. This is something that I always look for when I am looking for a new shower gel or deodorant. With the deodorant I didn't find any patchy marks or itchy underarm skin. So overall I was very impressed with this part of the product as you always want a deodorant to smell nice but also to be kind for your skin and not irritate it especially if you have particularly sensitive skin and if you do happen to have that then It should be okay for you.
I would certainly recommend this to any men who like Lynx deodorants and like a citrus type scent, also if you're a woman reading this and like a citrus scent on your man then why not get this for them. An excellent scent which feels good on your skin and will last a decent amount of time even on a hot day where it will obviously be a little shorter but still a decent amount of freshness. Another excellent deodorant which I will certainly buy again sometime.
This new Lynx Rise anti perspirant deodorant is a fantastic product, it is pure quality in a can, I often buy the cheaper imitation, or no namer basic deodorants because some of them smell just as nice as some of the regular Lynx and other top branded body sprays in my opinion, but with this new anti perspirant by Lynx I am more than happy to pay the extra amount, It smells great but more importantly it really does keep you fresh, and I am not some one who falls for a big and well branded product, especially the ones that Lynx do do, although I do find them entertaining, but there are certain big brands that get it right from time to time and you feel your paying a premium for the product content rather than name and I feel this is one of those, get some purchased and you wont be disappointed.
I'm not a huge fan of Lynx. I was when I was a teenager but as an adult male I've realised that Lynx may not be the best option for me. Unfortunately every Christmas or everytime someone goes to the supermarket and I ask for a can of anti-perspirant I end up floating in cans of lynx!
The latest 'scent' to grace my bathroom has been "Rise". I'm not sure as to what Lynx are marketing this smell as but to me it smells of a mix of lemons and limes, essentially a 'citrus-y' combination. The smell is too overpowering and sickly for my liking and I don't really like smelling of it on the ward. The one morning I did wear some I got a few comments from patients to lay off the deoderant!
Other reviewers have mentioned that they have gotten up to 10 hours out of the scent. I've no idea where they buy their lynx or how much they put on in the morning but I get about 2 hours out of this before it wears off. Admittedly I do change in and out of my clothes two or three times a day (in and out of scrubs) so I may not be the most accurate test case. Other anti-perspirants however do work regardless of whether I'm in scrubs or slacks so I figure it's the lynx at fault.
Using lynx is the same as any other deoderant, hold it about 15cm or so from your body and spray. Any closer and it becomes irritating to my skin. Also, being close to the skin results in the spray pooling as droplets which can stain your clothes.
The design on the can is eye-catching no doubt but I still can't get around the lynx association with 12 year old kids. My own personal bias against Lynx has probably warped this review but to cut to the important parts; lynx doesn't last that long or prevent you sweating. Other products provide both those things and don't overpower your neighbours with their smell. My recommendation would be that if you like Lynx products then buy this, you won't be disappointed, if however you want a more sophisticated smell then go to the Sure for Men or L'Oreal Men Expert range.
Lynx have been dominating the deodorant market for years and when they bring out stuff like this it is easy to see why! The lynx rise has a uplifting citrus smell which I find is perfect for the mornings. (Probably why its called rise!) The smell lasts for about 10 hours depending on the weather and other factors. The smell is not overpowering when first put on and does not fade towards the middle / end of the day.
The can is easy to use. You simply hold it, twist the safety cap and spray on to where ever on your body. The safety cap is very useful as if the can is in a bag or suitcase it cannot leak. It also stops young children spraying it into their eyes or mouth. The recommended areas to spray the deodorant onto are the arm pits and chest. The graphics on the can are very eye catching and fresh as well.
The can lasts a reasonable amount of time. I used mine every morning on both armpits for nearly one month. Much better than other deodorants that seem to have a large can and run out after a week!
Overall, a great deodorant. It smells great, it lasts most of the day and although it does not stop you from sweating, it does disguise the smell. A great product for just £2.50!
At Christmas I got a spray can of the Rise variety of the LYNX deodorant body spray as part of a gift pack alongside a bottle of the LYNX Rise showergel (not yet used) and LYNX recover showergel (see review). As I have said before, I am a big fan of LYNX products and usually love their rich, long lasting and attractive fragrances. This particular variety comes with the strap-line "with exhilarating citrus extract".
The deodorant comes in an attractive can with a shiny yellow/green background and a funky looking design consisting of an explosion of blue spheres flying out from the LYNX logo in the centre. As for other recent varieties of LYNX body-spray, the cap of the can is quite an innovative design: it consists of a protective plastic collar which you have to twist by a quarter turn in order to reveal the spray nozzle. When the collar is up, the top cannot be depressed which is handy if you want to transport the product in a bag because it means that it cannot be accidentally be sprayed due to something lying against the top or whatever. When the collar is down you simply press one side of the top and the spray comes out the hole at the opposite side. The directions on the can suggest you hold the can 15cm away from your body when you spray. You are advised to use in short bursts in well ventilated places only and to avoid direct inhalation.
I find this product to be a great deodorant for use first thing in the morning or when you want to freshen up during the day. It has a great fruity and citrusy scent which is very effective in waking me up and helping me start my day. For me I would agree with the branding that it is an exhilarating body spray. As with other LYNX products the scent is nicely strong and long lasting throughout the day, so I do not find I need to reapply it often unless I have a shower.
LYNX products do tend to be more expensive than many deodorant brands, especially store brands, and this can is currently available from boots for £2.91. I think this is a fair price, especially if it helps me to wake up in the morning and feel fresh when starting my day.
Thank you for reading. Review may also appear on Ciao.
Lynx has a great range of deodorants, I'm sure you'll have seen some of the adverts. The chocolate man advertising Lynx Dark Temptation was my favourite and most memorable. I wonder if he's got his arm back yet...
The deodorants I get are all by Lynx, they're all 150ml and they range from 1GBP to 3GBP. At Boots it's 2.91 GBP I think.
The name suggests it's something to use when you wake up, when you rise. But you can use it whenever you want, before you going out is the most ideal.
This is by far the best smelling deodorant Lynx have come up with. It's not just me that thinks this, my cousins and friends have all said the same! The graphic on the bottle is really impressive, it's bright and explosive colours emit energy and radiance. To use it, you twist the lid and then just apply pressure and spray, it's simple. It's recommended you don't hold the bottle too close to your body otherwise it may sting awhile.
It smells sharp and fruity, it lasts for a long time, I don't have to respray through the day, I just put it on in the morning and it lasts at least 8 hours.
Lynx Rise is full of "zesty lime extract" and "Himalayan minerals", making it an exotic smelling deodorant, it stands out above the rest because it's the msot fruity of all Lynx's in my opinion.
If you want a change of deodorant, or you're already familiar with Lynx's products, then buy this, at least try it out, you won't be disappointed. It's deisnged for all men (and women too I guess) to use and enjoy. It's cheap too and one can of it usually lasts me a few weeks.
