Advantages: Cheap as chips and can overpower even the most potent BO
Disadvantages: The same overpowering risks choking people
I'm not a huge fan of Lynx. I was when I was a teenager but as an adult male I've realised that Lynx may not be the best option for me. Unfortunately every Christmas or everytime someone goes to the supermarket and I ask for a can of anti-perspirant I end up floating in cans of lynx!
The latest 'scent' to grace my bathroom has been "Rise". I'm not sure as to what Lynx are marketing this smell as but to me it smells of a mix of lemons and limes, essentially a 'citrus-y' combination. The smell is too overpowering and sickly for my liking and I don't really like smelling of it on the ward. The one morning I did wear some I got a few comments from patients to lay off the deoderant!
Other reviewers have mentioned that they have gotten up to 10 hours out of the scent. I've no idea where they buy their lynx or how much they put on in the morning but I get about 2 hours out of this before it wears off. Admittedly I do change in and out of my clothes two or three times a day (in and out of scrubs) so I may not be the most accurate test case. Other anti-perspirants however do work regardless of whether I'm in scrubs or slacks so I figure it's the lynx at fault.
Using lynx is the same as any other deoderant, hold it about 15cm or so from your body and spray. Any closer and it becomes irritating to my skin. Also, being close to the skin results in the spray pooling as droplets which can stain your clothes.
The design on the can is eye-catching no doubt but I still can't get around the lynx association with 12 year old kids. My own personal bias against Lynx has probably warped this review but to cut to the important parts; lynx doesn't last that long or prevent you sweating. Other products provide both those things and don't overpower your neighbours with their smell. My recommendation would be that if you like Lynx products then buy this, you won't be disappointed, if however you want a more sophisticated smell then go to the Sure for Men or L'Oreal Men Expert range.
Summary: If you liked other Lynx products then this is for you
