I have been using this antiperspirant for a couple of years now and it most definitely is the best of its kind out there. This product has been on the shelves for years and was one of the first antiperspirants to promote 48 hour protection, long before brands such as sure and dove cottoned on! Since I have started to use this product I have not once had even a slight whiff of body odour. With other antiperspirants, I have found that after long day at work you will be on the train home and you will realise you are a little smelly. Not with this product, you can be confident that you will never smell bad after using it. This antiperspirant deodorant has given me full confidence. Even if I am out and I smell that familiar body odour smell, we are all guilty of trying to having a little under arm sniff just in case it is us, but now when I smell something lingering around me I am so confident it isn't me I don't even have to check. This is great on a night out, after dancing and sweating all night you still don't smell bad. I have recommended this product to everyone. The powder fresh one is just as good also.
I have to say ever since I hit puberty that I struggled to find a deodorant and antiperspirant that actually had any real impact on my body. It is just genetics although it is pretty gross but my family have particularly sweaty under arms males and females included, even though we have clear skin and or suffer from eczema which is distressingly dry itchy skin. Usage As soon as I dry my under arms after a shower I give one roll under each arm and allow for drying time. It may take a little longer than the spray on antiperspirants but the effects last a lot longer. The consistency is somewhat of a milky semi transparent white and upon application the UN-perfumed version does not smell of very much. The label states that it lasts for 48 hours which I would somewhat agree with, 24 hours definitely but after that it begins to smell quite strange not like a body odor smell but almost like a floury, bleachy, sterilising smell almost like a swimming pool which I assume is the chemicals trying to break down any smelly bacteria. So really I like to wash and bath every day like a normal person but it is quite good if you are traveling on a long haul flight or do not have access to a good shower or a bath for a while as it still keeps you feeling some what fresh and at least you don't smell in gross sense. Though after the 24 hour period the antiperspirant is not as effective either but I really do think it does a good job compared to its competitors some of which don't last even 5 hours for me. Typically though I do try to find the scented ones as I thing they tend to stave off the weird sterile smell a little longer and although they all seem to be very unisex the scented ones do sound and smell a little more feminine with names like powder and shower fresh I just think they smell a little milder and feel more comfortable smelling like a baby than like a swimming pool. I can't really say I have much grievance with this product as it has a shelf live of at least a few months much longer than aerosols though if you don't wait long enough for it to dry and wear a dark colour like black or brown I have found that it stains unfortunately. Though despite my many skin conditions it does not irritate any of them and in saying that baby shampoo gives me terrible scurf and l'oreal items make me come out in big red welts. As far as I am aware it snit toxic though I would not recommend under any circumstances trying to drink it but I have accidentally got it in my mouth once or twice by accident and I am still here. (it tastes vile and dries out your mouth by the way.) Prices in Tesco where I purchase it from are usually around the £2 mark and sometimes buy one get one free for 100mls per container. Though you can also get the aerosol or spray version or even a 50ml version to fit in your hand luggage which is really convenient when I have to travel to the mainland to see my mum and dad via the airport.
I absolutely LOVE this deodorant. It goes on quite thickly compared to some competitors, and can leave the dreaded "white marks", but once applied it lasts all day and night and stays firmly put. I found the roll-on version performs much higher than the spray version (although the spray goes on more evenly and leaves fewer white marks). It does have slight tendency to "melt" if you are under extreme temperatures / physical activity, but it still performs brilliantly and does reset itself. My husband and I both use this deodorant - as it is unfragranced, it is great as a unisex option. I love the fact that it is unfragranced, because I would much rather start with a fresh base and then add my perfume of choice - so many deodorants have an overpowering "soapy" smell and I don't see the point of wearing expensive perfume only to overpower it with cheap deodorant smell. The packaging is functional, and we have never had a problem with it leaking or breaking in the years we have used it. It is quite hard to get the last bits of deodorant out of the container - there is always a week at the end of its life when I know there is some left but I seem to roll several times fruitlessly! It can be a bit expensive, but I feel that the price is justified by its performance and quality, and I try never to use anything else!
Overview - I have always had a problem finding a deodorant that didn't upset my skin but also that kept me fresh all day. I bought Mitchum as an 'accident' when there was nothing else on the shelf that looked good...little did I know it was fantastic! Does it work? Yes! I was really surprised as I have previously stuggled to find a deodorant, Mitchum make me feel confident and dry for the 48 hours it claims. Another advantage I found is that, as a woman I was often using strong smelling male deodorants which would make me feel unfeminine, although this is a 'mans' deodorant there is no real smell so nobody notices I am wearing it! Will it irritate me?I have sensitive skin and have found that Mitchum does not irritate me at all and I apply it twice a day (one in the morning, once in the evening). Is it easy to carry? Initially I was wary of roll on deodorants but actually I prefer them now due to their portability (when travelling Mitchum easily fits into your bag). Drawbacks? The deodorant itself is not one of the cheapest however I have found that it lasts for so much longer than any other I have had before. Also for someone like me who does suffer with exessive sweating, I am willing to pay a slight premium for something that actually works! Overall I would recommend Mitchum, especially for those who struggle finding a deodorant that provides such an extensive length of protection.
After years of using whatever antiperspirant was on special offer I had never had a problem with sweat so I was horrified last summer when I started to sweat uncontrollably no matter what brand I tried. Although I showered every day and used antiperspirant several times a day I was still left with wet patches under my arms although thankfully at least it didn't smell I became really self conscious and ended up only wearing clothes which it wouldn't show through. After 2 weeks of this I ended up visiting my doctor and it turned out the problem was due to medication I was taking. As the medication was still very much essential my doctor advised trying some high protection antiperspirant from the chemist rather than going down the route of prescription strength antiperspirants. On advice from the local chemist I tried the Mitchum brand and was surprised when he advised me to put it on before I went to sleep at night then shower and apply it as normal in the morning. Apparently applying the antiperspirant at night allows the active ingredients to seep into the pores effectively blocking them which signals the sweat glands to reduce or stop perspiration. The effect of this can last for 24 hours or longer which is why we now see so many products that claim to last for 24 or even 48 hours. Even though none of us would go 24 or 48 hours without washing by choice if used correctly the product is still working even though you've showered and reapplied it in the morning. Like most people I've never read any instructions on an antiperspirant but after listening to the chemist explain this was how they should be used I decided it was worth a try. The first day after trying this with the Mitchum antiperspirant I noticed a slight difference and after a week I finally found myself able to wear whatever I wanted without worrying about wet patches showing. Mitchum comes in stick, roll on or spray variations with both fragrance and fragrance free options and claims to be effective for 48 hours. The product is alcohol free and dermatologist approved and contains Aloe and vitamin E to help keep your skin in good condition. I usually stick to the roll on version as it's easier to carry in your bag than an aerosol can and seems to last a lot longer. I prefer to buy the fragrance free version but occasionally I have bought the scented versions when they've been on special offer and although I'm not a huge fan of the scents it isn't too strong so it doesn't over power any perfume you're wearing. I find this feels slightly sticky when you first apply it but at least you know it has covered your skin unlike many roll on products which feel like there's nothing coming out as you roll it over your skin. The stickiness doesn't last and isn't noticeable once this has dried into your skin and I haven't had any problems with the product leaving white marks on my clothes but you obviously have to let it dry before getting dressed to avoid this. Thankfully the excessive sweating vanished when my course of medication ended but I'm glad that the Mitchum antiperspirant helped me deal with it while it lasted and would advise anyone who's suffering from this embarrassing problem to give it a try. The Mitchum brand isn't the trendiest brand out there and I probably would never have bought it until the chemist recommended it but if used correctly it definitely does the job. The bottle is a bright green colour and usually costs around £2-£3,50 for 100ml depending on where you buy it which is slightly more expensive than some of the brands but for me personally it is worth the extra cash to have something that works.
I use a variety of different deodorants - some of them sprays and some of them roll on's. I use my dear other half's too sometimes, and she doesn't seem to mind. I have been using the Mitchum spray deodorant for men for years but thought I might try the roll on sort as it was on a reduced offer at the supermarket. This cost me only £1.99 as opposed to the standard £2.89 and the small green plastic bottle contains 100g of deodorant. I have used this particular deodorant now a few times and I find that it works fairly effectively at keeping me odour and perspiration free. I find it is a hard working deodorant and great value for money. My only (small) gripe is the fact that too much of the deodorant seems to come out at once. I think there is possibly something wrong with the bottle I have and I would be willing to try another to see if it is just my faulty bottle, but under my arms seem to take a very long time to dry. I know it's the case that it probably takes longer for bloke's underarms to dry than it does women, as we are covered in hair under there. Nevertheless, I do feel slightly damp, shall we say, for quite a considerable time period after I have applied this and it does not always feel very comfortable dressing immediately after applying this deodorant. It is fragrance free though, which I like, meaning that it never clashes with my aftershave or Lynx body sprays. I use the fragrance free spray in this brand, and although it is SUPPOSED to be without fragrance, I can definitely detect a smell. This is not the case with this roll on though. There is no smell at all that I am able to detect. I like the manly looking bottle and it doesn't look too feminine, though my dear other half admits to having used it a few times and she likes it too. I really cannot fault this deodorant at all. It works very well and fits neatly into my rucksack to take to work so I can shower after my bike ride. Great stuff.
I began having an underarm odour and color problem about 4 years ago and decided to try this product as it was on special offer in boots. I now don't buy anything else I just stick to this as its truly brilliant! Even after a full day at work and a gym or golf session my underarms are fresh as daisies and if need be i could go 2 days and sill be as fresh. The discolouration under my arms also disappeared after a few weeks of using Mitchum. It costs around £2.50 depending where you get it but its a good sized bottle and quite often is on offer in the cheaper chemist stores. I prefer the unscented as find the scented ones a little to flowery however they do the sane job. I would advise you give up all of the tins, sticks etc and just but one bottle of roll on Mitchum... you won't regret it!
I chose this product because of the advertising, well lets face it the packaging isn't terribly appealling and deodorants aren't expected to look good! However, as far as the packaging goes, it is in standard roll on size which means that it isn't the perfect fit for your handbag. However, having said that, it is supposed to last 24 / 48 hours so no need for a top up during the day. I chose Mitchum originally because it was advertised as a serious deodorant and out of all of the products we use, deodorant is the one you really don't want to let you down. I chose unfragranced because i often use perfume / body spray and I didn't want to add an extra smell into the equation. As a deodorant, i used to find this the absolute best. It would last all day, with no sticky or unpleasant feeling and no smells, even after doing things that would get you into a bit of a sweat. However, i don't know if they have changed the product but recently, i have found it not to be as effective. Nothing in my lifestyle has changed so it should work as it always did but with my last purchase, i have found that i have had to reapply during the day which has left me disappointed. I am sticking with it because it doesn't leave a residue, the roll on applicator works perfectly everytime and it is still more effective than products i have used in the past.
This is the best and most reliable deodorant ever. I've tried all the brands but found the smell off putting and performance mediocre. This roll on is great at keeping you fresh and dry all day long. I really like the fact that it's unfragranced so it doesn't compete with your perfume nor make your clothes smelly. I'm not sure that it lasts 48 hours but it does last a day - I use it every day. I've tried other types of this brand e.g the aerosol and the block but they don't seem as good. The only downside to this product is that you need to let it dry for a couple of minutes before you get dressed otherwise it marks your clothes but that is a small price to pay for such good protection. This is good enough for you never to have to look or try another deodorant again.
Although for many years I had been devoted to a rival product, I was tempted to try Mitchum's unfragranced roll-on deodorant after reading a recommendation in one of my beloved glossy magazines. I always go for fragrance-free, because I love my perfume and don't want to give it any competition. I think this is a splendid deodorant, and I'm really glad I decided to give it a try. The bottle is a lovely bright green, and is made of a sturdy, recyclable plastic. The label on the front states that the deodorant gives 48-hour protection. No, it doesn't - at least not with me. But it does provide very good protection against wetness and odour, and this protection lasts for several hours at least. The front label also says that the product 'Minimises White Marks'. I've found that as long I'm careful pulling my black tops on, I really can escape the dreaded white streaks. Over the years, I've also found that if any of these marks do appear, rub the black fabric (from the reverse side) against the affected part of the garment, and the marks should lessen if not disappear altogether. The instructions on the back state: 'Shake bottle. Apply evenly. Do not apply to irritated or damaged skin. Discontinue use if rash develops.' I have never noticed a problem with irritation, not even when I apply it immediately after shaving. The roller ball never seems to dry up, as some other deodorants tend to do, so there is never any need to give it that first little tug to get going. The roller ball is larger than some others, Mum, for example, and so covers more quickly. Not that there's a huge amount of area to cover in an armpit! Although on first application it can feel a little sticky, it dries reasonably quickly. It's currently available (9th October) in Boots at £2.89 for a 100ml roll-on, and is part of an offer of 2 for £3.50 on selected Mitchum deodorants. It is also available in a spray version (which is also excellent) at £2.99 for 150ml. Writing about deodorant is never going to be the most exciting process, but I think this Mitchum product is a little gem, and deserves to be noticed, and I'm happy to give it five stars. (This review is also on Ciao, under the same user name.)
Deodorant is a very important part of my toiletry bag and one of the most (if not the most) important part of my daily bathroom routine. I usually have couple at home, in my handbag and at work to ensure a sweat-free day all day long. I don't usually mind what form it comes in - I use all spray, roll on, gel or stick. A while ago I came accross Mitchum roll-on deodorant, which came with two features that made me buy it straight away - it should give 48 hours protection and there is an unfragranced version, that allow me to use my favourite perfume in addition do the antiperspirant. Happy with the purchase? Well...let's see: --- Packaging --- Mitchum comes in a green plastic container with a roll on applicator and a screw top lid. To be honest, I'm not sure is it because of the wierd colour, but it looks a bit cheap to me...however, it is sturdy and the deodorant doesn't dry on the ball applicator so I'm happy with that. I have a 50ml bottle, but there is a bigger one available, too. It is also recyclable. The sticker to the front is a lighter-green shade and has a logo, name of the product (including information that it gives "powerful 48hr protection" without leaving white marks and scent on it. The sticker to the back has ingredients (contains Aluminium) and size of the container listed and can be peeled off to reveal more information about application (must not be used on damaged or irritated skin and you should discontinue use as soon as any rash develops) in a few languages. I was also surprised to find out Mitchum roll-on is produced by Revlon, which gave a bit more credibility to the product. --- Application --- Well, not much to it, as a usual roll-on deodorant it is easy to apply and as I mentioned above the deodorant doesn't dry on the applicator so you don't have to loosen it before use as with some of the products I experienced before. The right amount is applied, not too little, not too much (it is certainly not leaking even in hotter months), however, it takes a good while to dry. After it dries, I did experience a bit of "crumbling" and some white marks which is something I did not expect! I wouldn't normally mind if it was a good product, but why stick it on the packaging if it's not true??? --- Great 48 hours effect? ehmmm...not so much --- I was a very disappointed this deodorant has to be reapplied every few hours to be fully effective, it certainly does not give advertised 48hr protection (not even 24hrs!). Also, I find it somewhat protective against sweat, but not so much against smell. Therefore, instead of using antiperspirant and adding some perfume to my neck and wrists, I have to overspray the antiperspirant with perfume to be fully effective. Even it didn't work as well as I expected, I didn't want to throw it away - afterall it's not absolutely horrible and can be used. For quite a few months I have been using it without any side effect, but just a few weeks ago (maybe after 5-6 months) my skin becomes a bit itchy after use... --- Conclusion --- For approx £2.59 (£2.89 for a 100ml in Boots now), you would expect to get at least what packaging says. It is supposed to be a solution for people with extensive sweating, and even though I don't happen to be one of them, it is not strong enough to keep me fresh all day. Although not the worst I have ever tried, Mitchum 48hrs protection really isn't worth the investment. I won't be buying it again, cannot recommend it and unfortunately, due to irritation it causes lately, I will probably have to throw the remaining product away. What a shame! By the way, same applies to the spray variation I have also tried, only without itching so far.
Mitchum deodorant **************** This deodorant is fantastic it really works. When it says 48 hour protection it really is true! Working in a physical building job it can be very hard and hot work in the summer time. I always used to suffer from the nice looking under arm wet patches especially in the summer but not anymore after using mitchum . I've used all different types of deodorant and this one up to now seems to be the best. It doesn't have much of a smell but it keeps you nice and dry. I never used to like the sound of the roll on but I thought I would give it a try and it worked. With a roll on there is no mess or over spray. It does not leave any nasty white marks and it never stings my arm pits like some deodorants. The deodorant dries really quickly allowing you to put your arms down without your arm pits sticking together. The 200ml bottle lasts around two to three months. Cost ***** The 200ml costs around £2.79 in most super markets. There are a few different types of roll on. There is a one for men and other roll on deodorants for women. I would highly recommend Mitchum roll on to anyone.
In brief, this is the best deodorant I have ever used! I have been using this deodorant for approximately 10 years and I am never tempted to change as this works so well for me. Before I started using this I found that other spray and roll on deodorants and anti perspirants just did not work properly and I would end up with damp underarms even on days that were not particulary hot or when I had not been particularly active. With this product I have the confidence in knowing that no matter what I stay completely dry. One thing I would say is buy the unfragranced one as the fraganced one (Powder Fresh) is a bit over powering and in my opinion is a little nauseus. Also it is often on offer in Asda so I stock up - they last ages too. It does say the deodorant lasts 48 hours but I do apply every day after my shower - this is out of habit mainly but also for extra reassurance. Definitely a product to buy if you want to forget about underarm issues forever x
I struggled for years with a very unpleasant sweat problem causing unsightly and embarrassing wet patches under my arm pits. I tried several deodorants in order to combat this. I tried the one you apply at night and it stays on for two days - but unfortunately this burnt my underarm. I was out with a friend one day who noticed the patches under my arms and mentioned her husband had the same problem until he tried mitchum. I went straight to boots and purchased it. I have been addicted ever since - it literally controls my sweat 100% and the great thing is it not only has eradicated the sweat patches but also it has given the confidence and trust that I can wear any fibres - and sweat patches are no longer a consideration when buying clothes - I can now wear other fibres other than cotton! I think for approx £2.70 this product is absolutely amazing and definitely the best deodorant on the market. Although it is more expensive than other brands one bottle tends to last me approx 3 months so it actually works out cheaper in the long run.
In many adverts and on many websites this is billed as the strongest antipersperant that you can buy. As I suffer from exessive persiration ( hot or cold outside, active or just chilling reading a book) I decided to spend the extra on this deoderant. I have to say it didn't work for me. Sure was about the most effective deoderant I had treid up to this point and mitchum was about as effective but didn't smell as nice as the sure. Micthum was also a lot more expensive than sure ml for ml. However one good thing did come out of buying the Mitchum. Next to the mitchum on the shelf in boots is a very small and powerful anti pesperant called driclor. I now use this and no longer have a problem with excessive persperation. In my opionion Mitchum is not the most effective deoderaunt on the market.
