Mum deodorant. This is actually an anti perspirant and deodorant. So in theory it should help to limit perspiring and should keep you smelling nice. Its alcohol free - not sure what difference it makes to be honest. Its says its anti sting but personally I haven't tested it straight after shaving the armpits just in case. It says dermatologically tested but with so many chemicals in things it might not suit some people. I prefer a roll on to a spray deodorant as I find the sprays irritate my nose and make me sneeze. You have far less control with a spray than a roll on. Sprays can over spray and be thick on the skin, a roll on is finer coverage. This one dries to a slightly powdery feel rather than sticky wet like some are. I shower everyday, wear clean clothes and don't sweat excessively unless it's really hot. I must have tried virtually every deodorant there is and would still prefer to buy Mum if it's in the shop I'm in at the time. You will pay around £1.20 unless you happen to drop on it in the £1 shop or similar. I think that is a fair price considering how expensive some deodorants are for basically the same job. It's a handy size that fits in your bag or in my case I've got one in the drawer at work for emergencies. Slightly taller and slimmer than it used to be but a nice shape that is easy to hold. I like the pink as it's a pleasant light flowery smell rather than citrusy or over perfumed. The scent is very long lasting, probably all day on a normal day. I apply after a shower, let it dry a bit before dressing, and that's it. It's not a magic remedy but I don't normally need to reapply during a day unless it is very hot or clammy and you tend to perspire a lot and then you'd tend to wash your armpits and reapply anyway. It will mark your clothes if you put a lot on and then dress straight away. I don't believe or have found that any of them are completely mark free and it ruins your clothes. I think this has been around forever, certainly over 40 years, and since it still is it says a lot for the quality and popularity of the product. This is an excellent trustworthy anti perspirant deodorant for a budget price. Makes me think that Mum knows best :0)
I have in the past reviewed the Mum Cool Blue roll on deodorant and was suitably impressed with the quality and fragrance of the brand. However, upon entering my local Wilkinsons recently to re-stock I was slightly perturbed that my usual buy had sold out and I therefore had to choose whether to buy another brand of deodorant or simply switch to the Mum Fresh Pink scent instead. Now I have previously written that I am not really a floral deodorant kind of girl, preferring instead the cotton fresh fragrance but having been impressed with the Mum Cool Blue I bought the pink deodorant to see how it would fare. Like the other Mum deodorants available this one is no different in packaging. The bottle is of a solid glass construction and is capped with a fuchsia pink screw top lid and bright pink label. The clear bottle allows you to view the deodorant inside which is white in colour and of a creamy consistency. When you smell the deodorant I have to say that it is quite floral in scent, however in my opinion over the day this smell becomes quite sweet in scent and is indeed very fresh rather than being heavy or musky. This product is very easy to apply as with all roll on deodorants simply rub the ball over the underarm and allow the creamy liquid to rest on the skin. Although it does go on easily to the surface of the underarm I find that the ball will often stick which is easily prevented by simply using a bit of finger action. In addition, I do prefer to be liberally coated in the stuff so I generally apply a couple of coats before dressing. The beauty of a roll on is that you can simply roll on as little or as much as you need for the day, plus I have found that this deodorant dries particularly quickly and therefore does not leave white marks on my clothing. I bought a bottle of this deodorant from Wilkinsons and it was, at the time, being sold with an extra 25% of deodorant in the bottle, that being the bottle was that little bit taller than normal. For this I paid £1.39 which I consider a bargain considering the longevity of the deodorant and the reliability of the brand. This deodorant can also be purchased in all good pharmacies and supermarket store for a similar price. Having now used this deodorant for a couple of weeks, I have to admit that I love it as much as the blue version and can testify to it giving me a fresh scent all day, plus I have only used a fraction of the contents and can therefore see this deodorant lasting a good few months. This deodorant does not mask body odours as other brands seem to sometimes do but instead it prevents them from happening. Mum claim that this deodorant lasts for 24 hours at a time and I have not been able to testify to this as I always wash at the end of the day. However, I do spend a good 16 hours of the day on the go what with a full time job and a household to look after and this deodorant has not let me down yet. The price of this product plus the fact that it does as good a job as any other more expensive product on the market means I will be scoring it five stars out of five and based on my comments above it comes highly recommended. Thanks for reading! x
I have been using Asda's store's own deodorant for many years because it's very cheap and it works well. The only reason I bought this alternative 'Mum' deodorant was because there was none of my usual in stock. 'Mum' was among the cheaper products available - on sale for £1. This product is a roll on deodorant and it comes in a small glass bottle which contains 50ml of liquid deodorant. It has a screw on bright pink plastic lid which is quite secure. Underneath the bottle has a small plastic ball device typical of most roll-ons. The bottle design is quite good in my opinion but could be improved. One possible concern is the weight of the glass bottle. It's extremely heavy and this would rule out me taking this deodorant in my case if I was travelling. Another thing I've noticed is that the ball design inside wedges against the inside of the lid and the residue of the liquid can then transfer to the lid and drip down the edges. It tends to gather and dry out at the base of the lid. There are a few different varieties of 'Mum' and this one is the Fresh Pink Classic Care. It can be identified from it's bright pink lid and label. There is just a little bit of information on the bottle's labels. The deodorant is supposed to protect for up to 24 hours. It also contains no alcohol. It is dermatologically tested so won't irritate sensitive skins and it also has an "anti-sting" formula which means it's fine for applying after shaving. The deodorant has a rather old fashioned kind of fragrance and it's not one I find particularly attractive. It's very floral but also quite musky and unfortunately reminds me of cheap no brand perfume sets. It's most definitely a purely feminine scent. When I apply 'Mum' I feel that I would like the roll-on ball to be a little bit larger. I find myself taking longer to apply to my skin than my usual deodorant. The deodorant is dispensed not like a liquid which takes a long time to dry but is more like a mix of liquid and powder. It dries almost instantly forming a non-sticky seal over the skin. It leaves no trace of colour or nasty white residue though even on dry and tanned skins leaves no tell tale circular mark around the edge of the armpit. I am very pleased with how well the deodorant dries as it's a lot quicker than how my usual product dries! As far as it having an 'anti-sting' quality I have found this to work very well. It's great for applying right after shaving. It also feels quite cool and refreshing when you apply it. The deodorant works alright initially but is not great if you perspire a lot. I am quite an active person and get sweaty very often. I don't think the deodorant is as good as keeping me dry as my Asda's own does, to be honest. It works fine if I am calm and cool but if I exercise or get hot I find myself more sweaty than I'd like to be. Although Mum is supposed to work for up to 24 hours I don't find it suitable for wearing for long periods of time either as the deodorising effect just seems to wear away. Whilst Mum has some good qualities it hasn't impressed me that much and I will be buying my regular shop's own brand next time. You can have a look at the Mum range at their website: www.mum-deo.com
This is my favorite roll on deoderant, for a couple of reasons. It is cheap and affordable: You can often pick up Mum deorderant for £1. You can sometims pick up bottles with 25% extra free for the same price, which makes it even more of a bargain. One thing to be ware of though, it is not worth stocking up on these as in my experience they do not store well. They can leak and dry up and when you come to use them there is not more material left in them. Fresh pink, the particular scent of this deoderant is very nice: it is a subtle and homely smell. Mildy floral, but nothing offensive, pungent or in your face, it reminds me of clean sheets. It can only be smelt up close. It does a fantastic job!: When I use this deoderant it keeps me fresh all day. The key is to make sure you have properly let it dry before you put your clothes on after applying this, if you don't want to get caught out by the dreaded white marks. The deoderant itself isn't visable once dried. For me it even lasts if I have a particularly hot and flustered day and if I need to keep it on all day and night it still does the trick. I always wash it off and reapply within 24 hours though to ensure maximum effectiveness. I really like this roll on and would recommend it!
Mum is a brand of deodorant that's been around for a long time; apparently, in fact, it was the first commercial brand of deodorant, developed in the US in the 1880s. The scent range hasn't changed for years and years, seemingly. Fresh Pink always seems to have been available, and it tends to be the one scent from the brand that is stocked in small chemist's, and supermarkets with a small range of deodorants. I don't usually buy Mum, but I decided to purchase it because I needed a deodorant, there wasn't a great deal of choice in the shop, and I also had a slight nostalgic impulse to buy it, as I remembered using it many years ago. It's also very good value; it only cost me £1. The Mum roll-on bottle is the type with the roller at the top; in recent years, brands such as Dove and Sure have begun to produce an 'upside-down' bottle, so that it's easier to get the last bit of the product out. To recreate that convenience, the Mum bottle could be stored upside down when it's nearly empty, which is not too much of an inconvenience. The Mum bottle is also glass, which is unusual now. It's completely transparent, so you can see how much is left. I haven't yet finished the bottle, so I am not yet sure if it is recyclable, as I've not checked yet. It has a pink plastic lid, and I am not sure what the rollerball is made from; it actually feels very hard and slightly uncomfortable on the skin. I doubt that is glass, though. The scent is not really my favourite; it certainly is a 'pink' smell, and is quite floral and quite sweet, with a powdery element to it. It's not a bad fragrance, and it's not very obstrusive, so it shouldn't interfere with any perfume you're wearing. It doesn't irritate the underarms. It is not quick to dry, but it doesn't take too long; I haven't ended up with any marks on my clothes since using it. I don't think it's the most powerful anti-perspirant out there, because I do sometimes feel it's stopping working by the end of the day. It does do what it is designed to do, however. I wouldn't buy it again unless I need a deodorant in a hurry, because I don't really like the scent, it's heavy because of the glass bottle, the ball feels quite uncomfortable, and it's not the most effective antiperspirant that I have used. I'm pleased that it doesn't irritate or dry out my underarm skin, however.
I always make sure that I use a good anti perspirant. There is nothing worse than sweaty marks under your arms after a stressful day or god forbid a smell of body odour. This would be my ultimate nightmare and this is why I collect products like deodorants, so I have more than boots the chemist. Out of all of the ones I have sampled over the years, By far one of the worst I have experienced is mum deodorant roll on. I hated it. I can see that it has had positive reviews on dooyoo. But my experience of this product was far from pleasing. I bought this roll on on a spur of the moment buy. I am not really a lover of the mum brand as I don't like it's 'mumsy' image. However, I thought I would give this product a try as my friend had recommended it as she said it offered her great protection. When I brought the roll on home. I was not happy to leave it on my bedroom shelf. I just thought it looked ugly and out of place next to my other more glamorous products. So this poor deodorant with it's sickly pink and white design was put in the drawer with the sanitary towels and hair removal creams. When I finally went to use this deodorant, I was not at all impressed with it's scent. It was quite as I had imagined really. very floral and old fashioned. I was not happy with this scent as I found it overpowering and sickly. I could smell it all day, which I suppose is a positive thing as it shows it is a long lasting deodorant. But for me, the smell was almost as bad as sweaty pits!! I also hated the sticky feeling it left under my arms. It made my underarms feel somewhat wet and really uncomfortable. I also felt that it was quite a harsh product as it irritated and I could feel it burning when I initially applied this roll on. The roll on itself did not drag the skin which was a positive as the product did come out of the container easily. I personally will never use this product again. It is just not my cup of tea at all. It offers nothing in the way of luxury. I like to wear products that make me feel special but this just left me feeling sticky and smelling like a toilet cleaner. The one positive I will offer this deosorant is that it does work well in offering protection against the build up of perspiration. I did feel that it was effective in keeping me feeling fresh. But I would not use this product again as I found it awful!! Yes this deodorant is only £1 in some supermarkets when on offer, but I really think this is reflective in the products packaging, scent and feel.
Mum Roll On Deodorants: Sometimes being fresh is not always that easy if you dont have a trust worthy roll to protect you through the day. I often use deodorant spray but I have now changed to a roll on. My Opinion: Since I used the mum roll on fresh pink I feel more fresh and feel more confident. I cant use certain roll on's that are too harsh as I will just get irritated. This roll on is very mild and very easy to use. I remember my sister used to use this and I thought well I might as well try it for myself she always said how she liked the smell and it was good stuff. The other deodorants I have used never made me feel fresh enough and I was always having to use them to many times during the day. It became a pain in the bum, the last thing you want it to have to apply the roll on too much. It should just do its job like this one. The first day test of the product wet very well, I applied the roll on to my underarm area and went about doing the daily routine. After a few hours I was still fresh and the roll on stayed dry and fresh till the end of the day so great result for me. The Price: So I went on a trip to the shops and saw it in superdrug for £1.29 for the 50ml roll on. If you do not like perfumed product but still want to stay fresh they do a unperfumed roll on also for the same price! The mum brand is famous all over the world and has a range on deodrants and roll on on the market. Mum have been making products since 1888 their brand was invented in philadelphia in America. The package: The roll on has a pink srew off lid and is easy to use, just take the roll on and where you find the deodorant ball apply to your underam and move in a circle motion. This will be the same for the other arm pit area once finished replace the srew cap to keep from drying out the product. Overall: Great product and I will be using this again rather than changing back to a spray deodorant. 5 stars from me!
I've been using Mum Deodorant for a few months now because the chemist by me has been selling it for 69p a bottle, I tried it on the off chance because I hadn't got a lot of cash on me but it's turned out to be a brill deodorant so I've carried on with it. Out of all of them the Fresh Pink is my favourite because it's got a lovely girly smell, it's a bit like talc in the smell and the deodorant feels gentle as you wear it so the overall effect is a lot like talc actually. It takes longer than Sure to dry but not as long as the Avon Senses deodorant I've been using, once it's dried though it doesn't leave any marks on clothes or dustiness under my arms. The ball on the bottle is quite small and I like that actually because some of the new bottles have got massive balls and that makes it harder to put the deodorant without it overlapping onto your arms. It says on the bottle that it will give 24 hour protection but I don't know if that's true. I'd never go 24 hours without washing or having a shower anyway so haven't tested that out but it FEELS too gentle to be effective for so long. I'm happy with it over the day anyway and even when we've had hot weather I haven't felt sweaty, I don't go to the gym or anything like that so don't know how it would cope with a workout but the deodorant worked brill when I was walking for HOURS shopping the other day. Some people think Mum is a bit old fashioned but I don't see the problem with it, for the price I'm paying at the minute I'm well happy because I've got a deodorant that works, smells nice and is mega cheap. Recommended!!!
Until recently I've been using Sanex roll on but lately I've found it doesn't dry very well, it used to be great but I suspect they've altered the ingredients and now it tends to stay sticky all day so I decided to go for a change. I've also got a problem with my skin not agreeing with lots of anti-perspirants so for me to choose a new one can be a nightmare that takes months of trial and error until I find one I like that likes me back! Faced with a shelf of deodorants in the supermarket I was mentally ticking off the ones I'd already had a "skin dispute" with when I noticed the Mum roll ons. Mum brings back fond memories for me because my Mum used to always use it and I can remember it from way back in the 70s. £1.35 didn't seem too bad so I popped a Fresh Pink one in my trolley. The Fresh Pink scent is a very floral scent, kind of like flowers mixed with baby powder if that makes sense. It immediately sent me hurtling back to the 70s as it hasn't changed one bit! There is also an unperfumed one and an aloe one but I didn't fancy those on this occasion. The roll on is in a glass container unusually for these days, it's a taller and slimmer bottle than alot of the other roll ons which fits nicely in your hand. The roller ball is actually smaller than the one I'm used to but works very well. Mum roll on is alcohol free and is of course an anti-perspirant not just a deodorant so it should keep you dry as well as smelling fresh. So to the point, how did it do? It went on nicely and dried quite quickly, I think it was dry within just a few minutes as you'd expect from a roll on and it dries to a powdery feeling. I found the first day it performed brilliantly and I was still fresh and dry at the end of the day. The packaging claims it will last 24 hours but I always wash my anti-perspirant off at the end of the day anyway so I can't confirm this. The second day I did alot of execise and hoped it would stand up to that test and it did. I found at the end of the exercises I was just as fresh and dry as I had been at the start. So far I've had no irritation from this roll on either which is good but that could strike me at any point because I've had alot of problems with various brands in the past. For now though this working very well and suits me fine. Overall I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a nice scent, dry underarms and an effective product. I'm really pleased with it and give it the full 5 star rating.
