Advantages: Nice scent, works pretty well most of the time, does help after shaving

Disadvantages: The price

I like to vary the roll on deodorants that I use, so when I saw this one on offer a while back I decided to give it a go. Even at half price (I paid about £1.10) there were other cheaper options available, but I must admit I do tend to lean towards branded items in the deodorant department as I do tend to find they work much better. This roll on is also importantly an anti-perspirant.

I have pretty sensitive skin, so the name 'Calm and Care' and the fact the bottle claims to give gentle care for 24 hours definitely helped attract me to this product. The bottle clearly states that the product is also supposed to help skin recover after shaving - a definite plus point for me as normally straight after shaving my underarms feel a bit irritated. The study looking glass bottle with the aqua green lid also helped this product stand out (to me anyway, I love green!) on the shelf. The glass is clear, allowing you to see the white product inside - great for seeing how much you have left! The glass the bottle is made from is very sturdy and copes easily with my clumsiness and butter fingers.

~So does it work?~

Put simply, yes. Well, mostly. In regards to its first job - being an anti-perspirant deodorant I find it pretty much does it's job. The only real time that I find it didn't really live up to my expectations was a rare particularly hot day. In Nivea's defence I was also out in the garden doing a bit of planting, but I would have hoped for a bit better protection. On a normal general day however, this product works fine. I wouldn't say it would last 24 hours, (I can't say I've tested this one out), but it does last what could be regarded as a 'normal' day.

I personally do find it helps after shaving, and tends to reduce and soothe the irritated feeling I get. So a tick from me on that one.

The 'ball' part of the roll on is relatively small (in comparison to some others) which means that it is really easy to apply a nice thin even layer, so a plus point for me. It takes a few minutes to dry, but no longer than any other roll on. Fragrance wise, it gives a nice 'fresh' smell, but is subtle and isn't too overpowering as some deodorants can be. Especially good if you want to wear perfume as it doesn't get 'mixed in' with your favourite fragrance. One 50ml bottle tends to last quite a long time too, despite the fact I apply it once (twice if am going out in the evening thus had an extra shower) a day.

Overall a pretty good product. Pretty much does what it says on the bottle. Only two disadvantages are the price and the one day I felt it could have performed a little better. I would recommend this product, but would advise you to try and catch it on the cheap. As mentioned before I do like to vary my deodorants, but would definitely buy again if find it on offer.

Summary: Well worth a go if you can find it at a good price
