Silver Protect by Nivea is my all time favourite deodorant / antiperspirant. It is my go to spray and any time it is on offer I tend to stock up on it as it can be a bit on the expensive side sometimes. Smell wise I wouldn't say it smells particularly of anything really. This a major plus for me as a 30 year old married man with kids who works in an all male environment I really don't want to smell like a pimply 15 year old boy on the pull.
It is an antiperspirant of the highest quality and really does its job very well. My job is very physical and I regularly work 16-18 hour days where grabbing a quick shower isn't feasible or practical. The silver in this spray helps to counter the bacteria in your sweat helping to remove that horrible sour sweat smell that can be given off after a long day sweating into your clothes. As an antiperspirant it isn't the most powerful one on the market but the silver technology is what edges it for me. There is not a chance that any spray out there can stop me sweating altogether but this one really stops you from smelling bad. Nothing worse than people wrinkling there noses at you on the bus on the way home as happens to a lot of my colleagues.
An ideal spray for anyone in a physically demanding and sweaty job. Well worth a try.
Nivea for Men Silver Protect Deodorant.
I have been using this for a couple of years now and find it very effective in preventing any odours produced by sweating. One of the ingredients of Nivea silver protect is obviously the silver ions they use in the deodorant which blocks the odour caused by bacteria on the skin produced during sweating. It is also an antiperspirant.
I do like Nivea products because I feel that they are very good for the skin not only that I particularly like the smell of this deodorant and I find that it does not cause whitening or staining of clothing or clogging or stickiness in the armpits. One of the features of this deodorant is that it is supposed to last for 48 hours. I find that statement a bit bemusing because how can it last that long if it is washed off in the shower every day and re applied? The longest time I have travelled is for about 32 hours but usually once you have reached your destination the first thing you do is step into the shower to freshen up so I cannot really vouch for it lasting 48 hours but I am happy to say I don't think I smell after this long travelling.
I usually wait until it is on offer as Asda often sell this along with other Nivea Silver Protect products for £1 and when it is on offer I usually stock up. The price therefore can range anywhere from £1 when on special offer up to £2.85. At the moment I have a cupboard full of the stuff which should keep me going till about 2015 but I cannot help myself every time I visit the supermarket if it is on offer I usually buy at least a couple. It is currently on offer in Asda for £2 so I shall wait until it goes down again to £1 and buy a few cans. It is sold in all supermarkets and branches of Boots and Superdrug and other chemists.
The deodorant is in a silver metal tin which is silver coloured it looks quite a manly tin being silver with Nivea logo at the top of the skin. This is a pressurised tin so it should not be punctured and the contents are highly flammable so do not use whilst near a naked flame otherwise you might find yourself going up in flames. The spray button at the top of the tin has changed and it is now more functional and more effective. I like the look of the tin and it matches other products in the silver protect range.
How to use Nivea Silver protect.
After washing and drying hold the can about 15 cms from the body and apply in even sprays. Do not hold the spray down for too long otherwise some white powdery stuff will start to accumulate and then start to clog together. It should be applied evenly and allowed to dry before you put on your clothes.
I find the spray quite convenient and easy to use and there is even a handy travel size can available which is really useful when you are just going away for a weekend or overnight.
Is it effective?
I have found it to be very effective both for normal use at home and for when I am abroad in hot countries. It is just as effective in London as it is in the desert or jungle, in high heat and in high humidity. I feel quite reassured that I do not smell of stale body odour when using Nivea products.
I fully endorse this product as other deodorants I have used in the past have either left me feeling sticky or do not last as long as Nivea Silver protect.
I have used a few Nivea for Men deodorants and other products over the years and have had good results from pretty much all of them. One of the most recent products I bought was "Silver Protect" when I bought it on offer along with another Nivea deodorant. I like Nivea deodorants as they tend to have a nice scent which works well to protect against odor and sweat. So how did this particular deodorant in the Nivea range work? well read on and I will give my opinion on the deodorant. With many deodorants out there it is important to get something that works really well and for me I like to wear a fragrance that stands out and people will know what you are wearing or will comment on how much they like it.
This is an interesting scent as it's hard to pin down and describe what it actually smells like. It may seem a little synthetic compared to the more fragrant scents but what you do get is a fresh cool scent that works well. The real key to the deodorant though is the way it defends you against sweat and odor. I have used this particular deodorant when playing Football and also the few days when we actually had a Summer this year. It leaves you with a light subtle scent at the end of the day which is better than a sweaty day. The scent could be better but if you are looking for a deodorant to protect you from sweat and odor then this is a real contender and you can also use a little of another deodorant or an eau de toilette to give you your desired scent that's certainly not to say this scent is bad at all.
You can find this deodorant for less than £2 in plenty of places which is for me a very decent deal as it's long lasting and has a nice scent. There are better scented deodorants out there that smell nicer but there are few out there at the price that give you both a decent scent and good protection against sweat and odor. So if you have a sweaty Job or wear a suit and need to stay cool and fresh on a warm day then this is an ideal product. It's also ideal for play as well and would be a fine addition to your gym bag. Overall another excellent product from Nivea.
Nivea products have a good name for themselves, which is why I decided to try out this deodorant. In the past I have struggled to find a solid deodorant, which is an anti-perspirent that is not sticky. I find that if they are sticky, it can infact cause sweating and odour - which is the problem I'm trying to eliminate in the first place!
This particular one carries a pleasant smelling odour with it, that is quite 'manly' and refreshing!
Cost: It isn't too expensive, and usually the smaller sized bottles are on offer, for about £1. In fact, price was the reason I went for this particular type of Nivea deodorant (because they do have a few) as the larger one was on offer £2.
Finally I feel happy about using my deodorant early in a morning and having the confidence that it will last all day. However, I think that deodorants are something that need to be tried and tested by the individual, because I know things that have worked for me, haven't always worked for my mates. I have quite sensitive skin, am prone to allergys so like to use products that will not be harsh on the skin, and this I find is great.
I first saw this deodorant when it was on offer in my local Tesco. Though I'm not loyal to one particular brand, I don't automatically buy the cheapest product. I know and trust Nivea products - I tend to favout their shaving gel as an example - so was prepared to give this product a go. Everything about is designed to show that it's a Nivea for Men product, and anyone who uses their existing products will be familar with the style - blues/silvers/whites, bold text and lots of scientific sounding benefits to using the product. The Silver Protect boasts antibacterial protection, which is obviously a benefit given that body odour is generally caused by bacterial activity under the arms. Whilst I can't judge the effect on controlling bacteria, I can say that the deodorant certianly lasts a full day. It is easy to apply, though this should be done at the recommeneded 15cm away from the body. Any closer and there is a risk that the deodorant will form a white film under the arms when sprayed on. However, used correctly I'd certainly say this product is one I will (indeed am) be using again.
Nivea For Men Silver Protect Deospray
I like to try out different kind of deospray especially when they are on sale! I do appreciate the products of Nivea and it's a brand I trust. Nivea is a globally known brand with a wide range of skin care products and deodorants. More and more they start to make products for men and women separately. The Nivea For Men Silver Protect Deospray is clearly for men.
The deospray comes in a silver colored metal can with a transparent cap. The spray is part of silver color part but the part where you have to press is dark blue. On the front of the can you have the logo of Nivea and some other information that it's 24 hours lasting and anti-bacterial. On the back you can read product information, information about the manufacturer, ingredients, quantity, a warning concerning the combustibility and a barcode.
NIVEA Deodorant Spray Protect Silver has silver technology that should provide maximum protection against body odor, 24 hours a day. Silver Protect is a deodorant with highly effective and scientifically proven silver technology. The unique formula contains active silver ions bacteria elimination, so that body odor is unlikely. It's without alcohol or doesn't cause skin irritation or redness.
In the beginning I was a bit skeptical about the deospray and the silver technology. The product is colorless and does not leave any marks on my clothes. To be sure I just sprayed on my black jeans and saw that there where no white spots. The fragrance is very fresh, and it is a male fragrance that is also in some after-shaves. A real cool fragrance for men who know what they want.
The effect during the day was actually very surprising. Even after a busy day of working and running around I checked my clothes for smells of sweat but didn't notice any. The spray is really very good and effective. This deodorant is better than I'm used too.
I'm very pleased with this deospray and one I would buy again. It has proven to me that it works and the smell is great. I feel confident the whole day knowing I don't smell and that's the most important for me!
As far as deoderants go.... this is a good one!! Im quite fussy with deoderants and it takes a lot to please me... i like it to have nice packaging so you dont look ridiculous dragging it out of your bag at the gym, i like it to keep me dry after along day at work and i like it to smell nice. This deoderant ticks all the boxes.
The 'silver' range comes in really trendy packaging... and i like the fact that you can get it in a stick or a spray. Its got a nice smell and doesnt make you smell like a pensioner, and it keeps you feeling fresh for the whole day. What more could you want?
My only criticism is that you have to leave it to dry for a couple of minutes so it doesnt mark your t-shirts... but thats worth it for an all round great product.
Living in a major UK city, it's not unusual to see promotions teams loitering the concourse of our larger rail stations. A team employed by Nivea (or whichever faceless multinational sells Nivea products) was there the other day, handing out 35ml samples of this new product to any interested man (or, perhaps worryingly, woman) who was passing.
So I dived in, grabbed a can and later gave it a test. Straight off the shelf, this is evidently marketed towards men, not just with the overlong name, but also the predictable shiny silver / matt silver packaging. I initially grabbed the can because I thought it was another brand of deodorant I used to use... I forget the name because as a male consumer of bodycare products I just go for the shiny silver packaging.
The deodorant itself, however, is more teenage boy than man. Don't be fooled by the masculine design of the spray, because this is an obnoxiously sweet scent for connoisseurs of that pubescent favourite, Lynx. I used it once and got some seriously negative feedback from my girlfriend. She said it made me smell like some kind of sour candy.
I have no feedback to offer on the product's performance as a deodorant because I only used it once and couldn't bear not to wash it off within a couple of hours. My guess is that regardless of whether it deodorises or not, it will certainly overwhelm any bodily odours just as fast as it overwhelmed my girlfriend's sinuses.
