Not a deodorant Ill be buying again that's for sure. There are allot of different brands out on the market and I tend to go for ones that are on offer just to save myself a little bit of money. I quite liked the tin of this deodorant half white half black with a pink lid and even better that it's invisible? Let me just stop you there - it is defiantly not invisible it's just awful. Not only that having to wait for a deodorant to dry isn't great when I used this product I felt like my armpits were soaking like I'd just came out of the shower or something? After thinking the spray had dried I would put my clothes on and especially with black you notice as you get white marks all over it? There have been a few occasions when using it - it dried and crumbled from my skin? After a few attempts straight in the bin! I wouldn't even buy this if it was selling for 1p a tin.
I've had loads of problems with different brands of deodorant in the past, I'm sensitive to deodorant and a lot make me cough and get on my chest a lot. As well as this I have found that some brands of deodorant leave white marks and don't last very long at all. This isn't the case with Nivea invisible anti-perspirant.
After a lot of experimenting with different deodorants I finally settled with this one, it hasn't made me cough once when using it and has never left white marks on tops. It also has Anti-yellow staining to protect white t-shirts. It dries very quickly after applying and lasts for a good while, the can says it lasts for 48 hours which is a bit of an exaggeration though. I usually only have to use it once in the morning to have full protection for the day. If I'm working I use it twice in the day. This deodorant doesn't contain alcohol or colorants so it's good for your skin too
It has a very slight fragrance which is floral and pleasant but if you want to smell nice too you would have to use a body spray alongside the anti-perspirant.
I picked up a 150ml for 99p in bodycare, supermarkets do sell it but unless it's on offer can often retail at around £2-£3 for a can.
Overall this Is a really good deodorant which is good for your skin , dries very quickly and doesn't leave white marks.
I've remained loyal to Mitchum anti-perspirant deodorant for many years, particularly as it keeps me dry and prevents me for perspiring. I've tried many brands throughout my lifetime with none offering me the same results as Mitchum. For Christmas last year my husband presented me with a twin miniature pack of Nivea Anti-persipirant deodorants; one of which was their Invisible Black and White with this review discussing my experience.
Whilst I like using Nivea skincare products I must admit that I was a little nervous when trying out their anti-persipirant deodorants, as I was worried that they would fail to offer me the protection that my favourite brand is able to achieve. My miniature version contained 35 ml of product as opposed to the full sized version containing 250 ml, but this was enough as far as I was concerned, as if I didn't find the product effective I didn't mind tossing a small can into the bin, as there would be little waste.
The claim is that the product will provide protection from yellow stains if wearing light colours and white stains when wearing dark. As I wear quite a lot of black, much to my husband's dismay, this was a good way in ascertaining if the product was as effective as Nivea claim. Despite the tin aerosol being small, its appearance is identical to that of the larger version and is considerably appealing to the eye due to the images depicting the black/white claim.
As with any other brand of deodorant, the can should be held approximately 15 cm from the underarm and I was impressed that whilst the clear spray was dispensed in a short sharp burst, it did not send me into a coughing fit. The scent is inkeeping with the delicate touches of pink contained on the packaging and I would describe it as extremely feminine due to the floral aroma, which reminds me of the Impulse sprays that I used during my teenage years.
I was extremely impressed with the drying time, which was within just a few seconds and there was no powdery residue that dispensed from my armpits, which was the case with a few brands that I tried before I discovered Mitchum. As a result, I felt assured that none of the deodorant would transfer itself onto the inside of my black top over the course of the day. Whilst the floral aroma is very appealing I found it subsided after approximately fifteen minutes although I cannot admit to being disappointed, particularly as I always apply an eau de parfum or eau to toilette to my pulse points and do not wish for its scent to be masked with my deodorant.
Despite working in an office, which is far too warm for my liking in addition to being fairly active during the day, I cannot speak of any wetness under my arms or any offensive odour and I felt confident that the product was providing me with a high level of protection. When removing my top later that day I carried out an inspection to see if I could witness any white stains, but this was not the case although my usual brand offers identical results. I purposely wore a white top later that week to put the deodorant to the "yellow stain" test and the underarms of my top remained white with no signs of any discolouration. I did not experience any irritation whilst using, such as stinging on application and dryness, which gave me the impression that the product is very gentle on the skin. Whilst Nivea claim that the anti-perspirant deodorant offers 48 hour protection, I would never consider going this length of time without bathing or showering, so I am unable to evidence this claim, which I feel is a little ambitious.
Would I make a purchase? I never thought I would change from Mitchum, but as this product offers identical results at a far more affordable price I can definitely seeing me making a purchase once my current supply of Mitchum has been exhausted. You can make a purchase of Nivea's Invisible for Black and White Anti-Perspirant Deodorant from the majority of supermarkets and chemists where it generally retails at £1.64, which I feel represents excellent value for money.
I have to say there is nothing worse for me than applying on my deodorant waiting for it to dry and then putting on a top to find that it is still covered in white deodorant marks, which do not seem to wipe off as easily as they appeared on my top in the first place.
This is when I came across Nivea Invisible Black and White Clear Anti-Persperant Deodorant, it was on special at the time for £1, and I thought I would try it, but held up little hope after all the products I have tried over the years. Only body sprays and rolls on's seem to leave me white mark free.
I am now over the moon that I tried this product and regularly use it. For £1 this was well worth it, it is now retailing just over the £2 mark, I have recently purchased on from Superdrug for £2.30 and I find this reasonably priced for the great job that it does and worth every penny.
It has a great floral fragrance and it is alcohol free, has no colourant's and is dermatologically approved, which is great for your skin.
This anti persperant deodorant is great as it is clear and does not leave any white marks on my tops, it also has protection against yellow stains, which you can find after a while would usually start to appear on you white tops.
Now for the science which I had to look up, it stops the white marks by using a formulation uses which dissolve the aluminium salts which usually cause this residue.
It does boast that is has 48hour long protection which I think is a slight exaggeration, I use it every morning and do not have a problem, i smell great all day. If you are a person that sweats a lot I definitely do not think that this will last a full 2 days.
There are 150ml canisters and there are also some great travel size cans which are great to throw into your handbag for those emergencies, although they can be a little expensive for the small size that they are. When shopping keep your eye out for specials offers on this product, they are now also available in larger sizes as well.
I have tried several products in the well-known Nivea brand and have been very impressed for the most part. One spray that I had not tried before was the "Invisible for Black & White Clear" version which I purchased in a local branch of Tesco a few months ago.
Prices may vary greatly, the usual selling price being around the £2 mark, which is not bad for 200ml.
The packaging is quite eye-catching and sleek, personally I like it a lot. Not that's very important. If I've found my Perfect deodorant, I wouldn't care if it was the most ugliest canister on earth. It's just a deodorant.
On me, it's really invisible, I wear a lot of black clothing and I don't have even one stain. The negative point is it doesn't last long like other deodorants.
It's an avarage deodorant, that's why I only give it 3 stars. That's it.
I have tried several of the anti-perspirant deodorant products in the well-known Nivea brand and have been suitably impressed for the most part. One spray that I had not tried before was the "Invisible for Black & White Clear" version which I purchased in a local branch of Asda a couple of months ago and was so impressed that I have bought it again on several occasions.
This spray is widely available in branches of Semi-Chem, Asda, Tesco, and other drugstores. Prices vary greatly, but I can usually pick up the spray for around £1 - £1.20, although this lower price is a promotional purchase, with the usual selling price being around the £2 mark. These prices are in relation to the smaller canister which is 150ml in size, although I have seen a larger-sized canister available in some retailers.
The packaging is quite eye-catching, although I could not confess to finding it particularly feminine or all that attractive. There is a black and white design on the front of the canister which ties in perfectly with the product name. The familiar Nivea branding appears at the top of the canister in its usual blue and white design and there is a large circle in the centre of the can detailing the wording "48h" in the centre. There is a small 'curve' in the bottle's side near the top of the canister and this allows a steady grip to be maintained throughout use. I quite like this design and it has been present on each and every Nivea Anti-perspirant spray that I have purchased in the past.
The product is one that I found very easy to use. All I had to do is remove the plastic cap from the top of the can and press lightly on the pink-coloured nozzle/button situated here. Immediately after doing so, a generous spray of the product is dispensed from the canister. I have to admit to having a small niggle with the product on this point: I find that the spray dispensed from the canister is not at all light or delicate, and I find that a little too much of the product is dispensed at any one time, so I feel that I am wasting a little of the product each time I use it. I am used to using anti-perspirant sprays that dispense a light 'mist' of product each time I use it, but in the case of the Nivea Black & White spray, I feel the product dispensed resembles more of a small 'shower' than a light misting of spray and I find that my underarms feel overly wet as a result, which is not a feeling I particularly enjoy!
This has been so noticeable that I have actually had to pat my underarms with paper towels or a flannel to absorb some of the excess residue, or stand and wait for the wet feeling to dry slightly before dressing - similar to the normal practice I need to undertake when using a roll-on product. For this inconvenience, and for the fact that I feel I am wasting some of the product each time I spray it, I will be deducting one mark from the product rating.
On the plus side, the Black & White spray's fragrance is quite nice, and certainly there is nothing offensive to be found in it's fragrant aroma. Being slightly reminiscent of a floral-type scent, there is a refreshing edge to be found in the aroma which gives it a rather contemporary feel. I do find that the product's scent is noticeable for a short while after the product has been applied, but I am not aware of it thereafter, and this is absolutely fine by me as I prefer to experience the scents of my other skincare products and cosmetics - such as body sprays and perfumes over and above my chosen anti-perspirant anyway, so no complaints from me on this point.
There are several claims made by the product, with the first being in terms of that bold "48h" wording that appears in the centre of the front of the canister. This claim is explained in more detail on the canister's reverse in the following statement "48h confidence, anti-perspirant protection." I have come across similar claims from rival products in the past that were completely unfounded, but in the case of the Nivea Black & White spray, I must confess that my underarm area felt completely fresh and dry throughout the day, even when it had been applied first thing in the morning. I never found that I had to reapply the deodorant throughout the day, and this was true also when the weather was warm and other deodorants seemed to wear off very quickly. Admittedly, I cannot confess to 'skipping a day' with this or any other deodorant product and thus, the claim regarding the full 48 hour period was never put to the test properly. I was, however, extremely impressed with the dry and fresh feeling that was experienced and I felt the product performed excellently here, with no complaints from me.
The second claim made on the product's packaging is in terms of the "Black & White" aspect of the product name. The full claim is as follows; "Keep your black clothes black and your white clothes white for longer." This refers, of course, to the familiar problem of spray anti-perspirant products leaving a white, powdery residue behind after application which is particularly noticeable on black clothing. This staining can often be near impossible to remove from the clothing without the garment being completely washed in the machine - rather annoying and quite irritating if a particular outfit has been selected, or if the user is in a rush and has to find a change of clothing at short notice!
A second common problem is that some deodorant products can cause an unsightly yellow discolouration on white fabrics which I believe occurs as a build up of perspiration mixed with deodorant products. I have to confess that I seldom wear white-coloured clothing and so I do not recall suffering from this problem myself, but it strikes me as being just as annoying as the white-powder-on-black-clothing-debacle!
I can honestly say that the Nivea Invisible Black & White Clear spray has kept to its word; I have never noticed any white marks or powdery residue transferring from my skin onto my dark clothing. Neither have I noticed any white staining around the underarm area which can occur from time to time when other anti-perspirant products - and in particular, those products that are rather cheaply-priced - are worn. Each and every time that the Nivea spray has been applied, it has stayed where it is supposed to stay - in the 'nook' of my underarm.
Admittedly, I am probably not the best person to comment on the claims regarding the discolouration to white clothing, but any time the product HAS been applied underneath white or indeed, light-coloured fabrics, I have noticed nothing in the way of staining or discolouration to the area in question.
The final claim that stood out to me from the product's packaging is the fact that the spray contains no alcohol or colourants, and the fact that it has been "dermatologically approved." I suffer from extremely sensitive skin and my underarm area is no exception to this, often becoming dry and irritated as a result of harsh shaving products or robust anti-perspirant products being applied to the area.
I am pleased to report that I have suffered nothing in the way of irritation or sensitivity to the area during or after use, nor has the product caused any sort of 'flare' to my hyper-sensitive skin, so I do feel that the product carries a rather mild and gentle formulation.
In summary, I am delighted with the performance of the Nivea Black & White Clear Spray and will continue to purchase it for myself. If the niggle with the spray being dispensed from the canister was rectified, it would be a perfect product as far as I am concerned, but for now I will need to continually 'dab' the underarm area after application to deal with any excess product on my skin. Other than this flaw however, I have no complaints and would recommend it for combating perspiration and keeping the underarm area fresh and dry.
I have always used nivea or sure deodorant as i find them the best and they are usually the ones that are on offer the most. Nivea has never really let me down and the nivea invisible is another great product from them. I have used this many many times since it first came out and have found it brilliant! The packaging really sticks out on the shelves so it is easy to spot and in most places i have been it is usually on offer. It definitely prevents white marks on clothes, I wear alot of dark colours and used to hate white marks showing through but that is not a problem anymore, I have tried spraying it all over a black t-shirt to see if it really works and no white marks show. I think this product is fantastic and definitely worth it, it really does what it says on the can!!
I never thought that you can really go wrong with a deodorant until I found this one. I like the smell and have no complaints about the actual affect when on in terms of acting as an antiperspirant, however I am worried it is going to take years off my life!! The fumes when applying completely choke you, to the point where both me and my partner apply in one part of the room and then quickly try to move away to another part to avoid it lodging in your throat, I quite often go out of the room to spray and then come back in to continue getting ready to make it a little more bearable. It would be great for a festival or camping or something similar - fresh smelling fragrance, however must be applied in well aired, open spaces!!
I would question whether it is invisible as i still White marks on my tops when putting on clothes, granted not as much as some others but do not be under the illusion that it is completely stain free.
I have tried many different deodorants as I struggle to find one which keeps to its promises of keeping you fresh and fragrant throughout the hot summer days. After trying the violet senses deodorant from this range, I decided to try this one which promises to keep your black clothes black and your white clothes white. I hate the yellow marks some deodorants leave behind on your clothes.
Appearance and Smell
The packaging stays true to the Nivea eye-catching design, along with complimenting the promises of the product. When spraying the deodorant it has a slight floral smell but not as strong as some of the other Nivea range, this is well suited to people who prefer a more faint smell to their deodorant, which does not get mixed up with the perfume they wear.
I tend to spray quite a lot of deodorant on when using it, and I did the same with this one. I am sure you could use less than I do, but I think it comes down to personal preference. The fragrance is faint, and the spray does not leave white marks on your underarms, or your clothes. I was very pleased with the results of the anti-marks formula, it kept all of my clothes clear from the white marks that are sometimes inevitable with deodorants. As I went through the day I was relatively happy with the results of this products, although I did feel it did not keep me a fresh feeling as other deodorants I have used, I began to feel a bit sticky towards the end of the day and felt I had to reapply, needless to say I do not think it matches its promise of 48 hour protection.
This may be a good deodorant for people who do not have days which make them sweat quite a bit, but I would not recommend it to anyone who does tend to sweat, I did not feel it gave me enough protection. It does have a muted, elegant smell and does meet the promise of not leaving white marks behind but I have used better deodorants.
My mum bought me this deodorant instead of my usual Sure one because it was on a cheaper offer.
I found this deodorant to only work on some days, it seems to be a bit hit and miss. When I spray it on my underarms I find it feels quite wet and sort of have to wait around for a few seconds with my arms above my head so it dries, otherwise I feel uncomfortable and feel sweaty from it!!
It doesn't have a pleasant or unpleasant smell, just plain really but it doesn't get caught at the back of your throat and that's about the only plus it has really. It says it is a 48hour wearable deodorant and I think it barely lasts half a day because I often find I'm a little stinky half way through or at the end of the day, not so bad that other people point it out but I can feel it and smell it if I have a sneaky smell check. This is on the days where I've been a bit more physically active though ( not even exercising though, just walking around!) and on my more chilled out days I smell and feel clean but there are definitely better deodorants out there.
It has the feature of not leaving white or yellow marks on your clothes, it doesn't but none of the other deodorants I have used have done this so it doesn't make it special in anyway. I've used other Nivea Deodorants and they have worked quite well but this deoderant seems to be really bad for some reason so I don't recommend it.
Nivea Invisible deodorant, Fourty Eight hour protection.
I bought this deodorant after seeing this advert on tv. It is supposed to prevent any white marks on your clothing. I was due to go to a masqerade new years eve eve party so was obviously wearing a very expensive gown and the very last thing I wanted was white deodorant marks on it. After spraying and leaving to dry for approximately one hour (I done my hair in the drying time), I then put my new gown on. It left a white powdery substance on the velvour sections of my dress. So this deodorant unlike it claims, is not so invisible! Also throughout the night the deodorant wore off very very quickly and surely this is the most important part of a deodorant. I personally do not think this is as good as some of the previous deodorants that Nivea have bought out in the past.
I am quite faithful to Dove Deodorants but, as they can be expensive, there are occasions where I will buy a different brand if it is on offer. Invisible for black and white by Nivea was one of these such purchases.
What does it do?
The product is an Anti-Perspirant Deodorant so it claims to prevent you from sweating and to stop any unpleasant odours for 48 hours. It also promises to protect your clothing from getting any yellow stains or white marks on them which products of this type can sometimes cause.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be held around 15cm from armpit and them you push down on the top to dispense the spray. You are advised to wait for the product to completely dry before dressing.
Packaging and Price
The packaging is quite pretty and it comes in a bottle that is half white and half black with some pink detailing. The dispenser is a baby pink colour and the bottle has quite a lot of additional information and facts about the product on it.
The product cost me around £2.50 for a 250ml bottle but the price will vary greatly depending on where you purchase it from. It is available from department stores like Boots, many supermarkets and also from a variety of online websites.
The aroma is described on the bottle as being an Uplifting clear fragrance with elegant floral notes. To me, it actually smells quite masculine and it is more like something I would expect from a men's deodorant. Despite this, it is refreshing and it smells really clean. It is quite musky but I wouldn't really describe this product as being floral at all.
The product does mask any bad smells all day long so you don't need to panic about smelling unpleasant when you are wearing the product. I don't know whether the results would last the full 48 hours as promised by Nivea but then I wouldn't ever go that long without washing so I wouldn't know! The actual fragrance of the product is long lasting and I can still smell it when I am undressing at night.
I sweat quite a lot and I wouldn't expect any widely available product to stop me completely but I don't think this stops me at all. It doesn't even manage to prevent me sweating for even the first hour after application so I would say this product fails in this department.
Most of the clothes that I wear are black and I often dress quickly after applying this product because I'm always in a rush. It never leaves any white marks on my jumpers or t-shirts so it passes this test. I haven't tried wearing this when I wear white so I can't comment on its performance there.
The product contains no alcohol or colorants and it has been dermatologically tested. It promises to be gentle and I have used the product straight after shaving my armpits and this doesn't sting or irritate my skin. It has never caused my skin to become itchy or dry either.
The product works well to mask any bad smells and it also stops you from getting any whites marks on your black clothes. It doesn't get any points from me in the Anti-Perspirant department so I won't be buying this again but for those who aren't such sweaty Bettys as me, this may work a bit better.
Like anyone, I have had the odd disaster with deodorants leaving white marks and it is unbelievably annoying that it always happens when you're in a rush and that stubborn white stain won't budge. The marketing world of beauty have cottoned onto this as their main marketing strategy for deodorants and it seems like every deodorant has a slogan glorifying their lack of white residue.
Nivea's latest deodorant lives up to this claim but then again I can't remember the ldeodorants found a deodorant that does leave that tell tale white stain, therefore I find it hard to justify the price.Yes it smells nice, yes it doesn't leave any marks but from previous experience I have found this to be true of any of the cheaper but less flashy established brands. Don't get me wrong, this deodorant is a good product, it smells refreshing and fresh, I've never seen any white stains on my clothes and it lasted throughout the day without needing to re-spray but these are all qualities I've found within other well known and more reasonably priced deodorants.
The monochrome details on the can tend to make the can resemble a mans deodorant rather than a ladies and I can see that they are trying to make it look more sophisticated and less garish than your average deodorant but personally I prefer to see colourful flowers on my bathroom shelf,
Overall a good deodorant, it's just a shame it has been priced so highly.
When it comes to deodorants I usually just go for whatever is on offer in the supermarkets and this Nivea Invisible was the latest deodorant I purchased. I have to say I was sceptical about the claim of no White marks or yellow stains on clothing but so far so good! I wear a black tops, shirts and dresses for work and since using Nivea Invisible I haven't had a streak of White on any black top I have worn which I am really impressed with as usually you do get a few White powdery bits on black tops when using the majority of deodorants. I also wear White vest tops for bed and there is no horrible yellow stains since using this product! With this product my underarms have also started feeling really 'cared for', i sometimes get quite sensitive underarms when using a strong deodorant but since having started using Nivea Invisible my underarms feel soft and lovely! This product also doesn't contain any alcohol which can sometimes cause skin to flame up, especially in places like your underarms which are really sensitive. The product smells gorgeous, just a real subtle fresh scent that isn't overpowering or likely to ruin the smell of any perfume you may apply afterwards. I can't say this product does give you 48 protection as I apply it every morning and every night after I have had a bath but for the time I do use it certainly does keep my dry and smelling as fresh as a daisy. The canister I have contains 150ml which lasts quite a long time and also is just the right size to slip into my bag just incase I need a top up. This product was pretty inexpensive when I bought it as it was on offer in Tesco but I feel now that I will be purchasing this deodorant even when it isnt on offer. This product not only keeps me fresh and dry all day it also doesn't hurt my clothing! I would recommend this product to anyone who has a busy lifestyle and wants to feel dry and protected all day! Remember to shake well before spraying and keep it 15cm away from your underarms.
I have been using Nivea's Double Effect deodorant for quite some time now. It is regularly on offer - off offer it usually costs around £2 for a 150ml can (there are also 250ml cans available at a price of around £3). I recently took advantage of a 'buy one get one free offer' and bought my usual Nivea deodorant and this deodorant; Nivea Invisible For Black & White.
The can itself is very attractive; it consists of a purple can (it's a bit similar to the 'Nivea Double Effect' deodorant). It has a 'cap' as a lid; I like this because if you have the deodorant in your bag, it prevents it from being pressed and spraying everywhere.
The deodorant is very easy to use; simply pull the lid of and place your finger on the 'button' (there are grips for your finger which is good) and, keeping the can at a distance, spray under your arms.
The deodorant feels very fresh. One thing which I noticed is that compared to the Nivea Double Effect Deodorant (whilst I love it, it does seem to leave you soaking a wet and takes a while to dry), this deodorant seems quite powdery (a bit like talcum powder) and so doesn't leave you feeling all 'wet'. This means that it also dries on very quickly.
The last few nights that I have been wearing it, I have been working in a restaurant. My uniform is black and so I thought that it would be a good opportunity to test this deodorant. Good news, I didn't get any 'white deodorant marks' on my black shirt and so the deodorant does do what it says on the tin (excuse the pun! J )
The deodorant is supposed to last for 48 hours; however, I guess that depends on what you do in those 48 hours. Come to think of it, I wouldn't go as long as 48 hours without a shower, and therefore I can't comment on whether it lasts that long. However, I can say that even after working a busy 4 hour shift in a hot and busy restaurant, I still felt 'fresh' and 'protected' at the end of my shift and I could still smell the deodorant. I also didn't feel to need to keep re-applying the deodorant, like I have to with the 'Nivea Double Effect' deodorant.
I have sensitive skin and this is said to be gentle on skin. I haven't had any issues with this deodorant and my underarms feel really soft after using it, which has got to be a good thing.
So would I recommend it? Absolutely - even if you are wearing colours other than black and white. I will certainly be buying this again.
Thanks for reading!
