The NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Deodorant is available for GBP 2.29.
The deodorant is described as follows. "NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Deodorant – for beautiful, smooth underarms. Together with NIVEA’s 48-hour protection against underarm wetness and odour, its caring formula with precious pearl extracts leaves underarms feeling soft and looking beautiful. It’s the perfect combination of NIVEA‘s mild care and reliable protection."
The ingredients are Butane, Isobutane, Propane, Cyclomethicone, Aluminum Chlorohydrate, Parfum, Butyloctanoic Acid, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Persea Gratissima Oil, Octyldodecanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone, Talc, Geraniol and Benzyl Alcohol.
When I used the Pearl & Beauty for the first time, I was already blown away the scent. The is fresh, creamy and female. It is fortunately not is sweet or intrusive. The scent is also relatively intense even when used sparingly. I spray the deodorant daily morning after showering and also when it is very hot during the day and I get one or two times a sweat, I can rely on it to experience any nasty surprises. The wonderful fragrance will with increasing sweat rather more intensively. Clearly, before the typical moisture development under the armpits, it does not protect. But the effect I've never had a product that has kept dry shoulders. Maybe is not so healthy, I think. Anyway - the protection lasts all day. 24 hours of course not, but who needs that? After at least 24 hours, I am anyway already in the shower, so I do not need. So this is not a disadvantage for me. For me personally also particularly important in Deo is always that it does not make white patches under the armpits to the clothes. Well, I must say, in the variant of Nivea, that I'm quite happy. The scent is very pleasant, the deodorant protection lasts all day and also the compatibility properly. The slight white edges on the clothes, it has for nothing, so I would therefore also deduct no star. So I forgive all five stars and a recommendation.
Nivea Pearl and Beauty
This anti-perspirant contains 0% alcohol and pearl extracts. It is designed to offer 48 hour protection for your underarms. This anti-perspirant is free from colourants and has been dermatologically tested. The packaging consists of a girly, baby pink aerosol can with a twist and press dispenser - no lid. There are some warnings noted on the can and the ingredients are also listed should you wish to check them.
A 150ml can of Nivea Pearl can usually be found on offer around £1 in Wilko, Superdrug and supermarkets. The regular price is around £2.
I personally sweat quite heavily which can be embarrassing. I shower twice a day and change my clothes daily - I'm not smelly by any means but underarm wetness is an issue for me. I normally buy a more expensive anti-perspirant (around the £5 mark) and this suits me when I am experiencing heavy bouts of sweating (warm days, crowded places etc) but sometimes I can get away with using a lighter anti-perspirant (colder days for example).
I normally opt for this Nivea Pearl spray and buy it when it is on offer. I would say that is fine for those who do sweat but not to extremes. The can is easy to use. A quick push down on the dispenser releases a cloud of slightly damp anti-perspirant on to my underarms. I have used it after shaving my underarms and it doesn't irritate. It is best to use this in a ventilated area but I don't find this product to be as overpowering as other anti-perspirants that I have used.
What I like about this anti-perspirant is that my underarms feel soft and smooth shortly after applying. It isn't a harsh anti-perspirant. It does take a short while to fully dry and it is important to allow it to dry otherwise my top becomes damp. The scent of this anti-perspirant is lovely - clean and quite sweet. My underarms do stay smelling pleasant and the scent lasts quite a while. I find this anti-perspirant to be effective at keeping my underarms from becoming soaking with sweat. I don't find it effective if I am sweating badly but it is definitely better than alternatives such as Dove or Sanex in my experience. I do need to apply it morning and night (after washing) to keep my underarms fresh - I wouldn't go 48hours without washing or spraying anti-perspirant so cannot comment on this claim.
Overall I would say this is a pleasant and effective anti-perspirant for light sweaters. My underarms feel nice and not clogged up whilst using this anti-perspirant and I haven't experienced any irritation from using this regularly. It is inexpensive and worth a buy.
Thanks for reading :)
I love to try new products, if something is on offer I will generally grab it to see what it is like.
I rely a lot on my deodorants, I can sweat quite a bit in the wrong materials and I can't stand any sort of sweat marks on my clothing.
Smell, cost and whether it works or not are all important to me. Working as a promotional model/model I really need something that will continue working and keep me fresh throughout the day.
I actually did a job promoting Nivea's range of deodorants, and I fell in love with the smell of Pearl & Beauty (as did many other people, I introduced it too)
The smell is light, fresh and yet almost sweet. It is a 'clean' smell that is not overpowering or sickly. But the smell lasts well and is strong enough that some days I have not used perfume and the smell of the deodorant has been a nice enough scent.
The Pearl & Beauty can be bought in either a roll on or an anti-antiperspirant spray in either a small can or large.
Some of the large cans actually have a twist cap, rather than a lid. The locking twist cap has been perfect for me. I usually lose lids so often find my spray ends up 'leaking' in my bag because other items press the spray nozzle.
With the locking twist cap you just twist it into lock position, and it's safe for chucking in your handbag.
The product design is a pretty light pink colour that looks nice wherever I put it. It looks more expensive than certain other brands.
Cost wise I usually use the larger cans and they generally cost about £3, however there are often deals on and with looking (and stocking up) I often purchase mine at either half price (£1.50) or buy one get one free.
The smaller cans are usually about £2.
I love Nivea products and this particular scent is my favourite. I often use only Nivea deodorants and often have at least 2 available so that I can alternate between them, as I feel that if you use the same deodorant constantly you become almost used to the smell and I''''m one of those people who likes to be able to smell myself throughout the day. Having probably smelt and used pretty much every aerosol Nivea make, from the no white marks to double effect, I definitely have my favourites. I do find that like many others have said, I don''''t think this deodorant would last for 48 hours. I find that it does wear out through the day, obviously depending on the weather, and what you may be doing. I also tried the roll-on version of this deodorant however it was not for me and I definitely prefer this spray can. These deodorants are often reasonably priced due to the fact there is always some of the range on offer and so you don''''t ever have to pay full price. I can use this after shaving and it has never caused any irritation or stinging. I do like this deodorant but I think out of the whole range that this is one of the weaker ones and would recommend that if you are going to buy this deodorant and you don''''t like it, to try at least one more because they smell so pleasant and each one works differently for each person. I do still buy this one occasionally but only use it when I know I am not likely to get too hot or do too much exercise.
I have used this anti-perspirant spray for over a year and it works great for me.
I like the size of the bottle 250ml as it lasts 2-3 months and I obviously use it every day. And although it is a large can I still feel it is quite light. The packaging is appealing and feels smooth, it is just a nice size for me small hands and very easy to hold and spray at the same time.
You can get the required angle without loosing any of the spay power. If you spray too close you do get the inevitable white powder build up so I would follow the instructions which recommends 15cm distance for can from underarm.
It states it includes pearl extract, I have no idea what this is so I don't know if I am benefiting from it. It also claims to work for 48 hours. Now this I would disagree with. It is very adequate for 24 hours but I would always refresh the next day, I don't feel it is strong enough to last 48 hours.
I have very good skin normally but I have found my underarms have got dry, itching, even spots with other anti- perspirant sprays but I have had no adverse reactions at all with this one. This could be because it is alcohol free.
The smell is pleasant, feminine but not overpowering. I also find it dries quite quick, so I can get dressed within a few minutes of spraying. The mot I have seen it on sale for is £2.30 but I normally wait until it is on offer and stock up. Last time it cost me £1, which I feel is very good value for money.
I hadn't tried a deodorant from the Nivea range until I bought a can of Nivea Pearl and Beauty anti perspirant spray a few months back from Tescos. They were selling the 200ml cans at a reduced price of only £1.19 so I bought myself a can to try it out as I needed another deodorant anyway. I have now used the entire can of this anti perspirant but I can't really say that I am going to buy another can, even at the reduced price.
The problem I found with this particular deodorant was two-fold. The first reason I would rate it down is due to the fact that it simply does not live up to its claim of 'working for up to 48 hours. It barely lasts 12 so I can see no way that this is going to last up to 48 hours as Nivea claim it will.
After about two hours of applying this spray deodorant, my underarms felt damp and tacky. I did actually take the can with me to work and re-sprayed it mid afternoon but by the time I was walking to the car in the car park after work, shortly after 5pm, I was feeling that uncomfortable underarm dampness again. I did, however, persevere, and I used up the whole cam, as I didn't want to waste it.
The other reason I am not so keen on this deodorant is the fact that it stinks! It really does have a very highly perfumed smell which, to my mind, isn't particularly pleasant. It catches on the back of my throat and every time I used this I would have to take in a lungful of air and hold my breath whilst I spray underneath both arms - then I would quickly move to the other side of the bedroom before releasing my breath. It was such a strong smell that it actually even clashed with my perfume, which I really hated and the smell was cloying, sweet and fairly sickly.
Overall, I cannot honestly say that I would make the effort to go out and buy another bottle of this particular anti perspirant. Possibly, if it was the only can to choose from on the planet, then yes, I would use it, but as I have such a wide choice of so many other anti perspirants which actually do work and don't smell so bad, then I would not choose to buy this one again.
Sorry, but not recommended.
This anti-perspirant deodorant by Nivea comes in a very attractive looking can. It is a very pale pink and pearlescent bottle, made of metal.
The 200m can cost me £3 from Asda about a month ago.
It has a matching pink pearly lid that just pulls off and pushes back on again.
I have been using this deodorant every day since I bought it about a month ago and it is still going strong.
The bottle promises 48 hour protection but I am afraid I cannot comment on this promise as I shower every day and could never miss a day using deodorant.
The fragrance of this deodorant is quite sort of powdery smelling. A bit like talcum powder, it is light and clean smelling but very girly so this is not a deodorant that my boyfriend can use when he runs out (that's one reason to buy it though I guess!)
After a normal day of normal activity including two one hour long journeys on a train I do still feel dry and I do not smell bad so 10/10 on that one Nivea.
My problem with this deodorant is that after you spray it, it really gets into the back of your throat and makes it hard to breathe. This is the worst deodorant I have ever known for this and it has actually made me gag twice after spraying. Because of this I now feel I have to leave the bathroom to apply this as I have to walk away from the area straight after use.
For this reason on its own I would not buy this product again.
Nivea Pearl and beauty anti-perspirant spray
Price:- I paid £1.00 for this spray at poundland, I am certain you can buy it at any supermarket.
Firstly I have to say I love the lid the light hits it and it shines a nice pearl colour, how brilliant.
When it comes to deodorants I like to mix it up a bit and change often, I'm quite fussy when it come to the smell i spend ages trying to find a nice smelling one and well this one smells amazing it's a nice sweet smell and reminds me of some perfume an aunt used to wear when growing up ( I cannot recall the name of it though)
It does not last 48 hours I'm not sure any deodorant will last 48 hours I tend to spray first thing in the morning and then again after work to make myself feel refreshed after a long day. It's easy to use with directions clearly printed on the can for those of you who do not know how to use it.
Shake well before use
Hold can 15cm from your underarm and spray -I always find this direction amusing, I can imagine someone somewhere holding a ruler to measure 15cm.
Allow product to dry completely before getting dressed.
Another great thing about this spray is it doesn't leave any marks on clothes even when wearing black! Which is ideal for me especially as I tend to wear black dresses on nights out.
It is very soft and gentle on the skin even after shaving
I will recommend this deodorant and probably use it again in the future
I never stick to the same deodorant, and always go for whatever brand is on offer. I tend to sweat a lot, so always go for the ones that claim to last 48 hours. That statement is rediculous in my opinion, as you wouldn't be likely to go two whole days without washing or reapplying deororant. I have found, though, that the 48 hour ones do seem to be more effective at lasting the whole day.
The bottle is light pink, with a simple pearl design on the front along with the Nivea logo. It also shows that it contains pearl extract and is 0% alcohol. The back of the can shows the usual directions for use and safety warnings.
The scent is quite florally, and very subtle. I'm not sure what pearls are meant to smell like, but I'm guessing it also smells like pearls! Being subtle, it doesn't clash with my perfume which is good!
It didn't leave any marks on my clothes, even when I got dressed straight after applying (which is good as the usage directions tell you to wait for it to dry completely before dressing!).
It feels comfortable when applying, and didn't even sting when I used it directly after shaving my underarms.
I stayed feeling fresh and confident all day, though you can get a small enough bottle size that you could pop it in your bag, for top-ups whenever you need.
The current price in Boots is £1.14 for 150ml, or £1.64 for 250ml.
I am always on the look out for new deodorants, particularly in summer. I first tired this one when I was sixteen and when somebody at work started using it, it reminded me of how much I once loved it and I decided to pick it up again. Now it is my regular.
This comes in a sometimes matte, sometimes smoothes can and is light pick and with translucent plastic cap. This has quite a big 'nozzle', meaning there is quite a good spray. And for obvious reasons there is a picture of pearls on the front.
The cans do dent quite easily but this has never effected the product inside so although not ideal this does not bother me.
How much do you need?
On spray under each armpit is plenty enough.
This is very hard to described but anyone who has used this product will now it instantly it is somewhere between sweet and floral and is quite a young fresh scent. And hides the nasty.
Does it work?
I am not trying to gross you out but I am sweaty, very sweaty and I need a deodorant/ antiperspirant that can put up with that. I still do sweat but this is minimal and the smell that comes through is so lovely I don't really mind. I am very please with the way this works.
It says on the packaging it has 48 hour protection, I have yet to test that and doubt that I ever will, but if it gets me through a day at work that is good enough for me.
Price and availability
This can be bought at all good supermarkets and chemists and can be priced anywhere between £1. And £3 just shampoo I tend to buy it on offer and then store it for later use.
Whilst I enjoy the challenge or trying and testing out new beauty products, I would not alternate with my Mitchum anti-persipirant deodorant, which has been a favourite of mine for a good few years. However, in amongst an array of bottles and tubs, my Christmas stocking from my husband contained a twin pack of 35ml cans of Nivea anti-perspirant deodorants; one of which was Invisible For Black and White with the other being Pearl and Beauty, the product I am reviewing.
Despite my husband's enthusiasm of finding me a new deodorant, I was initially a little apprehensive in using, particularly as Mitchum is the only product that tends to work for me and I really did not want to change. However, as I cannot abide waste, I decided to try it out. As my metal can contained 35ml as opposed to 150ml of the full size, I do not intend to discuss packaging other than for advising that its appearance is identical and is appealing to the eye with its feminine touches of pale pink.
The dispensing unit offers a different appearance to that of Mitchum and the deodorants that my husband uses, with its pale pink push down section, which is slightly raised in addition to providing several ridges to enable my index finger to neatly rest on top. As a result, I found it extremely comfortable to hold the canister as I gently pressed down to release the product. It is evident that the manufacturer, namely Beiersdorf UK Ltd, has carefully considered the design of the packaging, particularly as some brands can be a little difficult to hold and subsequently dispense.
As with any other product of this type, the can should be held approximately 15cm from the underarm and I was impressed with the amount of spray that was released, as it was sufficient as opposed to a product that my husband uses, which whooshes out with great speed. Whilst some fragrances can be extremely overwhelming, particularly those designed for men, I did not have a coughing fit after I had sprayed. The aroma matched the packaging and was beautifully feminine with its delicate floral clean and fresh tones, which reminded me of an Impulse body spray that I used many years ago.
I experienced no stinging after dispensing, which I presume to be due to the fact that the product is alcohol free, but I found that it took what seemed like ages to dry whereas Mitchum dries in less than a minute. As I often wear black tops I was afraid to dress too quickly for fear of the product delivering white marks, so it was a good fifteen minutes before I felt confident to do so. However, the deodorant still had not sufficiently dried with my underarms offering slight dampness, but I had no option than to get dressed, but can report that no white powdery residue transferred to my clothes. Fortunately, I do not suffer with excessive perspiration, but I still favour using highly effective deodorants, which must also offer anti-persipirant properties.
I must admit that I was a little apprehensive about heading out to work that day, as I was afraid that the product would let me down and as a result, I popped a can of Mitchum into my handbag just in case I needed to use it. My working days generally consist of me rushing about where I am in and out of the car whilst visiting a number of different offices. However, I did not experience any perspiration or odour although I did find that the delicate scent disappeared within minutes of application, which was a little disappointing.
I felt confident that the product offered a high level of protection although I cannot admit to my underarm skin feeling any smoother than normal due to the deodorant containing precious pearl extract. I used the entire contents of my small canister, which lasted me a couple of weeks, but the texture and surface of my underarm skin was identical to those occasions when I had used Mitchum. Whilst I am normally more than happy to try out products, I was not prepared to find out whether Pearl and Beauty achieved its claim of 48 hours of protection, particularly as I take a shower every morning and a bath in the evenings. However, I cannot for one minute imagine that it could protect for this period of time, but there again, I may well be wrong.
Whilst I was satisfied with the level of protection the product provided me together with the initial scent, I didn't find the lengthy drying time acceptable and as a result, I will not be making a further purchase and have since reverted back to using my trusted Mitchum. If you are interested in purchasing this product, I would advise that it retails at around £2.29 for a 92ml canister although during my search for a price I discovered that Pearl and Beauty is limited edition, which seems a little odd.
Due to the reasons discussed above, I feel a four star rating to be appropriate.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
I'm quite fussy as far as deodorant is concerned. I know which ones are my favourites, which ones to avoid and which ones are just 'okay'. A deodorant that I use quite often is Nivea Pearl & Beauty.
The deodorant comes in a 150ml aerosol can. The can is white and the lid is a pearly purple colour, which I think makes the deodorant look quite attractive and womanly.
The smell of a deodorant is very important to me. A lot of deodorants smell chemically and wrong. Nivea Pearl & Beauty has quite a nice scent, not my most favourite scent I admit, but it's certainly not bad. It has a kind of florally smell to it. It's a scent that I'm happy enough to smell (and happy enough for anybody else to smell) throughout the day whilst I'm going about my business, but as I already mentioned it's not actually my most favourite scented deodorant...
Nivea Pearl & Beauty contains no alcohol, colourants and is dermatologically tested. It is said to contain 'precious pearl extracts' (hydrolyzed pearl is listed in the ingredients) which are said to give you 'soft, beautiful underarms'. It's really kind to my skin. I have never had irritation whilst using the deodorant, even after shaving. My underarms always seem soft and smooth whilst using it.
The deodorant states that it has '48h confidence, anti-perspirant protection' which I think it a little bit of an exaggeration - I don't think there will ever be a deodorant that protects for 2 days! However the deodorant is very effective and I am happy to wear it all day long, usually without the need to re-apply (depending on my level of activity of course. I would want to re-apply if I were doing lots of exercise etc). In my experience many anti-perspirants don't tackle perspiration like they promise to and some anti-perspirants even make perspiration worse! I feel confident using Nivea Pearl & Beauty and know that I won't get clammy or wet underarms, which can cause wet patches on clothes and destroy confidence. I applied today's deodorant about 3 hours ago, I just touched my underarms (nice!) and they're bone dry.
The directions state that you should hold the can 15cm from the underarms, spray and allow to dry before dressing. I have experienced white marks from this deodorant on a few occasions unfortunately. It's not so bad if you're wearing light colours but if you're wearing something dark and getting ready for a big night out, you could be in for a bad surprise! Make sure you shake the can vigorously and don't spray it too close.
Nivea is owned by a brand called Beiersdorf. On the Nivea website is states that no Nivea/Beiersdorf products are tested on animals and they use alternative methods of testing. I wouldn't want to use any deodorant that was tested on animals. Unfortunately this is not stated on the can, which I find a bit silly.
Nivea Pearl & Beauty deodorant can be found in most supermarkets and pharmacies etc. It generally costs around £2.00, which I think is a reasonable price. You can quite often find it on offer too. I'm happy to recommend.
Usually with deoderants i don't take the 'stay fresh for 48 hours' thing as a given. We all move around, we all do daily chores etc. No antiperspirant will keep us that fresh unless we sit down and do nothing for 48 hours and then give ourselves a whiff.
But this deoderant, will last a long time. I'm on crutches at the moment and you can only imagine the effort i have to make to get anywhere each day, the sweat and everything! not pleasant! and using this deoderant makes me feel more confident that i'm not stinking the whole place out, it lasts a good while and i see no problem in spraying a coupld of times throughout the day.
This deoderant has a lovely talcum powder mixed with perfume smell. It's gorgeous. I've used this deoderant for so many years that i can smell the scent and it can bring back fond memories, how many other deoderants can do that!? a nice nostalgiv smell. But it's not sickly smelling like other deoderants, it's a nice smell that even when you walk by someone that is wearing it, you instantly want to know what they are wearing. lovely.
I am not particularly fussy when it comes to purchasing deodorant but I do tend to stick to the same brands that I have heard of or had a good experience with. I will often look for brands that I feel have a good reputation on offer and then will pick something up then. The latest anti-persperant deodorant I am using is Nivea pearl and beauty spray.
The deodorant comes in a pearly white coloured tin which features the blue Nivea logo but lots of pink as well which immediately makes the packaging look more attractive to me as I just love pink things! The product name is featured on the front of the tin as well as a quite prominent circular shape which features 48h in the middle of it to let us know this product is meant to give protection for up to forty eight hours. We are also informed on the packaging that this product contains pearl extracts for beautiful underarms and that is contains 0% alcohol as well.
I currently have a 150ml bottle of this product and I like the size of it because it fits nicely in my bag when I need to take it out with me but it also fits nicely in my hand when I come to use it. The bottle has a shaped section just above the middle which is a perfect place to hold it as you spray it on your underarms and it just makes the whole process seem a little more comfortable in my opinion.
To use the product you need to remove the pearlescent plastic cap and from a distance of around 15cm spray the deodorant on to your underarms. I find initially that the smell of the spray is a little too much and it can make me cough if I don't get out of the way quick enough! Once the spray has settled down though the scent of the deodorant is quite sweet and floral and rather pleasant.
I find when I am wearing this deodorant on a day to day basis that it does a good job of keeping me fresh but if I am going to the gym or working up a sweat doing my cleaning around the house that I do need to apply this more often to keep any sweatiness at bay. I would never want to attempt to go forty eight hours without using a deodorant but it is my opinion that this one wouldn't keep you fresh for that long anyway because despite being decent on a day to day level I don't feel fresh enough to skip using this product the next day.
My underarms do feel quite nice after I have used this product and they do feel like they are more moisturised so perhaps the pearl extracts really does make a difference in this product. I like the fact that this product is free from alcohol and colourants and is dermatologically tested as it just feels as though I am being kinder to my skin in using this one.
For the most part I like this product. It smells nice enough, helps keep me protected from bad odours on a day to day basis and can be purchased quite cheaply if on offer but I have one massive issue with this product sadly. I always shake the can before use out of habit yet sometimes with this one despite the shaking of the can I will spray it on my underarms and a mass of white powder will attack my underarm, floor and surrounding areas! Obviously this isn't a good thing and it is something I would expect to happen from a cheap unknown brand but not one such as Nivea and to be honest despite the postives of this product this fact makes me think I won't purchase Nivea again. I am really on the fence with this one and so it makes it hard to recommend it. I would personally give it three stars!
You can purchase this product for around two pounds but less if you should find it on offer as I did.
Thank you for reading my review!
For Women / A perfect deodorant for beautiful, smooth underarms that provides 24-hour protection against underarm wetness and odour /
