I bought this when on offer in Tescos for £1.00. I've seen prices vary for this and I know it can go up to £2.00 in some places as this is a branded product. A 50ml bottle with fairly minimal packaging I have been using the same bottle (every day!) for almost 6 weeks now and still have around 1/4 of the bottle left so for me it ticks the value for money box on or not on offer!
The packaging reflects the aim of the product - no white marks/invisibility! The deodorant comes in a clear bottle with a clear/white coloured screw top lid. The nivea logo is recognisable and the packaging is fuss-free and minimal. There are stickers on the back and front of the product - the one of the back has a reverse able tab that tells you the ingredients of the product. The product states on the front 'no alcohol, no colourants'.
As the product is in clear bottles you can see exactly the amount you have purchased and as you are using it can see the level of anti-antiperspirant go down. This is really helpful as you can judge then when you need to buy your next deodorant. The only grumble I have with the packaging is that sometimes product can get stuck around the lid of the roll on creating a build up of gunk which isn't too pleasant.
Application is easy. Just tip the bottle upside down and roll onto underarm. The roll on ball is still working really well even though the product I am using is coming to the end of it's life.
As it says - this is an anti-antiperspirant deodorant so it's aim is to increase confidence as you go around your daily business. I use this every morning so can't comment on the claim that it gives 48 hours freshness. I suppose this would depend on individual's level of activity, weather and other such factors. I do however support the claim that it doesnt leave any white marks and generally the product does seem to last al day - although I do reapply if I've been working out or doing any strenuous activities.
All in al I would buy this product again - just maybe wait until it comes on offer again!
I have just finished using this deodorant so thought I would share my experiences with you all. I bought the deodorant when it was on offer for around £1. I cant remember where I got it from but it was likely to be one of the big supermarkets or superdrug. The usual retail value is around the £2 mark but the Nivea range of deodorants can almost always be found on offer so it is worth waiting to try this if you can.
The packaging has changed ever so slightly since the picture above was added. The bottle is still clear glass with a screw on lid covering the ball used to apply the deodorant.
Using the deodorant is simple. You simply use the roll-on ball to apply the product to your underarms. I believe this is a product predominantly focused towards women but the design and scent is quite unisex. The scent is just a clean and fresh smell, there are no floral or fruity undertones. It does have a slight scent of soap so it does give you a nice clean scent.
I find that a good amount of the product is dispensed and it dries within 20 seconds or so so you are not left standing around for ages! The staying power of the deodorant is ok. On a normal day I am confident that I am left smelling fresh and clean but if I find I am rushing about I find that the deodorant doesnt perform as well as it could. It works ok for a while but then I feel like I could be feeling fresher! Therefore, I have often needed to apply the deodorant again throughout the day.
This deodorant is ok. I dont think I would buy it again simply because I know others in the range work better such as the pearl edition. But for the the price paid it is an ok deodorant.
Having been using Lynx spray deodrants for quite a while now, I decided it was time to make a change and that is when i spotted this little beauty. At £2.03, Nivea Pure is well priced within the market (not one of the cheapest but also not one of the more expensive deodrants) so you won't feel as if you are wasting money. Apart from the price, the thing that initially attracted me to Nivea Pure is the fact that it is a roll on, which I feel personally is far more effective than sprays (which often don't target a specific area, rather blanket the entire underarm), something that I can certainly testify to after having used the product. Similarly, as it comes in bottle form, Nivea Pure is airtight, meaning there are no accidental spillages (something that used to occur a lot with my spray on deodrants). In the same manner, Nivea Pure seems to dry very quickly (although as Nivea is the only roll on I have used thus far, I can't comment too fully on this point) and hasn't done any damage (underarm skin can often be very sensitive).
Having said all of the above, however, Nivea Pure Invisible 48hr Gentle Care 50ml Roll On Deodrant does have a couple of disadvantages. As the deodrant is made of glass, there is always the fear that it may crack (although highly unlikely, due to the fact that it is made of toughened glass, it is always a fear nonetheless with glass). Likewise, at 50ml, in my opinion Nivea Pure doesn't necessarily offer fantastic value for money (4p a ml compared to dove 50ml deodrant which at £1 is 2p per ml), as after 2 months (using it once a day) I have very nearly finished the bottle, whereas my lynx cans would last me upwards of 3 months (although as the Lynx cans have a greater volume this may be perhaps an unfair comparison and Nivea do offer larger sizes).
To summarise, although this product has certain flaws (size, value for money and being made of glass) I would highly recommend it based on my own experiences (it has proved to be very effective, even after sport, providing a good range of protection and is easy to stow in a bag). Having been a user of sprays for some years, I will now be switching to the roll on, using Nivea Pure in particular.
Nivea are a well-known skin care brand, and I came across this Nivea Pure deodorant when I was looking for an anti-perspirant roll-on. I bought it on special offer for just £1.00, and the normal RRP is £1.99 for a 50ml bottle. You can find this product in most supermarkets and high street beeauty retailers.
I usually prefer spray on deodorants as they are more convenient and speedy for getting ready, but this time I was looking for a roll-on deodorant in a small bottle that I would be easily able to pack for taking away on trips. I also wanted something that would offer protection against wetness and not cause white marks on my clothes. I am very demanding of my deodorants!
Nivea say: "Nivea Pure Roll-on deodorant provides effective 24-hour protection with a feminine, floral fragrance that leaves no visible residue on skin or clothes. Nivea Pure contains no alcohol, no colours, no preservatives and is dermatologically approved."
The deodorant comes in a small glass bottle with a slight curve that makes it easy to grip firmly within your hand. There is a plastic screw top lid that protects the roller ball underneath. The deodorant is very easy to use, simply tilt the bottle up and then hold it in position to reach your underarm, then roll over the surface of your skin. It is cooling to the skin during application and has a fresh, barely noticeable smell that does not linger or overpower any other scents or perfumes you may want to wear.
The only thing that annoys me about this deodorant is that it takes such a long time to dry after application. I will usually have to wait up to 5 minutes before it is fully and dry and I can put my clothes on. It can be a bit of a nuisance particularly when I am in a rush getting ready in the mornings. However, I wear black clothes often so I prefer something that does not leave marks on dark coloured fabrics. This deodorant has proved to be completely invisible and I have never had any problems with marks showing on my clothes even when I am wearing tight tops or black garments. There are also no visible remnants on the skin, although the area can feel a bit taut at times after it has dried.
As for protection from sweating during the day, it seems to do a fairly good job. This works very well as a typical everyday anti-perspirant and keeps me feeling dry practically all day long. I don't agree with the 24 hour claim, but I assume it probably gets removed when I wash in the evening. With the cold snap we have been experiencing recently I have taken to wrapping up warm in lots of layers of clothing. I notice that when I am inside with central heating on, or going into wamrly heated shops etc my deodorant quits working and I do start sweating when there are temperature changes. I work out several times a week and this did not provide enough protection to stop me from sweating when I needed it. I don't mind sweating somewhat when I'm exercising as it's a natural healthy response, so I wasn't too worried about it, and am happy with how the deodorant performs normally.
I was very impressed with how easy it was to use this deodorant, the liquid flowed easily from the roller ball and spread over my skin without any rubbing or irritation. I used a reasonable amount per application but this small bottle lasted me for several months and proved to be extremely good value for money. I usually go through spray on deodorants a lot quicker and think this is a more economical alternative, as well as being a bit more environmentally friendly.
All in all I think this is a good deodorant product, but a shame that it does not stop me from sweating in warmer temperatures. It works effectively to prevent against white marks and I am happy with this, however it is a pain to have to wait so long before being able to dress. A good everyday roll-on deodorant from Nivea that I would be happy to use again.
I am always trying out different brands of deodorant and I spotted this one on for half price in Tesco and thought I'd try it out as I already had a Nivea roll-on and loved it. So after browsing the others a while I decided on this one.
The packaging is a clear glass bottle which is pretty much round with a sort of cut out at the back so it's easy to grip. The lid is a cloudy white/clear plastic dome shaped screw top. The front of the bottle has the Nivea logo at the top. Underneath that it says pure invisible, 24h gentle care, no white marks, 0% alcohol, anti-perspirant deodorant. There's also a little picture of a black t-shirt that says 'no white marks' next to it. On the back of the bottle is a peel away label with '50ml' written and the barcode. Underneath the peel away label is where you'll find the ingredients and directions and some facts about this product.
Such as; - Leaves no white marks on your skin or clothes
- 24h confidence, anti-perspirant protection
- Alcohol free, no colourants, dermatologically approved
I first tried this product shortly after getting out of the bath, and the smell from the bottle was really fresh and clean so I was thinking it was going to smell great, and at first it did. After about half an hour off applying this deodorant I felt sticky under my arms and it smelt really odd. Almost a sweaty sort of smell, but not quite. Whatever the smell was, it's not attractive.
Anyway I only use this product these days if it's absolutely desperate and I have no other deodorants left.
I wouldn't recommend this deodorant to anybody, especially not people who have a problem with sweating. Or even people who like to smell nice for more than 25 minutes.
I prefer roll on deodorants nowadays and have come to the conclusion that I prefer the clear liquid type after recently trying some creamy ones. I usually use Amplex, and pay less than one pound for this in Savers, but haven't been able to get this lately, thus the reason for trying different deodorants.
During a recent food shop to Sainsbury's I saw that Nivea roll-ons were reduced to £1.07 and, although, I usually pay less than this, I didn't think it was too bad a price to pay for something from a decent manufacturer.
I chose the Nivea pure invisible anti-perspirant deodorant. This comes in a 50 ml clear glass container. I prefer a clear bottle so that I can tell easily when the supply is running low but I would prefer plastic if taking this on holiday because of the weight of my suitcase. I won't be taking this on my travels though.
According to the label this provides twenty four hour gentle care. It also promises, 'no white marks' and contains 0% alcohol.
I've been using this product now for about two weeks and I would say it's okay but not as good as expected and certainly not up to the standards of my preferred brand, Amplex, in keeping me dry.
When applied it dries fairly quickly but again, I don't think as quickly as Amplex.
The smell is pleasant, though a little stronger than I like. I don't like a strong smelling deodorant as, if I wish to wear perfume I don't wish different aromas to have to do battle with each other. The smell reminds me of Nivea hand cream.
I have found this adequate as a deodorant and an anti- perspirant, just about, but have the feeling if it was worked hard because its user was being particularly active, then this wouldn't be up to the difficult task. I think it is okay as an everyday deodorant but would be unlikely to do a brilliant job either at a gym or running etc. I admit to not doing these things but I wouldn't bother taking this on holiday anywhere hot where a good deodoranat is needed.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: 10& w/w Activated Aluminum, Chlorohydrate
It lasts for 12 months from first opening.
Nivia Pure roll on deodorant isn't something I normally choose. But when you're faced with an almost empty roll on at home, and shops that don't seem to have you're preferred brand in stock, you have to pick something - so I did.
I suppose one of the main reasons I picked this, is that it seemed the closest thing to the brand I normally buy which is Mum unperfumed roll on deodorant. I prefer a roll on to a spray because it's more environmentally friendly, and to be honest, I find they tend to work better too. Regarding this in comparison to my normal brand, well, they both come in a clear glass bottle rather than a plastic one, and being see through you know exactly how much you have left. I have to admit I miss read things here, as I thought the product was unperfumed like my regular roll on, and that was the other reason I bought it.
My first shock was the price. When I buy my mum roll on, it's around £1.50-£1.80 depending on where I get it, this one however cost me a ridiculous £2.42 which I think is a tad extreme.
Once it was at home it sat there for a couple of days while I finished up my old bottle of mum. When I did finally come to use it however, I have to say I really wasn't impressed. The wording on the bottle made it seem like it would be good, in fact I was hoping it would be comparable to what I normally used, unfortunately this wasn't the case. Despite it being called 'pure' this stuff isn't pure at all. It's a clear liquid no colour, but it's not pure. When I first used it, I smelt a slightly sickly perfumed smell emanating from it which I have to say I don't like. It's very flowery, and as I avoid using perfumed products (except where they are naturally perfumed with essential oils) as much as possible, I was rather disappointed. It also contains a lot of chemicals when I really stopped to look at the ingredients, which I really should have done in store before I bought it. It does however say that it contains no alcohol (so it won't sting), no colour and no preservatives so I suppose that's something to be grateful for.
Application works in the same way as my normal roll on, the mouth of the bottle is fitted with a plastic ball that allows the deodorant to seep out round the edges so that as you roll the ball across your underarm, it gets covered in the deodorant and transfers it onto your skin. The no alcohol thing does mean it's fine to apply straight after shaving which is good - it's the worst feeling in the world to apply something with alcohol to armpits that have just been shaved believe me!
My next disappointment was how slowly this stuff dries. I'm used to having a wash, drying myself, applying my deodorant, brushing my hair and then dressing, the time spent drying my hair is normally plenty for my usual roll on to have dried, but with this stuff you virtually have to stand there with your arms up to let the stuff dry. I've had to move my morning ablutions around a bit so that I now have teeth brushing after applying this stuff as well as hair brushing to allow for extra drying time!
As a deodorant it works fine, I don't get smelly, and the effects last through the day with no problem for the most part. I have to say it doesn't hold up quite as well under extreme situations (like when gardening on a really hot day), but then my regular one normally doesn't either, so I guess that's not too big a deal.
Overall, I don't think I'll be buying this again, in fact I'll go so far as to say that well before this is finished I shall be seeking out a bottle of my normal mum in town so that I know I've got some there ready to use. It's only the bit of me that's really anti waste that has stopped me throwing this stuff out. I chose it, I should use it sort of thing.
As I have said lots of times before when it comes to deodorant it usually has to be Dove for me. Not only does it work well but it is also ideal for using straight after shaving with no painful stinging.
I do however try others from time to time just for a change and to see if anyone has managed to make a deodorant to equal Dove!
I always use the roll on version which I find convenient and easy to use. I tend to find that the aerosol ones catch the back of my throat and make me cough when I spray them. There is another problem with anything that I have to spray into the air and that is that Mew does not like it at all - he runs away as though his tail is on fire!
Anyway I was shopping in Boots the other day and I noticed that the Nivea roll on deodorant was on offer at two for £3 so I decided to try a couple. The individual price is currently £2.35 each. One of the ones that I chose was Nivea Pure Deodorant Roll On.
The container is made from glass which of course is recycleable, which is another good point as far as I am concerned. The label on the front has the recognisable dark blue Nivea logo and is very plain and classy which of course fits in with the 'Pure' description of the deodorant.
The information on the label tells me that this deodorant provides effective 24 hour protection with a feminine, floral fragrance that leaves no visible residue on skin or clothes. It contains no alcohol, no colours, no preservatives and it is dermatologically tested.
Although the containers of most of the roll on deodorants have changed recently so that they stand with the lid at the bottom to make getting the last bit of the deodorant out that much easier, Nivea have kept the traditional design.
The glass container stands in the bathroom cupboard with the plastic screw on lid at the top. This means that when the container is almost empty I will need to stand it upside down to make sure that I use all the deodorant before recycling the glass. This will prove a bit of a challenge as the top of the lid is rounded so I will have to stand it in between other things so that it doesn't fall over! I don't like to waste anything you see!
Having unscrewed the cap you find a fairly big ball, if you'll pardon the expression, which makes actually applying the deodorant to your underarms nice and easy. The deodorant always runs freely and there are never had any problem with it drying out.
This deodorant smells lovely and although I find fragrances very difficult to describe I will try. It is sweet and flowery without being too sickly; it is more of a fresh clean sort of fragrance if you see what I mean.
It dries very quickly which is a big advantage for any roll on deodorant as far as I am concerned. Many times in the past I have been seen walking round the bedroom flapping my arms up and down like some strange bird trying to get my deodorant to dry before I could get dressed but not so with this one.
This deodorant feels nice when I put it on too. It is smooth and easy to use and does not sting at all. The deodorising and antiperspirant effect lasts all day even in hot weather, and when I am out in the garden sawing and chopping wood for our log burner!
Being a roll on, it is in a small container making it ideal to take on holiday, and as it contains no propellant it can be taken on an aeroplane with no fear of explosions.
The other advantage of using a roll on deodorant is that it is kind to the environment, as it does not contain any CFC gases.
In conclusion I am very impressed with this deodorant - it works well, it isn't expensive and it smells lovely!
So, it looks as though I might have found a rival for Dove.............
Nivea Pure Deodorant Roll-On is a product that I bought whilst at Heathrow Airport this year. I had forgotten to put the deodorant that I had purchased specifically to go in my hand luggage into the bag so I took a stroll into Boots to find one that would do the job. I settled on this one as I have always had good experiences when using Nivea products and this was no different.
Nivea Pure Deodorant Roll-On with its 24 hour anti-perspirant protection leaves no white marks on your skin which means no white marks on your clothes.
*About the Product*
Nivea Pure Roll-On Deodorant provides effective 24 hour protection with a feminine, floral fragrance that leaves no visible residue on skin or clothes. It contains no alcohol, no colours, no preservatives and it is dermatologically tested.
To apply this deodorant you first need to remove the screw on/off lid. Then just roll it under your armpit as many times as you feel is necessary to give you all day coverage. It is that simple. The first time that you use it may need as few additional rolls as it may not come out quite so quickly. As it is a roll-on deodorant, you won't suffer from a stinging sensation like with some sprays which is always a big plus.
*Price and Availability*
Nivea Pure Deodorant Roll-on is widely accessible from shops like Superdrug, Wilkinsons or Boots to the bigger supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda. Unfortunately though, it is not one of the more popular deodorants and they don't have many on the shelves in any of these stores therefore looking online may be your best option for example www.boots.com.
You can buy this deodorant for just £2.35. This is a fair price for what I believe is a great product which keeps you clean and fresh all day long as well as a deodorant that lasts a long time.
The packaging: This deodorant is a roll-on small glass bottle. The colour of this is clear although you can see a translucent white colour through the glass which is the colour of the deodorant itself. The lid screws on and off to the top of the deodorant bottle easily and firmly which is essential otherwise the deodorant will dry out. The overall design and style of the deodorant is as stylish and sleek as you get with deodorants and I for one like it a lot.
Smell: This deodorant is perfect for those who don't like an overpowering scent as this has a slight fragrance but it is subtle therefore perfect to wear if you also like to wear a perfume. And the slight smell lasts pretty much all day, maybe lacking a little towards the end of the day but it certainly fulfils the purpose.
Does this deodorant provide you with 24 hour anti-perspirant protection? Yes, the staying power of this deodorant is fantastic. When applied in the morning, this deodorant keeps you dry and fresh all day long and this is something that not many roll-on deodorants achieve. I have found that the anti-perspirant side of the product is excellent as I have never finished the day with sweat patches under my arms.
Longevity of the product: The longevity of this deodorant is fantastic. I have found that one bottle lasts me approximately 2 months which is absolutely brilliant. Usually a deodorant lasts me about 3 weeks but this lasts over twice that length of time.
Does it leave no white marks on your skin and therefore clothes? This statement is in fact correct. Every time that I used this deodorant I was satisfied that there were no white patches or stains on my clothes. The only downside to this is that it did take a quite a lot longer than most deodorants to dry. Usually about 5-10 minutes.
*Would I Recommend This Product?*
I was very impressed with the quality of this roll-on deodorant and would certainly recommend it to anyone that is contemplating purchasing it. The deodorant was very effective in keeping you fresh and dry all day long with just one use and it fulfilled all claims. What more can you ask for than that?
If you prefer to use spray deodorants, there is the same Nivea Pure brand in this method. Therefore you won't miss out either way although I can't tell you whether this is as good as the roll-on or not.
All in all, I think Nivea Pure Deodorant Roll-On is a great little product that sits perfectly in your handbag due to its small size. In this case good things do come in small packages. And as for the smell and effectiveness, it does the job brilliantly. It is possibly one of the best deodorants that I have had the pleasure of using.
This product has the usual misnomer, ie calling itself a deodorant rather than being very clear that it is an antiperspirant with c.10% aluminimum chlorohydrate as an active ingredient. Nivea are not the only manufacturers to fiddle their words however.
Nivea roll-ons are creamy with gentle almost innocuous smells. Their unique selling point is gentle on the skin and so with the armpit it will be especially connected to women who shave. The product rolls on very creamily which is a more pleasant sensation on the skin than dryer antiperspirants or sprays. The products also sits 'thickly' on your skin so will take a minute to dry before putting on clothing- this could be an inconvenience for some.
I use this product when I need to be sure there will be no sweat marks in the office, so I only use it in summer. The quantity of aluminimum in the product is of serious consideration for women re breast cancer scares. I would recommend this creamy smooth easy to use product with its subtle smell for the days when you really do not want to sweat but skip it during the colder non-sweaty seasons or your private down time when sweat marks on clothing are not an issue.
This is the deodorant that I used to use before I made the switch to the spray version of this. I am not too keen on the roll-on version, but I had to resort to using this today when my usual spray ran out (and I had forgotten to stock up in advance!).
It has a light fragrance to it but nothing too overpowering so it would not clash with body sprays or perfume. It kept me dry throughout the day so it seems as good as the spray in that respect.
Unlike the spray, it takes forever to dry. I put this on this morning and went to clean my tooth and wash my face in the bathroom. Ten minutes later, it still wasn't dry. If you are in a rush in the morning, this doesn't seem like the best option!
This costs £2.30 from Boots. I do not use this regulary as I am borrowing my Mum's until I go to the shops to get another of my preferred spray deodorants, but she uses it every day and only replaces it every couple of months so this is pretty good value for money in my opinion.
While it does a good enough job of keeping me fresh and dry all day, I much prefer the spray version of this as it is much quicker to use - especially if you're cutting it fine on the time front like I am often am. One advantage that it does have for me over the spray is that the scent of it seems a lot lighter and less likely to be set off against any fragrance that you want to wear.
