I recently bought this anti-perspirant in my local b&m for only 99p as I used to use roll-ons but then when we recently had our couple of weeks of sunshine the roll on just wasn't effective enough for the hot weather so I went on the lookout for a new anti-perspirant. The can is 150ml and white with a lovely simple feminine pink design on the front. It says that it has 24 hour protection to help you stay fresh and dry. The shape of the can is fantastic, it curves in the centre like an hourglass shape so its easy to grip onto without it sliding out of your hands.
To use it is the same as any other ant-perspirant, you need to shake the can and spray from around 15cm away from your armpit. It does spray out quite a lot so a quick spray is more than enough, it comes out quite dry so you can put your t-shirt on straight away without having to worry about getting it wet. I was impressed with how it didn't leave any white marks unlike a lot of other brands do. It has a lovely soft floral scent that can still be smelt a few hours later but isn't so overpowering that it mixes with your perfume. It didn't sting when I sprayed it on even after shaving unlike many other products can.
During the heat wave I thought that after about 12 hours I needed another quick spray as I felt it was starting to wear off but in our usual British weather then I do think it can last around 24 hours. I have noticed that since using this spray my armpits are softer so I do think its very kind to skin and doesn't irritate me.
Overall I am very impressed with this product and especially at such a brilliant price. One can will last me around 1 month.
We have a small Asda at the end of the road where I work, I find it really great as it's only small they stock items for promotions and then have to sell off the excess for space. I really like the Soft & Gentle deodorant range and when I saw the large 250ml tins being sold off at 60p, needless to say I picked up the last 3 tins.
There are plenty of different fragrances and options such as anti-stress and anti white marks in the Soft & Gentle range and everyone that I have tried I have really liked. The range comes in a couple of different sizes and of course the prices compare to the sizes, there is a 250ml for £2.50 and a 150ml tin for around £1.75 although sometimes you do manage to pick up the smaller tins in the discount style stores for around £1.
The soft jasmine version of the deodorant comes in a mainly white tin with a push on pale pink lid and some lovely little pale pink and peach detailing on the tin, the tin is very simple and isn't going to jump out at you from the shelf but it fits in with the whole Soft & Gentle range. On the tin it states that it is kind to skin, lasts 24 hours and is an anti-perspirant deodorant which is pretty much all I want from a deodorant as long as it smells nice.
The deodorant sprays out quite powerfully and you only need a little burst under each arm, the spray actually seems to hit your skin dry so you can get dress straight away without any dampness underarm and there is no white marks from the product which I think is important. A tin of the deodorant really lasts well and I would say from a big tin I probably get around 6 weeks usage which is great value especially if you are lucky enough to pick it up at 60p.
The deodorants smells really light and floral, the flowery smell isn't too strong so it doesn't smell like a bouquet like some I have smelt before. Although the smell is light you do find that when you move around through the day you will get a little whiff of the product which I really like as it reassures me that it is still working and I don't smell nasty which is a really big concern as I'm sure anyone who has worked in care will realise.
I really like this deodorant it smells great and it really does last the 24 hours that the company promise, I can get up the morning after using the product and still faintly smell the product and not feel sweaty at all which is great and of course makes it better value again as you are not constantly reapplying it. 5 stars from me.
Before I get stuck into this review I do need to point out that I am reviewing Soft & Gentle Anti-Perspirant and it does contain the scent of Jasmine though my one also contains coco milk and isn't simply Jasmine. The reason I am writing about it here is because Dooyoo have told me in their infinite wisdom it is the same product though it clearly isn't but here I am anyway!
I always use use spray on deodorants as I don't appreciate roll ons and the likes as I find them to wet and stuff and for the past few years have only bought these. I like Palmolive products (the manufacturer of this product) and often (like this one) these sprays, in a variety of fragrances are often on offer in all good supermarkets and chemists for around a pound a can (if not on offer usually priced at about £2.00 a can and which I have never personally paid!).
I took a sniff of this in my local Asda store and decided to give it a whirl as it is something I purchase and use very regularly indeed!
The can is cylinder with a slight curve for ease of handling to the top of it and a matching light pink plastic lid to the top of it covering a white push button aerosol sprayer. On the front of the can there is a small picture of some flowers on it and we are told that it is Palmolive Soft & Gentle, 'Kind To Skin', 24hr Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant. On the back of the can other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are listed, the size is stated which is 150ml and contact details for the manufacturer are given. This is a nice, delicate and prettily designed can I think. I like the ease of handling this has due to the indentation it has and its informative enough too!
All you do to use this of course is to spray it at arms length directly to the armpit area. This has a wonderful and yet again feminine aroma of soft jasmine to it which is naturally sweet, light and the coco milk this has to it gives it a subtle almost creamy fragrance to it too which tames the scent down slightly. Its a really fresh and clean yet still pretty fragrance this one that isn't too heavy at all.
I find this to spray out easily, is damp and gives no white marks to my skin or onto my clothes or anything adverse like that at all. Although damp when sprayed on it feels slightly moisturising, none sticky and dries within seconds and thats it job done! I like the way this gently moisturises my underarm skin, is perfectly fine to be sprayed on to freshly hair removed armpits and makes my skin feel healthy and supple for hours on end.
The fragrance of this lingers on my skin and clothes for a good few hours but more importantly does it banish BO and does it really offer 24h protection? Yes in my opinion it does very much keep nasty whiffs at bay. I wouldn't say I'm a particularly sweaty and/or stinky person but this works brilliantly for me and in fact when I was ill the other week I used this and couldn't shower or bath for a good 40 hours and not once did I feel damp or smelly!
This to me is a really nice hard working but still feminine deodorant. I love the packaging, the scent and the fact that its effective without having to use too much at all. Great stuff and I'm really impressed with this one so thanks Palmolive.
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc.
This product has a very soft and feminine smell. It is a delicate scent that stays present for a few hours. It does make me feel feminine and confident. The non- offensive and delicate nature of the smell makes it suitable for women of all ages.
It works as an anti- perspirant and leaves me dry all day and smelling nice, even with running around after a small child! It does not leave any white marks whilst spraying on, even on black clothing I have never had a problem.
This product normally costs somewhere between 99p- £1.49 and I feel that it is good value for money it smells lovely and is a very effective antui- perspirant. I would recommend this to any women it is perfect for everyday use and due to the slight smell, it can be worn with perfume without it tainting the smell. The spray itself is very easy to use and sturdy, a good size for any gym bag!
I use the Soft and Gentle Deodorant sprays quite often. This is probably more due to the good price that they are often sold for in my local Asda. Quite often they are sold for £1 and in fact just now they are on this offer so I have bought a few tins of different scents. There isn't 1 that I like more than others in the range, they are all nice (but the Watermelon one that has not long come out is pretty nice actually.) so I tend to chop and change my scent all the time. The right price for this spray can be anywhere from £1.49-£1.79 when there is no offer on it.
This comes in a 150ml tin and looks much like the picture as usual. The colouring on here is a light pink and the branding is easy to spot on the tin as well.
Just shake this and spray, nothing different in this to any other Deodorants. The spray that comes out isn't all that wet and a dry spray. I know that most sprays are dry, but I find that some sprays are drier than others, and this is a really dry one. Even from using this for the first squirt out of a new tin i've never had any problems with white powder coming out of this but with other brands I have. You can pop your clothes on straight after spraying this since you don't have to wait on this drying.
The scent of this is nice. It is a pretty soft scent, and I would say it is quite a delicate scent as well. You can smell the Jasmine, but I know that Jasmine is quite a heavy Musky kind of scent, but this is that bit lighter and fresher but you still get the tang of the Jasmine. You can smell this through the day alright, and I find that if I do get a bit warner then this keeps the wet patches at bay and the scent lingers nicely as well.
A nice light smelling Deodorant which keeps me fresh and dry and usually at a good price.
Palmolive Soft and Gentle Antiperspirant Spray is available in 150ml cans, for around £1.85, although if you shop around, you're bound to find many offers including the Soft and Gentle range.
As an antiperspirant, I find the Soft and Gentle range highly effective, leaving me with the confidence of knowing I will be dry all day. Another great quality of these sprays is the minimal white marks they leave on clothing and the skin when used, which is a great bonus!
The spray leaves me feeling refreshed, as the soft jasmine scent isn't an overwhelming fragrance, but subtle and warming. The floral scent is fun and feminine, and easy on the senses. After application, the scent lingers on the skin and clothes during the day, allowing your to feel fresh throughout the day.
My only improvement for this product would be for the scent to last longer, I find it usually wearing off by the afternoon, but it's easy enough to top it up with a quick spray in the ladies.
Those of you who regularly read my reviews will know I'm on a quest to find the perfect deodorant. At the moment I'm finding it more then a little difficult so any suggestions are appreciated! The one I've just finished using as a part of this search is this Palmolive Soft And Gentle Soft Jasmine.
Palmolive make a number of claims in relation to this deodorant. They claim that it will help you to achieve a closer shave by keeping your skin soft and smooth, that it's alcohol free and so won't sting after shaving and that it offers 24 hour anti-perspirant protection. This sounds good so far!
The bottle is indented right the way around close to the top. This makes it very easy to hold and I've never had any problem with the aerosol slipping even if my hands are still slightly damp after washing.
The spray on this is very powerful and not very directed which means that when I spray it I have almost like a cloud of spray that fills almost half the room! I have used spray deodorants a lot before, none have given the cloud to the extreme that this does. Whilst this is annoying and would be a major problem for anyone with asthma or respiratory problems it isn't really an issue for me and at least if it's filling the room I know it's all over my armpit!
The smell, although nice in it's own way, I wouldn't have recognised as Jasmine. I'd say it's more a soft floral scent and definitely more feminine then masculine - although I can't see men buying this for their own use anyway! The scent does linger on my skin for several hours but I only know this as I tested it on the back of my wrist, I can't smell it in normal use for longer then a few minutes at very most.
As for the results I achieved in relation to their claims - I certainly can't say that I've noticed my skin being softer or smoother and therefore can't say that I've noticed any closer shave. However, before using this I used to use Dove deodorants who make a similar claim about smoothing skin so maybe it would be different if I was comparing it with a deodorant that didn't have this supposed benefit? I don't know. What I can say is that for me it didn't seem to make a difference.
When it comes to using deodorant after shaving despite the fact that I know it stings I never seem to learn to wait a little while, therefore a deodorant that can combat this problem for me by not stinging is a necessity for me. I'm happy to confirm that this does just that, despite often being used immediately after shaving it's never once stung.
As for the anti-perspirant claim I'm afraid to say this really lets it down. I'm not a naturally sweaty person but within 2-3 hours I can feel my armpits begin to get sweaty so not even close to the 24 hours they claim! Having said that when it comes to the end of the day I've never once felt that I've smelt (thankfully!) although I've never used this on a really hectic day due to the lack of anti-perspirant and so this may be different if you live an active lifestyle and in that case I wouldn't recommend it.
I bought this in a corner shop on offer for £1.50 but it is widely available for between £2 and £2.50. I'm going to give it just 3 out of 5 stars due to my concerns about its use for those of you with asthma or other respiratory disorders, my concerns about its effectiveness with active lifestyles and it's lack of anti-perspirant protection. I'm hesitant to recommend it as there are cheaper ones that work better so I'd recommend trying one of them instead.
