I am not particularly loyal to any deodorant brand. When I run out of one, I pick up any old one as long as I recognise the brand name. Radox is quite a well known, reliable brand so I trusted that their range of deodorants would probably be of a high quality. I purchased this Radox fresh aqua 24 hour spray from Home Bargains, and I think I paid around 99p for it. It is also available in Poundland if you are interested. The price is fantastic, and great for people who like me are trying to save money wherever possible.
The can comes as shown in the image. You get 150ml worth of deodorant which is a nice size as it is big enough to last you a few weeks, yet lightweight enough to carry around with you. It comes with a secure lid, and the spray is easy to operate as well as being secure so that it won't spray when carried in handbags.
I am not too fussy when it comes to deodorant scents. As long as I smell clean, I am happy. This scent is described as 'fresh aqua'. The scent is quite subtle but has a lovely clean scent to it. Definitely one that would please most. The scent stays on the skin quite long, and it is still noticeable after an hour or so.
And that concludes just about all the positives of this deodorant. Now, for the bad stuff. The sole purpose you want a good deodorant is to keep your underarms fresh, dry and to prevent sweat and smells. Nine times out of ten, deodorants deliver this for me and I feel secure and safe wearing them throughout the day without having to spray again. This deodorant however is just awful. I don't sweat that much anyway, but even I noticed that after a couple of hours it wasn't protecting the underarms. It certainly does not last throughout a whole working day, or for nights out. Don't get me wrong, it does work for a little while, and when I apply it, I feel that it will work. Unfortunately, the staying power is just awful even for someone who does not need as much protection.
In addition to this, it is a very powdery spray and sometimes leaves big white marks under the arms. This happens even when I shake the can thoroughly and spray from 30cm away. Not a good look when you are wearing black or in a rush in the morning as I end up having to pat it all off again. White marks drive me mad with deodorants!
Finally, one of the worst things about this deodorant is that it really irritates my underarms. Despite always changing up my deodorants, this is the first time I have experienced such an irritation. I wouldn't say my underarms are particularly sensitive at all, so I was very surprised by this. After I've applied this deodorant, I get a burning sensation and feel the need to itch. This then becomes very sore. Avoid if you have sensitive skin. Actually just avoid full stop!
Overall, please just avoid this deodorant. It doesn't work well, it causes irritations and leaves white marks. I will not be buying this ever again, and I hope this review saves others from making the mistake I made when buying this. Sorry Radox, stick to bubble bath. Thanks for reading.
