I usually find that after I've been using one deodorant for a few weeks I feel the need to change it. I don't really know why, I think it's because after you've being using the same fragrance for a while it doesn't seem as strong. I like to be able to smell my deodorant quite well to reassure me that I smell nice!!
After deciding I needed to try a different brand / scent of deodorant I found this Right Guard for women on offer in my local Asda for £1. It claims "ultra dry protection" . Looked good! I really hate to sweat at all so the ""ultra dry" claim was a winner for me!
It comes in a smallish thin bottle. The bottle is white with blue writing all over it and a blue cap. The usual Right Guard logo is there but the rest of the packaging definitely makes it look more feminine.
The smell is definitely a feminine kind of scent but not overly girly. It's not a light flowery smell but is still nice and fresh. It's strong enough to keep smelling it throughout the day without needing a top up but is also not over powering.
I'm sure most people who use this deodorant think it's fab, I loved it when I first wore it. However after only using it for two days my arm pits started to get really sore.
I have sensitive skin and most deodorants are trial and error for me.
Unfortunately, it made my skin crack and weep and just get generally very sore. I can't use this one any more at all. I've since read reviews online that have also said this deodorant did similar to them to.
WOULD I RECOMMEND?
Yes if you don't have sensitive skin. If you are not sure I would definitely avoid this product.
It's such a shame as I really did love this deodorant when first using it and as long as you don't have sensitive skin it's fab!!
2/5 stars for me personally. Unfortunately this one wasn't for me!
Thank you for reading, I hope it was useful

I like to try different products all the time. I am always looking for the latest thing that delivers what I need so was quite pleased when I saw this product advertised. No matter how hard I try I always seem to end up with deodorant marks on my top. Not the greatest look! I just don't seem to be able to avoid it so when I saw this I thought it would be great if it did what it said and was excited to give it a go.
I picked up a can from my local supermarket it was a 150ml can and it cost just over £1 which I thought was a great price. I had never tried this brand before so really had no idea what to expect. You can get the deodorant just about anywhere most supermarkets stock it as do chemists.
The deodorant is supposed to offer 25hours of protection from perspiration and provide you with prolonged freshness. Just what you need in a deodorant really and the added bonus that it doesn't leave horrible white marks all over your clothes! Perfect.
I have used this several times now infact I have finished the can! I have found that it is an excellent product and really does deliver what it says and I think I have put it to the test. I have worn it to work where it can be quite stressful which often leads to me getting hot and bothered. I run and also do gymnastics and it has kept me fresh during both of those as well.
The product itself is really easy to use you simply remove the lid and spray the product on your underarms. It seemed to go on really easily and quite evenly and covered all of the underarm.
The scent is nice and fresh too and it seemed to last most of the day. The best bit was that it really didn't mark my clothes at all. I wear black a lot and I have definitely noticed a big difference in this there are now no marks at all even if I put the deodorant on and then get dressed it still doesn't brush off and end up all over my clothes.
I would definitely recommend this product infact I have already told some of my friends about it. Great product and a great price.
Lets be honest, deodorant sprays for most people are not the most important body product in the world, yet nearly all of us use it. For me, like most, I would use generic ones, grab any off the shelf at the time of doing a food shop, and not really giving it a seocnd thought, until recently..
I am a busy mother, always constantly on the go and literally walking at around 60miles per hour. Over the last few months I have noticed that not only have I on a daily basis been feeling very hot and bothered because of this, but also feel to be blunt, quite sweety and not feeling or smelling the freshest. Not something that you want to experience, and really does not make you feel the best. The deodorant I was using just was not cutting it and decided to change. I had used afew others, and did not feel they made much of a difference. So this product one day, local supermarket surprise surprise, was on offer so I thought I would give it a go. It did not change my life, did not make me sprout wings or slow me down. Lets face it its a spray! What it did do was make me feel ( and more importabtly smell ) more fresher for longer. This in turn made me less anxious during the day and more comfortable. I would also spray myself less which in turn means product lasts abit longer.
I have used pretty much all of the different fragrances.None of them overpowering, very fresh and clean in scent and the majority very unisex. Also find its affordable, especially when its on offer which is quite often.
Only thing I would say is a negative is the statement of it being 24 hour protection, which I disagree. Not convinced its even possible as the body needs to do what it needs to do at some point. Elementating or helping with smells and freshness under the arm for such a long period is wishful thinking. I appreciate on the packaging it will probably say' up to 24hrs ' but still dont feel such a statement is fair. Still the best deodorant I have used to date though.
I am not particularly brand loyal when it comes to anti perspirant deodorants and tend to buy whatever is on offer on the time. My most recent purchase was Right Guards Total Defence Invisible anti perspirant deodorant which I bought for £1.00 in my local Tesco.
The deodorant comes in standard 150ml aluminium can with a spray top. The Right Guard logo and product name are displayed on the front of he can along with the "Total Defence 5" claims:
* Fights Perspiration
* Prevents odour
* Long Lasting Freshness
* Heat- response formula
* No white marks
The back of the can gives general advice and warnings along with a ingredients list. Simple usage instructions are also given "Shake well before use. Use in short bursts. Hold upright 15cm from underarm and spray". It is alcohol free and dermatological tested.
I have been using this product for around one month now and have been extremely happy with it. The spray nozzle is easy to use and dispenses the perfect amount of deodorant. I wouldn't really say it has any particular fragrance other than a general fresh clean scent. I tend to dislike over-powering deodorants as they often clash with perfumes and body lotions, so I am perfectly happy with the subtleness of this one. Each morning I spray a little under my arms and do not feel the need to re-apply again during the day. I have never experienced any wet patches under my arms whilst using this and find it is gives long lasting protection. Right Guard claim this deodorant is effective for up to 48 hours, personally I don't believe any deodorant can last this long, nor do I really want to put this claim to the test!
For me it is important that any deodorant I use does not leave any unsightly white marks, and I am happy to report that I have never experienced this problem whilst using this deodorant, it lives up to it name and is truly "Invisible".
Clearly I am more than happy with Right Guards Women's Invisible deodorant. It has lived up to all five of its Total Defence claims, keeping me dry and fresh all day long and with no white marks. I would certainly buy it again, especially if I saw it on offer and I have no problems recommending it.
Boots: (250ml) - £3.19
This deodorant is by far my favourite deodorant.
I have tried a number of other deodorants but always return to Right Guard.
It keeps me fresh and dry all day long, even in hot summer weather.
One of the reasons I love this deodorant is the smell. It has a lovely fresh fragrance that can be smelt all day leaving me feeling super clean.
This deodorant is a spray on, which is my preference, as I find that roll on deodorants take simply too long to dry. This deodorant dries really quickly meaning I can put my clothes on straight after applying.
This product does not leave tell-tale white marks on your clothes, which is important for me as I often wear black and other dark colours.
The aerosol can is strong and sturdy. I have often bought other deordorants where the button that you press down on breaks, leaving the product unusable. This has never happened to me with right guard.
One can of this can range between £1-3 depending on where you do your shopping. It is slightly more expensive than some other brands available but I think it is worth the extra pence.
I personally keep an eye out for when it is on offer and stock up.
I would definitely recommend this product and know I will continue to use it in the future!
Having a browse around boots I saw New Right Guard 3D Protection for £1.59 and decided to give it a try. I use anti perspirant all the time and just hate those white marks on my black tops and this promised to fight perspiration, prevent odour, prolong freshness with no white marks!!! Brilliant I thought.
It comes in a white can with blue detailing. A bit blokey for me but hey if it does the job who cares right? There's no mention of the scent on the can either so I gave it a sneaky spray in the shop. It has a sort of floral talcum powder scent to it, very fresh and clean smelling which I really like. On the can it says Invisible 24H High Performance Anti-Perspirant Deodorant. Just what I wanted.
I used it like I do any other anti-perspirant, after my bath each morning I gave the old armpits a good spray. That usually is all I need for the day and I'm dry all day. Not with this!!! A few hours later I had sweaty armpits!!! I applied again but I had the same problem after a few hours. The next day I felt gross. Really sweaty and sticky.
Since then it's been relegated to the back of the drawer. I only use it when I've run out of deodorant and there's nothing else to use. I would never purchase this again because it simply doesn't do what it says on the tin and other anti-persiprants work much better.
I've since tried other brands of invisible anti-perspirant deodorants and I can honestly say that I've found all "invisible" "no white marks" deodorants to be completely and utterly rubbish!!! They keep you dry for a much shorter time than other anti perspirant deodorants and I'm always left with that sweaty feeling halfway through the day. Not good.

I had seen Right Guard Invisible Anti-perspirant deodorant in the shops before but had never actually tried it. However a month or two ago I was due a new deodorant and spotted Right Guard in Morrisons on offer - a big 250ml can for just £1.50, so I decided to give it a go. This deodorant is available at most supermarkets, usually priced between £1.50 - £2.50.
The deodorant came in an aerosol can, with a transparent lid and blue writing on the front. It looked quite safe and friendly - nothing special but nice enough.
The deodorant is said to have the 'Total Defence 5' which 'combines the five essential benefits of an anti-perspirant into one: 1 - Fights perspiration, 2 - Prevents odour, 3 - Long-lasting freshness, 4 - Adapts to your level of activity, 5 - Low white marks'.
It also states that it's a 'high performance deodorant' with '0% alcohol' and lasts '48 hours'. Apparently the deodorant also now 'delivers 30% more protection power'.
The deodorant should be used on healthy skin, shaken before use and held in an upright position 15cm away from the underarms.
Here's my experience of using Right Guard Invisible Anti-perspirant deodorant...
I wasn't impressed with the smell. I like sweet fruity and floral smelling deodorants, although I'm not too fussy as long as it smells good but this deodorant didn't. It smelt quite manly and also quite chemically - like bathroom cleaner in my opinion. Not absolutely awful, but not nice.
**'Total Defence 5'**
1 - Fights perspiration.
I was so disappointed with this deodorant. Not only did it not 'fight' perspiration but it actually made me perspire more! A lot more infact - more than I would have if I didn't use deodorant at all.
2 - Prevents odour.
Because the deodorant had made my underarms so sweaty and clammy, the smell wasn't too pleasant. Thankfully nobody commented on it, but I certainly noticed it.
3 - Long-lasting freshness.
There was no freshness at all. It felt uncomfortable the whole time I used it.
4 - Adapts to your level of activity.
It didn't matter if I done lots of activity or absolutely nothing, the deodorant still had the same horrible sweaty effects.
5 - Low White marks.
This is the only thing I couldn't fault the deodorant on. I didn't experience any white marks on my skin or clothes whilst using it.
**48 Hour protection**
I had to laugh at the statement on the back of the can - 'keeps working for up to 48 hours for maximum confidence'. I didn't even get half an hour of protection and was so unconfident that I was scared to lift my arms up!
Right Guard Invisible Anti-perspirant deodorant is dermatologically tested. As far as I know Schwarzkopf & Henkel (the makers of Right Guard) don't test on animals. The good points of this deodorant are that it leaves no white marks, it's easy to use and I didn't pay full price for it. The downsides are that it's absolutely useless - I sweated so bad whilst using this deodorant, which is the total opposite reason that I bought it! I used it for about a week and a half before buying a different brand. I retrieved it from the bathroom cabinet a few weeks later and gave it another go (incase it was just my body causing the problem), unfortunately I experienced the exact same thing. Now it's in the bin for good!
I was expecting good things from this deodorant (due to all of the exaggerated claims) but will never buy it again.
I've only been using Right Guard Deodorant for about 3 weeks. I remember using it in the past, but then I got into Sure and Soft and Gentle. For some reason I used to think that this brand seemed to look a bit cheaper, and since I used to pick it up in Poundland then it sort of kept with the cheaper image in my head. Nothing wrong with a bargain. I also thought that a lot of the Women's tins looks a bit masculine as they used to have dark writing on them, but often the scent was certainly different to the image that was in my head.
Currently my local branch of Asda are selling quite a few different Right Guard products for £1 each, so I bought a few of them. I think the right price of this can be around £1.70, so the usual price of a branded Deodorant.
The tin for this is alright. I quite like the colourings on here. White with light blue. The Right Guard branding stands out a bit since it is so dark against the light colourings.
I find that this spray is quite a dry spray, but also when it comes out it is pretty wet, and takes a bit time to dry. Not long for it to dry, but even 20 seconds seems an age when you are used to popping your clothes straight on.
This smells nice. It is just a light, fresh airy scent which is slightly perfumed but just reminds me of fresh air on a cool morning. I find that the scent of this lingers a bit and I can still smell this slightly later on in the day. This also does a good job of keeping me fresh and dry as well, so I can't fault it for keeping the damp patches away.
A brand that I have ignored over the years, but I am now convinced that this is a good product and I will be buying this brand more in the future.
This deodorant has yet to let me down.
I originally purchased Right Guard because the supermarket didn't have my usual brand in, and I have never gone back since.
Right Guard Invisible is extremely effective, if I spray some on in the morning after my shower, then get dressed, I honestly find I don't need to re-apply until around 7/8pm at night, which is really useful when at work, in my job I do quite a bit of running around in the office, dealing with difficult customers and rushing out at lunch, okay perhaps not the most physically intensive job, but certainly stressful, and often more than enough to cause me to break a sweat.
I have also used Right Guard before going to the gym, and found it to be much, much more effective than any other deodorants I have used in the past, obviously the objective for most people of a deodorant is to stay dry and avoid getting sweaty for as long as possible, I feel that I get the best out of this deodorant in this department.
Another major benefit is, when I go out on a night out into town, I'll often wear black/dark coloured dresses and this is definitely the best in terms of not leaving white marks, I have never had white marks on the inside of my dresses/tops when going out, even when getting ready in a rush.
The design of the aerosol can is really strong, I find with a lot of deodorants that come in a aerosol can that often the top part (which you push down on to make the can spray) can come off quite easily and are quite difficult to get back on, this has never happened with any of my Right Guard cans, which is useful, as often I'll just slam it into my bag really quickly before heading out of the door.
Another thing I should add is that Right Guard isn't overly pricey for the quality you get in this deodorant, prices vary from between sort of 99p-£1.50, depending on where you shop.
There's nothing worse than buying a deodorant that doesn't deliver on its promises, and I do tend to stick to the same brand, however now and again I do like to try others on the market.
Right Guard Invisible antiperspirant deodorant was on offer in Semi Chem for £1.00 for a 150ml can, so in my basket it went. I've not tried this version of Right Guard, but I do often buy the men's version for my partner who has not complained, so it reasoned that it must be ok.
It claims to offer 24 hour protection, fight perspiration, prevent odour and prolong freshness, which is exactly what I, and most women out there, require as a minimum from a deodorant.
Did it deliver? In a word - yes! I found that after applying in the morning, I was still smelling fresh and feeling dry by the end of a rather strenuous day at work.
Its easy to use, simply remove the clear lid, and spray 15cm away from underarms. It is recommended that you spray in short bursts, I'm not sure why, as I don't, I tend to give each underarm a good blast, but that's just me. It has a nice powerful spray that disperses the product in a nice even cloud giving the underarm area good coverage.
It has a lovely light powder scent. Not at all overpowering, I could still smell my perfume over the fragrance of the deodorant. It is a lovely fresh, almost baby powder smell, which I really like. The scent lasted to the end of the day too, but much fainter, and no whiff of any nasty pongs.
It also contains no alcohol and is dermatologically tested so is kind to skin. I have very sensitive skin and some antiperspirants can cause me to itch, and make me quite uncomfortable, but this one is excellent in that respect.
A deodorant that is invisible is extremely important to me as I wear a black uniform for work and any white stains can be quite unsightly. Right Guard invisible provided great protection without any of the dreaded white marks.
Would I recommend this deodorant? For sure, I think this is a serious contender for my 'new' favourite antiperspirant, well worth £1.00.
Please follow directions and cautions on the can.
RIGHT GUARD WOMEN INVISIBLE
High performance anti-perspirant deodorant 0% alcohol
Made by Schwarzkopf UK Henkel.
It comes in a white aerosol can size 250ml with blue writing which says it is invisible & works for 24 hours, is NEW & leaves no white marks, & is a high performance anti-perspirant deodorant.
Special formula for full deodorant protection without white marks
Provides 24 hour protection against wetness and odour
Keeps you feeling fresh & confident all day long
Alcohol free, ph-balanced & dermatologically tested
Some shops sell cans marked 3D protection against white marks - not sure what that is, but the one I am reviewing here is not marked as that, although it is invisible, non white mark protection
The top where the spray element is housed is white plastic. It did have a clear lid, but I found that when I tried to pull it off after a few uses, it brought the whole spray thing with it, so after my son managed to put the mechanism back together again, I now have to leave the lid off all the time.
There is a note of helpline telephone number & website if you have questions or comments - presumably you can use this if you have complaints or problems.
Warnings are -
As with all pressurised containers - protect from sunlight, do not pierce or burn * keep away from sources of ignition.
Solvent abuse can kill instantly
Avoid inhalation, keep away from eyes & do not apply to irritated or damaged skin.
From that I deduce that you need to use in a well ventilated room or run out quickly when you feel you are inhaling the spray!
Do not use after shaving or if you have any damaged or sore skin, say from a bleeding spot or eczema.
To use you must shake well, hold can upright 6 inches from underarms and spray in short bursts. (if unit fails to operate, rinse button in warm water then use normally) I haven't actually tried that technique out.
I have used this most days but sometimes use a roll on or just talc if I'm not going out. I have found it to be effective when enough is used. One spritz under each arm doesn't seem to do the trick, but two does.
If it is a hot day & I have just showered & am getting ready to go out, I find whatever I use I feel wet again even while I'm getting ready & have to go & wash all over again & spray all over again.
The smell is light & pleasant, in fact not much smell at all, so doesn't clash with your perfume which is good.
There are no white marks on clothes as promised.
I was tempted to try this when I spotted it on buy one get one free. I can't remember where, but I think it appears on this offer in most places from time to time.
I have read a lot lately about how anti-perspirant causes breast cancer. Trials in women with breast cancer showed that the majority had lingering traces of anti-perspirant in the breast tissue & lymph nodes under the arms. This frightened me so at one point I scoured the shop shelves for deodorant with no alcohol or aluminium which are big culprits - not easy to find. Hence if I'm not going out I just use talc as I don't think prolonged use of anti-perspirant is good for us. Having said all of that, I can't do without a good anti-perspirant deodorant for most occasions & this seems to suit me.
Some makes have caused painful rashes on me in the past & I avoid them like the plague.

Note: This is my own review & is showing on another site.
I had never used this deodrant before but it was the only one available in Iceland and it was only £1 for 150ml so I gave it a go.
Its main advertising focus on the tin is its 3D protection,
Id not heard of this before, but it sounded good-whatever could it be?....
Fights perspiration, prevents odour, prolongs freshness. ....
ok so nothing out of the ordinary for a deodrant then!
The tin also reads "It keeps working 24 hours a day for maximum confidence" ... perhaps this is true, Ive never tried only using one application all day, personally I like a top up throughout the day but then I do have quite an active job.
The product is alcohol free and dermatologically tested which for me is reassuring as I do have sensitive skin and have to be careful when trying new products.
Directions as normal; shake well hold can upright 6 inches away from underarm and spray!
The best bit about the product is that its invisible and it really is. I only ever buy deodrants that dont leave white marks everywhere but some fail to fulfill their claims about being invisible but this one does!
Something that I found a little odd was that the tin does not say what scent it is, nor does it say that its frangrance free so its pure guesswork when I say that it smells almost aqua like, very subtle and fresh, its a nice smell anyway and in no way overpowering.
Im not brand loyal when it comes to deodrant so I wouldn't go as far as saying Im now converted to this product but I wouldn't rule out buying it again either- its definitely good value and it done the job well!
I bought this one time in Superdrug because they had a buy one get one free offer on. I am afraid I can't remember the price of each can but I 'd guess about £3. I'm quite fickle with deodorants as I never particularly notice one brand outperforming the other so just tend to go with whatever is on offer.
So I bought this Right Guard one. It's a tall white can with the standard pressurised sprayer and a see-through lid. The brand name Right Guard is written in white lettering on a blue background and the 'scent name' is written below. Normally deodorants have either a fruity, floral or fresh smell. This one has a fresh smell which is my favourite. It is very chemically though and sometimes when I spray it I have to move away because the chemical smell can overwhelm me and makes me start coughing. On the front it promises 24 hour protection. To use, shake first, then just spray under the arm for a few seconds from six inches away.
This deodorant is effective up to a point. It will keep you fresh if you're just going about your daily bits and bobs and I find it effective then. However, if you do anything more active, whether it be rushing around or exercising then it doesn't really help much. On the plus side this doesn't sting when applying. The major irritation I have with this though is that it leaks. Sometimes when I pull the clear cap off, it pulls off the whole of the spray system at the same time. I guess some of the product gets out because sometimes when I pick it up, it has obviously run all down the bottle. So I washed and dried the bottle and thought it problem solved but this morning I chucked it on my bed and it's left oil marks all over the duvet so I'm really annoyed. I know it's not a bad bottle as it's happened with both. Perhaps it's a bad batch I don't know but I now have a ruined duvet so I'm never getting this again whether it's effective or not.
I brought 2 cans of Right Guard Invisible Anti-Perspirant Deodorant for £2.48 from Boots on buy one get one free.
The aerosol has a plastic lid which can be recycled and the can advises that this product has a "Cotton Dry" fragrance, it also has 24hr protection and I did find that I applied this product in the morning before work and it lasted all day without any wet patches or smelliness!
Shake the product well before use otherwise you will get the dreaded white flakes!
The design of the can is not too feminine so this is the kind of product that a man won't mind on display in his macho bathroom!
It has 0% alcohol and is PH balanced. I have quite sensitive skin and I found that this product was perfect for me and didn't cause any rashes or itchiness at all.
The smell of the product is feminine but not too overpowering and it's just the right amount of smell to spray on myself in the bathroom in the morning without choking me completely and having me reach for the window!
The plastic lid of this aerosol can be recycled and I think the actual can could be recycled if you had the necessary facilities in your area.
My other half has occasionally pinched a little of this if he's stayed over at my house and not brought his toiletry bag or whatever, he's not fussed about using it instead of his usual over manly smell and I heard no complaints from him!
I would definitely agree with the claim that this product is "invisible" as I did not notice I was wearing it, the smell was not overpowering in the slightest and I did not have any white marks or sweat patches or any of the other unslightly nasties you get with some deodorants!
I thought I'd found the perfect deodorant at last - palmolive - but now I've found 'right guard women' - great!
I was shopping in qualitysave, just reaching for the palmolive (£1.29) when I saw this attractive-looking can for 99p.
I hesitated at first as I've made so many bad purchases with cheaper deodorants, but I know right guard make quality products so decided to try it.
the can is very smart - I thought a woman's deodorant would be pink (stereotyping again) but this is shades of blue and has an easy-to-remove-but-replace clear cap.
the fragrance is 'cotton dry' and really does smell of freshly laundered linen - lovely but not overpowering.
it claims to give 24 protection and yes it does! our ages range from 17 to 55 years & it works well for all of us.
0% alcohol & ph-balanced is probably the reason it doesn't sting or dry up the skin - it just does its job as an anti-perspirant.
the spray is perfect - doesn't clog & doesn't overspay so should last a few weeks even in our house!
the best thing for me is that it doesn't leave white marks which I hate and you also don't get white snowy talc all over the place.
the usual precautions (flammability etc) are clearly explained on the back as are directions & ingredients plus a helpline which is good.
this really is a good deodorant - I have seen it around for £2.38 so was particularly pleased to find such a good product for 99p so may well go back to qualitysave to stock up whilst it's still available.
just a thought though - I can't work out why it's marketed for women - it's certainly not a floral scent and it to me it seems a good strong enough deodorant for men?
whatever... in our opinion it's a highly recommended product which does exactly what it says on the can
24 hours invisible protection /
