I personally struggle with my perspiration, i seem to sweat no matter the weather, it can be in the negatives in the middle of winter and for some oddity my body still wishes to pour with sweat. I tried many deodorizers in my attempt to find something that was effective and smelled nice. After a long time of trying various deodorants i purchased some right guard from a local super market as it caught my eye when it was on an offer and tried it the next day. I found after only a couple of hours that this deodorant was outperforming the others i'd tried and could sense it was going to be in my future purchase list especially as the drawbacks were minimal. Another thing that i liked is this one the "Original" actually had quite a nice scent to it, I almost found that it was a aroma that you could go out with without even considering other body sprays such as aftershaves. The only negatives that i had with the right guard deodorant is that it was very bad with creating white marks, it was definately something that you would not want to spray while having a top on.
There are so many anti per spirants and deodorants on the market and so many to choose from and also some of them cost very little these days compared to when I was younger, when I thought they were quite a price and very little choice. These days it is so different with lots of choices and different fragrances. I have my favourites as we all do but this one is a product I buy on a regular basis because I have been buying it for many years and it suits me well.
I bought my last one from Tesco for around £2.30 for a 250ml can, it is very easy to spot this one on the shelves because of the name is very clear on the front of the can. The can has a spray nozzle and a plastic top to keep the nozzle clean. The spray is a nice mist when sprayed from the can. I like to use this after my showers or when I have had my bath. It sprays evenly under my arms and it keeps me nice and fresh all day.
It dries on my skin very quickly and I find that it does not mark my shirts or clothing as some other products I have used have left a white mark on my shirts after the deodorant has dried but this one does not make any marks at all, just how I like it. It also leaves me feeling nice and dry all day without having to top up during the day, especially during the summer months when the weather is much hotter and this one does not mask any odours at all, which is another reason why I love this one so much.
It is extremely very good value for money and also superb quality. I just think this one is such a good one for the low price, I really like the smell of this one as it is very masculine, it has a really manly fragrance that suits how I like a deodorant to smell, it is a nice one that lasts for quite some time after use. It is not too over powering, it is just the right amount and the size of the can is a good size to place into an over night bag if needed to take away for a stay in a hotel or a holiday and I have often taken this away with me and it has taken very little room in my wash bag.
This brand is a very well known one and has been around for many years, I have bought it for as long as I can remember and have always been very happy with the results as it keeps me feeling nice and fresh and only a little is needed to keep that fresh dry feeling all day, I think there is nothing worse than having wet armpits, I think it is so embarrassing and I have very rarely ever been in that situation but I have seen a lot of people over the years who I have seen with wet under their arms. This products works well for me and I will buy it as I have done for many years to come and I highly recommend it for anyone to buy it because it is a reliable one that works and smells nice too.
I rate this one 5 stars.
Right Guard is a well known brand of anti-perspirant deodorant which is meant to give you complete protected around the clock during a 24 hour period. I have experimented with many deodorants in the past and this is due to the gym I visit frequently.
I was looking for a product which was not to expensive but also had plenty to offer. The volume inside the can you are buying is 250ml and the spray itself is very quick to come out and only very little is needed to keep you protected. I have found if you spray the product on top of clothes this white residue sometimes shows up which leaves a terrible mark and makes you look untidy.
The smell lasts for a few minutes and then seems to disappear but if you're active throughout the day you do not smell any body odour as you might do with some sprays. There is no burning sensation when the item is applied and the product is very easy to use. One nagging situation is when you take the lid off to use the item sometimes the top of the spray needs to be reconnected again but this is a small dilemma to experience.
The product lasts, leaves a good smell and provides you with plenty of protection. The item retails around the £1.50 bracket which is not too bad and without this overpowering smell you get sometimes it makes a perfect item.
The worst thing about going out to run is getting that odd smell of yourself and thinking "Wow, I really smell". Well, I'm sure it's happened and it really isn't very nice at all.
Well you can get rid of these odors properly and efficiently, and add a pleasant fragrance at the same time, making those smelly moments a thing of the past.
And believe it or not, it's not just you it's affecting, its everyone around you, and I'm sure people don't want to be around a sweaty smelly person running towards them, it just wont give off the right impression :-)
Right Guard gives off time released freshness to prevent odors all through the day, or use it before running to prevent perspiration before it even begins. Right Guard contains no alcohol, so no stinging on those nasty cuts.
Use right guard for time released freshness through out the day when you need it most :D
There is nothing worse than being out and about and you get a whiff of someone who stinks as they walk past, for that reason, I always make sure I wear deodorant. My favourite one to use would be Right Guard anti-perspirant.
Dooyoo have this listed in Original, but there are also many other scents including Fresh, Sport & Active, in my opinoin they all smell pretty much the same, and they all come in the same can, the only difference is a small colour change. The majority of the can is black in colour, it has the Right Guard logo at the top of the can, further down it gives a bit of information and sales pitch, the can says it will:
Time released Freshness
The can also states it contains 0% alcohol. The rear of the can has directions for use, a small section of information about the product incuding the ingredients and other information saying it is extremely flammable.
To use, it's simple, after your shower, just give the can a shake and spray a small amount under your arms. If you fail to shake the can, you can be left with a white residue which can show up on clothes, especially black T shirts!
The smells vary between each variety you pick up, you can't really pinpoint what each smell is, but they are all nice and fresh and lasts ages. If you put it on first thing in the morning, you can still smell it's fresh late into the evening.
The anti perspirant works a treat, it keeps me bone dry, even if I am in the gym doing a good work out, this stuff doesn't fail. I can put it on at 7 in the morning, do a days work, then the gym, and still smell fresh. Infact, the hotter you get, the stronger the smell appears to be. I have worn this in pretty hot countries such as Egypt, 45degrees and still bone dry! I even find that it works even if you go in the water, on a beach holiday after spending time in the sea, the protection is still very good.
There have been many times when I have been sat on the underground sat next to a stinker, and it annoys me that something as simple as Right Guard could make the world a much fresher place, I sometimes feel like lifting their arms and spraying them with my own can!
Price wise, it is pretty reasonable, they cost around £2.50 a can in Boots, sometimes you can pick them up BOGOF which makes them a bargain. Each can lasts me around two weeks, using it every morning.
To summarise, I cannot fault this product, it does exactly what it says it does. I would never try another brand. 5 Stars
For years I used deodorants such as Lynx and Adidas. But in the end I could not handle inhaling the strong vapour when you initially use the canister. I knew I had to change product when I had started to hold my breath and move to another area of the room after I had sprayed.
As a result I tried numerous different deodorants and anti-perspirants. I came across Right Guard Extreme when it was on promotion at the local supermarket. It's a lot less overwhelming than other similar products but also works a treat. Only if you use it in excessive amounts are you going to get those nasty white anti-perspirant marks on your dark clothes.
I'm an extremely active person and play sports on an almost daily basis. I'm sure people are aware that after you have a shower following a good work out that your body is still sweating slightly. Do not worry Right Guard will leave you smelling fresh as a daisy.
You can get it for a price that won't burn a hole in your pocket. It's exceptional value for the quality of the product.
There arent a lot of things i look for in a deoderant - in fact, im pretty easy to please. It just needs to keep me sweat free and smelling nice. With this deoderant i can honestly say that i think that sweat would smell nicer.
It has an awful 'old man' smell that tends to linger all the live long day! I hated smelling it - so im guessing that everyone around me did too. Not only that, but it left white marks all over my red t-shirt and it was hardly effective at keeping me perspiration free.
The packaging looks old fashioned too, which meant i was highly embarrassed dragging it out of my bag in the gym and using it. Then when i sprayed it the whole locker room smelled like an old folks home.
This is definately a deoderant for the over 80s.... and even then it would wreck their clothes. If your under that age... give it a miss.
This is easily the best anti-perspirent that I have used and I strongly recommend you use it as well.
Firstly, forgeting everything else about the product it is easily one of the cheapest on the market simple because the price is largly the same as other anti-perspirents but you get far more right guard for your money. It comes in a 250ml can which is twice the volume of most other anti-perspirent cans and so not only is a more economical buy but also lasts longer. If used everyday it will probably last about 2-3 weeks which is pretty good as sprays go.
The range of products the have is simple but effective for accomodating you needs - unlike lynx who have a multitude of arious fragerences; right guard has 4 types. One has no scent and the rest are tailored to suit a specific type of use - for example sports or fresh which is slightly scented.
As for the job its meant to do it scores an easy 10 out of 10 as it effectively stops you sweating. The spray is easy to use and I've never had a problem with irratation or anything of that nature.
To sum up it does the job it says it does prefectly - and quite simply is the overall best anti-perspirent out there, in my opinion.
I like to rotate which deodorant / anti-perspirant I use, between various brands including Sure, Adidas and at the moment Right Guard.
~~~ Can ~~~
The spray comes in a tall 250ml can, which isn't all that eye-catching when amongst other brands, but when it's own looks okay - a bit sporty I think.
You use a large "button" at the top to use the spray. I've had no problems with the use of this and it is pressed easily, allowing you to get different pressure or quick bursts, whatever you need.
~~~ Deodorant ~~~
I find it difficult to describe the smell of this. I can't think of anything it smells similar to. Maybe you could say it smells slightly like flowers, but covered in some kind of powder if you can imagine that. Saying that it doesn't smell flowery or feminine. The best way to describe the smell would be to say it smells like Right Guard, it is an easily distinguishable scent.
The smell is okay and I'm happy to wear it, but the main advantage is how long the smell lasts. Even when putting it on first thing in the morning, the smell remains almost as strong right through to the last thing at night.
~~~ Anti-perspirant ~~~
Again, Right Guard is of the up most quality. The spray is quite powdery (I usually forget to shake can), which can cause white marks on clothes, but this does a great job of preventing sweat, one of if not the best I've used. The effectiveness, just like the deodorant, remains throughout the day.
~~~ Overall ~~~
Currently my favourite anti-perspirant deodorant. Long lasting in both anti-perspirant and deodorant categories with a decent smell as well. Although the scent could be a little better, so 9/10.
An incredibly well known and trustworthy brand, Right Guard Original Anti-perspirant offers 24 hour protection and a very pleasant fragrance that sticks around the whole day long, not just masking odours but seemingly eliminating them completely.
The smell, lovely as it may be, and is a little bit expected and not particularly strong. Its one the most popular Anti-perspirants in the western world and as such, is a little bit 'safe' so to speak. Also, you can't combat the weakness of the spray by simply putting more on, as doing this will serve only to do some severe lasting damage to your skin, and upset your sweat glands. Another criticism is that the deodorant initially comes out at a ridiculously powerful rate with lots and lots of pressure, this can be a cold, unpleasant feeling in a morning, and if you get this stuff in your eyes, its like a blinding punch to the face. Once the can is about half-empty however, all you get is a pathetic little spurt of deodorant, which prompts a vigorous and tiresome shake from the consumer.
The packaging is appealing enough, a sporty black and electric blue tall pressurised metal cylinder, and the plastic cap helps keep the deodorant fresh, as does the simple to operate, if a little bit simplistic spraying mechanism.
Nonetheless, you definitely get good value for money, since at £2.45 RRP from boots, you do fit an awful lot of deodorant in the cannister itself.
Right Guard Original Anti-Perspirant provides effective protection for up to 24 hours ensuring your day is a comfortable one.
Right Guard comes in various scents, but all in the same can and each maintaining their 24 hour protection status. The original deodorant isn't as widely available as the others but it was the first that I tried. The original doesn't have a distinctive smell but can be compared to the smell of "sensitive" deodorants, having an overall plain, fresh smell. As there's no dominant scent you get more of a smell of the chemicals than anything else, which is why are prefer the scent of "Fresh" and "Sport" over this version.
Right Guard comes in a tall can which means the deodorant will last longer, the spray itself is also very powerful meaning you can quickly apply it in the morning and have protection for the rest of the day.
If you are a sporty person then this is definitely the deodorant for you, it is high-performanced and will keep working for the entire day no matter how much exercise you do. Another great feature of Right Guard is that it's formula seems to release the protection over the whole period so you may not be able to smell it straight away but as the day goes on it releases the scent to keep you fresh and well protected.
Overall Right Guard is my personal choice for deodorant, whether you are very active or just want the added protection Right Guard will definitely suit you and at around £2.50 a can you get great value for money as it will last much longer than other brands.
I have recently put on a substancial amount of weight and have found that I sweat alot more which is turning out to be a bit of a pain. I have been shopping around for an anti persperant that keeps my underarms dry and not smell and this one seems to do it.
I bought this from asda for £1.49 which wasn't bad I have noticed recently that this has gone up in price but I still pay the extra because it works. This is original so there is not much of a smell to it so it doesn't mix a nasty smell if I am wearing aftershave which is good. It keeps me dry and I have also noticed that I am not suffering sweat patches under my arms if I use it twice a day.
You do not have to use a generous spray under the arm so a can of this will last me 2 weeks which I think is great. It comes in a recycable can so my local recycleing takes them when I have emptied it. It says that it is protecive for 24 hours, for the average sized man this would be true but I have to use it twice so anyone who is of the bigger scale I would suggest a bit more useage.
There are other smells in this range that I have not tried yet due to how well this one works but I have been temped to give them a try, as testing them in the shop they all do smell very nice.
I am a very satisfied customer when it comes to this and buy it as a necessity in my monthly shop. The only problem with this spray is if it gets into the arm pits of your t-shirts it has a tendency to stain and make the underarms stiff, if this does happen my partner uses white vinigar to break it down and it doesn't ruin your tops but that is a sacrifise I will take to smell clean and avoid the embarrising sweat marks.
*As American as apple pie?*
Better known as a brand in the United States than here in the UK, Right Guard was the first mass produced anti-perspirant when introduced by Gillette in the 1960s. While no longer produced by Gillette, it's one of those products that seems to go from strength to strength and it's still available in a formula not so different from the original variety in the year 2009.
I picked up two cans of this in my local Boots store as part of a BOGOF offer and was pleased by the price, but also confident in the quality of the product thanks to some positive brand recognition.
*Cheap at twice the price*
This anti-perspirant is good value for money, but at a RRP price of £2.40 in Boots it certainly pays to shop around. A quick internet search showed that they also sell it in Superdrug, discounters such as Wilkinson's and online from retailers such as www.chemistdirect.co.uk. As stated, I got mine as part of a multi-buy deal, so ended up paying £1.20 a can. I'm currently very pleased with it and probably wouldn't baulk at paying the full RRP in future.
Apparently this product 'provides three dimensions of protection'. The mathematicians among you will be shocked to see that among 'fights perspiration', 'prevents odour' and 'time released freshness', there's only really two distinct promises, as two and three would appear to be much the same thing. Time released freshness exists, ergo odour is prevented!
As this is a male grooming product this sort of silly branding doesn't come as too much of a surprise. In fact, I'm always suspicious of male toiletries unless they have a silly phrase such as '3D', 'Max' or 'Technology' on the packaging somewhere.
*Mhhhh - locker room fresh*
I used this after showering this morning and my armpits are still smelling great (vain as that sounds). The scent is very hard to place and there's a variety of aromatic ingredients listed among those stated on the back of the can. It's 'manly', pleasing and smells very clean. It hasn't caused any irritation, which is always a good sign (I have quite sensitive skin) and it's alcohol free.
In addition to this, it's a very effective anti-perspirant. I live in a flat with four flights of stairs in it and was left with almost entirely dry underarms after finishing off the hoovering this afternoon.
Great for the price.
*Packaging and branding*
The product comes in a fully recyclable aluminium can (well, bar the spray dispenser). It's an attractive and modern design with metallic reds, blues and silver swishes. All the wording is clear and logically set out and you're not left feeling too overwhelmed by promises after reading.
