I can't say I'm particularly loyal to any brand of deodorant, although there are a few I avoid once I've tried them and found them to be ineffective. Generally my choice of deodorant depends upon what's on offer and then I have favourite brands I switch between but to be honest I've never found a deodorant which is as effective as I'd like so for this reason I tend to vary the brands I use.

The Sanex deodorant recently caught my eye as I fancied a change and it was reasonable value costing me £1 for 150ml. The packaging is quite simple but feminine, with a white metal can and pink lid with pink writing. The packaging appealed to me because of the claims it made. Written on the front were the words "dermo invisible" which appealed to me because it gave the impression the deodorant wouldn't leave white marks like some of them can. It claims to protect, moisturise and balance your skin, and is alcohol-free which must be good for your skin because sometimes the underarm area can get a bit irritated.

I didn't think there was much difference between the spray functions on deodorants, but I must admit I like this one more than previous ones I've used. The deodorant comes out at a good rate and doesn't sting like some can. The spray is easy to press on the top and the can is a good size to handle. It does advise that you hold the tin 15cm away from your underarm area, but I'm not sure anyone actually gets a ruler out to do this so I apply common sense and have never had any problems. Sometimes you feel like you have to hold the can closer to your underarm to make sure it's hitting the right place, but this one seemed to reach well from a distance. I've never noticed any white marks on my skin, and it doesn't turn to horrible white powder like others I've used. I've also sprayed this whilst wearing clothes (e.g. a vest) and it hasn't left any white marks.

The deodorant claims to be effective for up to 24 hours, but I always like to spray a couple of times throughout the day to help me feel fresh so I couldn't comment on whether this is true. I think this is a big ask of any deodorant and if you think of what you put your body through in an average day I don't think I'd ever expect any deodorant to keep me fresh for 24 hours. The deodorant smells lovely, it's not too floral but it's fresh and the smell reminds me of when your washing is drying. The first time I used this, I actually received a compliment on how nice I smelled, and that was after a 30 minute walk to work so it must work to some degree! The size I bought is also very handy for slipping into your handbag to carry round in case you need to freshen up.

My experience of this deodorant has been very positive. I would definitely buy it again if it was on offer, but I rarely pay full price for anything and I'm not convinced I'd pay full price for it. I think it's good to rotate things like deodorant to prevent your body getting used to them and making them ineffective, but this is definitely one which will make it onto my "maybe" list.
