“ Brand: Superdrug / Spray / Type: Body Spray / Suitable for: Body „
I was doing some shopping on a boiling hot day recently and saw this So Superstar body spray on offer for only 79p, reduced from £1.50. I wanted to freshen up on the go so bought this without ever having tried it before or trying the tester on the shelf. I frequently use body sprays as I find that they are the most convenient way of creating a pleasant perfume on my body and clothes. They are also a cheap solution to freshening up when you feel a bit hot and sweaty on summer days. I don't stick to any particular brand but I do favour the Charlie range. I have always thought of the 'So' range as being aimed at teens rather than adults, but for the price I thought I'd take the chance on this.
The product comes in a metal pressurised canister which is 75ml or 48g (2.5 fluid ounces) in size. The can is slim and lightweight so perfect for carrying in a handbag or luggage. The design of the can is quite dramatic and sensual. The can is black and covered in what look like the pink glare of spotlights. It looks like a scene from the X-Factor! The top is gold which makes this look quite sophisticated and indulgent. The can has a large hard plastic button at the top. It's easy to depress this to eject the spray. The spray comes out in a very fine jet stream of mist. You can hold the can about ten inches away to apply it evenly.
This product is a body fragrance only and therefore it offers no protection from perspiration as an anti-perspirant would. I always use these types of products on my whole body from the neck down as well as on my clothes. You can apply this to your clothing without it causing any stains. The mist feels cool and calm on the skin. It feels quite refreshing on a hot day to spray this on my chest and feet and the back of my neck!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this fragrance but the name of the product is usually a good indication of the kind of power and notes involved. So I imagined, with a name like 'Superstar' that this might be a rather bold perfume. It's actually not as 'in-your'face' as I expected and the brand seems to have taken inspiration from the riches and elegance of fame rather than from the egos, breath taking talents and/or brashness that perpetuate celebrity and fame in the first place.
The perfume smells like sparkling lemonade, champagne and daisies with a cool amber undertone which gives it a more 'grown up' feel. It's not too sweet nor does it weigh heavily towards any notes that might be tend towards a more personal taste. I therefore would suggest this is a fragrance that could appeal to all ages of women and all personalities too. It is a little too weak and quick to dissipate though. That which lingers is quite understated but very elegant and ladylike. It's a nice fragrance but not distinctive or particularly memorable.
I would definitely buy this again although this hasn't been a body fragrance that has really stood out for me among all of the similar products I've used lately. It is effective though and it does have a charming if understated scent which is suitable enough for me and what I require from the product. I would recommend this to friends as I think women of any age could appreciate this.
After I have had a shower and used a deodorant I then spray "So....Superstar" all over my body and when I do this my two dogs run for their lives as I am quite generous in the amount I spray! I have to be honest and admit I only buy the "So...." range when it is on offer, such as buy one get one free, but I have noticed that generally this range of body fragrances is cheaper than they used to be. Also my family buy this for me, they buy me so many toiletries I have begun to wonder if I smell.........
The bottle (it's more like a tin tube) contains 75ml e, and is very attractive, being black with gold on top. I like most of the So.... sprays, this one is floral but not soft, it has a strong pleasant smell that lasts a while, but I admit I am very heavy handed and respray quite frequently, so could end up being expensive as the 75ml bottle does not last long. The So.... Superstar is one of my favourites of the So.... range, there is a fragrance to suit most people.
These are available to buy in most supermarkets and chemists, these are very popular gifts to give someone for Christmas if you want to buy something nice but not expensive.
If you want to look further at the range of body sprays that they sell, there is a web page to look at:
In the past I have tried Soo? Kiss me which seems to be the most popular soo..? product and I've been impressed with that! It is very girly and feminine so when I saw this Soo..? Superstar on offer in superdrug when purchasing some hair dye I just had to pick it up. It stood out instantly on the shelf, too.
Body sprays are something that I can't live without especially when I'm at work as body sprays act as a cheap perfume to keep you smelling fresh throughout the day. They are also good for when you have just finished work/university etc and are meeting up with friends or whatever a quick squirt of this will help you to feel more confident and fresh to go and meet them rather than carrying around a glass bottle full of perfume!
My soo..? superstar body spray came in a black pressurised canister with pink and silver cosmic patterns littered all over it. The pattern is supposed to resemble the paparazzi's photography flashes to add to the superstar/famous theme upon which this spray is centred. On the front is the name of the product and on the back is all of the safety instructions that must be followed and ingredients list. It also comes with a black lid to stop the spray from accidentally spraying whilst it is in your pocket or bag.
The smell is described as oranges, lily of the valley, passion fruit and pomegranate and is finished off with an almond base. With all of these delicious smells mixed up in the can the smell is so girly and unusual that I have often been asked if I'm wearing an expensive perfume rather than a cheap body spray! It is quite a fruity smell with the almond musky smell also being quite prominent which I think makes the smell so unusual as most feminine fragrances are fruity and floral but this has a masculine hint with the deep musk.
I usually spray this body spray all over my clothes to freshen them up but I when I'm running low on perfume I will apply it to my neck and wrists and it acts as a perfume, too. The body spray goes on completely transparently so you don't have to worry about white or any other unsightly marks!
I bought this on offer from Superdrug for just 99p! Such a great bargain I may stock up next time!
I got this Body Spray the other week. I had always seen the range of Sprays from the So range when I was buying my usual Impulse brand, but I never bothered about them. I know they were cheaper then the brand name, but they were £1 and the tin size was only 50ml so it seemed a little bit of false economy and perhaps not quite as cheap as it appears. However the other week my local Asda was selling the range at 50p per tin so that swayed me into trying them and I bought all 6 of them. I have since looked in Asda and can't see the range, so perhaps they were just selling them off.
The good thing about the size of the tin is that you can even pop this into your pocket if you aren't carrying a bag around since it is that small. The width of the tin appears the same as a 75ml tin. The tin looks alright and the same colouring as the Dooyoo picture. A black tin with gold bits over it. Looks nice enough and stands out amongst the more pastel coloured tins that you find in Body Spray ranges.
I hadn't smelt this before I bought it, but I thought with the pretty glitzy tin then I would really like this. I didn't end up liking it as much as what I thought though. It is quite a heavy scent and seems to be sort of Musky and perhaps Sandalwood and Jasmine. I was perhaps expecting a kind of rich scent, but not quite as heavy as this actually is. After I sprayed this and it settled about 5 minutes later on it was an alright scent, but I don't think I would buy this again as it's just not exactly the kind of scent I go for. I prefer lighter fresher scents.
Glad I tried it, but there is a lot nicer scents out there than this one. Not bad for 50p though I guess.
I make no secret of my long standing love affair with So...? products. I just love them and I have a massive collection of the fragrances and body sprays and anything in the range I can get my hands on. I love the fragrances themselves of course, I like the durability of the products and most of all I like the prices! The range is cheap and incredibly cheerful. I have all my designer stuff for my big nights out but more often than not I will be sporting something from the So...? range because it's the stuff I wear that gets the most compliments so it goes to show that sometimes stuff with a tiny price tag really is value for money!
When it comes to the body sprays I use them every day really and not always just with the matching fragrances. I prefer them to any other body-sprays smell wise that are available to buy. In the summer I will wear them alone and in the sunshine because normal perfumes can smell a bit odd in the heat and body-sprays (as a rule) tend not to and these smell fairly strong so replace perfume really well and with no adverse effects!
So...? Superstar comes in a black aluminium aerosol can with a a black push button plastic dispenser and a gold plastic pull on and off lid (exactly as on the review photograph for once so cheers Dooyoo lol). On the front there are some pink stars and in white and gold writing I'm told it's So...? Superstar and on the bottom of the can I'm told it's Body Fragrance (Parfum Pour Le Corps) and the size is stated which is 75ml (Net Wt 48g 2.5fl.oz). On the back all in small gold writing I'm told it's a 'Fragrance With Attitude', ingredients are listed, warnings are given, there's loads of stuff written in foreign languages and finally I'm told the can is flammable, that it's made of aluminium and is recyclable, contact details for So...? are given and finally there is a bar-code on display.
All in all the packaging does look really nice. It looks young but still smart and not one bit cheap so you can proudly display this one out for the whole world to see ladies! I don't know why but I pick this product up and I feel excited! I think it's just the rather nice feel of the shiny black, cold can really and knowing the scent inside is really scrummy and I'm about to transform myself into a sexy babe lol!
Well spray on a clean body! Wherever you want to remembering however that this is not a deodorant of course. I spray at arms length really liberally all over where I want to smell. If I want to smell of it all over I'll spray over my neck and wrists as well, if not I just spray over my body and add my chosen fragrance as well. It's up to me as it is you! lol What is nice is that even though this is highly fragrant in it's own right I still don't feel over fragranced using perfumes and deodorant's along side it or anything.
It sprays on really evenly. No residue and it is a fine and cool mist rather than a wet feeling spray so I dress immediately after using this and of course get no transfer onto my clothes as there is nothing to transfer! I can also spray lightly onto my clothes (from a distance) before walking out the door to smell really fresh and clean and dare I say seductive?.....
Yes this to me smells seductive. With it's mix of pomegranate, fresh oranges, passion fruit & Lily of the Valley and a base of delicious Almond Musk this is so exotic and with a sting in it's tail! I can smell all of the ingredients smoothly and scrummily combined. It's a grown up sweet musky smell with a floral fragrance gliding over the top and the smell of slight oranges giving it a slightly spice smell. It's really unusual and so very feminine.
It's called a fragrance with attitude and one to get you noticed and I wouldn't argue with that statement at all because it does. Even worn alone as a fragrance I've found this longer lasting that Eau De Parfums which costs up to 70 times more than this! A light spray of this baby will last all day long and when you take your clothes off you can smell it embedded onto them (though the fragance does wash out at 30c).
For me this is just adorable, grown up, long lasting and very different and it has a real good feel good factor about it. At about £1.33 (On sale at Superdrug and Boots at the moment and do look out for offers for 2 for £2.00 and other offers) I see this as a fragrance rather than a common and garden body-spray making this for me a real must have and economy buy. If I feel down or stressed or just damn well unfeminine and in the dumps a few squirts of this makes me feel tip top as the smell revives me and makes me want to party!
A totally recommended product from me to inject yourself with a bit of femininity and the boys seem to like this too (though I'm not sure they would wear it themselves lol). Lovely!
