I have always been a big fan of the Sure deodorant range, as it is has been the only brand that has continually worked for. Other brands work for a little while then seem to loose effect, So, when I see the Sure brand on offer in the supermarkets, I like to try different anti perspirants from the range. One such anti perspirant that I noticed recently in Tesco on offer at £2 which I hadn't previously tried was this Sure Clear Diamond.
The Sure Clear Diamond Anti Perspirant really stands out on the shelf due to its jet black coloured packaging. On the front of this aerosol it states that this product offers 'incredible white mark protection' and having this included is an added advantage as I wear quite a bit of black and I hate when I am in a rush in the morning, and then see the white marks appear on a top after spraying my deodorant. This is also meant to off 48 hour anti perspirant protection, and contains zero alcohol.
When you first use this anti perspirant, there isn't a strong scent off it, which doesn't really bother me either way, as long as it works. I would say that the scent is fresh however and certainly not a bad smell.
I have used this product countless times, applying it before I put on a dark top and never once during my entire use of this aerosol has there even been any sign of a white mark on a dark top, so its claim to offer 'incredible white mark protection' is definitely true and really does work.
However, although I have never had any problems with Sure anti perspirants before, for some reason, by mid afternoon, I didn't feel as fresh as when I had first applied it in the morning, and by the evening, when getting ready for bed, I certainly didn't smell as first as I did in the morning post shower, in fact, there was a little bit of an odour developing under my arm, which I wasn't impressed by, especially at this time of year, when we aren't exactly in a heat wave. Even in a heat wave, other Sure anti perspirants have worked effectively at keeping me dry and smelling fresh. THere is a definite difference with this Sure in comparison to other SUre products, as I actually have a couple of Sure anti perspirants on the go at one time, keeping one in the bathroom and one in my room, and on the days that I use the other Sure anti perspirant I don't have this problem, on the days I have used this Clear Diamond anti perspirant, I felt sweaty and sticky with a little odour at the end of the day.
I was really disappointed with this Sure anti perspirant. Yes, it does prevent white marks on dark clothing when applied, but I just don't feel that it works well in keeping me dry and fresh unlike all the other Sure deodorants I have tried, and so I won't be purchasing this particular one again.
I am not loyal to any particular brand of deodorant either roll on or spray and I tend to pick up whichever branded items are on offer. I first used the Sure Crystal clear last year and have used it a couple of times since. I picked this one up from my local Superdrug when it was down from £2.69 for 250ml to just £1 which is pretty good value, this is available from many retailers from chemists to supermarkets which I really like as it means that if a product does work I don't have to hunt it out or buy in a specific store.
The deodorant comes in a black can with a matte finish to it with a black cap that has the spray nozzle. The can has highlights in a lilac colour which is different and quite nice, I like the black can as it makes the point that you can use this deodorant and wear black with no marks (or that's how I choose to interpret the design anyway). Overall the can is nothing really special but as long as it does it's job I'm not overly fussed. This is dermologically tested as well as alcohol free which I like as it means before I used this I was fairly sure there would be no irritation or stinging from use.
To use the deodorant the first time you need to press down on the nozzle fairly firmly to release the nozzle but after this it is very easy to gently press down and release the product. The nozzle head is a nice shape to coat the underarm as well as giving a fair, wide coverage, a couple of seconds of spraying is enough to give you protection for me anyway which makes the product fairly well lasting. The spray does seem to come out white with a quite strong scent, it's very feminine and floral, almost like a perfume scent which some may find too strong, I do find that it dulls down quickly but initially it can interfere with any other scent you may want to wear. I like that the spray dries instantly as it does mean that I can pop on my darker coloured clothes without worrying about waiting for my deodorant to dry. I felt this was excellent, I noticed no marks on any of my tops that I have worn whilst using this which is excellent, I also never experienced any irritation or stinging, even directly after shaving which I was really pleased about as sometimes I don't have time to hang around after a shower waiting to apply deodorant so this was really handy for time saving.
As for how well the deodorant works, I went about my daily tasks, washing, cleaning, doing the nursery run and everyday things that people normally do. I wouldn't say it was a particularly strenuous or sweat inducing tasks so i can't really comment on how well it works in those situations but even on the hottest days while I was wandering around a safari park for the whole day the deodorant held up. I stayed fresh and dry for the duration. I wouldn't say this is the most long lasting deodorant out there, I find that by early evening I am starting to feel damp and less fresh than I would like and I have to re-apply however I can still detect the scent it's more of the feeling that I wasn't as fresh as I was when I had first applied this.
Overall i would say that this deodorant is pretty good for the money, it kept me fresh and dry although admittedly not as long as I would have presumed however I suffered no irritation or stinging, it dries instantly, it's long lasting, it leaves no marks on darker coloured clothing and it has a nice smell to it. I would say that it's pretty average in deodorant terms although it is a little more expensive than I would like to pay at full price but half price or less I am more than happy to pick this up.
I generally change the brand of anti-perspirant I use on a regular basis as I like the change in fragrance. I think that this brand smells lovely undoubtedly, however, this is where my good experience with this product ended. Firstly I felt that it left white powder under your arm -even when spraying from a distance. In addition to this I take part in high intensity sport on a regular basis after doing so my underarms felt sticky and unprotected - during a two hour class I felt paranoid about smelling as i felt it offered little protection. On a day-to-day basis for those who are not taking part in excercise as often i think the deodorant would be sufficient to protect you for the day - perhaps avoiding black tops. For consumers who are looking for protection during trips to the gym etc. I would not recommend this anti-perspirant in the future and will certainly not be purchasing it again.
I am not really brand loyal when it comes to anti-perspirants but Sure is one that I always tend to sawy towards if I spot it on a special offer. While shopping in Superdrug recently I spotted the Sure spray anti-perspirants on a half price special offer and decided to try the crystal clear diamond one as it stood out in its unusual black can.
As stated I purchased my 150ml spray can of the sure crystal clear diamond for just £1.00. Although this was on a half price special offer I have seen this same anti-perspirant priced at £2.69 elsewhere so I did feel like I got myself a good bargain.
The anti-perspirant comes in a curvy black spray aluminum can. There is no removable cap on the can but a grey button which you need to push down firmly on the first use to break the seal and activate the spray function. The bottle is very sleek looking with it being black but also has quite a feminine touch still with a lovely purple lace pattern on the front as well as the sure 'tick' logo in purple and purple and silver writing. On the front of the can it states that this anti-perspirant has white mark protection, 0% alcohol and is active for 48 hours. On the back of the can you can find more detailed information including directions for use, ingredients listings and cautions. It also states that the can is recyclable after use to allow you to do your bit for the planet.
This anti-perspirant is really easy to use, as the can is curved it is easy to grip with one hand and push the spray button at the top at the same time. It states that you should shake the can before use and spray from around 15 centimeters away. The spray itself comes out in a fine mist which goes onto my skin completely clear which is just fantastic. I have used some anti-perspirants before that have claimed not to leave white marks but actually have so to see the spray go on clear from the beginning made me feel very confident about this product. It also dries quickly allowing me to get dressed almost straight away and not having to hold black tops precariously trying to avoid them touching my under arms to stop white marks.
The crystal anti-perspirant is fragranced but it is a very light slightly floral one and is not overpowering allowing you to still wear a perfume without it clashing but still leaving your underarms smelling good. It states on the can that the anti-perspirant is active for 48 hours and has the slogan of 'sure won't let you down'. So far I have been very impressed, I tend to sweat quite heavily and occasionally use a specialist deodorant as well as a daily spray such as this one but this seems to work perfectly well for me on its own. I do shower daily so therefore replace my anti-perspirant after showering so I have not tested the full 48 hour claim but after 24 hours I am still left feeling fresh and dry and can still just smell the light fragrance. I have also had no adverse reaction from using the anti-perspirant and have found this skin under my arms to be left actually feeling quite soft and moisturised which is another added bonus for me.
I have been using this anti-perspirant for nearly two weeks now and have been extremely impressed it is a fantastic all round product that keeps me fresh, dry and with not a white mark in site. I will certainly be purchasing this Sure anti-perspirant again and would certainly highly recommend it.
I do normally go for anti-perspirant rather than deodorant although I've never been particularly brand loyal. I do, however, stick to well known and reputable brands (perhaps I'm just being a snob but I can't see supermarket value range deodorant and anti-perspirant being much good) and more and more these days I keep finding myself picking up a can of 'Sure' when I'm shopping. The ones I have tried from this brand have typically been good enough so I've felt safe sticking to them recently.
I've been buying this Sure Crystal Clear Diamond anti-perspirant for quite a while now mainly due to the fact I like the can it comes in. Mainly black with a purple 'Sure tick' and sort of flowery pattern along with the odd bit of silver writing, it's very pretty without being over the top girly, something I'm not a fan of.
This anti-perspirant, along with others in this range, is avilable just about everywhere. I've seen it in every supermarket I've ever been in along with the likes of Boots, Superdrugs, Wilkinsons etc. Basically, if a shop sells anti-perspirant and deodorant, they'll more than likely sell this. It comes in two sizes; 150ml and 250ml. Typically you'll pay £2 for the 150ml can and £3 for the 250ml can although there's always offers on these sprays in one shop or another and I often manage to pick up the smaller cans for £1 and the larger cans on a two for £4 deal.
As I've mentioned, the can this spray comes in follows an attractive black, purple and silver colour scheme and the can is littered with information about this product. We are told this offers 48 hour protection, has 'incredible white mark protection' and contains '0% alcohol'. We are told to shake the can well and hold 15cm away from armpit when spraying. The top of the can contains a silver button which is pressed to release the spray which, like most cans, is on a slight angle to make it easier to hold and press. This button comes 'locked' and you must pull it back to unlock it before spraying. It's apparently possible to push the button forward to lock it once again although I always find this to be far too stiff and can never manage to actually do this!
Despite containing no alcohol this still strings a fair bit if applying straight after shaving so avoid that like the plague! Aside from that spraying this is easy and pleasant enough. It doesn't leave any white marks whatsoever and you can actually spray this pretty close still without getting those white marks or flaky white powder type bits that some sprays produce. So, it doesn't matter what I'm wearing, I always feel confident enough to spray my armpits with this without ruining or staining my clothes. It doesn't cause me to choke to death either and produces minimal mist which disappears in a split second. It smells quite nice too. It does still have that typical anti-perspirant scent to it but there is quite a sweet floral type scent mixed in with it which is rather pleasant although not a massive selling point for me as after about five seconds this scent has completely vanished. Still, it's nice while it lasts.
The important bit is, of course, does it stop me from sweating? Well that depends. This makes for a great everyday spray if the weather isn't too hot or humid. I can spray this on my armpits in the morning and they remain dry and fresh for the rest of the day in these conditions which is obviously what I'm looking for so I can't complain about it there. It does make for a pretty useless spray to use before I go into the gym though. And, as I've found out these last few days, it's pretty rubbish when it's hot and humid outside too. On these occasions it behaves more like a deodorant than an anti-perspirant in that I still do clearly (and sometimes rather embarrassingly visibly) sweat but I don't stink of BO. Whilst I am glad this masks my bodily odours I really don't like wet armpits and sweat patches thus I find this to be a massive let down. Of course, I've never tried the 48 hour protection claim but I struggle to believe it, particularly if I'm quite active that day or it's just nice weather.
All in all I'd thoroughly recommend this for an every day anti-perspirant during typical British weather but during the summer, or if doing anything particularly physically demanding, I'd recommend looking elsewhere unless you can pull off the sweaty armpits look. It'll keep you smelling fresh but that's about it!
I am an avid user of Sure products as I find it is the only deodorant which really works for me, so seeing that they had brought out a Crystal range was well worth a try.
Appearance and Smell
This deodorant is in the tall tin of the Sure design and is very eye-catching in the dark black colouring with coloured pattern over it. It has a very clear and clean smell to the deodorant, which is crisper than some of their other smells of this range.
When I use deodorant I tend to spray on quite a lot in the morning, and this one was no different. It sprayed on well and dried quite quickly, leaving no white marks on my underarms or my clothes when I put them on shortly after. Throughout the day I felt quite fresh, but I did start to feel a little damp as the day wore on. I felt I had to reapply it once during the day, for the dampness quality, but was happy with the fragrance of the product and how well it lasted throughout the day. There was not a point in the day where I felt like it was letting me down by losing its smell.
Overall, I was quite happy with this product as it kept me smelling fresh and did not leave any marks on my clothing; however it did let me down on the dampness side of things. I have used other products in the Sure Crystal range since this one and must say that I actually prefer the clear aqua and clear pure scents, I feel they give me more protection and they have a slightly stronger floral fragrance to them, which is my preference. I think this is a decent deodorant for the price you can get them for, they tend to be part of an offer quite regularly so can get them at about 2 for £3, but even without an offer they tend to be around the £2.50/£3 mark depending on where you shop.
My mum saw this for half price in Tesco and bought her and myself some (hope she wasn't hinting!). It's quite expensive at £2 for 150ml and £3 for 250ml so a great offer.
The bottle I have is a different shape to the one shown in the above picture. Mine is curved inwards towards the top with a narrow tip, which in my opinion makes it easy to hold and spray. The nozzle is on the lid so you don't have to remove it to use. To unlock for the first time you push the press button down firmly, after that it sprays easily and evenly with a direct burst. It feels dry when put on and doesn't wet my underarms or clothes.
It hasn't clogged up and stopped working.
The tin is black with a purple 'tick' and purple flower pattern, it certainly stands out from the others which are usually white, so is eye catching and easy to find. The information on it is very thorough it tells us that it's 'Long lasting, has incredible white mark protection is 48hr active and has no Alcohol'. Also the back informs of the directions (hold 15cm away and spray!) and the ingredients etc. It is long lasting- it lasts the whole day on me without having to respray- there isn't any white marks on my clothes- can't comment on 48hr protection though as it hasn't!! and no Alcohol is always a good thing under there. It doesn't irritate my skin or make me itch either.
I love the smell of this, it's flowery but light and not over bearing, it doesn't interfere with my perfume.
This 250ml can that I'm using now seems to have lasted for ages. I got it 2 weeks ago and it still feels 1/2 full. I don't use much at all (on an average day) and only need one squirt in the morning as opposed to a top up throughout the day.
I'll definitely buy this again, maybe even at full price!. It really does work for me.
i have been using this product for around two weeks now, it does leave white marks unfortunatly because it genuinley is a good deoderant . i use it two times daily and it does smell nice but if the scent lasted and covered some body odours i would continue to use it. i think it is a good vaue for money but just not a great all round deoderant. other people may think differently but this is my honest and personal opinion.
Like many women I suspect, an anti-perspirant deodorant is an essential for me in order to prevent sweating and remain smelling fresh. I've tried numerous brands and deodorants over the years, and the Sure brand is one of my favourites, as it is generally effective. The brand states "Sure deodorants can be relied upon to give you long-lasting protection against sweat and odour, keeping you feeling fresh and confident all day and night".
This particular deodorant was one I purchased recently as it was on special offer. I got 2 150ml cans for £3 from Boots - normally it costs £1.99, or you can get a larger 250ml can for £2.95. I think this is a reasonable price in line with most deodorant brands.
I love the packaging for this deodorant. It comes in a curved black spray bottle with a purple lace design. It is attractive and sophisticated and I am happy to display it on my shelf - in contrast to most deodorant packaging which is dull at best and ugly at worst. This particular deodorant is named Crystal Clear Diamond 48hr Active Anti-Perspirant, and contains a special formulation designed to minimise white marks. This appealed to me - after all, who wants white marks all over their clothes?!
It is simple to spray the deodorant and it doesn't take long to dry. It has a vaguely floral pleasant scent, but it's nothing to write home about. One definite plus is that its claim of not creating white marks is accurate - I have experienced none at all while using this product, even though I wear a lot of black and dark clothes.
Unfortunately, I don't find that this deodorant provides a very good level of protection. I don't know if I sweat more than the average person, or if I just have more to cope with sitting on a hot crowded tube each morning and evening, but I found wearing this deodorant I would arrive at work with damp underarms and have to reapply. I often go to the gym straight after work, reapplying deodorant beforehand, and found that this product didn't actually prevent smells - this has never happened to me before and I stopped using it for the gym sharpish!
I was quite disappointed with this deodorant especially as it comes from the trusted Sure brand. Perhaps the same ingredient that prevents white marks is the same one that stops the product from working! It's fine if you only need minimal protection and are concerned about white marks, but it's just not strong enough for me I'm afraid!
I work in a very busy environment and my uniform consists of black shirts. Not the best colour when considering deodorants. We've all done that thing, where we put our deodorant on and then our nice crisp black shirt and smudged the powdery residue all down the side somewhere. This one however, doesn't do it. It is what it says it is, invisible, without compromising any of the Sure quality I've come to trust. I find the brand as a whole to be one that will buy again and again, and I usually don't even bother buying a different one to try as it more often than not, ends up in the bin. Ok, it might not be the cheapest one on the market, but buy cheap, buy twice.
So, all in all it is the only brand I will buy, and it's a bonus that it now comes in an "invisible" form.
***DEODORANT IN GENERAL***
Although there are plenty of deodorants to choose from and I'm often left standing looking at them for ages, I can never find choosing a good deodorant very easy. I have always used a roll on and I personally prefer these to a spray. I know a lot of people prefer spray as it's quicker and probably more convenient to use. The advantage of a spray is that you don't need to wait for it to dry before dressing. A lot of people don't like the wet feeling under their arms when using a roll on. A lot of deodorants tend to leave white marks and this is a nightmare when going out on the town to realise that your favourite dress or top you have just put on now has white marks on it. I haven't seen this deodorant advertise but it caught my eye because it was on offer in boots which is what prompted me to buy it. I normally use a sure deodorant but it's normally a roll on rather than a spray.
I purchased this from boots, but this is also available to buy from Superdrug and some other supermarkets. I was prompted to buy this because it was on offer in boots for 2 for £4.00 along with some other sure deodorants as well. This would normally cost £2.89 for a can of this deodorant (250ml). Prices may vary in different shops.
The deodorant comes in a black spray can with a lovely purple colour. It has the sure logo which is a stick and it also states on the front of the can that it gives long lasting protections for 48hrs. This is also aimed at active people as the protection is so good. The deodorant is called Clear diamond; this is because it has incredible white mark protection, so you don't get white marks on black or darker coloured tops. On the back of the can it has a list of ingredients, directions for use and it states that the product gives long lasting protection, is dermatologically tested and is alcohol free.
To use the deodorant first use you will need to push the button forward using your thumb. This is to unlock the product when you first use this. After you have unlocked it, you use the can in a normal spray way by pushing down the button. Before use shake the can well. Holding the can about 15cm away from the underarm, simply spray to release the deodorant and to start giving you protection. The deodorant comes out white and does have quite a strong perfume smell to it which some people may find quite strong. Admittedly I do tend to spray this when I have my window's open so the smell can clear a bit as I do find this slightly overpowering when applying the product but this also may be due to me being asthmatic.
The good thing about this deodorant is that, because it's a spray you don't need to wait for it to dry before dressing, unlike when using a roll on deodorant. I got dressed as normal and set off for work, doing my normal routine of getting the bus then walking the rest of the way with a bag packed ready to take to my boyfriends. The deodorant gave me great protection whilst walking, even though it was quite a warm day. How-ever the deodorant didn't last as long as I had hoped for. After leaving off of work 7hrs later walking from the train station to my boyfriend's house I started to feel a little wet under my arms and this made me feel quite uncomfortable. There was nothing I could do about it, walking to my boyfriend's house. I couldn't exactly stop and apply more deodorant so I just carried on until I got to his flat. As soon as I did get to his, I felt quite sweaty under my arms and I went straight into the bathroom to apply some more deodorant.
I'm not a sweaty person and I don't tend to sweat a lot and never have. I just didn't feel this deodorant gives the protection mentioned. I certainly wouldn't trust this deodorant if I was exercising as it just doesn't provide the protection you would expect. The can deodorant is true in the fact that it does not leave white mark's on your clothes, in fact this deodorant is fantastic for this, it's just a shame it doesn't protect as well as it should. I might use the deodorant again, to try and give it another go and to use the can up. I personally wouldn't recommend this deodorant, there are better one's out there that give a lot more protection and I'm sure some of these other deodorants come with white mark protection as well.
(review will also on appear on ciao)
I'm always trying out new deodorants as I've never really found one that fulfils all my needs, so when I spotted this new one on the shelves I thought I'd give it a go. My 150ml can cost me around £2.90 when I bought it in Morrisons, but you can get the same one for about £1.99 or a 250ml can for about £2.80 elsewhere.
The can looks great, really different from most other deodorants because it's black and purple rather than the usual white or silver cans. It looks really expensive and I suppose that's what made me buy it really! The can I have is different to the one pictured as it curves in at the middle and has a top which goes almost to a point. The spray is really easy to use because it just has a push button on the top, and there's no lid to have to take off before use.
The deodorant smells lovely and fresh, not too strong, and wouldn't be too noticeable or interfere with perfume, which is just how I want a deodorant to be. Anyone who likes to use their deodorant as their scent probably wouldn't like this one as there's nothing distinctive about it, it's just a fresh, clean scent.
It comes out quite fast when you press the button but it's not hard to direct it where you want it and only use as much as you need. If you hold it about 15cm away from your underarms as suggested the mist is just right to cover your underarms without making you feel wet.
The main claim of this deodorant is that it provides incredible white mark protection, and I absolutely agree with this. I've used many anti white mark deodorants before which have still left marks on black clothes but this one leaves nothing at all. I wear black tops a lot and I have never had any white marks on them when using this.
It also claims to provide long-lasting 48 hour protection, but it doesn't perform as well on this point. It does work well as a deodorant, better than most I have used, and keeps my underarms dry and fresh for up to 8 hours and can even cope with a bit of vigorous exercise before it starts to give up. It doesn't last for 48 hours at all so I really don't know where that claim comes from. Despite this though I do think it is the best deodorant I have used so far. The only problem I have is that the can runs out much quicker than other deodorants, even though I'm not spraying any more on, it really doesn't last long at all.
I decided to first try this because it stood out to me and I've been having a little trouble with white marks and my college uniform. Black uniform and white deodorant marks do not look very pleasant at all.
The deodorant comes in a classic aerosol spray can and has a special lock which you slide from one side to the other to either open or close the spray function. The design in gorgeous, the can is black with a beautiful purple flower design and white writing giving the brand name, name of product and some information about the product and of course the claim, the design is what first caught my eye as it looks wonderful!
This is widely available in most drug stores and supermarkets. It is an limited edition version and is available in two sizes 150ml for about £1.80 and 200ml for about £2.50. I think it is reasonably price for the amount you receive and if the claims are true then its a definite bargain for the quality included!
The claims that are made are - White mark protection and long lasting protection.
It is also Dermatologically tested and alcohol free.
Directions for use - Shake well. Press down firmly on first use. Hold can 15cm away from underarm and spray.
I find the deodorant really easy, quick and simple to use. Just follow the directions and your be away in no time. I find that spray deodorants are more practical as you don't need to wait around like you do with roll ons. I also feel a lot more comfortable using sprays rather than roll ons, as they tend to leave your underarms wet for a while and I hate the feeling. I love the design as its really pretty for a practical product and definitely stands out.
I really like that it comes with a lock, as I like to put this is my handbag for college as it does tend to get quite hot during summer and as our uniforms are black it sucks up the heat more than ever, so being able to carry this around and not worry, as it avoids any accidentals spills or leaks.
The deodorant is really cool and refreshing during and after applying. The smell is either a love it or hate it thing as it is quite strong and does linger even after applying perfume. In my opinion its gorgeous and definitely represents the packaging. I don't like the fact that you can still smell it after applying perfume, as it does tend to mix and if the smell isn't nice your going to be stuck until either one has faded. I have found two ways around this as I tend to like the smell and it keeps your underarms fresh, I decided not to apply perfume until the smell of the deodorant has faded. The second way is to apply it first in the morning and by the time I leave for college or work the smell has also faded. For the smell to fade it does usually take about an hour, which isn't a problem really, unless neither of those options are available to you.
I would say that the deodorant definitely lives up to its claims, I have been using this a little while now and have not experience one white mark, which is absolutely fantastic as I've already ruined one uniform and don't want the same to happen again. I also find that it is quite long lasting, I wouldn't say 24 hour protection but now I can actually get through the long college day without having to reapply or worry about sweating which is also fantastic!
Overall I think this is a great product and generally lives up to the claims. Only downfalls with this is it doesn't last 24 hours and it not great to apply perfume straight after using this. But a wonderful cheap and does a brilliant job for me. I do recommend this for people who are willing to give it a try, as it been so hard for me to find a spray deodorant that will not leave white marks and stain clothes,I would not recommend this to people who work out frequently or do tend to sweat a lot more than usual, as this does not have strong enough protection. I believe this is reasonably price for the quality and the amount you get, if the lasting time was a little longer and the smell not as dominant it would be perfect!
Sure are a well known manufacturer that produce a range of deodorant products for men and women. You can find their products in most supermarkets and high street beauty stores, and they are frequently on special offer. I decided to try out this Sure Women Crystal anti-perspirant as Sure are a trusted brand and their products are usually good value for money. This Crystal Clear Diamond version is a limited edition deodorant is available in two different sizes; 150ml which costs RRP £1.82, or 250ml which costs RRP £2.42.
Product description: "New Sure Crystal provides incredible white mark protection. Don't let anything get in the way when you want to dress to impress.
+ Long lasting protection.
+ Dermatologically tested.
+ Alcohol free."
Spray on deodorants are practical for getting ready in a hurry and freshening up as you don't have to wait around for it to dry for ages like you do with roll-ons. This antiperspirant deodorant has a stylish design, with a black coloured can and a pretty purple lace detail. This stands out from other deodorants on the shelf and looks very pretty for such a practical product.
The deodorant comes in a standard aerosol spray can, and has a clever locking mechanism where you simply slide a button from one side to the other to open or close the spray function. This is very practical if you are going to be carrying the deodorant in your bag or taking it away with you, as it avoids any accidentals leaks or spills and you don't have to worry about a lid falling off.
Directions for use: "Shake well. Press down firmly on first use. Hold can 15cm from underarm and spray."
The deodorant is very easy to use, simply shake well and then hold the can in position to reach your underarm, then spray as required. The locking function is really handy and I think this is a neat little design feature that works well. This deodorant is cooling to the skin during application and gives a fresh feeling. I have noticed that the fragrance of this Crystal Clear Diamond deodorant is very strong, and much more noticeable than other similar deodorant products. I cannot determine what the fragrance is supposed to be, it's not your normal floral or citrus scent that is common with deodorants, but it is very overpowering and smells quite chemically. This fragrance is strong enough to linger for some time after application and I can still smell it after dressing and applying perfume, which I find quite unpleasant.
Sure Crystal Clear Diamond claims to offer "incredible white mark protection", and I am happy to say that it completely delivers in this regard. I often wear black clothes so I prefer something that does not leave marks on dark coloured fabrics. This deodorant has proved to be completely invisible and I have never had any problems with marks showing on my clothes even when I am wearing tight tops or black garments. There are also no visible remnants on the skin, and absolutely no waiting around before dressing which is a great thing for saving time when getting ready in the morning. I am very pleased with the invisible formula and think that every deodorant should act like this!
As for protection from sweating during the day, it seems to do a distinctly average job. This works well as a typical everyday anti-perspirant and keeps me feeling dry as long as I don't encounter any warm temperatures or physical exertion. Another claim from Sure is that this is a "24 hour anti-perspirant". This has not been the case at all, and I am lucky if I get a quarter of that protection. I often find that I will need to reapply this deodorant for a second time during the day, as it has not stopped me from sweating. I work out several times a week and I don't mind sweating somewhat when I'm exercising as it's a natural healthy response, but it still doesn't even provide enough protection for general use through a normal day at the office.
I was very impressed with how easy it was to use this deodorant, it is quick to apply, and the white mark protection works like magic. However I feel that it is simply not strong enough to keep me from sweating, and I require stronger action from my anti-perspirant deodorants. Great on the invisible factor, but still leaves me sweaty and there is the problem of the overpowering fragrance, so this gets a poor 2 out of 5 stars from me.
