As deodorants go, this one is fairly inoffensive. It has a fairly mild, unassuming smell that just smells...clean. It makes you fresh without making you reeking of the latest lynx or whatever. I bought mine in Tesco a few months ago, attracted by the price - only a couple of pounds - and used it daily up until recently, when it ran out.
And I must say, I was highly glad it did. I didn't want to bin it and waste my money, but every time I applied it I seemed to get quite an unpleasant itching sensation in my armpits. This was not nice to walk around with all day, I can assure anyone.
It comes in a fairly standard plastic roll-on bottle that boasts: "0% alcohol"
Ah, can't have been the alcohol causing the itching then. I've looked at the ingredients and I'm not sure which is the offending one. I just know it really itches. My new deodorant - Nivea men Cool Kick - is a major relief, it's positively soothing on the skin in comparison.
To give it a fair chance it was very cheap, lasted a very long time (3 or 4 months) and de-odorised me perfectly adequately. Apart from the itching, there was nothing wrong with it. I might be allergic to something in it. It might just be me.
I'm certainly never going to buy it again, but if you're planning to, be very wary. Otherwise you might end up very itchy.
I am a bloke. Like most blokes, I don't want to faff around when it comes to ensuring I don't smell like a lowland Gorilla, especially post-workout. I want something that is un-perfumed, not shaped like some strange novelty item, is not ridiculously bulky and doesn't inadvertently spray the fella behind me, who actually does look like a lowland Gorilla.
It needs to be something that won't slip in wet hands. Something those same hands can identify by touch when delving in the shadowy depths of my odds and sods drawstring bag that's now a bit tatty and really needs replacing, but what the hell. I want a quick couple of manly wipes and expect my pits remain inoffensive for the rest of the day.
Sure for men has yet to let me down. I don't wear a little black dress, but I frequently wear black collared shirts at work, and there are no white marks. No sticky residue. No unsightly rashes. It's kind to the environment and lasts a fair amount of time for something that typically costs under three quid.
So; how does it work? Aluminium chloride is the main ingredient of most anti-perspirants. The ions within it essentially stop you sweating by closing the sweat ducts. The glycerine ensures it sticks. The rest of it can comprise of bits that smell nice, or are kinder to your skin.
This does what I want for a price I'm happy with. Simple as.
I usually always use a spray deodorant but my wife went shopping at Tesco recently and bought this roll on for me to try to see if I liked it, instead of the sprays I usually use and at first I thought I would not like to try it but since she bought it I would not like to disappoint her or I would be in trouble lol.
It comes in a small plastic silver container with a top that is easy removable and the roller on the top does move nicely under the arms, it does have a nice fragrance to it and since I have not tried too many roll on kind of deodorants, for me I prefer sprays and the roll on kind do take some getting used to for me, but I soon adapted to the feel of a roller instead of a quick spray.
This ones priced at only £1 for a 50ml and it was on special offer and it is a very good quality roll on and it does have a 24 hour protection and I just gave a couple of rolls under my arms and let it dry just for a minute or so and it dried nicely, it did not feel sticky under my arms and with a couple of roll on kind I did use a few years ago, I had an itching feeling after use but with this one, I did not have any feeling of that of any kind and I liked the fragrance and it made me feel nice and fresh for most of the day.
The roller does disperse the fine liquid nicely and it is not too thick of a liquid to smooth over the skin, and this did not mark my clothing or let me down, I do not actually sweat that much but what little I do sweat, this roll on kept it under control, and although I do prefer a spray when I buy it for myself, I was not disappointed with this roll on and I think it is worth the money and it is extremely good quality.
I think the size of this one is super for over night stays and it would fit nicely into a wash bag and I think I would prefer to take this one for when I work away from home from time to time as it is just perfect for those occasions.
This one is a well known brand and one that has been on the market for many years and all Sure products are a brand that can be trusted and I have used many over the years and always found them suitable and good products and this one is no different, it is a super roll on and I would use it again, and I was actually quite pleased with the way it kept me dry for many hours.
This can be controlled with how much you prefer to apply to your skin and how often, I just roll it a couple of times but some people like to use more movements, but that is just my preference but I just think a few are enough for my liking.
I do recommend this product for anyone to give it a try as I think it is super value and well worth a £1 for the quality and results it gives for the skin.
I rate it 5 stars.
Sure For Men Original Roll On Deodorant
Description: Brand: Sure / Type: Antiperspirants / Deodorants - Roll-on
This deodorant costs around £1.60 so isn't the cheapest product that is available on the market. Having said that, I have tried cheaper brands and found them to be less effective, so sometimes you have to accept that you get what you pay for.
It comes in a silvery grey bottle with the Sure logo on the label and is available from most supermarkets and chemists. There are a few different varieties to choose from, and I am not fussed which one I get, as they all smell quite fresh without being overpowering and they are all equally effective in my opinion.
I apply this once a day, after showering and never need to reapply. It goes on evenly and doesn't take long to dry. It also doesn't leave me feeling sticky after applying, and I haven't noticed any white marks on my clothing either, which has been a problem with other brands.
I don't have a sweating problem, but have noticed that I feel a little sticky and unfresh at the end of the day with some cheaper deodorants, which is why I keep using this one. It lasts all day long, and even if I apply after my morning shower and then don't get a chance to shower again until the next day, it doesn't need reapplying and keeps me fresh.
I can't really say more than that - it does exactly what it is supposed to, smells masculine without being overscented and prevents me feeling sweaty or sticky - these are all the things that I need from a deodorant and I will continue to buy it for those reasons!
Yes, it looks shapely, yes it makes me want to pick it up, but does the darned thing actually work. I am sick of these tv ads with hunky men, usually topless running up mountains or swinging through trees without working up so much as a drop of sweat. So, why do I get all sticky and damp, even when I am just writing Dooyoo reviews or walking round the house? I don't perspire that badly, just the odd damp bits every now and again.
What I want from an antiperspirant is something that actually stops the sweating for long periods and something that doesn't smell like you're wiping a badger's bottom under your armpit. Sure are usually pretty reliable and I find them a little better than Lynx. I associate Lynx with schoolboys who don't wash and who think a quick squirt of it on the school bus will make them suddenly irresistible to Hayley and Kelly. To me, Sure represents a more sophisticated choice. For men who don't mind admitting that they need to use it, but who can do so with a certain discreet charm and elegence.
The roll on version can be picked up from all good supemarkets for about a pound. The Sure roll ons come in a range of smells, but they basically all strive to do the same thing: stop you sweating.
This one has a slight smell, nothing I can pinpoint, but it is subtle enough and smells fragrant and chic. You obviously rub it under the armpits and wait for it to dry before getting dressed.
Does It Work?
Yes and no. It delivers on the smell and freshness, though within an hour or so I could feel damp patches appearing again. Nothing drastic, but just enough to remind me that I was sweating. The thing I did find with this is that it is quite kind to clothes though, no dodgy white marks if you allow it to dry properly. I don't think it is the strongest anti persipirant though and maybe for me it was not the right choice. It would suffice for cooler weather though. My quest continues! Sorry Sure, it let me down!
This is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive deodorant on the market (although it is up there near the top) but I would consider it one of the best. I am a woman but find most women's deodorants are cloying at best, ineffective at worst (and some, guess what, are cloying AND ineffective. A double whammy of uselessness).
This one is excellent. I love this scent - there are also others in the range which I think smell even better. Not too 'masculine' and very effective. It is nice to have a brand you can actually trust. Often I'm working from very early in the morning until quite late at night, often teaching or dancing (or teaching dancing) and this deodorant allows me to relax, knowing I still smell fresh. That sounds like an advert for the product and I suppose it is: certainly a ringing endorsement. I would recommend this to everyone, male or female, especially for those of us living life on the...er...fruity side of life.
If anyone was to walk into my bathroom they would think that there is only a man and children that live in the house, I seem to use alot of mens products you see and there are reasons why they are better than womens.
I sweat alot and smellhen I do, I have tried many womens deodorants which have failed to help me stop sweating and smelling.
I tried this sure because I bought it for my partner to see if it work better than my own and it did. It is a roll on deodorant and the orignal doesn't hold a strong mans smell either like some can, which means it is great for me because I can stay protected and not smell like a bloke. It stands on its lid so when you are applying it the ball will be wet with the deodorant which ensures it covers the pit area to protect you. It is not sticky on the skin and when I have used it I have only had to apply it once a day which with the womens I had to apply some more and even wash the pit area to stop me from smelling. When I have wore long sleaved tops it has stopped me having wet patches under the arm so there is also no embarrasement anymore which is great.
This costs me £1.59 a bottle and I do have to invest in one once a week due to me and my partner using it but it is worth it to stop me from feeling embarrased and knowing that i smell. It is great for people who sweat alot male or female and does not have a strong smell to it so a woman will not smell like a man if they use it.
The Roll On Style Deodorant has always been the same shape and design, it seems that it is hard to really change the design. Since its probably the most ergonomic design apart from the other alternate design which are basically a cylinder that took up even more space.
The thing with this deodorant is that its shape makes it comfortable and easy to grip to reach without having to strain your arm. Personally, I don't like the way roll on deodorants are applied because it feels too close for comfort. The feeling on it rolling up and does not really suite everyone.
The part which is unbearable for me is when it dries up, because you feel so aware of it especially after you have applied it. The ball does not always move smoothly and problem free , especially if its not full.
After you apply the deodorant it is not bad, it has a mild smell that does not smell too strong, yet it is strong enough to keep you feeling reasonably fresh through the day. However, there are some advantages to using this type of deodorant as opposed to spray based ones.
One would be the ability to be discreet, this does not have an attention grabbing hissing sound when you apply it hence attracting quite a lot of attention.
However there is one disadvantage, since you actually have to come into with the deodorant and rub it against your skin, it would be unhygienic to share with other people, team mates etc, like you would with a spray based deodorant.
Best of all this can be purchased at a very reasonable price of 99 pence at most 99p shops.
The saying you get what you pay for is often very true, and with this deodorant I can honestly say that this is the case. I have tried many more budget brands and well lets just say I have not felt as confident with the results. Don't get me wrong they have usually felt okay but I wouldn't like to do a job interview using one.
So I tend to seek out the Sure range out of a tried and tested method of well, it just doesn't let you down. I tend to avoid aerosols not from some sense of saving the world but because I don't like the effect of the random dispersal method, and to be quite honest they don't seem to work as well.
There are a number of products in the range, but I usually plump for the original which looks harmless enough. Not the most striking of products, but then I have always looked beyond packaging when choosing a product. The actual bottle is very aesthetically pleasing and quick to open and close with a simple twist.
As for the actual roll on experience, well it is also pleasing, giving a good dispersal of product quickly and accurately. The smell is intense and reassuring but dries to a comfortable feel very quickly. I can't remember a time when the ball has dried out causing that annoying sticking, when you have to force it to move with your fingers or worse, bash it against the wall (or am I the only one?). No it delivers like an old work horse time and time again.
But perhaps the most important aspect with this roll on is that it lasts for such a long time. Like the adverts say (have I been brain washed?) it won't let you down. I can't say that it will last the 24 hours that is stated, but to be honest who really needs that sort of commitment form their roll on? It gets me through an average day without incident, Job done!
If you rush you will find the range on offer at Tesco for the bargin price of £1 each, which is great value in my opinion.
