“ Brand: Sure / Type: Deodorant Spray / Suitable for: Body „
I tried this deodorant after seeing it on offer in Boots recently for £1 a can. It normally sells for £1.79-£1.89 a can which is pricey for such a small deodorant. Each can is 100mls but looks smaller. When you remove the lid each can is around 3 inches high - it is perfect for a schoolbag or gym bag or a handbag but for your money, you don't get a lot of product.
It is aimed at teenage girls (with the "girl" word printed on the can) and the graphics are a bit more cartoony than the "adult" (if you can refer to it as that) Sure deodorant range. But then again, i'm 29 and I didn't feel out of place using this. It smells good- it is much more perfumed than your normal deodorant and you will NOT need to wear any other fragrance or perfume when you are using this.
It works really well as an anti perspirant (I walk 5 miles a day to and from work so I think i can gauge this aspect of it quite well) and the fragrance lasts well so you won't find you have to re-spray through the day.
As the perfume is so strong in it and tropical is a good name for the fragrance as it is uplifting and quite fruity, one can, altohugh being small will last a few weeks. It depends how much you want to use.
I found this more exciting than normal deodorants and it doesnt have a shade of talc scent. Most deodorants smell like talc in some way or another, but this didn;t have that.
I'm working for Sure Girl at the minute, and I would definitely recommend it. I love to dance, and as an antiperspirant, it always works for me. Sure Girl Dance Energy is my favourite because of the sweet smell - it's got a black bottle with a pink cap. It's definitely for anyone who likes moving to music :)
I was shopping in Tesco recently when I spotted a shelf end which was full of cut price deodorants and body sprays. My usual brand cost £1.79 so I was delighted when I discovered that all of the featured products were priced at £1. I have been on the lookout for ages for a product which comes in a slightly smaller canister so that it will easily fit into my handbag and which won't take up too much room. In amongst the products was a rather attractive little deodorant spray which was called sure girl. I have to confess that although I have heard of sure deodorant as a brand I did not realise that they made this relatively new range. The product that I ended up purchasing was the Tropical Power version of this product.
This deodorant I am pleased to confirm was in fact an anti-perspirant spray which professed to provide 24 hour protection. One of the main reasons I purchased it was because it contained no alcohol and had been dermatologically tested. This is important certainly in my case as I have allergies and choosing the wrong products of this type in the past has resulted in my developing a rash and unsightly bumps and lumps in some cases. In addition the product was a relatively small can which contained only 100ml of the product. I am unsure however and to be more economical if you can actually get a larger version of the product. I only use mine on occasion for emergencies only when I am away from home so this small version suited my needs extremely well. I had a scan about and apparently the normal cost of this product is around the £1.49 mark, so I was pleased with my slight saving. However I think it would be expensive to use it everyday particularly in the small 100ml format.
The manufacturers state that you cannot buy a more effective anti-perspirant aerosol for girls. Have fun without limits as apparently this spray will provide protection with long-lasting fragrances. In addition it will provide protection against wetness and odour with a light fresh fragrance.
The product is very 'girlie' pink and white in colour with the distinctive sure tick across the front. It has a pink cap and comes as an aerosol spray. Possibly aimed at the teenage market due to its rather funky design. As previously stated the fragrance is tropical power I sprayed this on for the first time and was surprised at how over-powering the fragrance actually was. After a bout of sneezing it died down a bit and I have to say that the spray was actually extremely pleasant. If not a little bit sweet for my liking. I therefore would not use this as my daily deodorant of choice for this reason as I prefer something a little bit more subtle. It did however have quite a crisp and floral scent to it again not my first choice. Ideal then for someone who prefers a stronger fragrance overall. I have to say I am still a bit confused as to why the makers named it 'tropical power' as I didn't personally detect anything remotely tropical about the product apart from a very small palm tree on the front of the can. The product did however live up to its promises of providing protection and lasted a good few hours. As far as the keeps you fresh for 24hours goes I unfortunately am unable to answer this question. However if I use it and get lost for a day then I will update my review!!!! Unfortunately another negative point would be the fact that I noticed a few white powder marks on my clothes after using this which was a little bit disappointing. However this could have been down to excessive spraying on my part.
Effective in providing dryness and prevents body odour
Fits nicely in your handbag
Fragrance a little bit too over-powering for my liking
Leaves white marks
Expensive as is only available in 100ml canisters
Overall rating and comments
I would rate this three stars due to the fact that it does provide effective anti- perspirant protection. An acquired taste however I would recommend giving it a go particularly as it is on offer at the moment.
I have been looking for an antiperspirant deodorant that smells really nice for a long time now. I used to buy Impulse because it was the nicest smelling deodorant on the market but whilst most deodorants do their job, none of them smell remarkably nice. Before I tried Sure Girl, I would have never dreamed of buying a Sure product as I disliked the smell of the feminine range. However, this was introduced last year and I think that 'Impulse' and other deodorant brands have met their match.
There are 3 types of 'Sure Girl': 'Fun Spirit', 'Crazy Violet' and this one, 'Tropical Power'. I haven't tried the other kinds but I don't think I will in a hurry because I love this one too much.
This deodorant certainly does as good a job as other Sure deodorants which, whilst not smelling so nice, are effective on decreasing wet patches and keeping you smelling fresh during the day and fresher after a gym workout. I am generally not the type of person who sweats too much or suffers from BO so I can't say what effect it would have on those who do, but it certainly works for me.
As I have mentioned, my favourite thing about this deodorant is that it smells great. It has a very summery, fruity and slightly floral scent that you could almost wear as a perfume, should you be lacking in pennies. I would advise that if you do wear a perfume that you don't spray it all over your body and just spray a bit on your underarms as it may mix in with and confuse the smell of your perfume. If you do worry about the deodorant smells mixing in with your perfume I would probably opt for one that is fragrance free, not this one. On the other hand, this could match very well with fruity, tropical perfumes such as those within the Escada range.
The scent of 'Sure Girl' lasts for a long time and so long as you spray it properly (right distance, right amount) there are no white stains. This is good because a lot of my clothes are black or dark. In addition, it doesn't seem to sting when you've just shaved your underarms.
It comes in an attractive little bottle with a pink design and top, which is just the right size to travel around with. My only criticism is that maybe a larger version would be nice to keep at home as I seem to run out of this quite quickly.
It costs £1.59 per 100ml bottle at Tesco at the moment, which may seem quite expensive for some people, in relation to its size. Then again, a 75ml Impulse bodyspray, which does not even contain antiperspirant, costs £1.74 at Tesco.

I wouldn't buy this on a strict budget but it is worth paying a bit more to get a deodorant that smells so good whilst being effective and kind to my skin. It's a handy size, looks pretty and is good for those who wish to smell a bit, well, girly!
