I bought this 250ml Sure Radiant deodorant after being impressed with the Sure Bright deodorant from the range. ~ Price and availability ~ I paid £4 for 2 Sure deodorants in Boots recently, but they usually retail at £3.15. A quick check on Boots website tells me that this deodorant is currently half price at just £1.57 for a 250ml can. I always think deodorant is quite expensive at full price, but I forget how long a can lasts me. I have been using this can for just under 2 months and it is nearly empty, but it's been a warm few months and I'm sure I have had cans last me even longer. ~ Packaging ~ The deodorant comes in a tall aerosol can. The bottom of the can is bright purple and the top of the can is white with a purple 'Sure tick' and floral decorations. The front of the can has 'Women Sure Long Lasting Protection Radiant' on the front and underneath it in smaller letters, 'With scents of peach & wild raspberry 48h active anti-perspirant 0% alcohol'. The button to spray the deodorant is large and purple and it has a rubbery feel. The spray is released when you push the button. ~ In use ~ The spray can is quite large. I carry mine around in my handbag with me, but my handbag is on the large side. I have found that the deodorant doesn't leave white marks on my clothing and it is very long lasting compared with other brands I have used. The can advises you to shake well before use and hold the can 15cm from your underarm. The scent is initially quite strong for a deodorant. My other half just walked into the room after I had sprayed this deodorant to review it and he asked if I had been spraying perfume. It isn't too strong though and it settles down to a much more subtle scent quite quickly, but I often find I can still detect the scent after a good few hours. The scent is peach and wild raspberry. I think these scents go well together. It is feminine and sweet, but not sickly. I find that a 250ml can will last me for between 2 and 3 months, which is pretty good going. Other brands of deodorant I have used have needed to be reapplied half way through the day, but I have found Sure does not usually need reapplying during my 8 hour working day. I recently used the Cotton Fresh Sure deodorant and I found that it really caught in my throat and it was quite choking, but I still found it very effective. This Radiant deodorant does not have the choking effect, but it is very effective as a deodorant. The can suggests that this offers 48 hour protection. I don't think it lasts quite that long, but I'd say it offers 12 hours protection easily. ~ Conclusion ~ I have found this deodorant is very effective and long lasting. The scent is very pleasant and it sticks around for a few hours. I will definitely buy this deodorant again. I would be reluctant to buy deodorant from another brand in the future.
Every year my mum gets me a box of useful and practical things and one of the things I get (along with the socks and soap!) is a can of deodorant. It might seem odd but as a working mum I never have the time to buy little things like this and I always appreciate a stockpile! Last year, as in Christmas 2012 my mum got me Sure Radiant Anti-Perspirant Deodorant. I'd never seen it before but it's in a lovely elegant tall white can, and has an easy to use spray. I have been wary about deodorants which don't promise to be non white marking on dark coloured clothes, but I have never had any problems with Sure Radiant Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, so for that reason alone I'd recommend it and would buy it again personally. The spray mist from the aerosol is good and strong and there is no liquid loss or a wet feeling under the arms which can be so awful, it's more powdery without the powder actually going anywhere. The scent is lovely, hard to describe but best described as lightly perfumed and fresh, but you'll have to have a sneaky spray of it to see what I mean! It's not a scent which stays all day unfortunately (do they ever?) but thankfully the deodorising qualities do last all day and I can spray it on at 7.30am and still feel fresh at 7.30pm so I can vouch for it working. Overall it's a nicely packaged, easy to spray, effective deodorant with a pleasing scent. What more could you want? I've used supermarket own brands previously and whereas they're OK - this really is a good deodorant and I'd use it again no problems. I've seen it priced at £1.69 and I think that this is a great price as on a daily use it will easily last you six weeks or more. Five out of five stars from me, Sure Radiant Anti-Perspirant Deodorant is a great product I recommend.
Application This deodorant is really easy to apply, you simply keep it a few centimetres from your skin and spray it under your arms. You do not need to spray that much of it to get good results so it is best that you only use a little at a time. Scent This deodorant has a lovely floral scent to it, it is not too overpowering or obvious, but I think that it is much more pleasant than the chalky scent that some deodorants have to them. What I Thought I really liked this deodorant, I loved the smell of it but apart from that I also found that it was quite effective at keeping sweat at bay, I found that I did not need to worry about being embarassed by sweat marks or chalky white stains on my clothes when I used this spray. I would say that it does not provide a whole days protection, and usually I sprayed myself with it in the morning and once again after work or after my shower. This spray is alcohol free and I found that it did not irritate my skin and that I could use it as many times in the day as I liked without coming out in a rash or feeling any stinging feeling under my arms. I really liked this spray and plan to buy it again, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a girly scented deodorant and I have actually got my sisters and mother to change their current deodorants to try it out as well. Price and Availability You can buy a 150ml bottle of this deodorant in Tesco for around £1.30, I think that this is a great price and would definitely recommend trying it out as it smells lovely and feminine and is a really good anti-perspirant. Overall I think that this is a great anti-perspirant, it smells really feminine, keeps sweat and white marks away and is cheap to buy, for me it ticks all the boxes. Overall I would give this deodorant 5 out of 5 stars. *also on ciao under lorrainek90
Like many women I suspect, an anti-perspirant deodorant is an essential for me in order to prevent sweating and remain smelling fresh. I've tried numerous brands and deodorants over the years, and the Sure brand is one of my favourites, as it is generally effective. The brand states "Sure deodorants can be relied upon to give you long-lasting protection against sweat and odour, keeping you feeling fresh and confident all day and night". This particular deodorant was one I purchased recently as it was on special offer. I got 2 150ml cans for £3 from Boots - normally it costs £1.99, or you can get a larger 250ml can for £2.95. I think this is a reasonable price in line with most deodorant brands. I love the packing for this deodorant. It comes in a curved white spray bottle with a purple lace design. It is attractive and sophisticated and I am happy to display it on my shelf - in contrast to most deodorant packaging which is dull at best and ugly at worst. This particular deodorant is named Radiant 48hr Active Anti-Perspirant, and is described as having scents of peach and wild raspberry. It is simple to spray the deodorant and it doesn't take long to dry. It has a vaguely floral pleasant scent, but it's nothing to write home about. Using this deodorant can sometimes lead to white marks, but I've found that I can minimise the effect of this on my clothes by waiting a while before putting them on. I recently tried a Sure 'no white marks' deodorant and found it to be very disappointing. Therefore I was a bit worried that this one wouldn't be effective either. However, I've actually found it to be very good - perhaps the ingredient that prevents white marks is the one that also stops deodorants from working! I've put this through its paces in a number of ways: standing on a crowded tube, a day at work, an evening at the gym - and it has worked well on all occasions. It's not perfect, but it's one of the best non-maximum protection deodorants I've tried. Overall, a highly recommended deodorant that offers excellent protection for the price.
In my work I have to work closely with people on computers and therefore really want to be confident that my deodorant works well. Anyone who works with computers knows that they produce quite a bit of heat so I feel I am in a good position to test out deodorants! Sure is a brand that I have used for quite a while and feel very confident in recommending as they cope well with the heat. One good spray in the morning lasts me until I go to bed. This is probably a good thing as the spray is a bit too big to carry around with you all day. This might put some people off especially if they like to carry their deodorant in their handbag although it probably wouldn't take up much room in a gym bag. ( It has been a while since I have my gym bag out. Such is like with a toddler!) Unlike some other deodorants this spray is quite fine and doesn't leave me or my clothes with tell tale white marks. It also doesn't have that terrible spray that seems to hang in the air and makes me cough. I have quite sensitive skin but have never had a reaction to this deodorant although I would recommend that you don't spray under your arms immediately after shaving. (Guaranteed to wake you up with a start!) The deodorant is also alcohol free so shouldn't dry out your skin too much and my under arms feel quite smooth and soft. Surviving in a hot room during the day and the commute home with the mad dash to the nursery which raises my stress levels I would have to I would give this deodorant 5 marks out of 5 for effectiveness. Of course another factor in selecting a deodorant is the smell. Personally I dislike overly powerful smelling deodorant but like the smell of this one which I am pleased to say isn't too sweet or sickly. I would say that the peach smell comes over slightly more than the raspberry but together they have a nice feminine smell. It isn't too overpowering that you cant wear a perfume as well and I like the fruity smell. Of course being a well known brand means that it is very easy to pick up this deodorant at chemists and supermarkets. It costs around £3.00 for 250 ml and it my opinion is a good buy. I have to confess that the aresol can is nicely decorated too with a purple florish and looks good on the bathroom shelf. The other point which is probably worthwhile mentioning is that the aresol can curves in slight ly at the top so it makes it much easier to grip and spray saving valuable time in the morning! Overall a good reliable buy so 5 stars from me.
I exercise regularly (at least 4 times a week) and therefore have use for a reliable deodorant. In my opinion this is one of the best. I get through bottles of regular deodorant extremely quickly however this lasts much longer than others. One of the advantages of using this antiperspirant is that it doesn't really leave and white marks on clothing. In addition to this it lasts for a relatively long time. The smell is very nice and relatively subtle for this kind of product. You can wear perfume as well as this antiperspirant and the smell of the perfume is not compromised. This can be used not only when planning to undertake exercise but in the day or for an evening out. It lasts long enough for an event- it even recently stopped me sweating at a very crowded gig. The last thing you want it to be stinking in the mosh pit!
Sure is a brand which I do trust when it comes to antiperspirant deodorants and I pick up their products fairly often, but I do tend to be swayed by the offers and promotions because I like a bargain, so I don't stay completely brand loyal with my deodorants. A couple of months ago this Sure "radiant" deodorant from the fragrance collection caught my eye due to its bright purple coloured can. I thought it looked attractive and unusual, and when I picked it up I saw it was fragranced with "scents of peach and wild raspberry" which is also quite unusual for a deodorant as usually they have simple clean smells like cucumber or aloe vera. Since it was only £1 (I think this was in Wilkinsons or somewhere like that but might have been Tesco) I decided to give it a go. As well as looking nice due to its purple colour and floral design, the can is also practically shaped as it bends in towards the top, making it the ideal shape to hold in your hand. As with most deodorant cans you release the product by pressing a button, but here it needs to be pushed forward first to activate it. This ensures no one has sprayed it in the shop before you buy and it's not hard to activate, so I had no problem with this. Sure promises that this deodorant offers long lasting protection for 48 hours and an incredible fragrance. Its also alcohol free and dermatologically tested. I am always sceptical of 48 hour claims and all I really require is 24 hours or less, as if it lasts all day then that's great, and obviously I would shower again and spray more deodorant the next morning, like most people! On spraying the scent is fairly noticeable and I found it pleasant. It's quite a warm fruity scent which is feminine and fresh but not a typical clean neutral smell, so takes a bit of getting used to and won't be for everyone. I like it, but on the whole I think I do prefer a more standard scent though this was good for a change. It sprays easily, giving a decent amount and it does not come out powdery or too wet, just a normal consistency. It dries quickly on the underarms and I don't need to wait for it to dry. The scent lingers a bit but is not overpowering or too strong, and didn't interfere with my perfume. This scent would only really be noticeable to those up close to you. I found the performance of it was fairly good but not the best I have used, and not as good as some other Sure deodorants (such as the linen dry ultra dry one). It definitely does not work for 48 hours as they claim, as sometimes it does not even work all day, though it usually does. I found that in hot weather I still sweated with this if I was very active, but it was perfectly adequate for normal daily activities and kept me dry if I was not running about or doing anything that might particularly make me sweat. I never experienced any white marks or stains on my clothes or skin from this deodorant, and I never had any skin irritation or discomfort from it. Overall I was happy with it but not blown away. If on offer for £1 again I'd be happy to get it again as I think that's a good price, but I wouldn't particularly seek it out otherwise. I would have given 3.5 but I'll round up to 4!
As part of my daily routine I like to have a squirt of deodorant under the old arms after a shower. It helps keep me fresh and is something I have done since about the age of 10. I usually chop and change with deodorants and like to buy whatever is on offer when I am shopping. A couple of weeks ago I spotted Sure Woman Radiant, its lovely purple tin and feminine shape attracted me to it over the others on the shelf and the fact that it was a £1 also went in its favour. For my £1 I got 150ml of deodorant that claims to give 48 hour protection, not a claim I have tried out as 48 hours with out a shower seems a bit disgusting. The deodorant claims to offer long lasting protection, incredible fragrance, to be alcohol free and dermatologically tested. When fresh out of the shower I grabbed the can, gave it a shake, unlocked it by pushing the spray bit forward with my thumb (it does not appear to lock back up) and sprayed it under each arm. The directions for use are to spray from 15cms away, I am not sure if I was exactly 15cms away from my under arms, but for the purpose of this review I should think I was about the right distance. The spray is easy to press and the deodorant comes out in a nicely directed mist, it is very easy to spray. The deodorant comes out of the can in quite a dry mist and sticks to my under arms, it does not feel damp or too flaky. The fragrance is described as radiant with scents of Peach and Wild Raspberry; to me it smells like Watermelon. Maybe I can smell Raspberry if I allow my imagination to run wild, but really I would have to say the fragrance is quite unremarkable. I have used this after shaving and the deodorant does not sting or cause me any sort of irritation. I have not noticed any white marks left behind by the deodorant either. As to its antiperspirant effects I would have to say it does quite a good job, I don't consider myself an overly sweaty person. When worn for general day to day tasks such as house work and pottering in the garden I have found it to prevent wet under arms and to keep the under arm area fresh till showering before bed. The can has lasted me for over a month, I don't use it every day as I like to chop and change with the others I have in my draw. I think it was a £1 well spent. It's not a miracle cure for sweating, if I was to go to the gym (ha ha) or undertake something more strenuous I would probably favour my Dove deodorants. In conclusion, it has a nice enough fragrance and can be combined with other fruity based body products with out clashing, it keeps my under arms fresh through out the day, I have not found any one who admits to testing out its 48 hour protection claims. I am happy enough with this deodorant and would happily buy it again for a £1. Thank you for reading.
This is a review on Sure's radiant antiperspirant deodorant which I recently bought for the first time. Now I should say I'm not somebody who would usually shell out for brand name items (I'm a bit of a cheapskate in other words) however this must have been on offer or something I will now share my experience of it with you. On first use I noticed that this product had a really lovely aroma, which you would expect of a deodorant. It wasn't too overpowering which I can find with some products. I also liked that the deodorant didn't seem to gather or leave a sticky or damp residue which I have noted with some other products. I also have rather sensitive underarms and some deodorants have irritated it in the past, however this product was very gentle and kind to my skin. It also didn't leave any of those pesky white marks or patches on clothing which are annoying. So far I have been singing this products praises however there was one big problem with it. It simply didn't last long enough! I think it probably lasted about 3 hours maybe 4 and this is in pretty cold conditions. I would recommend this product to a friend and I would buy it again, but I'm afraid the cheapskate in me says only if its on offer. 7/10 Thanks for reading, if you found this review helpful please say so, hwise05
I found this deodorant to have a gorgeous scent which I think applies to all of the sure range of anti-perspirants, it did keep me feeling clean and I could smell the scent throughout the day however it didn't keep me totally dry all day, only for a couple of hours at the most. It did however leave my underarms feeling soft which was nice but I think the only reason I would buy again would be for the scent more than anything else.
I have used Sure deodorants since I was a young teenager, and as the older I have got, the less I have liked their products. I have experiences many problems with some of their deodorants such as rashes, irritation and white marks. I never seem to be impressed with many of their aerosol deodorants anymore, however their new fragrance collection has completely changed my negative opinion on them. As far as I am aware, there are two deodorants in the collection and these are Bright (pink can) and Radiant (purple can) which is what I will be reviewing today. I came across this as my nan had brought me it so I felt that I may as well try it out despite my underlying opinions of the brand. It is available from supermarkets and pharmacies and the smaller can which is 150ml retails for around £2.00, and the larger 250ml can which I have is £2.95. I feel that the larger can is quite a steep price, however you do get a huge can and it does last a while so it is probably worth it! To firstly unlock the spray, you have to push forward with your thumb on the part which you press down and this activates it to use. This is effective as you can always be sure that yours has not previously been tested out by other people. Using it is simple, as you just spray directly to the underarms, keeping 30 centimetres or so away so as not to irritate the skin. It is extremely important that you shake this can well before use as it prevents white marks occurring! The first thing which I noticed when I sprayed this was its gorgeous scent. I am often a fan of the scent of Sure deodorants as they tend to be quite subtle and clean but not too overpowering. The Radiant fragrance is a very fresh scent, similar to something such as clean cotton and I love it, however I know that it would not be the scent to everyone's taste. Overall, I was extremely impressed with how it smelt and I was happy to wear it throughout the day as it left me smelling clean. Ensure it is sprayed from quite a way away because the spray comes out fast and if applied too close to the armpit, it can leave you stinging under the arms which is a very unpleasant feeling, particularly if yours are as sensitive as mine are! The one thing I really have to vouch for the Sure Radiant deodorant is that it does not leave white marks! Sure are a well known company which always claim to never leave white marks, however with practically every other Sure deodorant I have tried, I have been left with crumbling white bits all down my clothes and side which is not a good look, especially when wearing black! However, this deodorant does not leave any marks at all, and instead just sprays the underarms leaving them clean and dry. It does claim to be a 48 hour anti-perspirant, however I completely disagree with this statement. It barely makes it through 24 hours yet alone two days, and I always carry it around in my bag to top it up throughout the day just to be sure. The scent does go quite quickly, and I have found that it does not last particularly long if you are busy running around doing tasks or carrying out exercise, so be sure to have it on you if you are doing active tasks. Overall, one of the best deodorants I have tried from Sure. It has a lovely scent and works very well, but unfortunately I have to knock off one star simply because it is not that long lasting. Thanks for reading.
One thing that is an absolute must for me when buying an antiperspirant is that it has to smell nice. I love my fragrances and so one that smells like talc powder is a big no-no. That is why the Sure Radiant collection caught my eye. The other factor is that it must do what it promises on the tin. They come in a choice of a 150ml can or a 250ml can but I always feel that the larger cans work out at better value for money because you have to replace them less often and so the overall cost if you were to buy the smaller ones would work out a bit more. Also, the stores local to me all have a choice of two different fragrances and out of the two I definitely prefer the one that comes in a purple can as it is fragranced with Peach and Wild Raspberry scents which is lovely and my husband always comments on how nice I smell when I am wearing it. I found the one in the pink can was a bit of an over powering smell for me with its Jasmine and Apricot fragrances but that is probably just my extra sensitive sense of smell at the moment. The information on the can promises long lasting 48hour protection and although I shower daily so have not literally put this to the test, it definitely keep you dry and smelling and feeling fresh for at least 24 hours. Although I am a bit too shower obsessed to test it for the full 48 hours, I think I have definitely put it to the test in other ways. I have a daughter who is coming up to 15 months old and so I am always on my feet chasing around after her whilst also keeping the house tidy, cooking in a hot kitchen, running errands and chasing my two energetic dogs around a huge field. Even when doing all of this in hot, sticky weather I have remained dry and smelling nice. Another great thing about this product is that it has been dermatologically tested and contains 0% alcohol so if like me, you have sensitive skin this is a good option. It has never made my skin sore or irritated which is a rare find for me. On the top of the can it states "No matter what you dare to do, Sure won't let you down." and so far, this bold statement has not been disproved by me.
This deodorant comes with a fresh smell, that's not too strong - the smell doesn't interfere if you want to wear another perfume but doesn't under-perform if you use it alone. It performs well, but unfortunately not for as long as it claims. When put to the test, i.e. in a heat wave or a particularly active session, the deodorant performs well - but the anti-perspirant is disappointing. Although, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Anti-perspirants that are entirely effective normally come with strong health warnings. This Sure deodorant works with the mild anti-perspirant to keep you fresh AND healthy. Topping up mid-day may be necessary. The can design is also a positive factor; it is a pretty feminine design that compliments my dressing table. With a shape that is easy to hold and use. The price of this deodorant is good too. It doesn't break the bank. Overall: It is a great product that has become a staple in my morning routine.
When it comes to deodorants there are three things I look for before I buy one. One that its a brand I know of and trust somewhat, two that it has a nice fragrance and three that its on offer or a decent price. This one that I bought a few weeks ago screamed buy me when I saw it in my local Asda store on offer for a pound and to boot....well the can looked nice and attractive too. The Packaging: This can is curved near to the top of it for ease of handling and has a slightly sloped top to it which has a push button aerosol sprayer to the top of it. The can is tall and attractive and lilac, purple and white in colour with a tick to the top of the front of the can letting us know that it is a Sure product and then we are told that it it 'Women' Sure, Long Lasting Protection 'Radiant' and that its from the fragrance collection 'With scents of peach & wild raspberry' and that it offers 48h protection and that it contains 0% alcohol. On the back of the can other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, how to use it, ingredients and cautions are given along with the size stated and contact details for Unilever are given (the manufacturer of the product). This is a really nice can with the button that you push to spray it able to be locked by pushing it up gently meaning its safe for travel and in the bathroom when little hands are about wanting to investigate! The Antiperspirant: The spray is very easy to use indeed. It sprays out slightly damp but the liquid feels slightly oily giving the underarms a gently moisturised and smooth feeling (providing of course you are hair free there lol!). This dries into the skin within seconds but leaves skin feeling really smooth for hours. This is great because no powder is visible so you can wear whatever colour top that you want to wear with total confidence. The aroma of this although well blended, I have to admit that I'm not overly keen on. It is a blend of soft peach and raspberry and to me with a sort of orchid aroma to it to although that isn't listed and it is nicely and naturally sweet but to me its just an odd aroma really. On the plus side the underarms are left unirritated, its great to use straight after shaving and really does offer protection for 48hrs and beyond and that fragrance does linger delicately, freshly and cleanly on the skin for a good few hours which is another plus if you actually like it. I think this is a brilliant spray, great to use when at the gym and if you jog or run as it not only does all of the above but stops us getting wet and soggy underarms. I like the way that it leaves no residue at all on me or my clothes but this one, well I wouldn't buy this again in this fragrance but will definitely purchase it in another fragrance in the future without hesitation! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
When it comes to things like deodorants, I am not loyal to any particular brand. I generally buy whatever is on offer, or is the best price (with the exception of own brands, as I've not had any luck with those!) Luckily, Sure is often on some kind of special, so it is an antiperspirant that I use very regularly. This Radiant one is one of my absolute favourites, and when I buy Sure it is usually this one. I love the packaging. I'm not 'fooled' by packaging, attractive packaging doesn't make me lose sight of the value of an item; likewise unattractive packaging doesn't put me up nor down. But this is very pretty. It comes in a 250ml aerosol can, and the can is shaped with a narrower section near the top, to make holding it very comfortable. It does not have a removable lid, simply a push button at the top which you press to use the product. This can also be locked which is handy if you have to take it in your bag anywhere. It's easy to use, simply push the button forward to open it, and pull it back to lock. The can is all white and purple (my favourite colour, so I do wonder how big a part the packaging did play in my choosing it the first time!) The front has the trademark Sure tick and below this a very delicate and girly floral, swirly pattern. I love this kind of graphic as it's so pretty. It is also subtly shaped like a tick mark, which I guess is deliberate. The product proclaims long lasting protection (48h) and tells us it is part of the Fragrance Collection, with scents of peach and wild raspberry, and contains 0% alcohol. The back of the can has the usual information, such as directions, safety, ingredients and more product info (dermatologically tested). All standard aerosol stuff, but always worth a quick read especially if you know you have certain sensitivities. It is dispensed in a nice dry and wide spray, but is not powdery. Sure generally always passes the 'white marks' test and this variation is no exception. Black is one of my favourite colours to wear (slimming, yes?) and I have never had unsightly white marks. It also does not gather on your clothes, leaving a hardened mark that does not wash out with anything I have discovered, like some cheaper deodorants do. The smell is just beautiful. I detect the raspberry the most, which suits me down to the ground as I love berry smells. It does last a long time, unless I've been exceptionally strenuous - like running a marathon or doing several hours in the gym (very rare)! - I still smell this at the end of the day, and indeed the next day before I get in the shower. I can't testify to it's claims to work for 48 hours, as I actually shower at least once a day, with rarely much more than 24 hours between showers. Since I buy it on special it is usually half price, or BOGOF. So I either pay around £1.25 for one can, or £2.50ish for two cans. It will last me more than a week, but I usually buy a can of antiperspirant every week, so I don't run out and have to buy it from a local convenience shop, as the prices are astronomical! I am a bit heavy handed though, I know it; I will give each armpit a generous spray then spray down my front and up my back too. So it probably could last me longer but this is my routine and it's what I like. I've never suffered any kind of irritation or stinging from using this, even straight after shaving, despite my generosity with it! I would definitely recommend this one, the smell is gorgeous and it does what it promises.
