I am a "Buzz agent" and occasionally get freebies through the post. Last week I got a range of Women Sure long lasting protection Compressed aerosol deodorant's. Now I'm the first to admit I love receiving freebies, even more so "new" products but personally prefer roll on deodorant but always open so happy to give them a go.
I suppose the most key issue with this product is that the aerosol is compressed and it states "lasts as long with less packaging" so better for the environment and takes less space. This 125ml can is the equivalent to 250ml.
My product is in a white aerosol can, with a blue swirly strip down the side and a big blue tick which is recognisably the Sure logo. The top is clear white plastic. Around the top of the can is a green section, stating that its "compressed". The can also states 48 hour motion sense system and that its anti-perspirant 0% alcohol.
On the rear of the can, the Ingredients are stated as
Butane, Isobutane, Propane, Aluminum Chlorohydrate, Cyclopentasiloxane, PPG-14 Butyl Ether, Parfum, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Gelatin Crosspolymer, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Aqua, Hydrated Silica, Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Maltodextrin, Hydrolysed Corn Starch, Silica, BHT, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Cinnamate, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citral, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool
Sure is manufactured by
This deodorant is currently £2 for 1 or 3 for £5 in Asda.
So what do I think;
My first application I managed to get a full arm pit of white dust, which I rubbed off with my hand. A little later, I accidentally tasted it and it very much reminded me of the acrid taste of products to stop you biting your nails. Clearly this product is not for tasting...... So next day, read the back of the can and realise supposed to shake well and then spray 15cm away, which as I was dressed all ready was a challenge. Anyway spray now on and no snow fall arm pit. The aroma is very much like newly laundered sheets, almost linen like, which is nice and fresh. Later whilst at work (whilst interviewing) I notice I have a white circle on the front of my uniform, when using the wet finger and rub technique, I realise that this is definitely deodorant as it tastes foul. I'll be honest, I am already fed up, I had snow and now I have a white stain. The freshness lasted the shift but the smell definitely disappeared early on. I tried several more times on different days, spraying before dressing but had similar issues, so confess to having returned to my roll on's.
Sorry, appreciate eco friendly and small, but getting 2 stars from me but could be user error.....
Through bzzagent I was recently given a chance to try this deodorant for free.
What are compressed deodorants?
They're deodorants that have been "compressed" into a smaller can (125ml instead of 250ml) to be easier to handle, more environmentally friendly, and probably easier to carry too.
What are the claims for this deodorant?
Lasts 48 hours, Anti-white marks and yellow stains, Alcohol free, lasts as long but with extra packaging
I love the size of this can! It's small, easy to put in my bag, the lid doesn't just come off (and spray all over your stuff in your bag), and it's easy to handle.
The scent for this one is aqua, although I believe it's more like 'clean laundry' but that's probably not what you'd want to call a deodorant. The smell is not overwhelming or powerful, and you can easily wear a perfume along with this one. It seems more neutralizing to me which I like.
This deodorant for me lasts between 24-36 hours which is not bad, but it's less than what's stated on the bottle.
I love these new compressed deodorants. No need for shaking and carrying around a huge can. It's more environmentally friendly and it shows companies have really given a lot of thought about this. This is a must try for me.
Oh how happy my armpits are when I smother them with this lovely deodorant.
----- Why did I buy it -----
I bought this product because I saw loads of adverts on tv about how there was the same amount in a smaller bottle. My first thought was "yeah right". But actually, it seems there probably is. I have used the full size before, and they both seem to last as long. It was on offer, buy one get one free, so i had in excuse to not try it out to see if my "yeah right"'s were valid.
----- How does the product feel on my skin? -----
Lovely. Actually. As always with the crystal range, my skin somehow feels moisturised all day without feeling sweaty. This is something I feel a lot of other deodorant brands haven't mastered. Often, because of all the ingredients in them, being used to create a dry barrier for sweat, the product just flakes off and only lasts an hour, if that. I find that this particular deodorant keeps my armpits feeling sweat free and clean all day. Not only that, but the scent that is in the deodorant keeps surprising you by floating up by your nose at random moments throughout the day, just to say "hi" remind you how impressive it is.
----- Does it really last as long as the full sized bottle? -----
In short, yes, although I can't say I have stood with the large bottle in one hand, and the small in the other, spraying repeatedly for hours to see which wins, spray for spray. I felt I had a travel sized deodorant in my bag, but it didn't run out when I felt it would due to the size. It didn't run out the week after that either, when i thought I would be lucky if I hadn't had to bin it by then due to it only squirting product out after 10 "air" spurts. It lasted weeks longer, the same as the big bottles, so yes, I was wrong with my "yeah right".
----- Would I buy it again? -----
Certainly! Even if it wasn't on offer, I would pop it in my trolley faster than I wack out my coupons at the checkout.
I started using Sure Crystal on a recommendation from a friend, and now I wouldn't use anything else.
I'm not keen on a strong smelling deoderant as I think it interferes with your perfume and can also stay on your clothes after washing.
The scent of this is fresh, and not at all overpowering, and it is a pleasure to use.
Importantly, it really works! If ever I forget to put it on in the morning I really notice the difference.
Personally, I have always preferred a spray deoderant to a roll on, and this product does not leave white marks on your clothes. So many other deoderants claim not to and then do, which I find really frustrating!
I always carry one of the small cans with me in my bag, and have larger versions at home. And I have to say when the product is on offer in the supermarket I always make sure I stock up!
So, I didn't actually mean to buy one of these deodorants, it was kind of an online food shop mistake. I ordered what I though (and what looked like) a full size can of deodorant. Then it arrived I laughed at the size but continued to use regardless as I like the smell. I purchased it on offer at £1.50 for 75ml from Tesco. When I looked further into these deodorants there seems to be a few different ranges and scents, all of which contain "motionsense" technology, which basically means when your body moves then the fragrance is release, quite clever I thought!
The container is roughly as small as a body spray kind of tin, although slightly dipped in the centre which means it feels comfortable and sturdy in your hand. The spray mechanism is unlike a normal spray, it's almost completely covered in an almost rubber panel, with which you press and out comes the spray.
I usually spray on after my morning shower, then pop in my bag for top ups during the day. The spray is lightly floral but not overpowering, it's sweet with almost a watermelon smell to it? The spray dries quickly and doesn't leave a lot of residue like some deodorants do. *The one thing I've found when spraying is that it makes a bit of a cloud, so make sure you have a breeze going through if you are sensitive to sprays or have children around*
I was pleasantly surprised by how long the scent lasted, on a day where I hadn't worn perfume on top I could still smell it's scent by finish of work at 5pm, and not funny smells or sweat spots from myself which is ideal.
Although when it arrived it wasn't what I thought it was, I'm actually very pleasantly surprised with it! I have since bought a few other scents in the same range and been equally pleased. I like the fact it's small enough to fit in my bag to take to work, I've also bought one for my draw at work.
With the adverts for the new compressed antiperspirants for Sure and Dove I thought I would try to buy a can for myself the next time I went to the supermarket. So when I found myself in the beauty aisle of my local Morrisons I picked up this product because I've used the full sized sure can in the past and know that it has always delivered high quality results.
The compressed can is exactly what you get in an ordinary sized one but smaller. You still get the same amount but in a can that's a little bit more convenient to store and easier to carry around. The can is a slightly different shape with a more titled head from where the spray comes out, which I think makes it somewhat easier to spray out of. Similarly, with small hands its just a lot easier for me to use this as sometimes I struggle to stretch my fingers out across the top to get enough pressure to release the spray evenly.
Like most antiperspirants it comes with the claim that it lasts for 48 hours. I've never bothered to test this out as I shower daily, but it has kept the freshness throughout the day. I haven't noticed a full on fragrance, although I use body sprays after applying this so its difficult to tell. The spray from the can is fresh and light smelling though when applying, and there is no sting which is especially good as sometimes I'm prone to putting it on straight out of the shower after having shaved.
I bought this around a month and a half ago and I'm just about reaching the end of the can. It contains 75ml and even if I top up throughout the day it has still lasted longer than I expected. The cost of the can is around the £2 mark which is slightly cheaper than some other brands, but probably more accurately described as 'in the middle'. I don't mind spending this on this because I think its a good product, although I wouldn't like to spend much more than that really. You can get it pretty much anywhere from Boots to your local supermarket as I've seen it around.
I really like this product for its effectiveness and also the convenince it brings. Its easy to transport around if you like to top yourself up throughout the day, and also makes it a lot easier to store on my bathroom shelf which is far too stuffed full of products and verging on collapse anyway. This tucks right in easily to both and its simply a case of taking off the cap and spraying. The fragrance is only really what I would describe as 'fresh', the word aqua being an appropriate choice. It doesn't clump or leave white marks that I've noticed, and is effective throughout the day. I think it lasts slightly less than its big brother, but not enough that I would worry about and only marginally so. I would recommend.
Sure is a really well known brand and it is the first one my hand will reach for if it is on offer. Not that I'm a cheapskate but I have a 'rule' never to pay more than £2 on anti-perspirant. This is currently at £2.09 at Superdrug but I got mine on a buy one get one free at £2.49.
I prefer this condensed bottle as it fits into my gym bag more readily. The shape is better than an ordinary can of spray as it has an indent which makes it easier to hold. The plastic spray button on the top is angled so it is easier to hold in one hand and spray too. I like the lock because it saves having a 'top' on it which I always lose anyway and with the lock, there is no way it can 'go off' in my bag and waste.
The fragrance is fresh, cool and clean and the 'no white marks' gives me confidence to wear my black tee shirt in the gym.
There is no alcohol in this anti-perspirant which is good because that means that it is unlikely to sting - even after shaving.
Personally, I don't see the point of 48 hour active, I mean, who is active and then doesn't shower for 48 hours? I think that's just there to say 'look, I'm so good, I'll keep you dry for 2 days!' Well, whatever, this anti-perspirant DOES keep me dry during the whole day at work or all morning in the gym and that's good enough for me.
The 150ml can will last me a couple of weeks which is pretty good. It does say for underarm use only but I also use it under my ample bosom! Big girls don't have to sweat!
I am a big fan of 'Sure' products as they have always been the main brand I go to for deodorant, be it spray or roll-on. Although I have dabbled with other brands, such as 'Dove', 'Mitchum's' and 'Soft & Gentle', I always return to 'Sure' as I find it is the best product on the market.
I find that I do suffer with excess sweating underneath my arms, and for a while it did knock my confidence and it limited the clothes that I wore to dark colours that wouldn't show any patches. After I'd tried a lot of different brands that claimed to stop this, I just started using more 'Sure' product when spraying deodorant. It stayed on my skin perfect, especially after showering, which other products didn't seem to handle as well.
I like to keep a can of 'Sure' deodorant in my bag for when I'm 'out and about'. So when the compressed cans (75ml) came out, it was a dream for me. For such small packaging, you do get a lot of product. 'Sure' claims that you get the same amount of product as the 150ml cans, and although I'm not sure you get 100% as much as you do with the bigger cans, you do get much more than expected, and you still get the same great smell.
The only way in which I could describe the lovely fragrance that the Crystal Aqua Clear is a very fresh smelling spray. Like some of Sure's other products, although they keep you dry and protected, they don't often smell desirable, however the Crystal Aqua Clear has a clean smell to it - something which I liked as I hadn't tried the normal sized one in green.
This is now my regular deodorant and I often purchase it from Asda or Tesco as they always have some kind of offer on. It RRP's at £2.10 in stores such as Boots and Superdrug, but I can often pick up two 75ml cans for just £3.00.
To conclude, I would highly recommend this product to any woman who already uses 'Sure' or who may even need some convincing. Making sure you spray enough product is key, and you can feel comfortable with the compressed cans that you won't run out any time soon.
After having my son i decided to sign up for a gym membership and try get my old body back. The only issue with this other than getting up off my butt and finding the time with a newborn was how much i sweat. I found it highly embarrassing which put me off going. So i decided while at my local shopping center to pop into Boots and try find a good antiperspirant that would hopefully keep me dry. I came across Sure women compressed crystal aqua clear at only £2 and with it's claims to keep one dry and cover up any odors created from sweating there was nothing to lose plus the added bonus of me being familiar with the brand Sure helped my decision.
It comes in a good compact sized can and was the perfect size for my handbag. It has multiple labels that are quite reassuring to me as a buyer. Not sure if it's because of it's claims or the fact it's called 'Sure'. On the back it has ingredients and warnings.
Using the product.
My first use of this product was at home before circuit training. It's a simple push button that makes the aerosol spray and held from the right distance it didn't leave any white marks that could also be potentially embarrassing. The smell wasn't over powering and there is no other way i can described the smell of this deodorant other than smelling 'clean'. It was cooling on the armpit and the scent lasted well. In fact it lasted until after my workout but with that said it didn't smell as good and didn't cover the sweat smell 100% but it did make me sweat less and has done every time i have used it.
It's a great deodorant and very affordable. It works well and does help keep me dry. The scent leaves you smelling clean and fresh. It isn't shockingly overpowering and lasts well even after a work out.
Overall i'd 100% recommend this product. I won't be switching anytime soon and will be loyal to this Sure deodorant.
I love sure products and i have always used them, as i think they are the best deodorant on the market. They feel clean and fresh when applied. And last all day.I have always bought the small travel size aerosols when i have been on short breaks, but i have always wimped out on taking them away for any length of time because i was scared they wouldnt last for more than a weeks use. Now the clever people at SURE have managed to compress a full aerosol can into a handy flight friendy 100ml can. They claim it will last the same time as a normal big can and i actually thing they are right. Love it well done
I am a big fan of Sure deodorants, with the exception of the Sure Crystal Diamond anti perspirant, and so when I needed a new aerosol I was keen to try out this new Sure compressed anti perspirant as I had watched the adverts on television, and wondered if it was too good to be true. A lot of the supermarkets etc have had this product on offer recently, including Boots where I picked mine up and where it is on offer at £1.40 for this 75ml tin, which according to the packaging of the product, is the equivalent to a regular 150ml aerosol.
I purchased the crystal aqua version, simply because it was one that I liked to purchase in the regular size can and always worked well for me, at keeping me dry and smelling sweet! This sure product claims to offer the same as the regular sized sure products in that, it provides 'incredible white mark protection'. as well as 48 hour sweat protection. I have never been able to comment on the latter of these claims as I have never left it 48 hours before washing, but I can comment on the white mark protection and say that it does live up to its claims as I wear plenty of black tops to work, and I have not seen any of these white marks appear after putting on my top in the morning.
On initial look, you assume that this product really couldn't last you as long as a regular 150 ml aerosol can, but so far so good and I am finding it to last much longer than first anticipated. I love the new size of the product. It is ideal to take with you in your handbag, or in a gym bag and does not take up much room at all. This also makes it a very eco friendly product. I also much prefer the look and the aerosol spray button on this product a lot more than the regular aerosol size.
In terms of fragrance, there is a fresh scent to this product which I like - nothing too extreme but just a fresh scent that makes you feel clean. In terms of keeping me fresh and dry, this product works just as well as the regular size and I don't feel sweaty or sticky when wearing this product on my skin.
All in all, now that I have tried this product, and been impressed with it, I really can't see myself going back to using the regular sized aerosol can, as this is a great fit for my handbag, and if I were to be away for a weekend, it takes up much less room that the more traditional sized aerosol. A great idea for Sure.
I recently purchaed a can of this newly compressed Sure deoderant while it was on special offer in my local Tesco, I believe the special offer was because this is a new concept and I paid £1 for a 75ml can (usual price is around the £2 mark - £2.10 in my local Boots).
The idea here is that the 75ml can contains as much as a standard 150ml can would - it has just been compressed more efficiently to help with reducing waste etc. Very conscientious and a great idea - if it works!
I do usually use Sure deoderants anyway so was already familiar to the brand but this was my first time using one of these new cans. I don't know if I had just picked a dodgy can (judging by other reviews I think it must have been) but I had issues with the nozzle from the start. Mine was not particularly consistent with the way it dispensed the spray and the button seemed to need to be 'pumped' to get it working with any efficiency.
However, once working the deoderant itself was great and as good as it normally is out of a standard size can, no difference in quality of actual product - just the packaging for me.
I think I would try these compressed cans again as the ecological aspect appeals to me and I do believe the product itself is good - no white marks on clothes, no issues with sweat.
I am quite loyal to the Dove deodorants but I am not opposed to trying out new ones now and again. The new compressed deodorants have been advertised quite a lot recently and so I wanted to see if they really worked. The one that I chose to try out was the Compressed Crystal Aqua Clear by Sure Women.
What does the product do?
The product promises to stop you from sweating to leave your armpits dry all day. It claims that it will keep you smelling fresh by preventing any bad odours. The difference with this product is that is has been designed to reduce the amount of gas that is needed for the product to work and so the product is smaller. It promises to be just as effective as the normal sized bottles and to last just as long but it should be better for the environment. The product also promises to protect against white marks on your clothing.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the exact same way as your usual deodorant and even though it's small, you spay the same amount that you normally would. You need to shake the can before use and the hold the can 15cm from the armpit.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a white can which has a pattern down the side and a blue Sure tick. It has the green compressed band across the top and there is some extra information given about the product on the back. It has a white lid which you remove and push down on the dispenser in order to spray the product. The deodorant will cost you around £1.50 and it can be bought from stores such as Superdrug and Boots, large supermarkets and also from a variety of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is much smaller than the original but not as small as a travel bottle. It is really cute and sleek which makes it easy to carry around in your handbag. It would also be going for travelling with because of it's small size but it won't run out quickly like a travel size one does. The product still has a lot of power because the spray and it comes out like it would with a normal deodorant. You can smell the freshness straight away and it is a nice scent which leaves you feeling fresh and clean.
The lovely scent does a good job of masking bad odours and I feel confident when wearing it. It also stops me sweating to some extent although nothing ever manages to stop me completely. When I am wearing a black top, it does minimise the white marks which is can cause and my tops remain mostly clean, even when I put them on in a hurry. I have just finished my can and I would say it more or less lasted as long as the normal can which is what was promised. It also performed as well as the normal sized can.
This deodorant looks small and cute. It performs just as well as the full sized normal can and it lasted just as long too. It also did prevent white marks appearing on my black clothes. So if you like to travel, care about the environment or need to free up some room in your handbag, then you may prefer this product to any full sized one.
I absolutely adore freebies of any sort and am signed up to various research and trial panels, I get to test their products and then tell the company what I think of them.
Who doesn't love a freebie!
About 4 weeks ago, if not more I received a lovely package in the post from one of the consumer panels I am on, it was 2 tins of Sure Compressed deodorant.
Well, I thought.. this is going to be a waste of time - no sooner will I get to form an opinion on this deodorant, than it will be finished - such a small product.
Frankly I was wrong. I received two of these tins of Sure Compressed, and I gave one to my hubby and had one for myself.
Four weeks later, we are both using our spray tins and there is no sign of them running out yet - Wow!
Sure's web site tells us that they have managed to compress the same amount of product into the small can as they do their 150ml can.. I honestly do not have a clue how they do this, I am no product engineer - but they certainly have done just that.
The fragrance I am using is the Crystal Clear Aqua... I don't need to tell you how to use deodrant - but I suppose for arguments sake I will... after a bath/wash/shower when you are thoroughly clean and dry, you spray your armpits with this spray, there is no need to go over the top with the spraying, a light covering of deodorant seems adequate.
In time gone by with most brands of deodorant, you had to make sure that you were very careful when you got dressed, as the deodorant would live a powdery residue on your skin, which would easily transfer onto your clothes. This is not the case with Sure Compressed, it dries instantly and is invisible.
The Crystal Clear Aqua has a nice fresh smell to it, it has not got a strong scent at all, easy to miss really, just a fresh clean smell.
I would confirm that it works effectively, keeping you fresh and not sweaty all day. It apparently is effective for up to 48 hours.
Manufacturers recommendation is not to spray near eyes or onto broken skin..
You can buy this Compressed deodorant for around the £2 mark, it is 75ml in size, in most supermarkets and chemists. It is a new product but very widely available.
I will be buying this when my sample has run out.
(For the record my hubby is impressed too, it has suited him he tells me)
It is alcohol free and dermatologically tested.
I have been very lucky to try this product for free at first i just didn't understand how a small can can have the same amount of product in as the larger cans. but i have been amazed and my sure is still going strong showing no signs of weakness. it still It has long-lasting protection and is alcohol free, pH balanced and dermatologically tested so sensitive on skin.
