Advantages: lasts the whole day, nice smelling

Disadvantages: leaves white marks on clothes

I usually buy just bog standard roll on liquid deodorant, for a while I was using dove but I've also used supermarket and boots own brand versions. I usually go for ones that I like the smell of, I give them a quick sniff in the shop because some can be totally rank. I found recently that my normal deodorants weren't really cutting it any more, I was reapplying them several times a day and especially needed to reapply before and after the gym. I went off hunting for a new deodorant and came across this sure stick, I had used these solid type deodorants years and years ago so I decided id give them another shot.

The deodorant is made by sure who make a massive range of deodorants for men and woman, including liquid ones, solid ones and spray ones. This particular deodorant is a solid stick type and is for women. The packaging is simple, the deodorant container itself is about 4 inches tall with a flat base so it can easily sit on a surface. The colour is mostly white with a bit of blue and says "sure" on the front with a single tick underneath (the sure symbol), the "flavour" is cotton fresh and it states that it offers 48hr protection and has 0% alcohol. The ingredients list is on the back as well as instructions about how to twist the deodorant out of the container.

Application is simple, the deodorant has a clear lid on it and when you first buy it there is also a white coloured plastic cover over the deodorant stick itself, this is easily removed. Initially you may have to turn the bottom of the container to push out more of the deodorant stick (instructions on the back but it is easy to do). The deodorant stick appears white and the texture is almost like a very thin cream, when it goes on your skin it is mostly clear but you can be left with some white as well. The smell is not too overpowering, it is very pleasant and fresh smelling, I'm not sure what exactly "cotton dry" is supposed to smell like but it does kinda remind me of freshly dried clothes from a washing line, maybe thats what they are aiming for! I find one application does me the whole day, which is better than deonderants I have used in the past although it does state it lasts for 48hrs, I usually have a shower everyday so obviously need to reapply it after that, so I can't really say if it lasts for 48hrs.

The only real problem with this deodorant is getting white marks on your clothes, because of the cream like texture it has when it goes on your skin, if you put a top on straight after you've applied it you can very easily get white marks all over it. I usually put the deodorant on after I've put my top on, but I can still sometimes get white marks on the armpits of my clothes.

The cost of this deodorant is about £2.50, slightly more expensive than my normal deodorants, well the store own brand ones for definite, but since it seems to be working well for me at the moment I am willing to pay that price. I am on my second one of these now and have found the last one lasted about 5 or 6 weeks which is pretty good. I will certainly continue buying this in the future as I am very pleased with the results.

Summary: a good deodorant
