Advantages: Effective, Leaves no white marks, Long lasting
Disadvantages: None
Up until a year or so ago I had never used up a deodorant before binning it. I travel a fair bit so when I think one is getting towards the end I would take it away with me, use it for the trip and then throw it there so I did not need to bring it back. This is not good for the environment ? just think of all those still partially full plastic containers scattered around the world ? and it was not good for my wallet, but it is what I had to do given the fact you could not tell how much was left. Enter reason number one as to why I like Sure (or Rexona as the brand is called over here): their see through bottles. They allow you to see exactly how much you have left, and mean I can work out how many more days worth I have left. Most bon.
There is more to this one that its packaging, though ? this is after all a fairly new development, and I was using the make before it was introduced. I also like the fact that it is quick drying ? none of that arm flapping for Sure users as it is gone in less time than it takes to pull on your underwear in a morning. In fact, if I then go and brush my teeth I sometimes cannot remember whether I have already done the deo thing that day ? by this time There is absolutely no physical reminder left and its possible to get confused, like those times you (unintentionally) go out without your knickers on, or wearing two pairs.
Next reason? It is effective! Surely the most important thing with this type of product. Along with the rest of Europe we have been having a heat wave in recent weeks, but it lasts the whole 24 hours it is supposed to even, quite surprisingly, through my stupidly thought out mid summer gym sessions. Sweat might be dripping from my head after 3 hours of cardio. My legs might be glowing and my tummy going clammy, but my underarms stay dry. It is really quite remarkable.
I wear a lot of blue and black clothes, and with some makes this is just asking for some attractive white marks. Not so with S
ure ? assuming you leave it to dry properly (remember, this takes only about 20 seconds) there will be no powdery finish to your outfit in my experience.
Finally, I like the fact that it smells reassuringly clinical which automatically makes me think it will work when I get a whiff of it. I am also comforted by the fact that it contains only 5 ingredients ? E-numbers etc are not bad for your armpits the way they are bad for your insides, but it is still heartening to know they are not needed for a useful, well working product. And, although they add that ?do not apply to broken or irritated skin? line, I am happy to confirm that unlike some brands, this one does not hurt even when used 2 seconds after shaving. So yay for that.
I went to my local equivalent of Tesco on Saturday and while searching high and low for an eyelash comb I stumbled across the deodorant aisle. If you think the UK has a stupid amount of choices, you should see this place. I like trying new products on the whole, but deodorant is different. It took me a while to find one I liked (and one that liked me) but now I have I will stick with it until (heaven forbid) they discontinue the line. It gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
Priced at £1.08 in Tesco, and available pretty much anywhere deodorants are sold. Definitely worth a try, even if you are content with your regular brand.
