Sure Women Crystal Clear Aqua Roll-on Deodorant
I used to be much more brand loyal when buying deodorant as I can sometimes have a bad reaction, and there is nothing worse then eczema type rash under your arms in the summer months. However I have been more adventurous recently and this has been on my shopping list. The product can be bought for around £1 - £2.
The product has obviously been 'revamped' as this product boldly claims to work for 48 hours. The silver bottle stands on it's head - which is something I find useful, so that you don't need to faff around getting the roller ball wet with the product.
The product states it has no alcohol, and I have never had issues of any reaction or stinging with this deodorant personally. But to be fair I have been reacting less in my old age - this could be because of the abuse I have put my skin through, or the fact that companies have started to use less irritants, I may never know.
The scent of the product is nice - kind of musky, not flowery, but also not too masculine. I goes on, as many others do, with a roller ball. The deodorant can take a while to dry - I find it dries quicker if my armpits are totally dry, rather than a bit damp if I have dried myself too quickly (so those day I hit 'snooze' too many times it can take a while longer). It doesn't take any longer than many other deodorants to dry.
It has sometimes left white marks on my clothes but this is probably because I sometimes put them on while the product is damp.
Now for the important bit - the bottle states '48h' which I can only assume the scientists at Unilever think this will work for 48 hours. Well not for me. Don't get me wrong I have at least one bath a day - each morning, and often more. So it wouldn't get the chance, but it does seem to last less time then they think it will. I mean it might last that long if you were to stay perfectly still, in a cold room - but not on a 'normal' day. Over the course of a day when I have been for example at work or university, I will want a bath when I get in, or at bed time. I mean you couldn't smell me from the next room, but I wouldn't consider myself to feel 'fresh'.
Overall I feel the deodorant is on the good side of average - I can't see how it would last for two days, but I can't imagine not having a bath, or wash for two days either. It gets 4*'s from me.
Im not loyal to any particular deodorant brand and tend to buy whichever is on offer at the time but I do tend to wear a lot of black tops so an anti perspirant that promises no white marks is ideal. So when I saw Sure clear aqua crystal on offer for 80p I jumped at the chance to buy it.
This roll on, like most roll ons comes in a bullet shaped bottle that stands on its head so there is always plenty of product on the ball ready to use. The bottle is silver coloured with a clear sticker on the front saying that its Sure for women and it offers 48 hour protection. Im not sure if it really does offer 48 hour protection because I have never risked leaving it this long without reapplying. On the back there is a peal-able sticker that lists all the ingredients and states that this under the unilever brand.
When applying this product I have found that it leaves some very thick patches of deodorant which I often have to wipe of the excess with a tissue, like most roll ons it also takes a while to dry so you have to wait about five minutes before you can put your top on which can be very annoying.
This product has a pleasant smell that isnt too strong, so mixes well with any scented body lotions or perfumes. The deodarant itself works very well and I haven't noticed any sweating with this product. As promised it leaves no white marks even on black clothing, so at the end of the day my tops still look and smell fresh.
I have always used sure deodrant as I find it is reliable and a reasonable price for great deodrants. I often wear spray deodrant just because you don't have to wait for it to dry before putting your clothes on like you do with roll on deodrant.
I bought this roll on deodrant in Crystal Clear from Asda for £2.00. It comes in a 50ml container and claims to provide 48 hour protection. Personally, I don't think any of the deodrants last that long, but it does last me all day on a 12 and a half hour shift rushing around. This sure deodrant is also 0% alcohol which means you shouldn't get any stinging applying it following shaving (i don't).
The ingredients that the deodrant is made up of are:
Aqua , Aluminum Zirconium Pentachlorohydrate , Glycerin , Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil , Steareth-2 , Parfum , Steareth-20 , Potassium Lactate , Citric Acid , Benzyl Alcohol , Benzyl Benzoate , Benzyl Cinnamate , Benzyl Salicylate , Butylphenyl Methylpropional , Citronellol , Geraniol , Hexyl Cinnamal , Hydroxycitronellal , Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde , Limonene , Linalool.
The deodrant is simple to use. You simply unscrew the cap and roll over the underarm area. It is also a lot smaller than spray deodrants so it is perfect to pop into your handbag and take with you out for the day or to work. The deodrant smells fresh and clean and the fragrance is long lasting.
Over the years I've tried many many different roll ons and never been truely satisfied. I found that the anti-perspirant effect just didn't last long enough. So much so that I resorted to buying mens deodorants. I'd apply the roll on in the morning and by mid afternoon I'd be noticing slight 'smelly armpit odour'.
About a year ago I did a market research study to test this product, it was a success story I would not purchase any other roll on deodorant now. The scent is pleasant but more importantly the anti-perspirant effect lasts all day and well into the evening. I cant say it doesn't leave any marks at all on you clothes because I dont think there truely is a deodorant out there that doesn't, but it is quick drying, so provided you give it a little bit of time after you apply before you get dressed, you should be able to avoid this problem.
Price wise, in the main stores/pharmacies it costs around £1.89 but I'm a savvy shopper and if like me you look around that bargain/discount stores you can pick this up (and get well stocked) for £1 only which compared to others is an absolute baragain especially as it really works.
Personally I prefer spray deodorants to roll ons. But I always feel the need to have one as there quite small and handy. I've always been a fan of sure deodorants as there not that expensive and always have nice fresh smells to them. The roll on also states that it has 24 hours lasting protection.
Using the roll on is very simple just screw off the lid and roll on your underarms. The roller will move allowing the deodorant to come out and go on your skin. I think the actual deodorant comes out quite thickly and takes a few moments to dry.
The deodorant is 0% alcohol so if your anything like me - don't think - so you shave your underarms put some deodorant on and face the stinging, this is perfect for you. No stinging!
I also chose this roll on as its very small so I can leave it in my handbag and reapply if I feel the need to.
It comes in a 50ml silver packaging with the logo on front so it's not hard to miss. I picked it up for around £1.99 from boots. I have not seen it anymore expensive else where.
The only thing with the roll on is that I've not had it last around 24 hours, maybe around 6.
If you like smelling fresh and clean then this is the roll on for you, small enough to fit into most handbags, quick and simple to apply and also quite cheap to buy.
I got this anti perspirant as a freebie from my local Superdrug with a voucher I received through the post. They sell at approximately £1.89 depending on where you buy it from. The Sure anti perspirant is sold in a little bullet shaped bottle in silver plastic. The front of the bottle informs the customer that it is Sure for women clear aqua crystal anti perspirant roll on and contains no alcohol. It also has 48h on the front of the bottle which I took to meaning that this is one of the new fangled deodorants that are supposed to last for 48 hours. Does anyone actually try this? The back of the bottle has a small peel able label which gives a list of ingredients in several languages.
The bottle stands on its lid which I think is a good idea, it means when you are nearing the end you don't have to balance it upside down to let it drain down to the roller ball. There is a small sticker on the lid that just says invisible meaning that it wont leave any marks on your clothing.
When i unscrewed the lid and took a sniff I had to double check I had picked the correct bottle up, it smells just like Nivea! I don't know if Sure and Nivea are connected in any way but this anti perspirant smells exactly like Nivea in my opinion which is very nice.
The roller ball is quite large and the actual anti perspirant seems quite thick. I found in order to make it come out I had to roll it quite hard under my arms. After using this I found my armpits stayed wet and sticky for ages, there was no way I could get dressed straight after applying it.
Once it had dried it left my skin feeling soft and smooth, some deodorants I've tried have left a powdery substance on my skin but with this there was nothing.
The first day I wore the Sure Aqua 48hiurs anti perspirant was a work day and it was a particularly warm day too. I hadn't been at work a couple of hours when I realised that my arm pits were feeling sticky. Now as I said it was a warm day but I had only been at my desk for 2 hours! I gave myself a very discreet sniff and was relieved that there was no smell. However my underarms were feeling decidedly wet, it felt sticky and uncomfortable. Needless to say I made an excuse and had a very early lunch.
I did try the Sure on another occasion to give it a fair chance but I made sure I was at home that day. I found I had the same problem as before. It took an age to dry and within a couple of hours my armpits were feeling decidedly sweaty! I didn't use it again it ended up in the bin.
The only positive thing I can say about it is that it left no marks on either of my tops even a black one so that element of it does work well. As for keeping me fresh and dry well it just didn't!
I cant recommend the Sure clear aqua crystal anti perspirant. It was without doubt the most useless anti perspirant I have ever used. Even Tesco Value kept me dry and fresh all day, although that one does stain clothes after a while.
I cant possibly see how this would keep an armpit sweet for 48 hours, more like 48 minuets.
I have always found that Sure are very good for deodorant, they are my personal favourite even if they are a little more expensive than some other brands.
I first tried Sure this summer when I went on holiday as I thought I would need a deodorant that was slightly stronger, even if it did not smell as fragranced. The advert on television for this deodorant states that it gives 24 hour protection - what could go wrong?!
To use the deodorant you simply screw off the lid and swipe the ball across your under arms a couple of times and the deodorant is applied. The ball is perfect as it means you have to move it to be able to get deodorant and it cannot leak out everywhere. It is gentle enough to use after shaving your under arms which is perfect as most deodorants I find are too harsh.
There is a very clean soapy scent which is noticed once on your skin which makes you feel quite fresh. I would say that this covers and nasty sweat smells quite well!
I favouritise this deodorant as it dries quickly, meaning you can put your clothes on almost straight away. I also feel that despite knowing that I have sweated a little, you can only smell the deodorant which gives me a little confidence.
The only flaw is that I do not personally agree that it holds for 24 hours, but then again I never go 24 hours without showering. On holiday I was quite active going for runs along the beach every morning in the heat and the deodorant kept quite well, mind you.
The deodorant comes in a weird shaped white bottle, as you can see from the picture. The cap of the deodorant is on the bottom so the liquid is easier to apply. After screwing off the lid you will see the roller ball which is used for application. There is the Sure logo on the front in blue or pink, dependant on the scent you go for and ingredients, etc are all listed on the back.
The deodorant is around 50ml and mine has lasted around 4 months so far and by the feel of it, there is still a lot of life left in it!
On the back there is a warning about irritated or cracked skin - it is advised not to use on these area's as they can become more inflamed or infected.
The product costs £1.50 in Tesco's but there is usually an offer to knock the price down a little. I am sure that there is usually offers on, but you would have to shop around the various stores to find one suitable.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for confidence that a deodorant will do as it claims. The scent is subtle but fresh and clean which is lovely and it will keep you dry for a long time.
I am more fond and prefer roll on deodrants to spray cause they don't leave as much mess, they're long lasting and they are the right size for handbags of all sizes.
The good thing about this is that it is 0% alcohol, so if you girls, forget to shave your armpits the night before, and end up doing it first thing in the morning (something which I do quite often myself) and you apply this straight afterwards there is no stingy pain, so it is a lot more comfortable, than applying a non alcohol deodrant.
It doesn't leave white marks in colored clothing, however if you apply too much it can leave white marks in black clothing (but only under the arm pit area) but it does wash after you wash your shirt so it won't stay on forever.
And yes, it does last a long period of time, but if you are doing something that requires a lot of sweaty work then you're going to need to re-apply!
It is sold in superdrug, Boots, Savers, wilkinsons and various supermarkets and it sold around the prices of one pound (if it is on offer) and two pounds, but it doesn't cost anymore than two pounds.
Overall, this is a good deodrant and I would recommend to all girls and women out there and the best thing girls is that you can either take it in your handbag or you can leave it at home the choice is yours!
When it comes to deodorants I'm not particularly fussy - so long as I stay dry and odour free, I'm happy. As a result, I have no particular brand loyalty, and tend just to buy whatever takes my fancy or happens to be on offer at the time .
Last time I needed to restock, I purchased Sure Roll On Crystal Clear, which was on offer at £1 in my local supermarket, usually costing £1.72 at full price . I actually think thats rather expensive, as many reliable deodorants usually cost less than that at full price . The packaging wasn't particularly jazzy , and I won't comment on it beyond saying I do like the fact that this deodorant can be balanced ball down, keeping the ball moist and ready for use, and allowing you to use the last little bit of the product .
This deodorant is alcohol free, and claims to give incredible white mark protection. I have to say white marks are something I don't encounter, generally as I deodorise before getting dressed. There is no particular scent to this deodorant, beyond a slight powdery clean smell. I know some people prefer to have a fragrance, but sometimes something bland is good as it won't interfere with the smell of other fragranced products.
The rolling mechanism is smooth, and the deodorant dries in a couple of minutes. This is slow compared to spray deodorants, but at least there are no nasty fumes . I find it does not leave my underarms powdery, so I certainly do think this would prevent white marks, and I found that a single application lasted me a good 12 hours.
Overall, this deodorant did the job it was intended to do, so no complaints here. It's not the most interesting of products, but it kept me fresh and dry, so 4 stars .
To me getting the right deodorant is a real must as I am always paranoid about not smelling fresh and feeling confident.
I used to be an aerosol girl but as soon as my little boy was diagnosed with asthma and knowing myself how aerosols effect you the spray was out and the roll on was in, only problem was I couldn't find a roll on that lived up to my expectations.
I was at Tesco on a mission to get a new roll on deodorant having found so many that didn't live up to my expectations I wasn't really looking for anything in particular just a deodorant that caught my eye. I then found what I was looking for Sure woman crystal, Ok the first thing that caught my eye was the price tag £1.00 on offer and the second was that it promised "incredible white mark protection" being someone that wears a lot of black white mark protection was a must so I placed two in my basket.
The deodorant bottle is a nice bullet shape container, small. compact and easy to hold. The bottle is designed to stand upside down so that the deodorant is always on the ball eliminating the need to shake and roll the ball a couple of times to lubricate it before applying, this for me is now a must have feature for any future deodorants. The bottle contains 50ml of deodorants which I believe is standard for most deodorants and certainly is for sure roll on deodorants.
The lid has a click feature Which holds the lid more secure when screwed on. Can not say that I have had a problem with roll on lids before so this feature for me is not essential. The deodorant also states that it contains 0% alcohol, Incredible white mark protection, Is an anti perspirant and last 24 hrs. Sounds just like what I am looking for if it does what it says on the container.
I paid £1.00 for the Sure woman crystal 50ml on offer in Tesco and believe that I have seen this on similar offers on occasions before. The price when not on offer is £1.61 which I feel is still a very good price, it is not the cheapest product out there but again it is not the most expensive and is for me a well known brand so had it not been on offer I would have still been tempted. Other retailers are selling this product for around the same price £1.61-£1.69 mark and is widely available.
Well after getting my deodorant home I had a shower and couldn't wait to try. My first impression was that it was a lot wetter and thinner in consistency than other roll on deodorants that I have tried but for me that only made me feel more confident that I would be protected for longer.
The smell is very fresh and subtle. I have two problems when it comes to deodorant the first is I do not feel confident if the product has no fragrance at all as I do not personally feel that the product can protect against sweat if it doest have something to mask the smell, and secondly I do not like anything that is too strong that it mixes with my perfume and creates a sickly smell. So this for me was perfect and something that I didn't expect to have a lot of faith in.
This Product claims to give 24 hour protection. This is one thing that I do not agree with. I have found that it lasts longer than many roll on I have tried but not close to 24 hrs. It defiantly lasts 10 hrs as this is my working day so I am impressed by that and for this point alone I would purchase the product again. I tend to almost go straight upstairs when I get home after saying hello to everyone to get change, I find the need at this point to reapply the deodorant. if im in for a while and then go out a bit later I do not feel confident that the deodorant would give me enough protection so I reapply before going out again.
The product claims to give white mark protection and as someone that wears a lot of black I can confirm that this is 100% fact. I have never noticed or had to worry about white marks on my tops since using this deodorant and being someone that has a lot to worry about all the time and doesn't have enough hours in the day as it is not having to change my top three times in the morning makes this a god send.
The sure range comes in many different fragrances and tackle may different problems and out of the couple of I have tried this works far better than others.
it contains 0% alcohol
50ml of deodorant
I am very happy with this product. It does not deliver all that it promises but enough to meet my needs. It leaves my under arms smelling fresh and smooth to the touch and in turn leaves me feeling confident.
I would purchase this product again and give it a 7/10 for performance
I have minus some points as it does not deliver all that it promises, the liquid is quite thin and collects around the rim when applying if not wiped this will then leak out of the lid and takes a couple of minutes to dry but other than this it is all I could ask for from a deodorant
*Sure Women Crystal Clear Aqua*
I am usually quite impressed with Sure products so thought I would give this new product a try.
It has a new design which means that the deodorant is constantly flowing down to the ball. This is meant to stop the problem that traditional roll-ons have of drying up. The deodorant fits nicely in my hand, and is a good size to carry around as it isn't very big. If you hold the bottle up to the light you can see how much deodorant you have left which is quite useful!
I love the smell of this deodorant. It smells fresh and clean and not sweet, which I prefer. The new design works well at keeping the roll-on working effectively. However, I find that once applied to the skin it takes ages to dry. It also comes out quite thick and on a couple of occasions I have had to wipe some of the deodorant off. One other problem I have had is that because the deodorant is quite thick it ends up being around the ball, and so when I screw the lid back on it ends up sqidging onto the outside of the bottle so I have to wipe it off.
I buy this product for approximately £1.65 from the local supermarkets. I think this is a fair price for a Sure product.
On the packaging it states that it has white mark protection, and from my experience this product works well at not getting white marks on my clothes.
However, it also states that it is '24HR' which I have found isn't true in my case. By the end of the day you can still smell the deodorant, which is nice, but there is also hints of being sweaty and needing to wash again!
Although I love the smell, and size of this product, I don't think I will buy it again because I have found other deodorants work better for me.
I used to use aerosol deodorants as they were easy to reapply, seemed to give good protection from sweat and smell.
Then Mr M started moaning about being choked every morning. So I started to look at roll-ons. Almost anything for an easy life, eh.
Sure seemed to be a good place to start. It claims to offer 24 hour anti-perspirant cover, white mark protection, and a handful of different scents. I went for the Crystal Aqua as it had a fresh smell that wasn't too strong.
A little word on the packaging. Some roll-ons sit on their bottom, with the roll-ball facing upwards - the traditional way. Sure doesn't. The roll-ball sits at the base, so the deodorant is always in contact with the ball. This means that you don't get dry spots which drag on your skin as you try to use it. A gold star.
During the life of the roll-on tub, I never noticed any white marks on my clothes (for those that don't know what I mean, some deodorants can stain the cloth around your arm pits white, where the deodorant rubs on it) so that was another gold star.
The smell was fresh, like I said, but it certainly didn't overpower my perfume. In fact, after application, I don't think you could smell it at all. Another gold star.
I attempted some medium exercise (for me, that's walking fast - trying to keep up with the woofers!) and not once did I feel sweat being produced under my arms. It may have moistened under the band of my bra, but hey, no-one's come up with deodorant that suits that area yet! Another gold star.
How many is that now? Four?
That leaves the deodorant side. The bit that prevents you from smelling. Very important.
Here, I think it needs some improvement. Sorry.
I would apply it first thing in the morning, as you do. I'd smell fine when I changed after work (yes I have a habit of checking my pits! Last thing a woman wants is to have smelly pits) but when it was time to head for bed, an aroma was detectable.
I wouldn't say I smelt bad, but it did leave me self-conscious. No star.
Summary: an above average roll-on, but by no means perfect. If you shower twice a day, or are lucky to not suffer with body-smells, this deodorant will be perfectly adequate for you
I suffer with Asthma and was finding it hard to breath after using 'Sure Crystal Clear Spray Deodrant' in the mornings, so thought to myself i must buy a roll-on deodrant when this runs out as the strong mist of spray is really choking me in the mornings.
So i popped to Tesco that morning and was browsing the roll-on deodrants when i came across 'Sure Crystal Clear Aqua'. I was happy to see this as the crystal clear range means it wont leave any white marks on your tops. Which was the only reason i used to by the crystal clear spray anyway.
Even better to see was that it was reduced to just £1.00 at Tesco, normal price being £1.63. This is for a 50ml bottle, which i thought was a great price so popped two into my basket.
The design of this deodrant is well thought out as the roll on stick points down and sits on the shelf on its lid. So the liquid inside is already waiting on the ball of the stick, so you can apply the deodrant straight away without having to shake it like most other roll-ons available.
The packaging is a simple and clear design it has a small picture of a T-shirt that reads - white mark protection. It Also says on the front of the roll-on 24 hour Anti-Perspirant roll on 0% alcohol.
There is one warning on the rear of the roll-on which is not to apply on irritated or damaged skin.
Aqua, Aluminum Zirconium Pentachlorohydrate, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Steareth-2, Parfum, Steareth-20, Citric Acid, Potassium Lactate, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool
The reasons i have only given this product 2 stars is because the fragrance of the roll-on isnt very strong, its quite a netural smell really. And unfortunatly does have to be applied more often than once in 24 hours. I found that after applying the deodrant i had to reapply after around 6-7 hours later as i didnt feel or smell as fresh anymore!
Like it claims it didnt stain any of my tops with white chalky marks like others do. But i did find that after applying to my under arms it stayed wet for quite sometime, i found myself flapping my arms around trying to dry it off quicker! I'd stay it takes at least 4 mins to dry up completley. Which is quite a while, espically if your in a rush! Which most people are these days.
So overall apart from the design of the bottle i was quite disappointed in this product and wont be buying anymore.
A few years ago, my usual 'Mum' deodorant decided to go from using plastic to glass bottles, exactly why, I'm not sure, but I found this quite annoying as I never felt I was able to get the maximum use out of the product as I could neither squeeze the bottle to get the last of the deodorant out, nor store it upside down to get full use, so I decided it was time to try something new.
This is when I discovered Sure women Crystal Clear Aqua. Immediately the first thing that stood out to me was the fact it was already stored 'upside down' so the deodorant would flow towards the roller-ball naturally and I wouldn't have to tire my wrist shaking the contents down towards it. This at least meant I felt like I was using the full product and getting my moneys worth rather than the last couple of millilitres going to waste.
I also like the fact that it is a 'clear' deodorant. I can't stand discovering halfway through the day I've been walking around with white patches on the bottom of my clothes from where they've moved against the deodorant. This fortunately has not happened to me whilst using this deodorant.
What I would dispute about the labelling though, is that on the front it also says it is an anti-perspirant. This is not something I can agree with as I have noticed several occasions whilst at work where I have felt damp, nothing obvious fortunately and I do admittedly work in a rather hot environment where I find myself moving about very quickly a lot, but still this contradicts the claim made on the label.
Otherwise, this deodorant has been all good with me. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and actually leaves my armpits feeling rather soft and the deodorant itself has no strong fragrance to interfere with any other perfume I may to choose to wear. It usually retails at around £1-£1.69 depending on whether it's on offer or where you find it, good value I would say - especially if you get it at the cheaper price!
A 24 hour anti-perpirant roll-on with 0% alcohol and white mark protection /
