When it comes to deodorants I'm not particularly brand loyal and also I tend to flit between roll ons, aerosols and solid cream sticks. Two of the main brands I do always seem attracted towards each time when purchasing are Sure and Dove as I feel on the whole these two brands rarely let me down.
This review focuses on my experiences of using the Sure Women Nutritive Skin Care roll on..
*~*Price, packaging & availability*~*
Packaging wise this is very minimal and simplistic in form as are most roll on deodorants these days regardless of brand. Sure Women Nutritive comes presented in a 'bullet' shaped designed plastic packaging which is in a feminine coloured pale pink/ lavender, and though nothing overly exciting to look at it still retains an aesthetically pleasing appearance and stands out on the shelf amongst the similar items which are in their white white based uniform colours.
Price wise I picked this up from my local haunt of Superdrug where it normally sets me back around the £1.09 mark, though the price does tend to vary depending on where you choose to shop. For a standard size of 50 ml I deem this price quite reasonable as it is no more or less than products of a similar nature.
Availability wise, this can be found in most large supermarkets, chemists, and most stores which sell deodorants as Sure is quite a prominent figure as far as deodorants as concerned so is readily available at many outlets.
*~*My experience of using this*~*
To access the deodorant there is an easy to unscrew/ screw on lid which is situated at the base and has a flattened edge underneath which makes the product upright standing if you should so wish it to be stored in this way. I always find that storing it standing upwards is the easiest way to use it as the liquid runs downwards making access easier when applying.
On removing the lid we are met with a delicate feminine aroma which has a sporty vibe to it (quite fresh), but primarily the fragrance is floral based and is very pretty but not too over powering that it would take the onus away from any perfume that was being worn at the same time.
The deodorant flows easily and quickly from the 'bullit' shaped tube onto the integrated plastic ball which then transfers to the underarm area with ease.
I find that not much of this product is needed as a few strokes seem enough to suffice and the deodorant feels cool against my skin though this particular roll on has not stung or caused any soreness unlike similar products.
I have nothing but praise for this Sure roll on as it glides on smoothly and dries fairly fast. There is no flapping my arms about like a lunatic in a morning in a mad attempt to dry this as within a few minutes of applying it dries by itself.
The roll on has a pretty floral fragrance as mentioned, though once this has dried on my skin it's less noticeable and only the faintest hint of aroma can be detected throughout the day when moving my arms about. Personally I like this, as long as a deodorant is doing it's job and working then I don't need overpowering waves of fragrance hitting my nostrils every time I move so for me the delicate aroma is just perfect, though if preferring something stronger scented then it may not be ideal for everyone.
I lead a busy life which includes walking several miles per day on the school run and running chores as I don't drive so a deodorant that can deliver is paramount. I like Sure and as it's advertising goes it doesn't let you down..which I can vouch for as I know that when I apply this first thing in a morning it keeps my underarm area fresh and dry until my evening bath/ or shower. Though this claims to give 48 hour protection I cannot comment here as I don't go that long between washing though as it gives a top performance for the 10 hours (approx) that I use it per day I can imagine it to give 48 protection (though sorry I'm not willing to test it for that long).
I like this roll on as it glides on with ease and doesn't drag my skin or make it feel sore or uncomfortable (which as ladies will be aware can be delicate after shaving). The cream is soft on my skin and feels almost moisturising when dried and doesn't cause my skin to feel taut like I have experienced in the past.
I really like this roll on but my only negative - if that's what you can call it - is the fact it just doesn't seem to last long at all. Despite this being a reasonable 50 ml in size it seems to get used up far quicker compared to other brands of the same size which means me having to buy this more frequently than other brands.
I really like the fact this dries within a few minutes as well as it is something I remember for future purchases so this is probably one of the main reasons I've used it so many times in the past.
That is my only bug bear though as performance wise it's one of the best I've used, offers full protection, contains 0% alcohol and is soft against my skin..what more could I ask for?
I had a favourite deodorant which I used to use religiously until I spotted this deodorant on offer for a pound and decided to give it a go.
The first thing I noticed about this deodorant was the delicate pink shade of the packaging and the shape of the product. The deodorant tapers up at one end which means it fits your hand perfectly, making it very easy to apply.
Sure promise 24 hour Anti-perspirant roll on protection which is a big claim and they also report that the special vitamin complex within the deodorant enhances your underarm skin which can become dry and sore due to shaving, clothes rubbing, etc.
The first thing which struck me upon my initial application was the smell of the deodorant, for something so small I found the smell to be quite strong and powerful. The fragrance is hard to describe, it's a fruity floral mix and is reminiscent of a body spray but as the deodorant dries the smell isn't overpowering. The deodorant is very simple to apply and glides on clearly; however, be prepared to wait quite a few minutes for the deodorant to dry. Compared to other roll on deodorants this one certainly takes that little big longer to dry.
The deodorant itself performs well and keeps me feeling dry and fresh all day. I have tested the deodorant out doing normal day to day activities as well as an energetic Zumba class and I have found the deodorant has worked well; however, my underarms felt a little sticky after the Zumba class but they weren't wet and there was certainly no unpleasant odour. I have also used the deodorant over the festive party season and I'm pleased to report there were no unwanted white deodorant marks on my little black dress.
The deodorant also lives up to it's claim that it enhances your underarm skin. I have found that some deodorants after shaving can leave your underarm a little sore or dry looking; however, this deodorant has left my underarms feeling smooth and soft.
The price of the deodorant really does vary depending on where you shop, I was fortunate enough to pick it up for a pound whereas I've seen some Supermarkets offer it at buy two for three pounds.
Overall I would give this deodorant a four star rating, it performed well under pressure and has a nice fragrance which lasts all day and the only thing that lets it down is it's drying time.
Sure Women Nutritive is a roll-on anti-perspirant t with a twist.....
Now I picked this up not because of the 'twist' part I will tell you about later ew I know the suspense! But I got it because it was on offer for £1! That's usually how I work. I favour roll on anti-perspirant over sprays because I had a rash under my arms for years and once it cleared up the doctors suggested it could be spray anti-perspirant causing it so I have stuck to roll-ons ever since and have been rash free for around 5 years yay for me!
So here is the twist.....
This anti-perspirant is made to enhance the condition of your under arm by 'nourishing and enriching' my skin apparently! I know that wasn't a very exciting twist was it but it's an added extra which you don't get with other anti-perspirants.
The roll on itself stands on it's lid so the roll a ball is good to go when you want to use it as the liquid is already on it. The lid has a click function on it so you know it is sealed properly and the liquid will not dry up inside. It is alcohol free so you can use it straight after shaving without it stinging, I hate it when it stings! The fragrance is light and I would describe it as like the smell of Johnson's baby wash, the pink one. Quite pleasant and not over powering. This one is actually my favourite smelling anti-perspirant by far.
The bottle says that the anti-perspirant works for 24 hrs personally I apply anti-perspirant t in a morning and a night after showering however I do find with this anti-perspirant that sometimes I can feel a bi 'damp' in the old armpit area about 7hrs at work so I wouldn't say for me it would last 24 hours.
I will give this anti-perspirant 4 stars because it's my favourite anti-perspirant but it does not last as well as others I have used.
Sure Women Nutritive Antiperspirant Roll-on
Description: Brand: Sure / Type: Antiperspirants / Deodorants - Roll-on
It was actually Mr Siamese who picked this deodorant up for me on a shopping trip recently. He paid £1.80 for it, but I have just read an earlier review where the author managed to pick this up on special offer so it may be worth keeping an eye out for it if you want to try it.
Having said that, I was a little disappointed with this brand, so probably wouldn't recommend that you go out of your way to pick some up! I am quite lucky and don't really suffer from excess sweatiness, but like all of us, I do like to feel fresh and fragrant all day long.
The deodorant comes in a 50ml plastic roll on which is designed to sit upside down, so that the contents are always ready to apply. This is useful as it is quite annoying when you get the the last bit of a roll on deodorant and have to shake it to get it to the top.
The deodorant seems quite thick which means that when you apply it, it is very sticky and takes a while to dry. This might be okay if you had plenty of time to wander around with your arms out but pretty annoying if you want to get dressed immediately and go!
The fragrance is quite light and fresh and very pleasant. However, it seems to fade quite quickly and also, I noticed that it leaves white marks on clothing, which is an unforgivable sin in my opinion!
This deodorant did leave me dry but didn't do much else. I didn't feel as fresh as I do when using other brands and the fragrance faded too quickly for my liking. I became irritated when waiting for it to dry and this quickly moved to annoyance when it left white marks on my clothing. I won't be buying this again, not even if it is on special offer!
When it comes to deodorant, I generally prefer roll-ons than sprays and generally go for whichever brand is on offer. Just lately, I have been feeling a little less confident about how fresh I was smelling towards the end of a working day and considered shelling out for a super strength deodorant for extra reassurance. I was undecided whether to shell out over a fiver for Sure's maximum strength variety when I noticed this new deodorant, Sure Nutritive.
Obviously, Nutritive sports the Sure branding and I decided to give a standard strength deodorant a shot before going for the hardcore versions if necessary. At the time of purchase, I picked this up for just 99p on promotion at Morrisons but it currently costs £1.67 for a standard 50ml roll on, so certainly far cheaper than the max strength version.
The packaging is very pink and feminine looking and follows the trend of being stored in an 'upside-down' position with the lid at the bottom. This seems to help with application as the deodorant comes out easily and doesn't suffer from a sticky ball at all! On application, the deodorant does seem slightly thicker than other brands and it does take a while to dry properly as it seems to create quick a thick layer on my skin. This isn't unpleasant feeling, it just means that I have to apply it before getting dressed to avoid stickiness and marked clothing.
I'm not sure what message Sure are trying to put across by calling this 'Nutritive' as I don't really know what that means. It is alcohol free and, despite suffering from sensitive skin, haven't experienced any reaction to using this deodorant even after shaving. To be honest, I'm not keen on the current trend for deodorants to be multi-functional - claims that they can reduce armpit hair and suchlike - I just want them to stop me smelling like a bear's behind.
In that respect, I have been completely impressed with this particular offering from Sure. I have had used brands recently with mixed results so perhaps I am smellier than the average person?! Since using Nutritive, I am much more confident about my personal hygiene, even towards the end of a long and stressful day at the office. I have never had any occasion where I've felt anything less than fresh and clean so this certainly seems a worthy addition to the Sure range and is a product that I'll be buying again, even at full price.
As well as being effective at the primary task of keeping me sweat free, I absolutely adore the fragrance of this deodorant. The scent is totally in keeping with the pink, girly image of the packaging. It is very floral and feminine and when I take my clothes off I always get a whiff of this and realise just how much I like the scent. It could easily be passed off as a perfume if the fragrance was stronger during use. If anybody knows a perfume brand that smells like this particular deodorant, please let me know as I would love to cover myself in this lovely scent!
If you're looking for a feminine smelling, effective and good value deodorant, Sure Nutritive comes highly recommended by me.
I bought this product recently at my local Tesco store. I bought it because I tend to sweat quite heavily and have found Sure deoderants to be quite successful in the past. Having said this I did not find this effective at all and only a few hours later I have noticed myself begining to smell!! I do not feel at all confident with this product and will not use it again.
It does glide on to your skin easily and there is a nice floral fragrance to it, but if you are someone who tends to sweat quite heavily then this product is not for you. It also takes a while to dry too, which if you find your time limiting as I do in the morning it can be a bit of a pain.
I think personally I need something that will give me the confidence to work all day without feeling paranoid about body odour!
Of all the deodorants I have tried, the 'sure' range of deodorants appears to be the one that lasts. I seem to find that after so long using the same deodorant, its effectiveness diminishes, however 'sure' deodorants seem so far, not to follow the same pattern.
I admit, that I usually prefer and use aerosol deodorants, simply because I find them much quicker in the morning when heading off to work, however when the hot weather comes I do feel that the roll on deodorants often provide much needed protection.
During the hot weather period a few weeks ago, I decided to puchase the Sure nutritive 24hour anti- perspirant deodorant roll on in my local tesco for £1.62. It comes in an 50ml pink bottle, with the roll on part at the bottom of the bottle, as opposed to being traditionally at the top, and it is aimed at women customers.
It claims on the front of this deodorant that is contains no alcohol. In regards to its 'nutritive' name, this sure deodorant includes a special vitamin complex which is meant to condition your underarm, especially after it has endured shaving/waxing etc.
Upon first use, I have found this deodorant very easy to use, and it glides over the skin effortlessly. It has a lovely clean, almost baby scent smell, and I can still continue to smell it during the day.
In terms of its effectiveness at keeping me dry, I have to say that I find it really does work under intense heat. During that hot spell of weather I did not smell even the slightest whiff of a bad odour from my underarms, and I felt that is kept me dry for the most part, but certainly clean and fresh. After sitting out in the sun, my underarms did get slightly moist, but I could still smell the fresh fragrance from the deodorant.
My only negative about this deodorant, and it is important enough to stop me from using it more regularly is the length of time it takes to dry after you have put it on. I cannot use this on a morning that I am heading to work, because I would simply be waiting around for 15 minutes before I could get dressed. I do use it at the weekends or if I am off, when I am not in the same rush out. However, it is a big flaw of the deodorant.
All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who is going to somewhere hot on holidays as it will keep you fresh all day and it has a lovely fragrance. I haven't noticed any difference to my underarms in terms of the nutritive care it offers, but that is not my main reason for using it anyway. If you aren't in a hurry out in the morning, then there is no problem using this roll on, however, if like me you are usually rushing out of the house to work, the time it takes for this deodorant to dry, means it is unlikely that you would have time to wait for it in the morning. In saying that, it is still an effectve anti perspirant deodorant!
