Advantages: In a useful bottle with a perfume spray, pleasantly fragranced, reasonably cheap.
Disadvantages: Probably not that useful unless you're a poor teenager, doesn't last on the skin for long.
If you're young and poor, you may require something stronger than a deodorant but less expensive than a perfume. The answer is, of course, the humble body spray, but products like 'impulse' and 'charlie' have such teenage associations that you're bound to avoid them. You may also want something that's not an aerosol.
Ted Baker's body spray is, therefore, a reasonable alternative to all of these, because it has a sophisticated scent and sprays like a perfume, but is much cheaper than one! It usually sells for around five pounds for a 150ml bottle, which is obviously a very cheap way of buying perfume. The difference is that the body spray contains more alcohol and water than the perfume itself.
The scent itself, if you understand such things, is fruity and flowery blended with 'rare woods' and amber. I have no idea what this means, but it smells very nice, in my opinion, so I have no complaints about that. The only issue you might find is that it doesn't stick around for very long. However, if you're using it as a kind of deodorant, that doesn't matter so much.
The packaging is another feature a lot more grown-up than most body sprays. It should be, given that it's made by Ted Baker: the bottle is purple, the cap is a lighter shade, and the label is decorated in the Ted Baker BODYWEAR range style, with a rather sophisticated elegance. It's the kind of thing you wouldn't be embarrassed to have in your handbag. The instructions are helpful, if a bit dramatic (but whose aren't): "Let Ted take you to paradise on his magic carpet of bergamot, tangerine, lychee, peach, plum and mysterious vetiver." Hmmm.
I first used this body spray as part of a set from the BODYWEAR range, which came in a beautiful wash bag along with the Ted Baker body lotion. This came in a purple and green packaging, but now the colour scheme has changed to purple and pink, as detailed earlier. You can buy the body spray as part of a set still, but I buy it on its own from the Ted Baker shelf in boots. You'll locate it easily because of the mass of purple. Be careful not to buy the similarly priced and bottled 'moisturising mist'; they look very similar.
I use this spray very often, and have found very few disadvantages to it, if you understand that it's not a perfume. It's particularly useful for poor teenagers like me, who are fed up of the stink of 'Impulse' but don't want to spend an arm and a leg smelling nice. It will last quite a long time if you don't use it too heavily, which is why I think it's a reasonable price for how useful it is. The reason that I'm only giving it three stars is that I understand it may have quite a small market: those of us who haven't quite decided whether we're teenagers or adults, who haven't quite decided whether we want to buy perfumes or just deodorants.
Summary: I recommend this, but not to everyone!
