I have always been a bit dubious of random body spritzers, I was never really sure what they set out to achieve. I always thought, they weren't quite strong enough to be perfumes themselves, or served the purpose of deoderants, so what exactly did they do?! I would have never purposely gone out of my way to buy any. However this was offered in a magazine as a free sample so I bought it as I cannot resist a bargain! Firstly the product is packaged in a classy way, as I have come to expect with body shop products. The bottle is glass, with a smart label on, and a spray top which is not an aerosol (so good for the environment), but is an easy push down button to get to disperse. It is also made of metal which gives it an extra edge to a spray model in terms of classiness and expense looking. It also has a snap on and off lid to stop the nozzle getting blocked up easily. It is easy to spray and disperse the right amount, it is easy to control and you do not accidently end up wasting it by using too much everytime! The smell of this was absolutely gorgeous and made me become a full time convert to the scent of Bergamot, I absolutely love it now and have bought many other body shop products with the same scent. To be honest I use it as a sort of body spray, like a weaker perfume, which suits me fine as I do not like to wear a 'big' scent anyway. The scent is very soft and subtle, and is only really detectable to anyone but yourself if people get close to you! When you are wearing it you almost forget you have it on, and then every now and then you get a whiff of it and it freshens up your thoughts! It is very much a confidence boosting scent. Reading another review on here I noticed someone else used this as a room spritzer. I am going to go home and try that aswell!
One spray of this and I know exactly what I'm going to do today. The Body Shop's Aromatherapy Bergamot Spritzer is a seriously uplifting experience. The Scent of Bergamot has been used as a mood enhancer for a few years at least and for me, it works a treat. It may be something to do with the association of lemons and limes coming from tropical climates - or maybe just a reminder of a great cocktail on a good night out, I'm not sure - but any which way you look at it this smells lovely. I have no idea why, but as soon as I catch a whiff of Bergamot, my mind can focus and I see the positive side of all things that are facing me that day. It's not sexy or relaxing - just invigorating. It sharpens the mind, quickens the actions and somehow makes awkward things seem more possible. Contrary to instructions, this may be a body spritz but I have never used it as such. Any time I need inspiration or some hope that eventually the rain will lift and spring will surely come - I squirt this all round my front room! By spritzing it into the curtains and onto radiators, the scent quickly spreads around the room and lingers for long enough for your whole mood to change. I was lucky enough to get my bottle free from a magazine offer a year or two ago - and my bottle has lasted all that time. I fully support the Body Shop's Against animal Testing and Fair Trade campaigns, so I'm always pleased to stumble across a winning product from them. Being from Body shop it also has a pump action spray so is kind to the environment. By all means use it as a body spray. The reason I like to treat my house to this and not me is because I wear my own distintive perfume that would clash horribly, plus I love the idea of strolling around the house picking up hints of it without having to take it with you when you pop to the shops or go into work. It's also a nice solution if you're alle rgic to loads of stuff. So, go on - lift your spirits and spritz your furnishings!
I've been meaning to suggest this product for *ages*, it's an essential part of my summer toiletries kit! I originally got mine free of charge from a voucher in a women's mag, but will definitely buy my next one. At £8.99 it isn't cheap, although I believe the price may have dropped recently, but it's well worth it and lasts for ages. The scent is based around bergamot essential oil, and also has strong citrussy notes. It is classed as a body spritz and is ideal for freshening up on a hot and sticky day. It's definitely not a shy and retiring scent, but is uniquely refreshing and invigorating. As it is based so strongly around essential oil, you should read the contraindications before using it.... It comes in a dark green plastic bottle with a spray top, and gives a good spray each time. For me, it's an essentially summer smell, I can't imagine using it at any other time of year, so while we've still got some sunshine to enjoy, get out to the Body Shop and invest in a bottle!
Body Shop Aromatherapy Refreshing Bergamot Body Spritzer I totally love this product – the smell – ooh! I use it, really, for what is recommended – as a spritzer – a quick pick me up. It’s like instant refreshment, an instant wake-up when you need it. You can use the spray all over your body, but not on your face, as it is a deodorising spray and 100% natural aroma. It contains citrus bergamia and panthenol, and the Italian bergamot oil used comes from a Community Trade arrangement. So it’s not only a good product, but you are helping people by buying it. It is apparently not for use by people who are pregnant, suffering from high blood pressure, or epileptic, and if you are any of these, you should consult your doctor before use. Aromatherapy products such as this can have strong effects on the body and mind, and must be used sensibly. I bought this product at around £5.99 after deliberating for ages over the cost, only to find some weeks later that it had been reduced to £2.50 or thereabouts in the Body Shop sale. Argh! (only temporary price though) It has a wonderful lemony smell, and if you take deep breaths of it when you need to, it really helps to relax you, but at the same time, wakes you up. It is pretty much a unisex scent I think, and could be used by either men or women. The bergamot oil also helps to soften and condition the skin, leaving it smelling and feeling wonderful. Available in 125ml bottles, also available as a body oil/ bath oil.
