~DeoDry~
The DeoDry range includes a few scented roll on deodorants - refills can be purchased. I will be discussing my use of the 'Cool and Zesty Roll On'.
This deodorant roll on is free from parabens and mineral salts. It is enriched with essential oils and volcanic minerals and promises 24hour odour protection and a 'dry effect'. Body Shop claim that white marks will be minimised with this roll on.
This roll on features a decent size, roller ball. The actual bottle of liquid is upright with the roller ball at the top. The bottle is mainly white and has various pieces of product information on it. It is a good size for travelling. The bottle can be recycled and this dedorant has a shelf life of 12months.
~Price~
A 50ml roll on can be purchased from www.bodyshop.co.uk or instore priced at £2.50. Refills are priced at £2.00. There are two other fragrances available.
~My Thoughts~
Since having my son 4yrs ago, I have suffered terribly with a sweating issue. Having worked my way through just about every deodorant on the shelf of Boots, I have a fair bit of experience with figuring out what conceals smells and what doesn't! I don't normally bother with Body Shop products but I needed to purchase something cheap to fufill a discount purchase offer via the website towards the end of last year. Generally, I prefer spray on products.
I chose the Cool and Zesty fragrance as it sounded pleasant and fresh. The design of the bottle allows the roll on to be kept upside down without hassle therefore allowing the liquid to be constantly ready to go. That being said, I have had no issues with the liquid flowing when the packaging is upright anyway. Applying this deodorant is a simple process. The roller ball is smooth and skims across my underarm area without dragging. It releases a fair amount of liquid and I only ever need to apply the once.
I am not overly keen on using this roll on. It doesn't feel as gentle as other roll ons I have tried in the past and nipped quite a bit when I applied after shaving my underarms. The liquid dries fairly quickly and the scent is quite strong - often a little too strong. It is very zesty and sharp. I am aware that deodorant doesn't prevent sweating - it simply masks the sweating aroma. I found this fine for a few hours. Whilst I could feel my underarms becoming quite damp soon after applying, this deodorant roll on does do a good job of hiding the smell caused by sweating. I do prefer an anti-perspirant but am happy to use this when lazing around the house and not exerting too much energy! No white marks are left on dark clothing.
~Conclusion~
I do not like the nipping sensation when applying this deodorant. My underarms can breath freely after use and the scent is powerful enough to keep me smelling fresh but ultimately, due to heavy sweating, I do prefer something that will put a stop to the wet patches as well as masking any unappealing odours so I do not feel the need to use this roll on often.
One bottle does last well for me but I would imagine those using this daily will need to replace it quite quickly. It isn't too expensive but if I had to choose, I would opt for Dove or Nivea roll ons overall. This would be an ideal roll on for those who do not sweat too much and generally want to smell fresh and clean. The roller ball still works fine and hasn't dried up.
Thanks for reading :)
