I bought one of Sure's Natural Minerals anti-perspirant sprays solely because it was on offer for 99p, with the normal selling price being £1.99 for the 150ml can. I didn't read the packet closely, so I didn't know that the product "combines the forces of science and nature". According to Sure, it uses a "breakthrough" and trade marked system of microcapsules that are supposed to deliver little bursts of freshness throughout the day. This sounded appealing, even if my first reaction was to laugh at the "forces of science" bit which seemed a llittle over the top when we are talking about an anti perspirant.. Sure obviously takes these things more seriously though.. THE PRODUCT The Natural Minerals range contains a "natural mineral complex" but I am not sure which minerals are used specifically. There is of couse, a full ingedients list on the spray can but I can't say the majority of ingredients mean much to me when listed under their scientific names. Aside from that we are told that the spray offers 48 hour protection, that it is alcohol free and dermatologically tested. In addition it will allow your skin to "beathe". It is available in a couple of scent vaiants and I chose the "Mineral Fresh" one. You can also buy it as a roll on. SPRAY ME Packaging wise, this product doesn't look that fancy but this doesn't bother me as I don't really choose an anti perspirant based on that. The can has a nipped in part about three quarters of the way up which does make holding it that little bit easier. The spray top has no additional cap covering all which I don't miss as I always lose them anyway. Instead, there is a sliding "lock" on the spray button which keeps the product fresh. You are supposed to move the spray button forward to release the product but I struggled a first to get it to budge at all and thought I must have a faulty can, Then it suddenly shifted and I ended up spraying my hands. Thankfully, the opening mechanism has loosened up over time but it is still a bit stiff and awkward to close the cap again. I often end up accidently spraying it because I have to exert pressure to get the pesky slider to move. I have decided to leave it open! As you can tell, I am not a fan of the cap but once unlocked, the spray is responsive thank goodness. A gentle squeeze delivers a powerful burst of the anti perspirant but not too much to deal with. The can also works well from any angle and hasn't clogged at all. DOES IT WORK? I am pleased to say that my struggles to get the spray open and closed are worth it. The spray dries very quickly - in less than 5 minutes I feel perfectly dry and comfortable under my arms. I do find it annoying to discover that I have to wait a long time before dressing after using some sprays. I had no idea what to expect of the actual scent from it's description of "Mineral Fresh". I still find it hard to describe having actually worn it for a while - my first feeling was that I didn't like it a lot as it seemed "soapy". This soon settled down and a clean, very slightly musky, citrus and floral scent develops. It is quite light which is what I was hoping for if it was going to be releasing those promised extra bursts of freshness throughout the day. I didn't want everyone to smell me coming a mile off! It does live up to the description of a fresh scent on my opinion, and I have wamed to it a lot. According to Sure, the patented microcapsules sit on the skin under your arms, and break when you move, due to the result of friction on the skin. You can't of course actually feel them either sitting there or bursting, which is probably a good thing. As I move around thoughout the day, I do smell the spray quite a lot. This may well be due to the microcapsules, but I can also think of many sprays without this technology that I can also detect when I move about. I don't think that I feel any fresher as a result. It does work well as a standard anti perspirant though. I have not developed any damp patches by the end of the work day and my underarms feel dry and comfortable. I feel that it does work well to stop you sweating in the first place. There is no unpleasant body odour escaping from my undearms when I use this when working in my gardening job as a gardener, despite the fact this frequently involves working up a sweat. I don't feel that I need to use Mineral Fresh more than once a day, but I can't put the claim that the spray will last 48 hours to the test. I have always showered several times over that period of time! I also can't tell if my skin is "breathing" so I will take Sure's word on that point. My underarms haven't suffered as a result of using this spray - it doesn't claim to be moisturing or anything like that but it hasn't made the skin there feel uncomfortable. It definitely doesn't sting. I am not usually sensitive to anti-perperspirants though so don't take that as a recommendation if you are. WOULD I RECOMMEND THE SPRAY? It has never let me down as an anti-perspirant and the price isn't bad for a spray of the size. I don't like the spray cap at all and as the product while proficient doesn't do anything extraordinary, this is enough to make me not want to buy it again. It may be that my can really was faulty, but I won't bother buying another to find out. I think the spray can be detected by me as I move around but I don't think the microcapsules make me feel any fresher. I wouldn't buy it solely based on those claims of giving extra protection whenever you move, as there are plenty of similar products that last all day and give you a burst of their fragrance if you move your arms.. However, if you can put up with the spray top, I would say this is worth trying as it does kept me dry, odour free and comfortable. At the time of writing, the spray is on offer in Superdrug for £1.49, should you wish to try it yourself. [This review is also on Ciao under the same user name.]
I normally leave deodorant buying to my Mum in her grocery shopping, so when mine recently ran out and I was faced with the wall of products in Boots, I had no idea where to start. In the end I picked this one up as it was on offer and seemed to be good - though in reality I suppose there's not a massive variety in these types of products! Being an active student, I need a good deodorant that works hard during all the activities I do. My previous deodorant was a Dove one with cucumber in and it worked really well, I never noticed any problems with it. However this one is a little different - I'm not sure if I'm spraying it too close to my skin or my skin isn't totally dry when I'm using it after a shower but more often than not, on application of the deodorant it 'fluffs up' immediately and leaves my arm and body covered in white powder. Mmm. This is obviously not good as then I have white powder everywhere and I look like some Columbian drug runner! It's also quite foul smelling and if you're unfortunate enough to not notice, get some on your hands and start to eat your breakfast, completely and utterly disgusting to taste. When it does work, it smells ok, it's a bit typical locker room smelling but then again I don't think many deodorants are nice on the nose. The top is automatically locked into off position and requires a strong thumb to push forward, so it's safe for bags etc.! The bottles is an attractive green colour which claims 'long lasting 48 hour protection' with 'motionsense systems'. I am not entirely sold on these concepts, unfortunately. The motionsense is meant to allow your body to work as hard as you need without worrying about your deodorant - with the theory being that some women find their deodorant lets them down during the day. The cynic in me says this is just a marketing ploy... Size wise it's a decent 250ml, which should last you a good long time. However I think I'll be going back to my Dove deodorants when I get the first chance to buy another! On the whole I am happy enough to use this regularly, but not impressed with it as a product. It retails for anywhere between £2.50 and £2.80.
I've never been very impressed with many deodorants, but I recently tried the original 'Sure', which led me to using this product. First impressions. The packaging looks much nicer than the original 'Sure', bright green my favourite colour! The smell is very much nicer than the original as well. I found that the smell of 'Sure' wasn't very special, in fact I thought it smelt quite dirty. The smell of the new 'Natural Minerals' deodorant smells lovely and fresh on the other hand. How easy? The can works the same as any other 'Sure' deodorant, a spray can with no lid, which means there is an on/off switch instead. I find this useful as it means that you can lock the lid so that none can be wasted accidentally. This also makes it more safe to leave near children, as they cannot waste it or spray it in their eyes. Good product? Great product! Although I haven't managed to go 48 hours without taking it off yet, it certainly lasts all day, even on these hot summers days. I think it gives a better protection against sweat than the original 'Sure' or any other deodorant I have tried as of yet. It also dries up sweat very well. Therefore, it is very much recommended for keeping away smells and sweats!
The latest Sure antiperspirant deodorant is part of this new range of "48 hour protection" antiperspirant deodorants that have taken to our shelves over the past few months! I have tried and tested a couple of them and have now settled on Sure natural minerals. It looks a lot different to the original Sure Deodorants as this one comes in a dark green colour which does carry out it's intended effect to come across as 'fresh'. With it being a new Antiperspirant Deodorant, you can get it on offer at quite a few places at the moment but it's standard price is around £1.70 for a 150ml can and £2.49 for a 250ml can. As it doesn't have a lid, this new deodorant comes with a more modern approach and has a slide mechanism which allows you to have it 'closed' when you don't want to spray it. To be able to spray the deodorant, you simply slide the silver/grey plastic to the right and there you go! This new range of "48 hour protection deodorants" claims it combines 'science with nature' (which is stated on the back of the can) so that the antiperspirant deodorant works in line with your body. Now i'm sure the majority of Sure Deodorant wearers don't have a clue what this means and so all we care about is whether this statement is true in practice. And it is! I walk to work every day which takes me about 40 minutes. With most Antiperspirant Deodorants I find I can walk for about ten minutes before feeling myself sweat slightly and have to secretly spray more when I get to work because they just aren't effective enough. With Sure natural minerals, the same fresh smell you get when you first spray it remains even when you have been exercising! I can't comment on the 48 hour protection as I couldn't bear not to wash my arm pits to test it! However, judging by the fresh smell remaining after walking 40 minutes to work, working in a warm environment and walking 40 minutes home again, i'm pretty sure this antiperspirant deodorant is as close as you can get to 48 hour protection (if required). I think with all deodorants, the chemicals react differently to different peoples skin and so what works for one person could be horrible to another, as my mum finds Sure natural minerals doesn't really work for her. However, i'm pretty sure you can't go far wrong with this one and the inital fresh smell should last all day to the point that sometimes people comment on it over my perfume! So it is definitely worth giving a go and seeing if it works for you the same way it works for me!
I need strong anti-perspirant deodorant as I sweat a lot and do a lot of physical activity. Packaging: I first noticed the Sure Natural Minerals Fresh as it was on offer in Boots (buy one, get one free...!) It has a nice, simple looking packaging which I am a fan of. Including a great 'lock' on the back of the can so it doesn't go off accidently in your bag. This also means that you do not have to have a lid on it, which we all know come off and are pretty useless! Smell: The smell is ok. It is quite a generic smell. Having bought both varieties with my BOGOF offer ('Pure' and 'Fresh') I can't really say there is much difference between them. But the smell isn't offensive nor overpowering. Effectivity: They claim to be 48 hour protection, which perhaps for people who do not sweat as much as I do, it would be fine. But for me, it lasts approximately 7-10 hours if I do less active activities (general walking around, sitting etc...). However if I try anything more physical I do notice some sweat starts to break through and the deodor effect stops working. A huge plus is that it doesn't leave horrible white patches on you, or your clothes. After the last deodorant I tried this is a blessing!! Value: As I purchased it on a BOGOF offer, I think it was very reasonable. I have seen it on offer in other shops. But at the retail price they suggest (£2-£3) I would not recommend it.
The Can The can is made of aluminium and is green in colour. The lid is green plastic with a silver plastic lock. On the front of the can is the brand and product name, the product symbol, type of product and that it is 48h protection. On the back of the can is information on the product, directions, caution, ingredients, contact information, size of can which is 250mlo and symbols for recycling, solvent abuse and extremely flammable, My Opinion After trying the Sure Maximum Strength and being impressed with it I saw the Sure Natural Minerals 48h spray deodorant and decided to give it a go. For one I prefer a spray and this works out cheaper. Knowing that the application was different to normal deodorants for the maximum strength I decided to read the directions for this can to see if they were the same. But in this case it was just normal instructions for a spray deodorant. So the next morning I decided to give it a go, after unlocking the spray by pushing a bit of silver plastic to the left I was ready to go. The press lid was easy to push down but be careful if you have long nails as they can catch. I had a quick spray first to have a smell and found it to be quite floral (my smell was Pure), it was a very pleasant smell. I then proceeded to spray on my body. I found the spray light and it didn't leave any white marks on me or my clothes. Now for the real tests will it last the 48 hours it says it will? The first time I used it I was doing light things around the house and taking the dog for walks. The deodorant seemed to last the whole 48 hours and I didn't feel that I had perspired and kept dry all the time. I then tested it again doing the harder housework and running round after my daughter, I did do some light exercise as well but being pregnant I couldn't test it through a hard work out. This time it did show a little strain and after about 36 hours of wearing it I started to get wet patches and the smell was working so well. The can lasts about a third longer than a normal can, depending on what activities you are doing. This is a good 48 hour deodorant if you are doing light housework and such but the more heavier stuff I would use the maximum strength cream. So over all would I recommend it, yes as it does last longer than a normal deodorant and has a nice pleasant smell, it also had no reaction to my skin either. Price and Availability Sure Natural Minerals is available in most supermarkets and beauty stores and online. It comes in size cans and can also come in a roll on. Prices start at £1.71 for 150ml's and £2.37 for the 250ml. When looking at prices I found it on offer in Tesco's, the 150ml can was half price at 85p until the 13th April 2010 and in Sainsbury's the 150ml cans are 2 for £2.00, no date was given for when it ended.
I tried this about a month ago when I first started to spot this in the shops. It is a new Deodorant out, and with the launch the tins were on a good offer. The Supermarkets were doing different offers such as buy one get one free and that, but I got mine in Sainsbury's where it was half price. I thought I may not like it, or it may not work, but I ended up buying 1 of each scent, so could have got it on bogof!. You get this in 2 different sizes. The 150ml one I got on offer for 79p, so I guess this would cost around the £1.60, and I think the larger one is 200ml, but I could be wrong. I got a larger one for £1.14 when on offer as well. I don't care much for the colour of the tin. It is a bright green colour. You can say 1 thing that it stands out on the shelf amongst the white tins anyway. This has white colouring on the tin, and the rest of the writing is a light blue coloue. This says this gives 48 hour protection. So 1 squirt of this and I don't have to spray for 2 days? Would be handy, but no! In all honesty I didn't find this gave that much protection. I'm not that much of a sweaty betty, but I sprayed a generous amount of this under my arms, and I could say at the end of a working day I did feel a bit damp, and my clothes under my arms seemed that bit damp as well. Nothing showing the dampess, but I was expecting a nice dry day. The scent of this is nice. It is a nice fresh airy scent and I like that about it. I have bought a few tins of this when on offer, but after it is all used up I wouldn't pay full price for it. I just didn't think this was any more special than other sprays out there.
Anyone who has read my previous reviews will know I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to toiletries, and it's not uncommon for me to have several of the same item on the go at any given time. At the moment I have 4 different types and brands of deodorants in use and the one I'm reviewing today is this - Sure Natural Minerals. Price and packaging~ This is the same sleek looking can as the other Sure deodorants but it differs in the fact this is a lovely grassy green colour, whereas the 'normal' Sure deodorants are a classic white. This has the integrated spray design which seems to be the a hallmark of Sure these days and to stop it from accidentally spraying/leaking in your bag, there is a sliding 'button' on the back which acts as an on/off instead of the common old lid. I bought this whilst it was on offer in Poundstretcher of all places at a very purse friendly £1. The normal RRP is around £1.90 but this will vary depending on where you shop. My experience of using it ~ I picked up the clean sounding 'Fresh' and used first thing after my morning shower. On sliding the button into the On position, I applied a few short blasts of the spray under each arm. The spray came out in a fine, but powerful mist and felt very cold on contact with my skin. The spray is a see through and because of this doesn't do that dreaded 'crumbling' effect that some other deodorants are notorious for. It feels quite wet on applying but the spray dries immediately and doesn't sting at all. Does it work?~ Well according to the blurb this is a '48hr protection that allows your skin to breathe'. So did it live up to it's own hype? I do an awful lot of walking and am very active from getting up in a morning till collapsing in a tired heap on an evening so I need a deodorant that works. I need a good antiperspirant that works and doesn't sting so I liked the sound of this straight away. After a busy day I found this to be excellent and didn't need to re apply at any point despite several discreet under arm sniffs. The scent is hard to pin point apart from it smelling quite leafy and earthy but sweet at the same time. Would I recommend this?~ I have never been disappointed or let down with any Sure products up to press, so I had high hopes for this straight away and I wasn't wrong. This is a great deodorant that works well, doesn't irritate the skin and smells lovely. It's also perfect for popping in your bag as the size of the can isn't too bulky (150ml) either. Miscellaneous~ *With minerals and extract of olive leaf *Works in sync with your body *Alcohol free *PH balanced *Dermatologically tested *For more information visit www.unilever.com Overall~ An excellent deodorant that works brilliantly - try it.
When it comes to deodorant it's something that I use on a daily basis and without fail. I'm not a particulary smelly person but I'd hate to think I smelt not so fresh and with a busy life I choose to buy decent quality products that I have faith in and believe will work and live up to my expectations and needs. Sure is a brand I trust and one that I will buy rather often and so when I saw this product on the market I hadn't seen before I decided to treat myself to a can of it. I'm a nosey so and so and just loving trying out new products! The Packaging: Dark green can which is tall and cylinder and with an integrated aeresol sprayer to the top of it. On the front of the can I am told that it is 'New' Sure Women, Natural Minerals and that it is Pure fragrance 'Protection that allows your skin to breathe' and that it gives 48h protection and that it is an anti-perspirant and that it contains 0% alcohol and of course like all Sure products it has a tick as it's emblem (in this case that tick is pink!). Other information on the back of the can given includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, cautions and ingredients are lisred, the size is stated (which in this case is 250ml) and contact details for Unilever (the manufacturer of the product) are stated. Nice enough and informative can this is that looks highly functional rather than being pretty! A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Can: New Sure Natural Minerals combines the forces of science with nature. With minerals and extract of orange blossom Long lasting protection - intelligently forulated to work in sync with your body Alcoholf ree. pH balanced and dermatologically tested Using It: Well to the back of the push button sprayer there is a lengthways bit of silver plastic and that plastic moves gently left and right to turn the spray off and on. Nifty thinking from Unilever that, giving it an off and function in my opinion and great for popping in your bag if you want to take it places such as the gym without worrying it will go off unexpectedly! The spray itself is ever so simple to use. Direct it to clean and dry armpits and gently press the button and spray away. The deodorant comes out as a fine mist and leaves no residue behind itself at all. Though it goes on slightly damp it does dry into the skin in a second or two and you can dress immedielty after applying it. The smell of this is quite simply gorgeous in my opinion! Slightly floral with a hint of zesty orange to it, it is naturally sweet and feminine whilst being really refreshing and fresh on the skin and what's more that smell lingers on the skin for a good few hours too adding to your feel of overall freshness for rather a long time! Easy to apply, it is a light spray and you can forget it's there and get on with your day with confidence. I wear alot of black and dark clothes and not once has any residue in the form of white powder or oils transferred onto my clothes. What's more this really does make under the arms feel a little hydrated, you can use this straight after shaving your armpits too as it really doesn't sting or even tingle under there and it really does stop any nasty odours appearing in 24 hours with total ease! This may not look a pretty can of product as such but I highly regard this. It works, it's easy to use, none messy and wonderfully fragranced and I can depend on it to work! Great, reliable stuff from Sure once again! Expect to pay about £2.29 a can in all good supermarkets and chemists etc and there are a few fragrances within this range to purchase too. One fragrance is actually on offer in Asda at the moment at 75p a can...so worth a go eh?! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
