I was very put off this product as first as I wasn't convinced it would last the same amount of time as the original sized cans..but how wrong was I! It did last just as long! Less packaging means saving the environment, which is a bonus! It smells as amazing as ever and the effect lasts just as long! I've struggled for a while to find a decent smelling and effective deodorant and also one that doesn't irritate my underarms and this one does just the trick! All in all I'm very impressed and will continue to purchase this product! Please don't be put off by the size of the can as take my word that it seriously does last just as long as the original size cans if not longer! Don't judge a book by its cover! Thanks for reading and I hope I have convinced enough :) :)
I have used Vaseline Active fresh deodorant for a long time mainly because I think it gives good protection and also smells really nice and fresh. I like the idea of the compressed sizes, as I am quite into recycling & think its a good idea. However I find it hard to get my head around the fact that you get the same amount in a smaller can. I do believe though that you do, as I have tried the compressed can and it has lasted just as long. But I think that other buyers may feel the same as I did and not want to buy the compressed size as they believe the other size is better value for money. I would suggest to these people to give it a go and see what they think as I think they will be pleasantly surprised by it as I was.
INTRODUCTION ---------------------- I am very careful with deodorant and, unlike most things, I have to stick to the same brand which is usually Dove. Once when I had almost run out out deodorant I went shopping and found that my usual Dove wasn't available. When it comes to deoderants I am very fussy. I have extremely sensitive skin and usually any change of deodorant makes me very sore and I end up with red and broken skin almost immediately. So what should I do?? I started scanning the deodorant shelf wondering what on earth I should go for....... I noticed this Vaseline deodorant. One of the selling points was how it was good for sensitive skin. Had to be worth a try, well I didn't have any other choice! NEW AND COMPRESSED ---------------------------------- It comes in a new compressed can. The can contains 75ml however it states that you can use it just like a normal 150ml deodorant and it will last just as long. I didn't believe this at all. The can looks pretty small if I'm honest and I thought no way will this last me as long as a normal can. It looks a bit like the size of a small body spray. I will admit, however, I was wrong. It does seem to last just as long and as it's a smaller bottle it is much more handy and practical. It fits nicely even in my smaller hand bags for work and doesn't take up much space at all. It is quite a powerful spray. I don't know if it's because it's a special compressed can to fit more in, but it definitely seems to spray out with much more power and sprays fast. DRYING ------------ Once sprayed on it seems to dry pretty quickly unlike other deodorant's I have tried that seem to take forever to dry and if I'm in a rush (which seems to be always!!!) always get white marks all over my clothes. This one doesn't seem to do this too much and takes much less time. THE FRAGRENCE ------------------------ The scent is very fresh. That's the best way I can describe it, fresh! It is a light fresh fragrance so it is not overpowering at all, however it is strong enough that you keep getting little sniffs of it throughout the day which I find very reassuring to know that you still smell nice all day long and the nice smell doesn't wear off after just an hour or so. SENSITIVE SKIN? ----------------------- The most amazing thing about this deodorant for me is that I didn't react to it. After using it, my skin remained clear and not rash or blistered at all (this might not seem like much for most people, but for me using a new deodorant, it's amazing!!) According to the can it says it has something in in that protects underarm skin and is therefore suitable for sensitive skin. A lot of them claim this but I can say this one definitely worked for me! It is also alcohol free, so this could possibly help the sensitive skin bit and doesn't sting at all. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY --------------------------------- It costs £1.80 for a bottle and is available from all the supermarkets and drug stores (e.g boots and Superdrug). If you get it at the right time you can sometimes find it on offer for £1. CONCLUSION ------------------- I can't really fault this deodorant. It feels and smells great, it's small and compact, affordable and fantastic on my sensitive skin. Amazing product! Totally recommended by me Thank you very much for reading 5 out of 5 stars from me xx Mrs K xx
When buying deodorants I'm usually one for buying in bulk for good offers, but when colleagues at work mentioned the new compressed deodorants I decided to try out the new compressed anti perspirant craze. I picked this little one up for only a pound so straightaway price was a positive factor. Having used the deodorant for 3 weeks now the can isn't empty which surprised me as I expected a little can to run out quickly. the fragrance is natural and minimally perfumed and is kind to underarms. Throughout the recent hot weather I have found this deodorant extremely effective and just as good as regular Sure or Dove deodorant. The only downfall I had with this deodorant was that you lack the cool freshness spray that you get with the non compressed cans and if not shaken well it can powder quite easily, however as a handbag miniature this deodorant is great for on the go and extremely handy for those clutch bag occasions! I would buy this product again!
This deodorant by Vaseline is great on my sometimes sensitive skin. As it is alcohol free, it doesn't sting on application or leave a horrible red rash, even after shaving. It also dries quickly and does not leave any white marks on my darker clothes, like some others do. The smaller bottle also means there is more room on the shelf for all my other lotions and potions. It also takes up less space in the gym bag so is great for travelling. The scent isn't over powering meaning that it does not interfere with your favourite perfume and it is effective at doing its job. The product also seems to last longer than other spray deodorants do although this is not a scientific fact. maybe I am just using less of it. I would definitely recommended this product 100%, and have even replaced my usual roll on with it.
When it comes to Deodorant or antiperspirant, I am very picky, I will generally look for is small enough to just slip into a purse and something that as well as helping me stay fresh, will also have a nice scent to it. To me this product did neither, and as much as I hate to be the only one posting a negative review, I feel as though I have to. The Bottle ------------------ The product is held within the typical Deodorant bottle very similar to that of the "Sure" brand, although of course unlike with Sure which could almost be considered the most popular brand on the market, having the well known logo of Vaseline on the bottle without anyone decoration, makes the can appear very bland and boring. The spray applicator works very easily and has no faults. 5/10 The Smell ------------------ As I have previously mentioned, I believe that Deodorant should have a nice scent to it, this product certainly doesn't have the "X Factor" when it comes to it's smell and in my opinion smells almost like Baby Powder in a spray, which let's be honest isn't a scent you want to have hanging around you all day. 1/10 Application ------------------ When applying the product you have to spray very near for it work properly, which obviously stings, it also leaves white marks on your clothes, which isn't good for anyone. 5/10 How long does it last? ------------------------- To be fair the product "does what it says on the tin", it does last the full 24 hours, however you can generally get 48 hour deodorant that are of higher quality for around the same price. 7/10 Price ---------- Looking around I have found that the product generally retails at around £1.60-£2.00. 6/10 Conclusion -------------- In conclusion I would say as much I love the rest of Vaseline's products they definately need to take another look at thing one and in my opinion, you would be much better off buying a different product.
For quite a few years I have been solely loyal to the Sure anti perspirant range, as it was always effective, in the last month or so, for whatever reason, I just didn't think it was working as well, and I found myself a little whiffy under the arm by the likes of lunchtime! So, whilst in Tesco doing my weekly shop, I decided to look at some other brands to see if they would match the original effectiveness I got from Sure. At the time, Tesco were offering this Vaseline Compressed Active Fresh for a £1, and I have seen it in Boots for the same price recently. I do trust the brand Vaseline which was one of the main reasons I thought it was worth a try (as well as the fact it was a pound). I had a week off work at the start of May, and it seemed like a good time to try this deodorant out as it would have been my daughter to have put up with any smell (!) if the deodorant didn't work. However this wasn't the case! This Vaseline Compressed Active Fresh Anti Perspirant, is a compressed version (75ml) of the original 150ml but with the claim to last just as long. I never tried the full size canister before so I can't compare. This anti perspirant claims to offer 24 hour protection and has 0% alcohol. It is certainly a brilliant size for putting in your handbag, going for a swim, going on holiday etc. I had tried the Sure compressed can and was pleased with the endurance of it. It also includes Pro Derma to care for your underarm skin, and make it less likely to become irritated. When I first used this spray, I was very impressed with the lovely fresh scent that came with it. The week that I was off work when I started to use the spray, I found it worked very well and I particularly liked the fact that firstly I could still smell the scent when I went to bed, and secondly, it never irritated my underarm when I sprayed it after shaving, which can happen. I had actually stocked up when I saw this anti perspirant on offer because I was so impressed. However in this last week, when the weather has been exceptionally warm, I found this anti perspirant let me down, and I was really very sticky. Now, I know this is not the kind of weather that occurs all summer, especially where I live, but at the same time I expect a deodorant to work in the extremes, and I felt this just let me down slightly. When the weather was just the usual, and I wasn't overly sweating, only mildly, there was no issue with this anti perspirant, but in the hot hot weather, it just didn't work as well for me. All in all, I will continue to use this deodorant when the weather is back to the usual, however I am looking again for something to have when the weather is hot.
After my happy bargain of a 25p branded bodywash in Sainburys, when I was in Tesco with my sister I decided to scout their health/beauty/toiletries aisles in case they had a similar bargain! Whilst I was disappointed there was nothing brilliant going at a really cheap rate, I noticed this Vaseline Compressed Active fresh anti-perspirant deodorant was on offer and having read some good reviews about it on here I decided to pop it in the basket and give it a go. It comes in a 75ml white metal canister, which is really slim and petite so ideal for popping in a handbag for some spraying on the go. The new idea behind these compact aerosols is that it contains the same amount as a normal 150ml aerosol and delivers the same protection just compressed into a canister that is half the size. This not only lets it be more travel-friendly but is also better for the environment. Thanks Vaseline! The spray is easy to use, hold about 15cm away from the underarm (careful not to use immediately after shaving!) and spray onto skin. I find it comes out in an ample amount for a small spray so I do not need to spray excessively, just a little squirt is enough to do the job. I find I can get dressed and it doesn't leave any white stains/streaks on my clothes which is a result and something I look for in a good anti-perspirant spray! The packaging states it "contains ProDerma, a skin caring complex which can help protect underarm skin". Personally I do find it really gentle and so is one of the less harsh anti-perspirants I have used so this gets a thumbs up in this respect. As an anti-perspirant/deodorant this is is a good product and I am surprised as I haven't actually used Vaseline anti-perspirant before. It lasts quite long and I find it gives me a refreshing boost to prevent me feeling hot and sticky and giving me protection all day. I would recommend it as it does allow me to perspire less and in turn leaving me smell fresher for longer. I bought this on offer and it costs £1 from Tesco which is a really good price. Overall I have been pleased with this deodorant on and would recommend it, as it does the job and leaves me feeling fresh.
I tried Vaseline compressed as part of a trial with Bzzagent. The can is half the size of the regular can of Vaseline deodorant and claims to have the same amount of product in it - its compressed. In Boots the usual price is £1.90, Ocado it is £2.30. It is on offer right now in Boots for £1 which makes it great value ( Ocado it is 2 for £3 ) I love this, the scent is fresh and not in my opinion gender specific, it is a light scent and not at all over-powering which is great because I like my deodorant to prevent me from being stinky, but not give me a scent, especially when I am exercising. It advertises as a 24 hour deodorant, however on days I do not exercise I find it actually lasts longer, I can wake up the following morning and still feel and smell fresh - bonus ! I actually found this lasts longer than my usual can which is great, so not only is the can easier to carry around and the product long lasting it is also a reasonable price and just what I am looking for in a deodorant. I can not really think of any down sides to this, it is even quite environmentally friendly because once empty it can be recycled !
A few weeks ago the BzzAgent website of which I am a long time member sent out a survey asking if I'd be interested in trying any of three deodorants for free. Out of the three choices I thought this Vaseline Compressed sounded most interesting. First I had never used Vaseline deodorants before and I'd also never heard of a compressed deodorant product. BzzAgent then sent me a Vaseline Compressed product to try and since the first day I recieved it I've been using it non stop! Vaseline Active Fresh Compressed is a new product. The difference between this and older Vaseline deodorant products is that this lasts just as long as the 150ml sized produucts but the cannister is much smaller. There are obvious benefits to the smaller size packaging such as it's better from an environmental perspective as less materials are used and less have to be recycled. I really respect the bran's outlook on this as they spent ten years trying to design this smaller can. The dinky size is also lightweight and easy to fit into a small space so is great for travelling with or popping in our handbag. Aside from the size of the product the brand have manipulated the nozzle of the can so that the spray is dispensed in a softer fashion so that it's more pleasant to use. The Vaseline Compressed metal cannister is about 14 1/2 centimetres tall compared to almost 18 centimetres of my 150ml can. The diameter of the products is vastly different too with the smaller can measuring 3 1/2 centimeters to 4 1/2 for the old 150ml cans. The can feels very light and I've been carrying it around in my handbag without it feeling like a ton weight. The can has a sort of hourglass shape which allows your index finger and thumb to grasp the can in exactly the right position without it slipping out of your palm. The can has a plastic top and a large soft rubber button on the top. The nozzle is angled slightly upwards so you can see immediately which way to aim. There is a lot of useful information printed on the can, certainly enough to let you feel fully informed about the product you are using. On the front of the can the text informs that this is an anti-perspirant deodorant which means it stops sweating and provides perfume. It offers 48 hour protection from sweating and odours. The formula uses no alcohol and contains ingredients which are kind to the skin. The brand state the formula contains 'ProDerma' which is their trademarked name for a formula designed to be gentle to underarm skin. It's relatively easy to use this deodorant although the first time I did I had some issues. I had been using roll ons for some time and imagined this spray might not be as strong as I needed so I ended up spraying much more deodorant onto my underarms than actually necessary. This left me with white streaks on my clothes. After this mishap I tried using it more sparingly and it has been fine - no more white marks. The dispensing mist is actually quite powerful but it does feel really gentle when you apply it. It has a cool sensation and a perfume that smells fresh but very feminine. It has never hurt my skin even after using immediately after hair removal. It feels comfortable to wear this deodorant throughout the day and it does not make my skin feel dry or sticky. It's really like having an invisible deodorant on! I've found this deodorant to be very effective and this has caused me to favour it over my regular products. I've therefore been using it daily am enjoying the experience. Although I've used my product a lot it doesn't seem to be running out so I'm pleased with how much product you get. I would definitely buy this in the future and think that the recommended retail price of £1.89 is very reasonable.
I'm a member of a community called Bzz agent. Similarly to dooyoo, I get to write reviews about new products, only I get sent them for free to try as long as I spread the word about my experience with the item - good or bad. A few weeks back I was invited to try a new product from unilever. They make the deodorant brands Sure, Vaseline and Dove. I stated a preference for trying the Vaseline brand, and I was sent two cans to try. Unilever have worked on reducing the size of their product so that it is more environmentally friendly. By putting the same amount of deodorant in a 75ml can rather than the normal size of 150ml, there is less metal used in the can, and it takes less space in a truck to transport this can around the country so reducing the carbon footprint of this product a little. The can itself is also made from aluminium which is widely recycled, so all round I feel like I am being a bit green using this product which fits well with my personal moral code. I'm a bit fickle with deodorants. I am not usually too fussy which one I pick. I'm not an overly sweaty person most of the year round, so as long as it smells nice and keeps my armpits feeling fresh, then I will buy it. I tend to look for what is cheap to be honest, and I don't tend to use it liberally like some people do so a can will last me a long time. This deodorant has been used in my daily life for the past 3 or 4 weeks and I really like it. The scent is subtle. It kind of reminds me of Aloe Vera a little, and it does not overpower any other scent I put on or make me feel concious that I smell strongly of it. I find that this small can releases the deodorant just as well as a bigger can, and it is pretty good at not leaving marks on my clothes. I did notice a bit of a line on a black top I was wearing, but I just wiped it off my top with a damp flannel and got on with my day. I've had far worse experiences with white marks. I haven't really taken part in any strenuous sporty activities, but I have had a few busy days where we have been out all day at places with my kids, such as a soft play centre, and doing lots of walking around, and I have felt comfortable and haven't noticed any sweat patches or body odour. It is said to last for 48 hours, and I am not sure about this claim as I like to always apply fresh deodorant when I shower or get dressed in the morning, but it certainly held up to about 24 hours in this cooler part of the year for me. I am keen to see how it does in summer. A crucial test for me with any body spray is how does it feel on my skin, in particular after shaving. I found that there was no stinging sensation. I didn't know whether to expect any or not as there is 0% alcohol in the spray, but I was pretty relieved that there was none at all. Looks wise, I don't really care what the bottle looks like, but I really like the shape of the can as it sits nicely in your hand when you are using it. I also love how tiny this can is as I can fit it easily into my handbag or my rucksack if we go swimming. Its the same sort of size as an impulse can of body spray, and it will also be great if we go away as it takes up so little room compared to my standard can. I also think it is fabulous that there is a plastic case over the top of the can to avoid it being pressed in my bag. I wouldn't have expected to use a whole can of deodorant in the time I have been using this can as I am not the sort of person who generally uses lots of product. There is no way for me to see how much of this I have used, but I feel like the can is still pretty full from when I shake it. This deodorant is an absolute bargain too at the moment. Tesco have it in stock for only a pound till the 12th of March, and at this price, I don't think you can get a similar quality of product. The price will then be £1.80, which is still perfectly reasonable in my eyes for this sort of product. I will certainly purchase this one again.
I like trying new things and about 3 weeks ago the adverts appeared for these new compressed deodorant's. I was curious to see if they would be any good and I kept an eye out in the supermarkets for them. I got mine in Tesco where there is currently a 1/3 off meaning these cans are only £1 for 75ml. Now according to Unilever they have created a new aerosol can that is half the size but delivers the same protection and lasts just as long. The aerosols contain half the amount of gas compared to a normal 150ml aerosol and a 1/3 of the metal used in the normal sized can. When I first saw the cannister I was amazed at how small it was! It is a similar size to an Impulse body spray. I couldn't believe that it would last as long as a normal 150ml and it felt so much lighter and smaller. The good thing about this aerosol is it's perfect to fit in your bag. Normally to take a can of deodorant with you fills up your bag and in my case I have resorted to carrying stick deodorants which I don't particularly like to save space. The can has a small plastic lid which when removed shows a rubbery button that you need to press to get the deodorant out. The firsr time I tried this I expected to need to use a lot more however it delivered the same amount of spray as the bigger can. This is because the technology means that less aerosol is needed to deliver the same amount of deodorant. In terms of the actual product in the can it smells the same as the usual deodorant I pick from the Vaseline range and it still protects the same. I don't get any wet patches so it still has great protection. The compressed cans also offer the same range of fragrances as the normal cans. After 2 weeks of use I still have a lot left in the can over half in fact. I only tend to use deodorant once a day after a bath or shower and sometimes after the gym. From what I can see so far the claims are founded. Overall this is great for the environment and space saving for me. For Unilever i'm sure they are happy as they will save on manufacturing and transport costs. This is now my prefered choice and I will give it 5 out of 5.
I am a member of BzzAgent, which is a website that matches you up with certain products and sends you them in the post to try out at home. The latest product which I have been trying out is Vaseline Compressed Active Fresh Anti Perspirant Deodorant. Vaseline Compressed Active Fresh Anti Perspirant Deodorant is brand new to the market and has recently hit the shelves at Boots and Ocado (Sure and Dove have also recently launched their own compressed deodorants). It generally costs between £1.50 - 2.00. It comes in the form of an aerosol can and has a plastic lid on top. The biggest difference between this deodorant and regular aerosol deodorants (including other Vaseline deodorants) is the size. It's significantly smaller than most deodorants - it's roughly 3/4 (almost half) the height of a regular can and half the size in diameter. I can get my hand right around the can, it's very small/compact and is the perfect size for taking out and about. The problem I have with most of my deodorants is that I like to keep one in my bag at all times and that's not always possible as I have lots of small bags and clutches, so this deodorant is ideal. It's a 75ml can which also means it can be taken on board an aeroplane in hand luggage (the limit is 100ml and most regular size deodorants are 150ml). Not only is it a handy size but less packaging (and less gas) means it's slightly better for the environment too! For me the worry of this deodorant was that it wouldn't last very long because of the size, however I have been using my current can of Vaseline Active Fresh Anti Perspirant Deodorant for more than 2 weeks and there's some still some left, so it seems to last just as long as a regular sized can of deodorant (something which the deodorant claims to do). The deodorant is said to 'compress the same protection and care into a smaller can' by 'reducing the amount of gas needed to deliver the same amount of protective ingredient with every spray'. The nozzle has been designed so that it sprays out less gas but delivers the same amount of antiperspirant and skin-caring Pro Derma ingredient. The nozzle doesn't seem much different to any other nozzles and the application doesn't seem much different either, although I would say it sprays out slightly more powerful than regular deodorants (so I tend to use very slightly less than I normally would). The smell of a deodorant is one of the biggest selling point for me. I can't honestly say I like the smell of this deodorant, it isn't terrible but it isn't very nice either. I personally find it too chemically, it would be much more appealing if it had a more fruity or florally smell to it. The deodorant doesn't claim to not leave white marks but I haven't experienced any white marks on my underarms or clothes whilst using it. If you shake well before use and spray 15cm away from your underarms (as instructed), then you should be fine! Vaseline Compressed Active Fresh Anti Perspirant Deodorant is said to have '48 hour protection' and 'keeps you dry all day long, with a light fresh fragrance'. It contains no alcohol, is dematologically tested and is suitable for sensitive skin. I have experienced no stinging or irritation whilst using the deodorant. The effects of the deodorant aren't bad, it certainly doesn't make me perspire like some 'anti' perspirants! My underarms usually feel dry and I usually feel confident for a good few hours after applying the deodorant but I do usually find the need to re-apply throughout the day. Therefore I think the exaggerated claims (particularly the 48 hour claim) are a bit unfair. Overall this isn't my favourite deodorant but it's not bad. I would probably buy again in future (mainly due to the handy size). I award it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
