A cream that dries quickly and keeps me dry all day!

Why a Cream? I first came across this product a few years ago. I've never been terribly keen on aerosol products - I don't think my aim is very accurate and there seems to be spray going in all directions! At that time I was setting off for work before 7 in the morning, before anyone else in the household was stirring. I needed to be quiet and quick in the bathroom. I found roll-on deodorants took too long to dry, especially in winter when it was too cold to hang around as the heating had only just come on at that hour! I tried those solid sticks but found them a bit hard. A cream therefore seemed ideal and this was the first one I tried. I don't think it's changed significantly in any respect in the intervening time. I can't recall how much I paid for it originally. Like many things it has risen in price recently, and now I can rarely find it for less than £2 in Tesco; it is rarely on special offer, either! The Packaging and Its Information This antiperspirant/deodorant comes as a plastic cylinder approximately 11 cm long, with a domed top which makes it look a bit like an elongated white mushroom. On the front the basic, fundamental information is displayed - the logo at the top, then other information such as 24 hour protection, anti-perspirant deodorant, Proderma, 0% alcohol. On the reverse there is more detailed information, including the expected ingredients information, where to address questions or comments [part of the Unilever Group], directions for use, including 'do not apply to irritated or damaged skin', and again the reference to Proderma, which is not defined further than 'a skin caring complex which can help to protect the underarm skin', although it is trademarked. A symbol indicates that the product should be used within 24 months, and the pack is recyclable. It contains 50ml cream. What Is It Like To Use? There is a twist-up mechanism in the base, with arrows indicating the direction to twist. With a new pack you might need to twist a few times before the cream appears through the hole in the centre of the top. A small peel-off sticker covers this hole - about 5mm in diameter - on a new pack. The tube is easy to hold and manipulate, and the convex shape of the top means it's easy to apply to the underarm area. The cream itself is white in colour, mildly scented but difficult to describe - vaguely soapy with a hint of baby powder? For me it's very pleasant and not obtrusive. I don't think any woman wants her deodorant to clash with her perfume! I find I only need to use a small amount of cream per arm - probably about 5mm. The top of the cylinder is effective at spreading it across the required area. Any resulting feeling of dampness is not long-lived so it must live up to its claim to dry quickly. I am able to use it immediately after shaving with no adverse effects. I also find that it is very effective at keeping me dry and odour free for the 24 hours claimed. Another advantage is that I have never noticed any residue or marks on my clothing when I have used this. Conclusions and Additional Information There is another fragrance - Aloe Fresh 'with the added reassurance of aloe' available. I'm sure I have tried it in the past but I haven't been able to find it locally in recent times. I'm not often faithful to products unless there's a very good reason. I did stop using this for a while, when the price went up quite sharply, but I found myself returning to it because it is so easy and effective to use. I do think it lasts a long time, perhaps longer than the cheaper roll-ons. I've decided that, for me, it's a price worth paying - unless I find something else that looks worth trying! Website: http://www.vaseline.co.uk - I checked this out to see if I could discover more about Proderma. I was not impressed - there was little information and in fact I wondered if the site was complete. I was unable to locate the product on any Unilever sites, despite the customer being referred to www.unilever.com on the packaging. 5 stars from me Thank you for reading my review. It may be found on other sites.

        Give It A Try

Finding a decent anti-perspirant deodorant is no easy task these days. There are so many different products on the market, and to make matters worse you don't just have an aerosol option to choose from there are also several types of dry-creams, sticks, roll-ons, to consider and if that wasn't enough you also have to decide what you need it for. Is it for work? or A night out? Furthermore do you need extra protection for example when playing sport. Yes there are so many factors to consider when purchasing deodorants. I have tried so many different types of these products over the years however in my quest have settled on a couple of items which I use religiously. One of these is Vaseline intensive care active fresh anti-perspirant deodorant cream. This item cost £1.49 for two 50ml sticks (I think this is the correct term) which was purchased on a promotion at my local Morrisons store. I found this quite reasonable as some similar products can cost upwards of £2 each. The Vaseline name was also a major deciding factor in my purchase decision as I had used a few of their products in the past with great success and it is a trusted brand. The product itself comes in white plastic packaging, which looks like a microphone. This is due to the unusual cap design which makes the item stand out a mile on the shelf. It has a twist bottom which when turned pushes out the cream inside the deodorant stick. (there are handy arrows on the bottom which shows you the correct way to turn the tube). The front has the name of the product and the Vaseline logo, stating that this is the active fresh version of the product. The back explains what the product is, and the ingredients contained within it. The cream itself is alcohol-free and has a non sting formula (even when used immediately after shaving). This really is the case and I have found very few other items of this type that can make this claim. It is dermatologically tested so can be used by individuals who have sensitive skin. The product also contains pro-derma a term which I haven't heard of before however which means that it contains a unique blend of ingredients that helps to protect the underarm skin and make it less prone to irritation. To be applied like any other deodorant, twist base on the product and use a small amount underarms. Not to be applied to damaged or irritated skin. This has a gorgeous very subtle, feminine fresh scent. It is not over-powering like your average aerosol spray. Gorgeous and I think it has one of the nicest fragrances I have experienced in a deodorant. The beauty of this product is that a little goes a long way and it lasts for ages. Very effective you do not have to reapply even after a long-day at the office!! You are also aware of the fragrance throughout the day as it doesn't fade. A plus point with this item is that it does not leave any white marks on your clothes and there is no powder residue. This anti-perspirant really does work and will provide lasting freshness all day long. I cant find fault with it in any way. So impressed am I with it that I have become a convert and buy it every single month. The added bonus is that there always seems to be a special offer on the range (it also comes in aerosol form to and in different fragrances - so you are bound to find something that is suitable). Overall 5 stars and highly recommended.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Like many other people who use vaseline intensive care products, my skin tends to be very sensitive, and in the summer especially I have trouble finding an antiperspirant that works and does not burn and cause itching. That's when I found a breakthrough that is vaseline dry cream antiperspirant. At a resonable price for a 50ml tube type thing that has not been tested on animals you cannot go wroung. Plus, the smell is so delicious that you feel like eating the contents of the bottle(ok. bit over the top but it is a very nice smell!) More then anything else though it actually works, no matter what the weathers like, what you're doing, and who you're with it keeps it's promice and you do not perspire. Go and buy now! It's an order!
