“ Brand: Vaseline / Deoderant / Type: Deodorant Spray / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Protects „
I have used a wide range of deodorants over the past few years and always like to try new products and ranges, I tried this Vaseline deodorant a while ago when I saw a decent deal for it in Boots. It is widely available and is a popular deodorant, so does it work as well as you would think for a popular product. These deodorants are designed to keep you cool and give you 24 hour protection against odour and sweet. The blue bottle looks attractive on the shelf and the Vaseline Brand is a well known health care range. I have used a number of Vaseline fragrances and this is one of those deodorants that I have used more than once and think it's a rather decent product.
This is a decent deodorant which has a nice scent which is citrus tinged and fresh. It feels cool when sprayed and lasts well even after physical activity like playing Sport. The scent is lighter than many similar products and is ideal for people who just want to keep cool and want to combat sweat. The deodorant is available in 150ml cans which can be found for around £1.50 on a decent deal or sometimes a little more in places which aren't showing a deal. The spray is ideal for those with sensitive skin and those who may be more prone to underarm rashes. The fragrance is light and fresh which works well.
I would recommend this deodorant for Men who like to keep active or work in a hot sweaty environment. It's cool nature and decent scent combine well to give you a product which should go down well with you. I will be looking for a new deodorant again soon and may just get a can of this or maybe two if there's a decent deal on. It is long lasting as you don't need to spray all that much for it to be effective. And finally this is an ideal product if you have sensitive skin or just want a deodorant that has a light fragrance that will keep you fresh without overpowering you and those around you with the scent.
I've tried many different deodorants in the past and it was just my chance I was shopping in Morrison's and it happened to be Vaseline intensive care for men that was on offer at half price so I thought I would try it and I've never looked back and used it all the time ever since.
Vaseline is a trusted brand that has been around for some time as well as manufacturing deodorant they are also well known for their lip care products
==About the product==
The product is marketed as a 24 hour protection and can say that this is definitely true; I can go the whole day without having to re-apply although sometimes I do because the deodorant actually has a really nice, fresh smell. The deodorant is ideal for sensitive skin as it contains pro-derma and has 0% alcohol, this is great as some deodorants that I've tried in the past can irritate your skin and leave quite a nasty rash. The deodorant also doesn't leave any white marks unlike some brands so you can wear a dark coloured top without having to worry about any marks that might appear. Once you apply the product it dries quickly and does not feel sticky.
The deodorant comes in a dark midnight blue coloured bottle with the Vaseline logo on the front, this is different from the woman's which comes in a white bottle. The bottle is quite slim and has a push down nozzle. I really like the shape of the bottle as it fits better in your hand as it's not as thick in diameter as some brands which you can't quite get your hand round.
The product can be purchased from supermarkets such Tesco, Asda and Morrison's as well as shops including Wilkinson's, Superdrug, body care and savers. The full price rrp for the average size bottle (150ml) is about £1.75 although there is a bigger bottle available although I prefer the average size bottle. I've quite often seen this deodorant on offer for £1 or even better at half price making it about 87p which I think is a total bargain as I actually prefer this over lynx which is nearly double the price of this deodorant!
I'd recommend this deodorant to men because it has a really nice fresh scent and also if you trying to watch the pennies its alot cheaper than other brands like lynx and nivea and I actually prefer it. You know you're getting a good product from a brand that you can trust. I'd give this product 5 stars!
I bought this because it was on offer at Home Bargains for 89p for a 150ml can. Vaseline Intensive Care Deodorant for Men comes in a masculine looking slim dark blue aerosol. It sprays a nice film of deodorant under my arms and it stops me form perspiring and smelling as its an antiperspirant deodorant.
The smell of this is nice and fresh and clean. Its not too perfumed and not a feminine smell so I thought for that reason alone my other half might lay off from using it and just stick to her own. I know she uses it because it disappears so fast and I can also smell it on her after she's been in the bath or the shower.
Vaseline has been around for donkey's years and its a brand I trust and I have a lot of other things in the hosue along the beauty line in this range and my other half uses a lot of things in this range also. It is very effective at keeping the sweat at bay and if I use it before work at about 7pm then I know it' ll still be working by the time I get back home on a night.
Its gentle and doesn't sting at all. Obviously I don't shave under my arms but my other half does and she hasn't moaned bout this stinging or itching her either. Although this is aimed at men I reckon that women could also get away with using it because it has a neutral kind of perfume to it - it's nothing like the stronger male deodorants you can buy like Lynx, which is definietly a male sort of smell and a woman couldn't get away with wearing that range.
This is long lasting but would last longer if it was just me who was using it. It leaves a white patch under my arms where I have sprayed it, which just looks a bit like talc, but I'm okay with that.
Recommended by me and my wife. ..
I buy lots of different brands of deodorant and usually like to buy one that catches my eye or one that is cheap or on offer at the time, I saw this one for only £1 when I bought it from Boots on offer. It is a very well known brand and so I thought it would be very suitable for my liking and to keep me nice and dry.
It comes in a long slim can, it has a pull off top, it is a lot of deodorant for the price I paid for 150ml. It has a push down nozzle. The can is quite nice looking too and is a nice navy colour with the name clearly on the front of the can.
It really smells nice and pleasant, it has a kind of aftershave smell, it is not a sweet smell but more of a sweeter smell to it, that is the best way I can describe this one. It sprays very evenly when I spray it under my arms. It does not feel all sticky or even tacky once it has dried. It dries very fast in a minute or so just how I like a deodorant to dry on my skin, especially if I am in a rush in the mornings.
After it has dried I have found this one keeps me nice and dry all day and I have never had any wet patches on my shirts during the day. There is nothing more embarrassing for me to have those nasty wet patches or white marks on my clothing but with this one that has not ever happened so it suits me well.
The fragrance is apparent throughout the day and lasts for a very long time. It leaves my skin with no irritations and quite soft. It is a nice handy size for taking away on holiday or for travelling if you are going for an overnight stay. It takes very little room in a wash bag for these occasions should you wish to want a deodorant for these kind of occasions.
I have found I have never needed to top up during the day because of the very good quality this one has, it is a very good value deodorant even for the usual price. I think it is one that fits well into a bathroom cabinet too. I think this one is also good enough for a woman as my wife has tried it and she quite likes it. It is more of a masculine one though as it states on the can but if a woman has no deodorant left to use as my wife had at the time she tried this one, I just think it would not smell too bad in an emergency.
This is a really nice one that I would highly recommend for anyone to buy because I think it is well worth the price and it works well to keep me nice and dry throughout the whole day.
I rate it 5 stars.
For some reason I have recently began to perspire a bit more than usual at work, it's really not something I have ever had a problem with although I still use deodorant just to smell nice. Since I'm not too particular I don't usually go for the more expensive like Lynx, but I still use them now and then. On a recent visit for the weekly shop to ASDA I saw a few of the Vaseline range were on special offer so I removed the top and sprayed a little into it so that I could sample the deodorants smell before deciding.
I'm guessing that the majority of readers will have heard of Vaseline since they have been around for some fair old time now, and I'm also going to make the assumption that you will be familiar with their distinctive dark blue colouring system for their products. The actual logo is simple yet effective being that it is simply the brand name overlaid on a gradient of blue. The gradient starts dark blue at the top and becomes lighter as it goes behind then below the wording. I think it quite smart. The top edges of the logo are silver in colour which somewhat highlights the blues. The 150ml can cost me £1.49 and stand around 7 inches high tapering slightly at the about one and a half inches from the top to allow the push on lid to be fitted. A slight swirl of blue follows the contour of the can from it's bottom to about two thirds of the way up, all in all not a badly presented product at all, and it looks quite professional.
It sprays very evenly and has a clean fresh smell which if anything is perhaps just a little sweeter than that I might normally choose, it doesn't however have the smell of SOAP that I find so many of the current batch of deodorants do. It is gentle and its scent lasts quite a while since I have at times still got the odd whiff at around lunchtime which is a good 6 hours from application.
Vaseline Intensive care with pro derma is what is advertised on the front of the tin and I for one hadn't a clue what pro derma meant was or is. So I did a little Internet check to get rid of my ignorance. It turns out that it is simply a skin protector, which is used, in various outdoor intended products to protect the skin from the elements or at least that is the gist of it. There was an awful lot of technical and chemical stuff that just went right over my head.
I have grown to like this more and more as I have used it mainly because of its longevity and it's general effectiveness. It is not an obtrusive scent and certainly not as overpowering as others I could mention it sits delicately in the background keeping away any nasty niffs that might have planned to embarrass me during my working day.
At a very reasonable price, and very well presented I find it hard to find any flaws in this excellent product, the excessive sweetness that I first encountered has been accepted, and I now feel comfortable in the knowledge that this product will do as it is designed to do. Yes I would recommend this without hesitation.
It was difficult to turn down a couple of bottles of Vaseline Intensive Care Deoderant for Men when they were offered at 2 for £1.89 in Superdrug. I play sport 6-7 times a week, and have (perhaps embarassingly) tended to go for women's anti-perspirant in the past because I've found them both more effective and more gently perfumed.
The former has been addressed with this excellent deoderant; sure, sitting in sweaty clothes for 3 hours after playing sport does mean you smell, but for day-to-day hustle and bustle, one application of Vaseline in the morning tends to sort you out until your shower in the evening.
It is, perhaps, a little strongly perfumed. Such strength tends to make me suspicious of the efficacy of the 'anti-perspirant' bit; why make it smell so strongly if you're going to be stopping the sweat anyway!?
It's a good deoderant with an attractive smell that will be effective throughout the day, even if it is perhaps overly perfumed.
This is without a doubt, my favourite deodorant. Priced at around £2 for a 150 aeresol spray can (although often, special offers can be found) I think it's pretty good value.
This product bills itself as 24 hour protection, and to be honest, i've never tried it for that long without reapplying, but it defintely does last the whole day long. This product has a really nice fresh, and slightly sporty smell without being too overpowering so that it takes away from the smell of your aftershave.
It is also great for sensitive skin as it contains pro-derma and has a 0% alcohol percentage (bad news for those of you that thought about drinking the stuff). Which means that it is good for those who can get irritated by harsher deodorants.
The best thing about this in my opinon is that it gives the same protection as other deodorants (ie, better than body sprays such as linx) but doesnt leave those awful white marks that appear when you have just used spray and then put on a your favourite black shirt!
Defintely the only deodorant I will buy these days, worth the extra few pence!
Normally whenever I go shopping for men's products I usually go with the flow and go with what I know. So I end up with unisex products or products which are kitted out for women; especially in the under arm department.
When I was younger I did the Lynx and the Insignia brands but always at the end of the day body sprays designed for men to combat sweating have never managed to meet their promise. And the prices for such products have been overpriced between £3 and £4 just for a 150ml to 200ml spray can, not counting in the associated body gels and shampoos which accompany the same product. As a man it seems its not just good enough to own a body deodorant; thanks to the pressures of marketing you are supposed to buy the entire range at the same time.
One product, which I have been using over a period of time, has been Sure's Oxygen cream roll on. Older packaging never suggested that this was a women's product but sure enough (literally) Sure have now gone and put "for women," in small black writing on their latest capsules of this excellent cream - and that puts me off because of the endless remarks made by Female cashiers stating the obvious - yes Nar knows it's a women's product but at the end of the day Sure's cream product and Vaseline Intensive Care's own Pro Derma cream roll on for women appear to work better on my underarms against men only products which seem to bring me out in red rashes and horrible lumps - Lynx included, here.
So to change views and to perhaps see what was out there, I have been using a spray called "Vaseline Intensive Care Anti-Perspirant Deodorant For Men with Skin Caring Pro Derma." Yes it is an awfully long winded wordy product but given the excellent dry protection the women's cream has been giving me, I decided to give this product which is designed for men, a chance to see if the claims work.
Dressed in a dark blue spray aerosol bottle with white lettering stating the main brand image and the Pro Derma in dark silver writing, it is really the only white letters in a larger font, which will stand out from a shelf from a distance. As the song goes, "From a distance the world looks grey and blue," it could never be any more than a fitting tribute to this rather understated product which looks slightly sporty from its colouring and also worryingly close to the size of Impulse body spray for women, albeit with a slighter wider diameter and height; so at best at least it slips into bags easily for men who work out at gyms or have a sporty life. Travel to the back of the bottle and the writing gets worse. You'll need to peer closely to the light aqua coloured writing showing the claims of this product against a dark blue background. Quite why Vaseline have bothered to do this is beyond me; The product claims it is alcohol free, offers 24 hour dry protection and a further claim to "keep you dry all day," whilst the Pro Derma contents suggest that it will not cause irritation to underarm skin.
So, upon showering in the mornings before heading out to work, I apply this spray just as I have applied other sprays in the past. And just like most it suggests that the user sprays the product 15cm away from their body/underarms. Most men won't recognise the use of cm however but ironic as it seems, I bet most men know how long 6 inches is..!
Upon application the spray is cold against my underarms but not icy cold enough to make me wince. It sprays on easily and in a fine grey-white mist that goes on easily just as good as the spray's direction is. Having sensitive underarms caused by abrasive deodorants in the past (Lynx) I do feel a certain peace of mind that this spray is suitable for sensitive skin and another claim at the back of the bottle maintains that this product is dermatologically tested. And the product doesn't bring me out in lumps or rashes; so perhaps one claim so far seems to be true.
The scent of this product is quite sporty; it has shades of pine and shades of soft and light musk aftershave, thus perhaps showing its Men only purpose. However despite the lack of alcohol contained in the product, there is an after-smell of alcohol, which can be off putting and further shades of a whole mix of manly aftershave smells which conjure up a man's changing room of completely different sprays going on at the same time. At best it is a little like the kind of scent older men may recognise from aftershaves by Marks & Spencer's or even Old Spice. I would not suggest that it is perfectly suitable for use if like me, you use a strong aftershave because it gets difficult for most aftershaves to work in tandem with the scent in the spray. The longevity of the scent lasts for a few good hours and against my underarms, which aren't overly hairy, the scent starts to die down before it has completely disappeared by lunchtime. However I am still quite dry and my underarms still feel dry and pampered.
So it is a pity that whenever I return home at 5pm, my arms are literally soaking wet in sweat; the scent has died down, my arms are sticking to the insides to the top of my arms and generally I'm feeling uncomfortable. Does this happen with the Vaseline cream roll on marketed for women which I have used? No - and they also have Pro Derma added which kind of makes this product look like a has-been. What about the 24-hour stay dry all day promise? Sadly in my case, this seems to be a false promise whilst the horrible smell of wet sweat has outlived the sporty understated scent Vaseline for Men gave in the morning.
Which kind of means, the men only product for this man hasn't worked; and I have two other tins of this stuff to get through thanks to a special offer of buying one and getting two free! Vaseline need to have a look at this spray again however, particularly when it is priced at £1-99 and appears to be a bargain with claims that suggest its as good as the rest of Vaseline Intensive Care. A poorly written over worded deodorant with an under-handed underarm promise! Thanks for reading. ©Nar2 2008
