Feeling fresh is a must, especially during the summer months. I love trying different scents when it comes to deodorant and much prefer a roll on rather than a spray. I recently picked up Vaseline aloe fresh roll on during a regular trip to Sainsbury's. The packaging. The product comes in a white plastic case with a blue plastic lid at the bottom that unscrews to reveal the roller ball to apply the product. The label on the front has the Vaseline logo at the top, underneath it tells you that the product is Aloe fresh 24 hour protection anti-perspirant deodorant. It also confirms that it contains 0% alcohol. On the back it gives the bottle size (50ml), lists the ingredients and some contact information for the brand. (Unilever) The product and use. The product has a lovely fresh smell to it and rolls on the skin clear in colour. To use simply unscrew the blue plastic lid to reveal the roller ball, place against the underarm skin and gently roll on. Replace the cap and ensure it is tight to prevent the product drying up. Price and availability. It is widely available from supermarkets, beauty stores and online. I purchase it from Sainsbury's priced at £1.55 but Superdrug currently has it on offer at £1 for 50ml. My experience and verdict. I would definitely recommend this product. It contains no alcohol which is much gentler on the skin and great for sensitive skin types. It has a nice fresh smell and once applied lasts all day. The 50ml size is very convenient and great to fit in my bag.
Vaseline Aloe Fresh 24 hour protection anti-perspirant deodorant roll on: I usually used spray deodorant, but as I was flying recently, I purchased a roll-on deodorant, to be able to take in the cabin, as I was only taking hand luggage. At 50ml it is the perfect size, to keep me under the liquid limit, but big enough to last me while away. Vaseline Aloe Fresh is a roll on deodorant, which comes in a white plastic container, approx. 4in in height. It has a transparent blue plastic screw on lid. It is oval shaped and gets thinner towards the top of the container. There is a grove from the top down each side, and onto the lid, which matches up when the lid is on tight. There is a label on both the front and back of the container. The front one has the Vaseline logo, and a cartoon picture of aloe vera. It says in English and Dutch 'with skin caring' Proderma. It also states that this product contains 0% alcohol. One the back there is a place to place your thumb, when opening, which makes it easy to open. There is a label which has the ingredients, barcode, diagram to show how to match the grooves up to close the lid tight, and picture to show that it should be used within 24 months of opening. The corner of this label can be lifted to reveal another label, with information in English and Dutch. It has instructions for use 'Replace cap tightly after use. Allow to dry before dressing. Caution: Do not apply to irritated or damaged skin'. There is also the address for Unilever in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. Inside there is a white ball, which when in contact with the skin, moves around, spreading the liquid deodorant onto your skin. It does not feel too cold on the skin, and looks white until it dries (hence needing to wait for it to dry incase it stains clothing). The scent is not too strong, it smells a bit like soap, with a hint of aloe vera. Always wash your hands if you touch the liquid, as the taste is horrible if you accidentally taste it on your fingers!! I apply this deodorant to my underarms after showering, leaving it a few minutes to dry before dressing. I'm not sure that the deodorising effects of this would last 24hours, as I would always reapply it in the evening. It did keep me feeling fresh and sweet smelling in the 30C heat, which was better than I expected. Since purchasing this, I now regularly use it and will buy it again. One 50ml bottle has lasted quite a while, and although I don't use this one daily, Id expect it to last at least a month if you did. The cost of the Vaseline Aloe Fresh roll on was £1.49 and it can be purchased from supermarkets and pharmacies. I will definitely purchase this product again, as it is easier to transport than spay deodorant, cheaper than other brands and works well.
Everyday I use both a roll on and a spray deodorant. It's not that I have problem with body odour, but I am a very warm person and really feel the heat. I worry that this might give me body odour and would be horrified if I smelt, so I use both to be on the safe side. I used to use whatever roll on was new, on offer, or just what one I fancied. I never really had a problem with any of the other brands, but did find I had to wait a while to use them if I had just shaved under my arms, although I would constantly forget and get that dreadful stinging. One time when I went shopping, Boots had this on offer, so I gave it a try. I used it as normal and found it was very gentle and quite liked it. One day, purely by accident, I had shaved under my arms and used this, again forgetting. I waited for the stinging, and I waited, and I waited. Nothing! I thought it was just a coincidence so I tried it again and the same thing happened. I have been using this for years now, on a daily basis. I also shave my under arms almost everyday and I can honestly say that it never stings after shaving. I told my mum about this when I found out and she has said the thing after trying it. This is now the only deodorant I use. The smell is very fresh and clean, and although it doesn't stop you sweating when it's hot, it does stop any odour and leaves you feeling fresh for a long time after using it. It's usually priced at around £1.45 to £1.65 in most stores, which is pretty average compared to other brands. It sometimes goes on offer for about £1 each, so I tend to stock up when I see it at this price if I can. It normally lasts me at least a month using it morning and night, sometimes even 3 times a day in the really warmer months or I go swimming. In the winter it tends to last a bit longer, about 6 weeks.
I have particularly sensitive skin and have to be careful what products I ues as some have been known to give me a rash and make me itch until I bleed (not nice!). I find that my under arm skin is often dry and sore and I have been through many, many deoderants in an attempt to find one which a) does not make my skin flare up and b) does the job! The vaseline range are exactly right for me, they are soothing enough that my skin does not react whilst ensuring that I feel fresh and dry all day. It is a unique balance which I can only seem to find in their roll on range, for some reason the spray's just never seem to make me feel fresh all day but their roll ons do. These cost about £1.30 from boots or ASDA which is pretty good value as with daily use I would say one roll on lasts around a month. The aloe version smells quite fresh and very plant like rather than floral, it really does smell like aloe vera which is quite a unique scent and if you are not keen on it then this roll on is not for you! I always use it after showering and the product comes out of the roll on quite liberally and feels quite soothing and moisturising, the cream which comes out is a whiteish colour but sort of translucent, it dries pretty fast which is very handy as I usually want to dress straight after applying. I have had no reaction to this product and have now been using it for a couple of years, I tend to alternate between this aloe version and the 'active' scent, just for a change, both are pretty pleasant. The bottle stands on the roller ball end which is handy for application and means the product is always ready to come out, it is a good design for this kind of deoderant. I like this product and have no intention of changing as for me it seems to work well and leaves my skin soft and smooth.
I have been using this deodorant for a while now so thought I would write a review. I bought a new one in Asda yesterday for £1.32 which was quite cheap compaired to some of the other brands available. I use it twice a day everyday and a tube (don't know how else to describe the packaging) lasts me about a month. It comes in a white tube with a blue lid that is also a stand for it. You twist the lid about 1 cm and it comes off easily and is not hard to undo. It is secure though and doesn't just fall off. The design means the roller ball is at the bottom so it is always coated in the deodorant. The product contains 0% alcohol and says it gives 24hr protection. It is described as anti-perspirant deodorant with skin-caring. It does say on the label on the back to allow to dry before dressing and do not apply to irritated or damaged skin. I really like this deodorant and it does exactly what it say it will. It keeps me dry all day so no embarrassing wet marks under your arms. The only reason that I use it twice a day is because I use it before I go to the stables and again after I have showered before work. I have tested it during 3 hour rides on my horse in the summer and intensive dressage lessons and it hasn't let me down. It doesn;t drag across your skin when you put it on and it doesn't dry out my skin either. I have had no flaky bits coming off it once the deodorant has been allowed to dry under my arms and it doesn't leave white marks. I love it.
As with most people when a new product comes on the market you want to give it a try. This was the case when Vaseline brought out their range of deodorants a number of years ago. I first tried their spray on version, and fell in love with the scent. However I don't like using spray deodorants as my clothes always end up with marks, and I honestly don't think they work as well as roll-ons, especially when you're very sweaty! I was delighted when I cam across the Roll-On version. The roll on has morphed into a cone-like shape and stands on it's lid. This means that the liquid inside is always in contact with the ball, ensuring you always get good coverage not matter how much is left in the container. It's the perfect size and shape for hands and reaching your underarms without any hassle, and also for popping in the smallest of bags. The 50ml bottle lasts for ages (I've never timed it but might just have to now) even when applying lots everyday as I do! And at around £1.30 per "bottle" it's great value for money. As it's an anti-perspirant, it helps prevent sweating as well as masking odour with it's pleasant and not overpowering aloe tinged scent. The combination of aloe and Vaselines ProDerma skin care means it's gentle on your body and on sensitive skins like my own, though with all deodorants it's not suitable for damaged skin. With all roll ons it's advisable to wait till it dries before putting clothes on so you don't rub it all off on your clothes, and if applied correctly it only takes a minute to dry. Again, with it being roll-on there's no nasty stinging if you apply right after shaving, major bonus! If you prefer using roll-on to a spray deodorant then I'd definitely reccommend this one to you, the scent is light and fresh, the bottle design is clever and functional and it does the job fabulously.
Deodorant. A must have of course! Who wants to stink? Nope not me! lol I own so many different brands and formulations I could start my own chemist because me, I buy them all the time. Not because I even really suffer with BO. Actually I don't at all but the thought of someone thinking yuk she smells bad makes me break out into a cold sweat I can tell you that much! So I buy and I buy them lol I picked this up in my local Sainsbury's at the price of about £1.39 though they are widely available in all decent chemists and supermarkets and quite often I've seen them on offer or within a deal of some kind so do look out for that! There's a couple of different fragrances available as well. The Packaging.... 50ml white plastic, long sort of domed shape with the roller ball situated at the bottom and a matching white plastic lid/cap that twists on/off easily. On the front there is a white label and on that I'm told in white and green writing that it's Vaseline Intensive Care Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, that it's called Aloe Fresh With Skin Caring ProDerma and that it contains Aloe Vera. On the back white sticky label in navy writing I'm given a list of ingredients, a little diagram of how to use the product, the size is stated the recycle symbol is shown, I'm told it's a Unilever product and there is a bar code on there. It's not really posh or exciting to look at but it does instill faith it will work as it looks functional and it appears suitable for men or women to use. Using It.... Well when you take of the lid/cap you are greeted with a really large, transparent roller ball. It always rolls really well and even if it hasn't been used in a while as long as there is some product within it, it rolls without a problem. However the set back with this is that if you don't use it for a while the liquid 'scums' on and around the ball. It goes soggy and collects into like a slight white sludge so I think you always need to check that's not there and lets face facts a minute we don't normally look at these things and dive straight into using them.... well I do anyway lol If you put the sludge under your arms it transfers onto clothes in the form of a white mess. It's simple enough to remove it off the ball though with a bit of tissue though so I do that. Smell wise, it's ok and not awful. It's incredibly fresh and really does smell of Aloe Vera. Me.... I'm not keen on it as it's a bit overpowering in the smell stakes for me but once it's applied to be fair the smell does fade though I apply this in the morning, sniff my pits at night and I can still smell the product as fresh as a daisy on me. To use it is simple enough. Couple of strokes under the arms dispenses a clearish of what looks like a thicker version of water. It feels smooth and gentle and even if applied straight after shaving it doesn't sting at all. It takes a couple of minutes to dry but I have put this on in a hurry and got dressed straight afterwards and it does make a bit of greasy mess on clothes but doesn't transfer white so it is important to let it dry. (Does wash out of clothes though if you do this). Verdict.... Bit of a pain waiting for it to dry in really. Easy to use though and if you like the Aloe Vera smell you'll more than likely like this. Yes it works very well indeed. No nasty whiffs and all you can smell is Aloe Vera. I feel it's a very hard worker and I trust it entirely. It is very kind to skin and when on my armpits they feel really smooth like I've also used a light body moisturiser so that's a bit plus. The skin is gently hydrated without any hint of grease. Overall.... Not for me in the smell stakes but it works and lasts ages, in the container and on you!
