Advantages: Great, affordable suits etc
Disadvantages: Poor casual wear
Burton: Decent looking clothes, fairly durable but slightly bland?
My shopping experiences in Burton always tend to leave me wanting that little bit extra.
The shops in general are laid out well however, there is a good demarcation between their casual stuff and the formal wear. Furthermore, I find that there is also a division in the quality of the clothes as well.
I am a big fan of the formal wear they do. I have bought about five suits from the store as well as many shirts and ties etc. I find the quality of the suits brilliant, they look great and they really last for a good long time. Perhaps most importantly as well the prices are not sky high, it is unlikely that you will pay more than £150 for a suit, which is very reasonable given the quality that is also tied to the goods.
However, I find the casual wear does not live up to the high standards set by the formal stuff. I find that a lot of the stuff just doesn't look great, either it is too bland, or they have tried too hard to make it look good that it ends up looking garish and horrible. Obviously this is a matter of personal taste, but I am hardly ever drawn to these clothes. However, on the few items that I have bought the prices are decent (about £30 for jeans , £15 for a tshirt) and they are pretty durable. But it really is a case of trawling through a lot of fairly bland and poor goods to find those gems, thus not making for an especially great consumer experience
Summary: A shop thats strength lies in its formal wear
