Advantages: Much cheaper than stores selling similar menswear (eg Next)

Disadvantages: The choice of stock never seems quite enough

Unless you're rather into your sportswear, or a gentleman above a certain age, it can be very difficult for us blokes finding anywhere that stocks decent clothing on the high street at reasonable prices (I'm not sure I like the idea very much of paying £20 just for a t-shirt, especially when money is scarce...). Of course you can go online, but when it comes to clothes, I much prefer trying them on before I buy them; it seems too much hassle sending something back through the post when it happens not to fit. Some high street options then include Next and River Island, but I've always found that Burton is the most reliable in its range of good value, quality menswear, and have bought everything from jeans, shirts, and t-shirts, to shoes and coats, and have always found something I've wanted in the shop much more often than I have in browsing other chains.

The store offer a card service, which most of the time gives you 10% off when used to buy products from the shop floor, and also often access to pre-sale events where you can gain sale discounts a day before the general public are able to, but as with any store card you should be aware of high interest rates on the balance if it is not paid off as soon as receiving your statement. It can also be used to gain the discount when using the Burton online store.

Perhaps one slight quibble is that although what's on offer tends to be very good, there often isn't really a great deal of different choices. That said, it is true for other similar stores, and Burton definitely therefore represents the better of these.
