Advantages: Fun, Funky and Traditional Styles.
Disadvantages: None.
I have lived near to Birmingham all of my life and hardly ever visited until I got a full time job after university in the centre. Ever since then I have realised just how many shops Birmingham holds and especially fashion shops for all ages and styles. I am a girl so of course I love my shopping but my boyfriend and my Dad love shopping in Birmingham to and when my sister decided she wanted some jeans a couple of weeks ago, where did we go to get them? That’s right Birmingham. Now I will attempt to tell you just why Birmingham is so brilliant if you need some of the newest fashions.
I think to start this review off I am going to split it into ages because with every age comes a different style and store taste and Birmingham offers all of the fashion stores that the average person will need.
For the younger age there is a huge mother-care which offers all of the latest baby fashions but my favourite is mamas and papas which is situated in the bullring which is just such a beautiful shop. I don’t even have a child but when I go shopping for my boyfriends nieces I love it in there.
Ok moving on a little now is for children who are between the ages of about two to twelve and you can find sections in stores such as Marks and Spencer’s and BHS who both offer fashionable clothes at very reasonable prices. Also Debenhams offers a fantastic and large range of children’s clothes dedicated on the second floor in the bullring.
For teenagers or even adults, Birmingham offers shops such as New Look, Topshop and Mark One which give the top high street fashions at the moment and the prices are very teenager friendly. I don’t know about you but when I was a teenager I did not have much money so liked to buy quite cheap clothes which were of a great quality and washed well which is exactly what you get for your money from these stores.
Ok so now we move on to adults and for the very fashion conscious of you there are plenty of stores to look at including Debenhams which is fantastic for giving fashions for all ages. There are classic ranges for the more traditional look which is popular with the elderly and then there are concessions including principles which are popular with middle aged people and then there are concessions such as topshop which are suitable for the younger adult. I am just generalising here as all of them would appeal to all ages. Apart from Debenhams though there are several stores located around Birmingham including Marks and Spencer’s, Jane Norman, Coast, Oasis, Bay, Dorothy Perkins and everybody’s cheap favourite Primark.
I have only mentioned a handful of the stores here but every high street store you can think of visiting is here in Birmingham somewhere. As well as high street stores though, Birmingham does offer some very designer places indeed. For those of you who don’t know Birmingham, there are a few big shopping centres you can go to. The Bullring, Pallasades and Pavillions are suitable for those who do not particularly just have expensive taste and would like to look for clothes of all prices but you can got to the Mailbox.
The Mailbox is for those with expensive taste and comprises of shops such as Armani, Hugo Boss, Harvey Nichols, Emma Somerset and Gieves and Hawkes. Now these shops have some of the most stunning fashions I have ever seen. I was walking past Hugo Boss one day (I never walk in as I get too scared of the prices) and I saw this stunning pink dress that looked seriously like it should belong on a model on the catwalk. I loved it and admired it every day for about two months before it was taken down and the price was….wait for it….£450. As you can see you do have to have the money to shop in these places but the fashions are just gorgeous.
I think that Birmingham offers everybody a lot of places to go and see and a lot of clothes to try on. Because it is a city and one of the UK’s largest cities it does house most shops you could wish for. If you do come and visit then what I do recommend is going to the bullring as this is where you will find all of the most popular high street fashion stores but what I also recommend is you do not just stay in the centres (unless its raining then that is totally what I would do). The thing with Birmingham is that everything is kind of spread-out and what you will find is that there will be quaint and unique clothing stores situated all over the city. When you are here just take a look down all of the side streets as well as the main ones because the side streets offer some very nice clothes stores that are very fashionable and range in price. Here you will find many unique fashions and what I love about these stores is that when you buy something from them you know you are getting a well-made and unique item.
Birmingham is one of the only places I go shopping now as I find that it has all of eth fashions I need and with hundreds of shops all over the city and in waking distance then I cannot fault it. If you are after an item of clothing then you couldn’t do much better than coming to Birmingham.
Thanks for reading.

p.s. if there is anything else you would like to know and I have missed out then let me know and I will edit it in.
Summary: Be Stylish and Shop in the City.
