Advantages: good choice of independents,all located in one street

Disadvantages: park at the roodee race course,as parking charges in the town center can be a little expensive

Watergate street is the destination for any discerning modern women,once the location for chesters antique shops,it has now become home for the independent fashion stores peppered with the odd multi national,NICHOLS at 32 watergate street has a wounderful range of european labels from paris to copenhagen.situated at street level and forming part of booth hall mansion,a grade 1 listed building dating back to the 13th century,the interior hosts a wealth of architectural delights.The staff are welcomeing and very knowledgeable,with a free alterations service nichols hits the mark.There are several other fashion stores of interest and are all located in this very beautiful and picturesque part of chester.
last year saw the launch of chester fashion week,sadly the main focus was centred around the large department stores and cheshire oaks which is situated in ellesmere port,so hopefully this year the organisers will make contact with the beautiful boutiques found in watergate street.

Summary: one of the most beautiful shopping streets in the north west
