Advantages: Lots of variety at cheap prices
Disadvantages: The sales can be a bit manic
Otherwise known as Hennes and Mauritz H&M is a clothes shop that seems to be everywhere! Well, in over 14 countries anyway. It sells men's and women's clothes as well as having section for children, maternity wear, lingerie and accessories that include hats, shoes, jewellery, make-up, and sunglasses.
I frequently shop at the H&M in Swindon, which is a spacious store set on two levels, and I like it for several reasons.
Firstly, the clothes are reasonably priced and they range from wardrobe staples to more ostentatious items. You can buy tank tops from about £5 and simply yet stylishly tailored jackets for £25. Secondly, there always seems to be new stock that captures current trends and styles very well. Thirdly, there sales are really good, and although the can seem like a manic jumble sale when the big discounts first appear it's worth persevering and searching the rails for bargains.
H&M is particularly good for teenagers as the children's clothes go up to the size of 172cm and the garments are often very similar to the adult styles and don't look too immature. Because the clothes are quite cheap they are perfect for children who keep growing and need new clothes. The jeans at H&M, in all departments, are really good because they are reasonable priced (normally about £12 for children) and come in lots of different styles, lengths and colours. The make-up section in H&M is also particularly good if you're buying presents because they have a cute range of make-up with cartoon characters such as Snoopy on.
H&M is always a failsafe for finding something that you need at a reasonable price.
Summary: What would we do without H&M?!
