Advantages: Cheap, Good quality clothes, Wide range
Disadvantages: Not in every high street yet
Living in Northern Ireland for all my life as I have, I have missed out on the wonders of H&M, or so it would seem. It wasn't until I visited my girlfriend in London and I was dragged in here after many tales from here raving about this clothes store that 'had really good clothes for really cheap prices'. I was a bit sceptical, but the smug look was wiped from my face once I went inside. Obviously, like most clothes shops, the range of clothes for ladies dwarves the range available for men, but there is still plenty to choose from - from casual to smart, underwear to outerwear, shoes to hats, all dirt cheap and really good quality. And not only is it great quality, it is also quite fashionable. OK, so no one is going to be going up or down a cat walk in some H&M clothes, but you catch my drift. It's also down a notch or two from somewhere like Topman, which can be a bit to cool for me at times. Unfortunately H&M stock slippers, if they packed picpes as well they'd be onto a winner with me. Since the London visit, I have been to one in Cardiff and one in Liverpool, and been delighted each time. The shops are very easy to navigate, and while there certainly isn't a lot of space to move around, there is a lot more space than in somewhere like Topman, which is very useful, as I am usually travelling when visiting these shops and have a rather large bag to try and necogiate the shop with! They never seem to be too busy either, and that comes after visiting the Oxford Street one on a Saturday leading up to Christmas! Which for a doddery old fart in waiting like me is a godsend. No queues, pleasant and friendly staff make for a very acceptable shoppnig trip, well, as enjoyable as a shopping trip can be really. I think my girlfriend regrets intorducing me to be honest, as I insist on going into one now when we pass. Still, there's plenty for her there as well, from plain t-shirts to fancy tops and dresses for g
oing out. Give it a go when you're passing, you may be pleasantly surprised like I was.
